I know I'm new here, but what do you think the best pairing should be? I've heard (and read) many pairings... I expect all of them are considered possible, but am really curious what the Nightling consensus is.
I, personally, love the idea of Eric and humanized Caprice. They seem like such a sweet couple you just can't do anything but d'awww. Karl and Cassandra are a close second, though.

@DaBoss: Congrats! You marched into a fiery swamp! That said, there isn't exactly a consensus among the Nightlings (or anypony else for that matter). In general, pones consider everything with Danny or Eric good. After that it's mostly based on popular fanfics (since S&S will never commit to ships, outside the mythical one true ship, a.k.a. Blayala). Eric x Caprice (all versions) is a popular one, as well as Megan x Cassandra. Molly x Bellucio was popular in the early days but has lost steam (maybe because Molly is finally a developed character, not a tag along). And then there are the M-M ships which seem to obsess this fandom. In general pick any combo and you're fine.

Well, I'm finally back! Sorry for the long delay, but I just had such a wonderful time going about Equestria that Nightling matters were but on the back burner. For those of you who don't know, Candle is the absolute best. She deserves a human OC! :)
Going back to the topic at hand (ha, ha! I actually said that a few times, and got weird looks) Danny x anything is good (with the exception the sibling ships. :/ Those are just awful, and I don't buy into the "adopted theory" that some authors use to escape that.)
My favourite at present is Danny x Cassandra (I don't know why, but she's grown on me. I blame Bob! :))

@DaBoss: As somepony who's written a number of Danny ships, I can say Danny is the most shipable character. I know what everyone will say, but that's pretty much an established fact. The reason is that he's the central character (despite the series writers claiming otherwise) and that's precisely why he's made in such a way so as to get along with everyone else (take that as you will).
On a related note...
Will you stop with the incest stories already! That's the most boringly disgusting thing there is! I say this as somepony who has written my share of suggestive stuff! Seriously, please stop! Danny is NOT adopted or replaced, and even if he were it would still be gross! If you so much want to write such trash there are other sites on the aethernet! I'm pretty sure Lyra will back me that this isn't what we want the site to become!On a unrelated note... Pixel is so darn cute! (To quote WaterBottle:)) Last night he sneaked into my bed and fell asleep on the pillow. And the morning, he did the most adorable yawn. (I'm still upset I couldn't grab my camera fast enough to take a picture.) Party remains for tonight, just: no strangers and no loud music! (I read that crystal armadillos get stressed easily by cacophony.)

@mods: I agree with RRBB on this. Maybe update the rules and add a few additional requirements for submission? I mean we already don't allow illegal things, but I think we should move to not allow some of the questionable ones as well? This site is just too good to get messed up (and trust me I've seen some pretty messed up sites.)
@DaBoss: well, the only consensus is that ships are good. I like pretty much any ship if it's written well enough. (My guilty pleasure is well written crack ships. :))

Aww! That's what I wanted to talk to DarkSparkle about :( There are a few canon ships that are so obvious, but she still doesn't believe me. Blazen x Euryala at this point is a certainty. Also, I have a feeling that Megan x Everprince might be as well. That would be so interesting since it will break up the main cast (at least for a while.)
I've no idea what to make of Echo, although there are already a ton of ship fics with her.
@LightSparkle: what do you think about Icelos x Euryala? Shards of Joy and Despair is such a nice fic that explores that! I just love it :)

@all: I agree that it's better to have some higher standards, even if that costs us users. At the end of the day, we are here because of our love of Midnight Castle. Living out our fantasies is okay as long as we don't go too far.
I shall discuss this matter with the other mods and tell you of our decision.

@RRBB: I'm so there! And I'll bring my camera. I read that they like strawberries, so I'll bring some. I still can't believe how well behaved Pixel is. RRBB brought it to class again, and it mostly remained quietly on her desk for the most part. I ever caught the teacher looking at it secretly while we were doing exercises :P (And let's not forget SweetStuff and WaterBottle almost faint when it yawned.)

I want to stress that I absolutely agree! I prefer us going back to having 500 registered users than 3178 spammers of highly questionable content. I'm not a curator, but even I have seen things that make my stomach turn :(
Also, please don't think that if you make a second account through a mana filter we won't notice. Having additional accounts is okay, as long as you use them adequately. Please don't make me put in place a request-for-additional-accounts policy.
