Matilda and Cranky's wedding didn't go off as planned. That irritates Ponyville's chief planner, who incidentally happens to be one of the four most powerful ponies in all of Equestria. Twilight has many questions, and they begin with the whereabouts of a certain spirit of mischief.

So Discord learned that ponies can have more than just one friend, and total disaster was (sort of) averted.

But enough about that stuff. What we, the wonderful pay-per-viewing public, want to know is how did Smooze spend the rest of his night at the gala?

Letters. Everyone writes them, and they're not just for ponies. Be they carriers of serious news, friendly correspondence between pen pals, or declarations of heart and heartbreak, each one is written with a clear purpose or goal in mind.

Celestia uses them to try and keep her faithful student and friends in line, and try to keep an unbalanced world on the straight and narrow.

This is much harder than it sounds.
