It’s over. He came here today and apologized. It sounds absurd talking about it, but come it’s not the first time that it has happened in Equestria, and I would like to put this whole thing behind it.
@Celestia: he asked to see you. For now I let Twilight talk to him, but at some point you will have to as well. This whole catastrophe is unfathomable. To think it had been going on ever since Flurry was born.
Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever learn the whole story :( ever the Windigo doesn’t remember much if the past.

Unfortunately it seems so. Not ever Starswirl is able to give me any details and he’s the only one who really remembers. I guess we’ll have to accept things and move forward. The important thing is that we no longer pose a threat to each other and could accept each other and, hopefully, be friends.
I want to give him and Twilight a while alone, but after they are done I’ll go there and apologies personally for all the hard my kingdom has caused him. It’s a truly tragic story. He might well be the last of the windigos.

I can’t believe we almost exterminated an entire species! What madmare would do that?! If that had happened to me I would have tried to conquer Equestria without mercy!

Things always seem clearer from the distance of time, but I agree with you. I cannot be sure who did it, none of us can. Starswirl is convinced it was Sombra’s doing, but I’m ashamed to say he might to have been the only one. The dark rainbow corrupts all it tempts, as we have seen. Sombra’s ambition wasn’t the only thing that lead him to insanity.

That much is true, but I can attest that the dark rainbow is an ominous entity. The darkness consumed me almost entirely when I was Nightmare Moon.
I still wasn’t able to look into his dreams. That’s one thing I’ll have to ask him once I apologize as well. There don’t seem to be nightmares there, just dram shards. I don’t think even he himself knows what they are. Another mystery, I guess.

Indeed. Twilight was devastated when she find out. The act she puts for everypony else is good, but she’ll be hurting for some time, as will the Windigo. We must ensure that they receive a lot of space and support.

You’re telling me... I don’t even know how to process this. The entire reason my kingdom wasn’t swallowed by the frozen north was because a Windigo alicorn gave his heart to protect us. And in thanks his entire tribe was killed because of their magic.
Sometimes I think it’s better we don’t know exactly what happened. At least we were able to replicate the effects with a spell so that now... And we even held it on display :(

Yeah... come to think of it, if Twilight hadn’t gone all crazy and given her heart to him things could have been a lot more different. If he didn’t have as much feelings and empathy this could have been argh. I would have had to do something I really wouldn’t have liked doing.
Morning on to more cheerful and pragmatic things, can Blueblood go back now? People here have started to take too much of a linking to him, and I keep getting messages from Spitfire a dozen times per day asking how he’s doing. I’d never have imagined she’s so possessive.

Also, I want to tell Twilight she was right. Teleportation wasn’t the reason the rainbow didn’t affect him.
Now do we explain things to everyone? Half a dozen cities were frozen solid. That’s not something that could be explained away.

Sister... I don’t have an any announcement to make. At least not this year. We have already discussed this with Simile and decided the best course of action is to let Starswirl open up to the idea. You know how stubborn he is. (And he never considered me his start pupil to begin with...)

He might not be. Starswirl spoke of another tribe beyond the west ocean. Maybe one day somepony will go there are find out. Until then it is up to us to take care of him as our own.

Why is Starswirl such a *yay*? In all the books he’s presented as a larger than life genius. In person... he’s like the evil stepfather from the stories :/ Is it certain that he didn’t just adopt Simile?
