Just when I thought I was finally going to get a chance to relax, but no. Why would I? My mother told me she’s coming to visit and “see if I’m doing well”. Of course now she cares! Not a word when I was in Canterlot living on my own or counting my bits looking for a job. Nope, back then I was a disgrace. Now that I’ve managed to make something out of myself, oh and pregnant incidentally, she suddenly cares!

I really don’t know what to do. One moment I’m worrying my horn off, trying to get my mother in surgery, the next I can’t find a place to hide from her tribalism! I swear, if she calls Bob anything remotely offensive I’ll kick her out of the house!
And my father’s no help! He’s become so fixated on having us speak to each other that he’s constantly taking her side, while whispering for me to be patient. Ha! As if I’ve been anything but patient! Anypony else would have stopped talking to her months ago! Looking back at things I have no idea why I put up with her for so long! I should have moved out to live with Bob back in college!

I’ve no idea how Bob is taking it. She’s always worried about me, but now even more. The last thing she needs is my mother barging in our life again. Did you know that Bob and my father are pretty much fiends at this point? They have been exchanging mails twice per day. He has actually managed to accept her for what she is. They do it in secret. I found their latest correspondence. Each is saying what’s going, while staying clear of me or my mother. It’s just... Bob deserves so much better. If the site thing hadn’t become a thing I can’t imagine what would have happened. Most likely I’d be a mailmare of an elementary music teacher.

Well, for what it’s worth you’d make a great teacher. I’d send my sis to learn from you. But, yeah, you always had issues with your parents. Even before college your mother was far too strict on you. Are you sure there’s nothing to mellow her out? Get her drunk or something? I can talk to Berry Punch if you’d like?

I don’t want Bob hiding things for me. I really don’t. I know she’s trying to protect me, but I feel so... it’s as if she’s shouldering all the pain and doesn’t even consider I could manage on my own. She’s not doing it on purpose, but still.

She’s known about my mother’s visit for days and didn’t share. And that’s not all. There’s something happening in Ponyville. I know it’s related to her work so she couldn’t tell me, but I still worry.

They have done unimaginable things, and I a having trouble living my sheltered comfortable life. Do you think it was a mistake? When the foals are born will I just them to Bob and run away as I usually do?

You say you’re not worth it, but look at what you achieved. You made a site for millions to enjoy. Hay, even the Daring Do crowd didn’t achieve that! You did and you picked coltfiction! Do you even imagine how difficult that is?
And that’s just a start. You say you got pregnant. Remember how exactly you did that? Me, I was lucky to find a rich stallion who is everything I wanted (and I still didn’t manage to get pregnant).
So your mother is coming to visit. Big deal. The moment she annoys you tell her to buck off! Say that you feel tired and need to get some rest because of the foals. And prepare a bed for me. I don’t care what Jade says, I’m spending the time at your place!

Sorry, I had to cry a bit. Thanks, Max. I’m feeling a bit better now. I guess my mood swings are getting worse. Just yesterday I was so happy. We talked with Bob all night, laughed about the contest, started coming up with names again... and this morning I just woke up bleh. And it didn’t help I learned of my mother’s visit. I really hope she doesn’t mess things as she usually does.
Bob talked me into having dinner with my parents. Thank the stars it’s at home. I don’t think I would have survived it being in public.
