@all: Okay, okay, okay! Since everyone keeps asking me (and Bob is on her way here) I’ll reveal the super secret name of my daughter! (So secret that all of Equestria will know it soon...)
The doctors finally let me walk outside of my room *gasp*. It was difficult, but I somehow managed not to collapse after the first step out of the door. :P I also got to see my beauties :) Judging by how calm they are I think I’ll have huge problems. (We all know that the foals That pretend be calm then proceed to destroy the entire house.) InItForTheShipping has given me a few pointers, so all should be fine... I hope.
Anyway, onto the elusive name. Since I need to wait a few hours for Bob to get here so we can take the foals and go to my parents’ how about I leave you to speculate :P The only catch is you must provide a reason for your theory! When I get the okay from Bob I’ll post the name :)

I think she’ll be called Aether, because of how she came to be. The colt is a dream, and the filly is magic :)

Well, I know a thing or two about Lyra and her obsessions. So I can say that without a shadow of a doubt the filly will be named Cassandra. (Also that’s a name Bob is likely to go with.)

I’m inclined to agree with Max. What’s more interesting, I actually know a few foals that were named after MC characters. All of them are called Caprice, but there’s also an Omni.
@LyraHands: my only concern is how would she be treated growing up? I mean school is a harsh place no matter who your parents are. Things are likely to change in a few years, but Nightlings still aren’t 100% mainstream, although we are mostly accepted.

This will take some explaining, so bear with me.
The normal thing would be to assume Lyra would choose one of the female names in the series: Megan, Molly, Cassandra, Euryala, Echo, Athena, Kalypso. Out of these I’d remove Athena and Kalypso, because of a long conversation we had with LyraHands about foal names. (She mentioned it weird to have a foal named after a deity.)
Megan and Cassandra seem logical choices, but I think Lyra will avoid them for the simple reason that they will chain her daughter to their nature. Both means Lyra know how difficult it is to begin society (even in this day and age) linked to a fillyfooler, especially since there’s no control if the filly will end up being one or not.
That leaves Molly, Euryala, and Echo. While the first two are splendid names, they are still too close to the series and Bob might not fully support the choice. (As Jade said, growing up with a strange name is tough.) Therefore, I think the only choice left is Echo: it’s from the series, sounds both human and pony, and is related to music.
Echo Strings is what the name should rightly be.

Well, it sounds logical, but I think you’re all wrong. I suspect the name will be linked to the filly herself, and by the descriptions given so far, there’s one that stands out: glowing
Thus is think the filly will be Glow (or maybe Cyan Glow) :)

Umm, this might be silly, but I keep thinking of Starchild. I don’t know why. Maybe because it sounds like a great tribute to S.Child who indirectly helped LyraHands have foals? Hand yes, I think that Star Child is the name of the author and she is a mare!)

A few of you were actually very close. Well done, Max :) You almost got there. RRBB, you were correct as well, as was DarkSparkle to an extent.
The name of my filly is...
Megan Harp (which, as none of you know, is actually an arcane music instrument used half a millennia ago.) We discussed it with Bob and we both agree it’s a wonderful name of a strong caring character so this way she can experience the best of both worlds, as well as keep an eye on her little brother :)
Now, if you’ll excuse me I’ll be heading home to finally spend some time along with my family. (Finally I got to say this :))
