Hey, girls! It's that time of the week :) No spoiler tags this time.
We continue directly where we left off (check my last review) with Athena (confirmed goddess) standing over a bleeding Megan in Hades-reality. Scared, Megan uses the gem to escape to Poseidon reality, but once there she finds another Athena waiting for her. The child explains that if Megan continues like this her wound will get worse, and Megan listens.
For the next part of the scroll we follow Megan trying to find a doctor while hiding, with Athena just tagging along. Until now, other than sharing thoughts between realities Athena hasn't shown any powers (including fighting in any shape or form). Megan tries to figure out what is going on: why the Warlockwings are getting involved, why the deities are silent, why the Skyla corp has been keeping Athena locked all those years in their vault. The child goddess reacts like a typical child and doesn't answer directlly. (I'm so glad that the writers didn't go for the spoilt brat cliche).
Once Megan is better she and Athena devise a plan how to rescue her in the Poseidon reality. Apparently, the rest of the grand nine (still there) had been briefly interrogated and let go after the prattle last chapter. The only exception is Cassandra, who is still held in an Overseer location as a corporate prisoner. Megan wants to rescue Cass, of course, so there's a sort of an argument at the end of which Athena poutily agrees.
What follows is the best chattered reality plan I've ever read :) Megan can go between realities with her gem powers, Athena can see/remember everything from all realities… you do the math :) The two set on a journey of reality hopping, in order to start a chain of events that would let them rescue Cassandra and Athena at the same time. (Of course they involve the rest of the grand 9 in all realities.) There are a few comedic setbacks on the way (continuity! :)) but ultimately they succeed. Megan frees Cass, then goes to free Athena, but Hercules is there, waiting. He does the classic villain (? still not sure if he is or not) speech when Athena suddenly starts fighting and kicks his *yay*! :D Again, beautiful fight scene with lots of punches and magic. :)
Standing over Hercules, Athena tilts her head and makes the quote of the series so far:
“Let them go, bro, or dad will be upset.”
“It's Dad’s mess that let all this chaos in the first place!” Hercules spat on the ground. “The Overseers won't let this slide. Not even for you.”
“They will if you convince them.”Yep! She goes on to explain that Hercules and she are half siblings, with their father being Zeus (how cool is that!?!? :D)
The chapter ends with Danny asking they are supposed to do now, to which Cassandra (of all people) replies that something is stirring and they can only do what they've been doing all along: try and keep Mistmount safe.
I don't know about you, but I'm getting a Vol 5 vibe. It's more and more looking like there will be a series of challenges rather than a direct conflict. Knowing the writers (@Luna :P), though, there might be a grand arc as well.
Also, I'm starting to like this new goddess. Can't wait her to meet Molly :) (also, Chosen in 4 days! Hype!)

Girls, just letting you know that Dark and friends won't be posting a while (friendship problems again). Before that, though, she's dictating the following:
Athena is great, but isn't a centaur.
There's no crime in hoof kissing.
Cassandra is overrated.Interpret as you see fit :P
I think the chapter was nice. Maybe it's just me, but I can empathize with Athena. I strongly suspect that she was imprisoned because she did something really mad, maybe mind wash Mistmount or something… (we've seen how she can plant thoughts in others). I'm almost certain that we will see her backstory in the near future.

@PrinceEric: Cool review as always. I'm curious who their mothers are. I tried to poke InItForTheShipping for myth info, but she's still a bit grumpy after what I did at CrystalCon O:) Also, that little goddess can sure fight. I wonder if my daughter would be like that in a few years.
Edit: my daughter wonders if she'll become like Athena in a few years… @InItForTheShipping, sorry honey O:)

@LittleFinger: Hey, donut worry about it. You've gone a long way since then. And I must admit I was a bit envious of you (even if you were lousy with teamwork and friendship :))
Also, having a father like yours… you really had to go through a lot. And it wasn't only my idea for you to get back in the reserve program. Fleet and Pieface were with me on that 100%. Also, 2ndHalf promised she'd be there as well for support if you need her, so chill and cut down on the salt, okay? ;)
