I can just see it now, two powerful prodigies flexing their magical muscles, tricked into believing the other is a nefarious evil-doer. Lina realizes they're being manipulated and calls it quit with the timeout gesture and walks up calmly to Twilight. They talk and both agree to a ceasefire. Later, after the villain is defeated, Lina says she would have won in the end and Twilight disagrees. Fighting resumes, but legitimately this time, and Ponyville is a crater...

I have to wonder....with the connection of Midnight Oil, Codex, and Cosine and their airship...are Trixie's adventures with the Slayers happening in parallel to the Mane 6 with Kane (and perhaps his friends from the Blue Planet, in time)?
....that could lead to an exceedingly chaotic set of stories if they ever intersected. And Trixie is bound to become a powerhouse on her own working with Lina, even if she continue to focus on illusions. Misdirection is very dangerous in combat. It's a support role, true, since most illusions can't actually cause damage, but that doesn't make it less potent or valuable.

This feels like an adventure RP.
I like how she used each finger as its own focus or horn. Hope to see her use this for multiple simultaneous spells in the future. Even low powered, having more than one effect or instance would be useful.
I'm not positive but I think the Alicorn Amulet only enhanced her raw power as a shortcut to actual training and practice. That would mean Trixie at least knew the basics or theory for a large variety of spell types based on her magic duel with Twilight. If I remember right, according to Faust, Trixie did go to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. It would be interesting to see her make use of utility and innovation until she develops the raw power for the truly destructive spells.

Ok so I'm only a few paragraphs in but I got as far as Gourry saying "Yeah, I'm starved!" and because I heard Lina's lines in Lisa Ortiz's voice I heard it in Gourry's, but then I was confused because it sounded more like Brock from Pokemon, so I ran off to IMDB and HOW DID I NOT NOTICE FOR TWENTY YEARS THAT THEY WERE THE SAME GUY AND THEN TWIG ON SOME RANDOM MY LITTLE PONY FANFIC ok reading the rest now

Love that Trixie keeps her own culture, no meat, no modesty, etc., instead of handwaving that she automatically accepts and adapts human customs.
Good use of her playing a crowd and her smoke vanish.
Also love that Trixie stayed attractive and you use that to make fun of Lina. It really keeps the Slayers feel.
Overall, very enjoyable new chapter.

Wow, that is some impressive improvement from Gourry! Also Trixie needs to speak up and ask questions when Lina does something that worries her. Lina usually is willing to explain things to friends.

They are hard to find, I should have purchased them at a convention I found all of the OVAs in English sub and dub at last year. But when I got back to the booth they were gone.

Very nice, I like this chapter. Though I wonder what will happen when Trixie actually casts a real fireball. Oh and I just realized there was a Naga reference in the last chapter.
The bit about Luna's incantations though makes me wonder, will Trixie attempt one of them later on? Can't wait to see what's happens next.

Yeah, I think its something that has to be explored in any mlp crossover that involves this amount of destruction or death. You can't ignore how drastically different pony culture is from other worlds.
