I would like to announce a few changes. Firstly, as you probably know, we opened application for curators. I’d like to say that after over fifty-seven valid applications we now have a fine team that will speed up the process and diminish the waiting time. Furthermore we will experiment with something I would like to call curator specialization.
Now, without further ado, here’s the new curating team:
LightSparkle - head curator, all areas
RRBB - vice curator, all areasGrace - romance, drama, mystery, comedy
Feather - comedy, thriller, adventure, drama
Brush - romance, comedy, adventure
MasterOfThisAstra - mystery, adventure
DaBoss - alternative
WaterBottle - adventure
PlayedPiece - all areasThe general idea is that curators will give a preference to their field before moving to the others. Changes are very possible while we test the system, but for the moment we believe this would be an efficient approach.
Secondly, we have started a purge of inactive and small groups. I’m short, groups that have been inactive for a month and/or have five (5) members or less have received a deletion notification. While I am aware that this is far from an idea solution, at those numbers, members could easily communicate with one another using the PM system.
Last, but far from least, we are have started a visual redesign of the site. The aim is to make it even better, so the changes are still months away. However, since we don’t want to cause widespread panic, we are announcing it now.

@The TechNightling: wait! What about library groups? Those are inactive by default, and also in the case of my HiE Library, only three griffins are active to keep spam. I know for a fact that a lot of Nightlings read what’s there, since I get PMs about it.
With these new rules my groups should be deleted as well. I haven’t received a notification, by the way.
Edit: sorry, I forgot I wasn’t the creator. Yes we’ve received the notification.

Serious, I’m both happy and surprised. Better get used to MightyDragon sending lots of *yay* your way :) If nothing he’s persistent. I stopped after the tenth submission. Writing just isn’t for everypony.

@PlayedPiece: It’s supposed to be useful, not funny. How can you read so fast? Really? And just to note, you’re supposed to help authors, not just outright reject stuff.
Now that we have more, and hopefully active, members submissions should be curated in a matter of days or even less. Still, keep in mind that the amount you’re sending is insanely large. I won’t go through the stats so that I don’t depress the new victims, but there’s a lot of stories, and sadly that means a lot of bad stories as well.

Hmm, if you ask me it must be plenty easy going through them. I mean most of the good authors we know already, so we just need to skim through them. And the ones who’ve already been rejected plenty of times we know what to look for, so it shouldn’t be a problem. :)

Read! Your! YAY! STORY!
And read it before submitting! I’m tired of getting responses such as: “Yeah, what I meant to say is that...” If you meant it then they take a minute to read and do it! Seriously! It’s not that difficult!
Oh, and don’t you even think of curator swapping! That doesn’t work that way! Everyone free works on this full time! And by full time, I mean full time! If there were ten of us for every story submitted maybe we’ll pick and choose and you could complain (not that would do you any good even then). What is decided is decided. If we have doubts we discuss the edge cases between ourselves!
Sheesh! After everything I’ve gone through this still gets me furious!

Hello, wonderful Nightlings!
Sorry I’ve been so silent lately, but... well stuff always happens with me. I just want to let you know (sorry, Bob *kisses*) that I’m fine despite the family drama going on. The doctors have decided to let me go for another month, after which I’ll return to Canterlot for “the final stage”. Sounds so wonderful... I’m absolutely terrified!
Some good distracting news (or distracting good news?) until then: I can safely say that the doctors know what my foals will be and I told them I’ll levitate them to the moon (the doctors, not my foals!) if they told me :P
I’m also very glad that the site is doing so great. Sorry for not being around as much as before :( I’ll remedy that for the next month, though! I’ll be doing lots of reading and commenting from home.
And thanks for the PMs, but they’re becoming a bit much. I’m saying right now I’ll have to restrict them since I can’t read anything at this rate :( Sorry
