Ever since the Bugbear incident in Ponyville, the Super-Secret Anti-Monster Agency re-opened their facilities and welcomed back their fellow agents, including one of their very best, Special Agent Sweetie Drops.
Overtime, the Earth Pony, who took up the name "Bon Bon" many years ago, seems to manage her double life pretty well ever since her re-acceptance. But little did she realize is that her tendency to keep details and whereabouts all to herself is taking its toll on one very important pony in her life as well as the only pony who knows of her secret identity: Lyra Heartstrings. So on one night, when Bon Bon returns from her recent mission and sneaks into their home, Lyra decides to confront this matter once and for all before it drives them apart even further.
As it turns out, not all I do is make music. I actually have a pretty decent talent making plush pony dolls on the side. It brings in good bits... on occasion, such as this one time a little baby dragon commissioned me into crafting him a white unicorn with a blue mane to snuggle with at night.
Then one day, about a week later, I suddenly found myself with more clients. Like... a lot more clients.
Falling in love with the mythological book series Midnight Castle, Lyra Heartstrings has created her very own fan fiction site, a home to all that enjoy reading and writing human fiction.
This is the life and times of that site.
Lyra wants—no, needs—to understand what's making Bon Bon depressed.
Twilight Sparkle writes an important letter about how she became friends with Lyra the unicorn, a mistake she made, its terrible consequence, and one of friendship’s hardest lessons.
(Thanks to _Medicshy for giving me his feedback on this. Anything about the characters in the story that seems off is probably an instance of me not taking his advice.)
While attending an audience-participation show in Canterlot, Lyra and Bon Bon take part in a game in which newly married ponies see how well they know each other.
A newlywed game, if you will.
This story contains minor references to My True Self, but you don’t have to read that first if you don’t want to.
The Sex tag is present only for a coded reference to the subject.
Moving to Ponyville was supposed to be the beginning of a new, exciting life for Sweetie Drops, but things rarely go as planned...
Then again, unexpected events sometimes turn out for the best, as the candy maker gets to meet a pony who has something in common with her: feeling down in the dumps.
Twilight Sparkle never seemed to notice Lyra Heartstrings. She didn't even remember Lyra's name.
They were friends back in Canterlot and even went to school together. Yet Twilight didn't notice that Lyra just happened to move to Ponyville the same day she did. She didn't even notice when Lyra appeared at her welcoming party. Nor did she ever seem to spot her old classmate passing by in the background on any other day during her stay in Ponyville. Some days she could look right at Lyra and never realize that they knew each other.
Lyra isn't a very noticeable pony. She has put a lot of effort into that.
Set in late season 5, after Amending Fences.
Note: Lots of spoilers in the comments.
A pony approaches with an unusual request.
Written for the Dialogue Only contest. I’m taking the “no narration” challenge to heart and want the dialogue to do the scene-setting. For those of you who’d like slightly more info to go on:
Princess Twilight Sparkle, Equestria’s sole lawmaker, is holding court. Lyra Heartstrings approaches to ask her to change a very specific edict.
