The Friendship Games. A time-honored quadrennial competition between Crystal Preparatory High School and Canterlot High School, wherein the former traditionally trounces the latter.

Of course, that tradition had been established before the magical renaissance. Now all bets are off, and both schools have prepared for anything as best they can.

Becoming the Spirit of Harmony has given Sunset Shimmer more senses than she knows what to do with, which is why she keeps most of them out of her mostly-human self. That said, it's an opt-out process; she can't leave out something she didn't know she had.

After the world changed, Twilight Sparkle wasted no time in making a clean break from Crystal Prep High. After all, it wasn't like she was leaving anyone behind.

Or so she thought. No instance of Twilight can totally avoid forming interpersonal bonds, and Dean Cadence doesn't have a monopoly on human decency at Crystal Prep. A few students really do miss Twilight. One is going to do something about it.

Even when Twilight caught up with her Canterlot friends, she managed to forget one of them. Now Lyra Heartstrings has the perfect opportunity to correct that oversight. The enormous, mysterious artifact from beyond known time and space is really just a bonus.
