Response Planning

I checked.

Dark was right about the heart spell. The entire city was frozen. No ponies were harmed, so there’s nope that part of the emotions are clinging in, but the way things are going I’m not sure for how long.

Good thing it was Vanhoover. Most ponies there seemed used to freeze overs, but I don’t think other citizens will react as well.

I’m not sure what I could do :( The storm he makes renders magic useless, and Everfree clouds and not always an option. Most of them vanish during teleportation, so that’s not an option :(

@Simile: any luck on your end?

TrueSparkle

Well, this is alarming. Are we any closer to solving the riddle? I’ve double checked and there’s nothing in my diaries that could be of any help.

Celestia

Twilight and I are still going through Sombra’s library in case he wrote something somewhere, but it’s a long shot. So far we’ve been through a lot of repulsive stuff, yet nothing remotely useful. All that we know is that the Windigos had already vanished by the time he claimed the throne. There was a note about you, though.

Sombra wasn’t concerned with you starting a war with him since you “cast a blind eye on what has happened” and no longer held the “moral authority” to take any action.

InItForTheShipping

Err... in later entries he mentions he was wrong, resulting in him being defeated in your hooves. That’s actually the reason he cast the amnesia spell. He was planning on him returning when you had no memory of the event and either accept him as a co-ruler, or accept a peace after a long dragged out war.

Also, I’m sure he was lying and you didn’t do what he said you did. Sombra has been known for misdirecting and betraying, as he writes in his own journals. And let us not forget he was very jealous of Starswirl.

DarkSparkle

@DarkSparkle: we get it, you think mom’s infallible. :/

The facts are that the windigos disappeared after the Crystal Empire was established. The original ones. The ones that still exist now are more wind than anything else. That Windigo, he was solid (I should know because I came in contact on two occasions.)

I don’t even want to think about this... but Mom, please tell me you didn’t do anything as horrendous as destroy an entire race.

LightSparkle

Of course she didn’t! How could you even think that! Princess Celestia has is incapable of any malice!

DarkSparkle

Hmm. My sister was much harsher in the early years, but I agree. Destroying an entire race isn’t something either of us would do. If there was a point to be made we would make it. Banish, imprison, petrify, but not outright kill. Time does that for us most often.

I managed to make a significant discovery. While the Windigo had Twilight’s heart he was also able to dream. Unfortunately his nature makes it too difficult for me to enter his dreams. They are so orderly it’s like looking staring into a block of crystal. Next time I’ll try to shatter it, but from experience that would at most wake him up.

ColdLight

Well, the sightings at the palace have stopped. The Crystal Guard swear they haven’t seen him, though knowing what he could do I have my doubts. At least I taught Flurry a protection spell. Hopefully she doesn’t have to use it.

InItForTheShipping

Since there’s no way to solve the riddle, how do we fight him before more twins and cities get frozen? I’ve learned a lot since last time and with DaBoss’ discovery I think we can get him. As long as he doesn’t teleport, use magic, or summon a storm I think we should be okay.

@Simile: Are you paying attention? How did your meeting with Starswirl go?

LightSparkle

Do you mind?! I heard you the first time! And if you think this is an easy matter, think again! :/ Seriously, if the fate of Equestria wasn’t at risk I would never have agreed to this!

I’ll try to talk to him tomorrow.

Simile

@Simile: not that I want to rush you, bet every day another city risks being frozen, and you’ve seen first hoof how that ends up.

InItForTheShipping

I’m actually still here, trying to bring some cheer... which is all the more difficult with another town being frozen, so I know. :/

I think there should be more talks with the dragons.

Simile

I’ve been in constant contact with Ember and she is doing everything possible to help. Dragons can’t teleport, though. Even flying at full speed, it would take them up to a day to reach a desired destination.

My main concern is Manehattan. As one of the three largest cities it would suffer a great deal if attacked. I, trying to think of a way to have dragons there as well as defrosting cities throughout Equestria, but the math doesn’t add up! :(

DarkSparkle

What about the sirens? I know they caused a stir in the past, but they are the only ones who faced windigos of this type and remember it. Maybe they could be reformed as I and Discord were? PlayedPiece looks quite nice. I can’t imagine her being evil...

TrueSparkle

@TrueSparkle: you have no idea... even if they are better now. I can go see if the other two would be willing to help out in this.

@Celestia: Mom, is that okay with you? I know you and Starswirl had a history with them, so...

LightSparkle

I supposed that’s something else Simile will have to ask when she sees Starswirl. On my part, I am fine with it. I see you have already managed to transform them enough to be willing to give them a chance :)

Celestia

What if the Windigo tries to freeze Canterlot?

TrueSparkle

I doubt it. The Everfree forest is too close by. That’s why I ordered Cloudsdale to be moved near Canterlot so it would have the same protection.

For the moment the only other solution would be to have a constant flow of clouds from Everyfree to Manehattan. We know that the Crystal Empire will be the last targeted, so we could ignore it for now.

Celestia

Very well. I shall continue searching the dreamscape for more of his dreams.

ColdLight

Sounds good. Twilight and I will continue going through Sombra’s scrolls.

InItForTheShipping

I guess I’ll talk with some sirens.

LightSparkle

And I’ll mentally prepare for what’s to come...
