LightSparkle's Recap

I wasn't going to do this, but I made a promise so I'll do a sort of recap of some things so I will. (I’m not sure how useful this will be, but here goes.)

Before I start I just want to thank a those who helped put things into perspective (you know who you are). I might now have always showed it, but I appreciate what you've done.

@Simile: it might take sometime for me to get used to that. It's just a bit too weird and… I guess if it works for you then it's fine. Stars I think it's awkward, but that's just me.

So, recap…

First was the time in Ponyville. The place sure has changed since my sat visit. I kept hearing how everything is the same, but let me tell you it isn't. Houses are painted a different color, some buildings are a bit larger, things seemed slightly more organized than before. The food, though, is as good as ever! I so much missed that! And PPI, you are the best! Please jot down a few recipes for me to take home? I'd appreciate that.

The welcome was great even if DarkSparkle completely forgot and ran off doing this or that :/ (just kidding, I can't be mad at you). And thanks everyone for coming to help carry the silly clothes I brought. (SweetStuff, you're a real hero taking nearly a fifth of it to your sister. I can't even imagine what she'll do with them.)

Brush, you look different. I'm not sure if it's all you or CEO has changed you, but trust me you're way better like this. And CEO, you're a show off as always! :P I must say that the “kids” turned out much more mature and manageable than I expected. I keep forgetting that you've practically graduated. (RRBB’s posts don't help either.) in any event I had a great time, then a great party at Sugarcube Corner. The cake on the ceiling was a bit much (don't ask) but I'd do everything else again.

Next the trip to the Crystal Empire. Having your own train sure is nice, even if it was crowded. I've no idea who most of the ponies were or where they came from, but I just know there were a lot. TrueSparkle, Rarity, DaBoss, and I had to be “in charge” of a carriage. Since I was visiting I got to be in charge of the Nightlings I knew best (also I got to be at the back and away from the engine :)) All I can say is that the trip was great, but I'm getting too old for these things. By the time we got to the Empire I thought I'd fall asleep in my tracks.

The opening was a thing that happened. Having Danny was a nice touch :) I'd have gone with Megan, to be honest, but that's just me.

Was great to see PaintDrop and her changeling. Actually I found him cool in a gothy sort of way. I really don't see what the big deal is with him, also there's seriously nothing wrong with the stallion being a bit older :/ (Does anyone bat an eye when a mare is with someone a bit younger?)

Sadly the following day I caught some bug and had to spend it mostly in my room (thanks InItForTheShipping for the room, by the way. Was super cool of you, especially the arrangements.) Also, big thanks to Simile for the long and very awkward conversation. It did help me get a few things in perspective.

I know this is the place where I namedrop everyone else I've met, but there was just so many. I never expected to be such a big deal O:). The only thing I remember was the Butterfly panel. And for those of you who PMed me saying I looked really sick…thank you, I was. Or one point I almost fainted. (Not making this up.)

@CodeFilly, @MightyDragon: sorry for not being much fun at the party. It was nice of you and I like how you enjoyed the finger-spinners. (Yes, they were build for fingers in mind, but I guess you can spin them on your horn.)

And now for something surprising…

I went to see my mother. For those of you who suspect who she is, yes it's true. For the rest, sorry but I won't comment this in public yet, and would appreciate if you don't either. I’ll only say once I got rid of my baggage it was quite enjoyable. (Hear that, Mom? I said it! :P) Joking aside, I know some of you have strained relationships with your parents. I'm not one to give advice, but based on my experience give them a chance. There are enough jerks in the world for you not to try and make things work. In my case it did. I spent a much better time if I did (even if the topic of my aunt going out with one of my best friends was raised… I'll still say that's awkward as heck!)

I'll be going back to university tomorrow, so I won't be able to see any of you I haven't seen already, but for what it's worth thank you for having me. It's definitely been the highlight of my summer :)

P.S. Feather, you're on! :D

LightSparkle

@LightSparkle: as the above mentioned aunt, I'd just like to say get in line with the times! (Which is silly coming from me :P) Things really aren't that bad as you think. Also, I'm going to visit you in a few weeks.

ColdLight

@ColdLight: do I have a choice? This time get your own room! I don't care how awkward the results are! Your fun your risk! That goes double for you, @Simile!

LightSparkle

Sunny, I don't know why you got it in your head that you are anything less than wonderful. Let me say publicly that there's nothing wrong with you (apart from being on the sensitive side, and not eating enough).

You are my magnificent daughter and I'm done making mistakes…I hope. So anytime you decide to visit just do it. Besides I know I won't be the only one who'll be glad to see you.

(Besides, we can gossip about your aunt behind her back :P)
