The Everprince
Ruler, Trickster, Shattered
Child of the gods, the Everprince was born into power without wanting it. Years were spent resisting, trying to stay away from it all, until there was but no choice to learn. And with power came bitterness. One they the Everprince saw something no one else could and went to tell others, but instead of thanks received treachery. That single moment changed the Everprince forever.

Nope, not ominous at all :P. Guess we all expected this to be the final spoiler to be about the Everprince. Well, now we know for sure. The spoiler is a quite brave marketing stunt. It only works if ponies are familiar and interested in the series. For a total newbie it will be as bland as heck (ha, you missed one, Tech :P).
I find two things interesting. First that the power given is the same as the name of the series. We know that everything is Ever, but to outright say that the Prince controls the Everhere is pretty big.
The second thing: notice how it's never specified if the prince is male or female. For all we know it might turn out to be Cassandra (that would be a twist :P)
In other news, as you can see I'm back. Sorry for my dramatic post and behavior lately. I was just being a jerk. And I can't thank you all enough for all your @ and PM and not giving up on me. I really have the best friends. :)

Yay! RRBB! Great to see you better! Also, great final arc spoiler. Pone, I'm not sure what's going on anymore. What if the speculations were true and the Everprince is the good guy/girl? Were the Chronicles a lie all along?

I strongly doubt they would destroy one of their solid series just to make their latest installment stand out. To be honest I have see it happen, much to my regret, but I'm council that S.Child's team know what they are doing (as they have proved so far).

@RRBB: Good, because you're totally wrong. You're see that the Everprince is Loki. It's so obvious. First character to appear? Always there when weird things happen, and yet not at all bothered by it? We know nothing about him other than he's Danny's roommate. (Does Danny really have a roommate? We haven't actually seen him do any tests or such, just prepare for them.) you tell me he's not.
Although, for a younger male audience, the news will probably come as a complete surprise. A little disappointing, to be honest. All that build up for a "meh" ending. They could have done much better.

The spoiler was rather well presented, aimed exclusively at the fan base. RRBB is completely right that no one else will understand a thing. Also, it won't cause any cringe either. It's a hit or miss, and trust me, if you're not interested in something a miss is much better. That's the reason I dislike the Daring Do books. They make such a big deal of themselves and marketing is trying to shove them down my threat with every commercial they make.

I've heard that some of the adventures might be based on true events, but the writing style, and yeh focus of the stories, is for a more simplistic audience. Of course, that's partly to blame since they are considered more light fantasy (or YA). They are also too in your face.

@Jade: I have to agree with AP on this one. As original as MC is, DD is must more established and easier to follow. Thee something to be said about writing experience. Also let's not forget that DD has chosen the book format.

@DarkSparkle: The only reason Daring Do is as popular as it is, is because of timing and it's choice of target audience. It's a series by mares for mares (which isn't inherently bad, but has a much greater reach.) Comparing a YA series with coltfiction is absurd. The technical skill is similar, but DD is far more shallow (mostly because of marketing pressures, I'd say).
