//------------------------------// // Sunlight Chapters // Story: Equestrian Fanfiction // by Lise //------------------------------// Hello, everyone! Please don't get overly excited, but there's a chance I might have found five of the six Sunlight Chapters (in my hometown of all places). I was visiting my mother, when I decided to go through town and reminisce a bit. After a stroll I happened to see that my favourite bookshop was still in business after all this time, so I stepped inside. The main display was fill with the usual pony fiction you'd find anywhere, but in the back there was a section for old scrolls and books. Personally, I didn't think I'd find anything of use there, but had a go anyway. Imagine my surprise when I found Eye of the Winds (Sunlight Chapter vol 2) and in quite good condition. I won't lie, it was rather more expensive than I would have been prepared to pay, but well within my means, so I went on searching. An hour later, and thanks to the rather energetic sales assistant, I managed to find the following: Feather of the Prince - Sunlight Chapter vol 1 Eye of the Winds - Sunlight Chapter vol 2 The Talon Shard - Sunlight Chapter vol 4 Flames of Zephyr- Sunlight Chapter vol 5 The Dialup Scepter- Sunlight Chapter vol 6 As you can see we have nearly the entire set, with the exception of volume 3 (The Mirror Smile). I'll continue to look for that, but if any of you manage to find it sooner, let me know. @Luna: Can I have permission to make copies and share them, or will you be doing a reprint at some point? The TechNightling I love you! If I weren't married I'd marry you! How in Equestria did you manage to find those? I had lost all hope we'd ever see them. Are they any good? I mean, of course I'll read them, but please hint what am I to expect. :) LyraHands I was so sure I had copies in the library. I mean there should have been! If not here the Canterlot Royal Library should have had some! I'm really annoyed about this! :/ Oh, not at you, Tech! I think it's great that you managed to find them, but it shouldn't have been as difficult for any of us. This isn't a Starswirl scroll, there should have been plenary around! DarkSparkle @DarkSparkle: I think you forgot the space saving scandal? A lot of libraries boxed up "low importance" books and scrolls to make room for more substantial works. A number of things went missing and had to be found using alternative means. Some never were. Keeping in mind that the coltfiction (especially poorly written ones) never were of huge importance, I doubt there are any. CodeFilly @The TechNightling: Go ahead :) We'll actually be curious to see those. As it turns out we don't have any copies either... Luna Most awkward night ever... :/ What has my life become? My crazy Aunt seems to like it here and Simile is starstruck >: I'm tempted to start a long rant, but if I do I'll never stop, and I'll probably regret half the things I'd say anyway. LightSparkle @LyraHands: They are, for lack of better word, an acquired taste. That is to say, I doubt that any casual reader would enjoy them. You can tell that the writing style is a bit rough and pandering far too much to Griffins (in the worst possible way). For example, in the fourth volume we have the pony sidekicks replaced by a male griffin called. He literally appears and tells Danny and says "The ponies had things to do in Canterlot, so I'm here to help you instead." So, in terms of overall writing and structure I'd say it's a bit iffy. On the other hoof, the world building is phenomenal. There are far more sky adventures, cloud castles, and even a Tirek battle (I think. The centaur is never named.) If nothing else, they are a great source of inspiration and, hopefully, will be used by writers to make more original stories. The TechNightling Tech, my darling, I honestly hope that's the case, but I have my doubts. After you share the stories I expect a few writers to test the waters, then a rush of copy plaster will follow ultimately making little difference. Apologies for my harsh words, my beautiful, but work has been piling up and the alarming amount of suggestive stories has done little to help me relax. Honestly, I'd never my children come close to anything of the sort (and I don't have foals yet!) Please, please, please try to focus on substance than form. Grace @The TechNightling: That bad, huh? I'll read them anyway :) (I read Blueblood's published work yesterday and... sorry, Bellucio, but it's so bad! I reread it twice and Bob had to slap me in the muzzle to get me to stop laughing! :)) LyraHands @LyraHands, @The TechNightling: Can I review them, can I? It will be a while before the next chapter of Chosen is out, and months before MCE 14. I really could use something to take my mind off things. I mean there's nothing bad going on, but I like to keep my mind occupied because I get to thing about bad things when I'm not and prefer not to end up in such a situation. PrinceEric I think I can find volume 3. I'll need to convince a friend, though. Brush @Brush: Go for it! @PrinceEric: You too! :) I always enjoy your summaries/reviews :) A pity nopony else kept on doing that on a regular basis. :( Shows that you are more reliable than any of us! LyraHands Hey, all. I'm new and only here because a friend kept going on and on about this place. :P Interesting coincidence you're discussing the Sunlight Chapters. My grandmother used to read the, to me when I was young. (Don't ask. My family never distinguished between types of scrolls. If it was cheap it was good.) Anyway, great to be here :) GriffinGirlfriend @GriffinGirlfriend: Welcome! I think I can guess who brought you here ;) And I like to thank both her and you (for joining the Nightlings). It's a fun place so I'm sure you'll have a blast :) Be sure to read the rules and poke us if you have any questions :D LyraHands Will do. GriffinGirlfriend
