After Princess Celestia appoints Twilight Sparkle and her friends to be ambassadors to Earth, they decide to introduce themselves to the humans by appearing in a horse show, but they need someone to get them ready. They call on Megan, the legendary warrior who guarded ponykind in days of yore. Megan has banished or slain countless demons, but can she convince the ponies to hold still long enough for her to braid their manes?

This crosses over with G1, but should be accessible to all.

Conveniently, a mare from another world will help her with just that problem, as long as said mare doesn't blow everything up first.

Lyra—a bit of a conspiracy theorist with an attraction to the occult—was otherwise a completely ordinary pony. With a recent discovery of ancient "precursor" technology and possible government cover up, however, she finds life has becoming far more interesting as she searches for the truth.

Blending earth pony and human magic results in a curious mix. While it still makes people stronger and tougher than the norm, the more subtle magics focus less on the bounty of the earth and more on what can be made from it, including semiconductors. No one who understood magic was surprised to see a technological leap come from an earth-aspected person.

Precisely who and precisely how, that drew a bit more attention. Still, who better to tell computers what to do?

The sirens are defeated and Sunset Shimmer has restored her magic. All's well and good, right?

Of course not. What begins with Sunset's friends wanting to have a very important talk with her will escalate until the fate of at least one world hangs in the balance.

The Story Shuffle short stories "Aftershock" and "Rock On" take place in the same continuity as this story. The background details of "Fish Out of Water" apply, but the story itself does not.
