Wow, that would be a huge deal! I mean it’s unthinkable! I know that there are a lot of fics out therein which one (or more) of the grand9 die, but for it to happen in the actual series... and so soon after CEO-Danny died too. This would be... I’m so conflicted.
Who do you think it would be? I think Omni is the most likely candidate (Sorry, Omnifans). He’s already a prisoner of the Everprince and I think he’ll die fighting the armor so that Loki gains control. Or maybe Loki will sacrifice himself so that O,I could gain control? I’ll miss either of them if they go :(

@PrinceEric: No way! Whoever does, even if it’s Karl, there would be enormous backlash from the community. Hay, at this point I’m sure ponies will be upset if Cassandra dies. Whoever came up with the rumor thought just wanted to prank WaterBottle.
However, it’s amusing to think who would die if that was an option. Personally, I’ll go with the most unexpected choice: Danny! Yes, I know what you’re thinking, but let’s not forget that we’ve already seen a Danny die, and (if the principle is true) there has to be a third Danny somewhere, since he was shattered at some point. Therefore, I think it would be a nice twist to have Danny killed, then suddenly out comes another Danny and goes “It was the only way to trap them”.

I think it’s rather unlikely, but not impossible (as Luna’s silence shows). Generally heroes don’t die in coltfiction (there are exceptions), but with the multiple reality angle... who knows?
Loki and Danny were already given good reasons. Here are my personal theories on the rest (arranged by likelihood):
Eric: killed while rescuing Echo from the grand9 or vice-versa. He’s an interesting and conflicted character and has done things which he must redeem, so this might be it.
Megan: usually I’d say she’d be safe, but Lada has me concerned.
Bellucio: He has such a huge target on his flank that it’s only his appeal that keeps him alive. Molly, Computrix, Kalypso... all have a valid reason to kill him. Also, it might turn out he’s Poseidon.
Euryala: if anyone will be killed by a deity that’s her. It’s also interesting why she so fears Athena.
Molly, Blazen, Karl: I really can’t think of a reason for those three. The more I read, the less sense it makes, and that might be the reason. Killing either of them would get everyone else on a revenge spree. Since it’s the finale I see it happening.
Something else nopony has considered: Caprice. She’s pretty much part of the grand9 (and Blarice shippers still exist) maybe she’ll be the one to die? I’d be very sad if she does, but I can see it.

And seriously, as much as I want I can’t say a word until the final chapter is out.
On that note, I have a few announcements to make:
There will be a complete volume coming out in a few months. It will have full page illustrations (3 per chapter) as well as some character backstories that didn’t make it into the scrolls so far. We’ll start with a small quantity to gauge interest and print out more if necessary.
But that’s not all! A date for Princess Jennifer has been set! That means writers have been approached and will start working on the initial concept. The main character will be Jennifer, of course, but she’ll also have friends, including in the Crystal Empire.
That said, I’ll let you get back to your theories :)

If you ask me, I’d say that the character who would almost certain die (or leave the series for a bit) will be Blazen. We’ve seen how with each next chapter he becomes more and more distant from the rest. I speculate that he’ll go on his own personal journey (as Molly and Bellucio did) and will disappear, which will tie in quite well with his speculated Spinoff series.
Quite probably in the final conflict, because there would be one, he will use his evergem to do something massive, exhausting himself to near death. Euryala will then use her evergem to bubble the both of them out of reality. The next volume will likely start with Omni being back and the grand9 (Cassandra and Athena joining the other seven) lamenting him.
This, of course, is just my theory.
