For some reason i especially liked that last part XD
Also i am starting to suspect that you base your idea of sombra on Castlevania's Dracula. Fucker just refuses to just die and somehow people just keep on trying to bring him back for some inane rason.
HA! Freezer Burn taking a dump on what is left of the enemy forces left petrified by Sparkler. Also, I really wish we could see more of what happened at the farm. If only because it'd be EPIC!
So sunlight hurts bucky now...well I guess we know who's not the best princess.

I could totally see where a parallel could be drawn about Castlevania.
I drew from several sources. Mostly end of the world cults who hasten to bring about the world's end. Like those assholes who released sarin gas in Japan or the Jim Jones cult.
Sombra is coming to an end though. Very, very soon in the Spring Arc, we will see his dark shadow meet its fate.
But nothing ever ends as one expects. Sentinel has a test ahead of him.
6453944 I seconded that !
6454080 And I thirded that !
6454081 Me too !!!!!
Get out Pinkie, not enough space with us all already here !
6453974 until he gets incarnated in some other being's form who is reluctant and manages to somehow command his powers without reviving sombra's will.......
yeahp. they had that happen in one of the games XD
6454129
When it finally happens, you will see why further threats are no longer possible.
6454129 now i want to play that old castl evania game i had
soon 2M and 800
good to see Freezerburn again
Are we gonna get a Black Cloak Files chapter covering the fight at the house then? Cause it seems a shame to basically skip over what must have been an epic battle.
6454314
Said NONE of the attackers ever !
6454432
Nobody ever loves eldritch abominations that can scare a draconequus.
6454486 Then clearly I'm not a person...
Lyra: See that statue honey?
Harper: Yup!
Lyra: That's what happens to people that try to hurt our family.
Harper: Or ZAP ZAP!
Lyra: Yes, or Zap Zap.
Berry: I wonder if we should leave them up for when Pina and the rest bring home colts to meet their Father?
Bucky: *Cackling intensifies*
Ok, the next three chapters just have to be less than 7496 words total (that's about an average of 2498 each) to hit 2 million words on chapter 800.
6453962
I'll fight you. Come at me brony!
6454379 I agree

What bothers me about it is the fact that it's composed entirely of cliches, and the kind of cliches I absolutely loathe.
Continuing from the previous chapter, we had Bucky giving in and feeding. Now with the crystal unicorn that keeps regenerating. You said trying to freeze him would be as effective as freezing a rock. That would still work. At absolute zero molecular movement stops. Now while I doubt Bucky could make it THAT cold, make the unicorn cold enough and all it's movements should become sluggish still. Magical restraints exist, so exactly why is it a black ops force that might be keen on capturing individuals for interrogation didn't think to bring some? After all this time such a thing should be part of their standard equipment loadout. They may not be able to stop him from regenerating, but they could physically restrain him easily enough and then neutralize his magical threat.
Instead we get "Bwahahahaha! This was our plan all along! Your only choice is to do things the way we want, as was intended from the beginning!" No, that's just a bad cliche in my mind.
For the supposed Alicorn of War, who's supposed to be able to make note of his opponents strengths and weaknesses (so why didn't he see the way to neutralize the crystal unicorn here instead of going along with the enemy's plan...?), Bucky has a really shite record when it comes to encounters with the enemy. When was the last time things didn't go horrifically wrong for him?
Then we find out about the attack on the farm. The ever popular, ever overused/abused "While you were busy here we attacked your home" cliche. I've seen that so many times it's become downright repulsive for me.

Tell me, who would win in a fight?
Mister Freeze or the Ice Man? See, we're heading for a comic book argument here. Or, allow me to rephrase. Who would win in a battle of entropic cold spells... Bucky, who was in a highly weakened state, or Sombra, who was doing rather well for himself?
I was hesitant to point this out, because it was so obvious, but I guess I had to drag this out into the open. This is why the idea for freezing it would just not work. As for other methods, even multiple disintegration spells weren't doing much. Had Bucky managed to have completely disintegrated the body, there would have been spontaneous regeneration. A teeny, tiny little crystal would have formed, a microscopic particle, and then there would soon be a new corrupted crystal unicorn to deal with.
As for magical restraints... unlikely. To make the magic stop, you'd need to end it at the source, which would mean going after Sombra himself. Do you think that such a thing would have been possible?
The corrupted crystal unicorn wasn't a pony. Think of it as a projector. At least, in a sense. It exists to project the magic of another. If you were to somehow subdue it, like, say, trapping it in a box, Sombra would cease animating it and begin work on a replacement. You see, what isn't mentioned here in the chapter is that Sombra has learned from the first two crystal unicorns and their losses.
Even petrification would NOT have worked as Bucky might have thought. Had the corrupted crystal unicorn been petrified, Sombra would have simply abandoned that mass of crystal and work on causing a new one to grow.
So then, tell me, how does one stop an enemy like this?
As an aside, there was no way that I could have added certain knowledge to the chapter. No way to fully explain what was going on.
It was a foe that Bucky was capable of beating. Sombra knew that Bucky's self sacrificing nature would be his undoing. It was an exploit of character.
6457096 So wait Sombra is technically alive? Except in a million pieces? How does that even work?
6457265
Sombra's fell shadow exists. I can't explain more, because that would be spoilers. Sentinel is about to begin his grand adventure though.
6456257 I think that's the point of the chapter. No one's stopping you from reading it anymore. I've been reading since the first chapter and i still find it a good read...unlike one story i found, read and felt dumber from just reading the first few word and i will never say it's name. It's that bad. But back on topic: If you don't want to read it anymore, that's your choice. No is forcing you. So what if it has cliches you hate? You're suppose the enjoy the storyline, not nitpick EVERY little detail. That kind of response from folks is something i don't take kindly too. I used to write fanfiction and stopped after i finished my last story a few years ago. One of them was so bad, i almost deleted it but i kept it as a reminder that i can improve if i work on it
6457096
So it wasn't just a corrupted crystal unicorn, but Sombra himself? Well this is news to me because I was under the impression said crystal unicorn was only empowered by a small portion of Sombra's shadow. So who's going to win. 1/100th of ice man, or Mr. Freeze?
I wasn't thinking destroying the body, I was thinking immobilizing it. The point was to retreat or incapacitate, not obliterate. Either would have worked to let everyone leave without casualties among the shadowbolts.
So despite having the advantage of being able to physically overpower the corrupted crystal unicorn, stripping the unicorn of it's ability to use magic to retreat would have been pointless?
Wow I didn't realize that crystal unicorn bodies were that commonplace to find.
Which would have worked to give everyone time to retreat or form a better game plan. I don't think simply growing a new crystal body from scratch would be a trifling matter.
By the same methods I've already suggested because nothing you've said has convinced me of anything different. It doesn't sound like valid reasoning, it sounds like you're trying to rationalize the choices of the chapter.
Convenient.
Self sacrificing as he may be, that doesn't mean he has to be outright stupid and fall into blatant traps at every opportunity.
6457889
As far as regrowing a new body, it would have only taken mere moments. Sombra was just a short distance away, controlling everything through the mirror. Which is why there were visible instances of teleportation.
6457428
No one's making you read my comments or reply to them either.
Good for you. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I enjoy most of the Chase as well. Does that surprise you?
Really? You think I nitpick EVERY little detail? Clearly you know me so well. I am impressed. *slow clap*
That's nice. I'm supposed to care why?
Mind telling me where they are so I can leave some more insightful feedback?
Huff... *cough* Finally I made it... *pant* seven ... hundred... ninety... six...chapters. *refreshes page, sees next button* Dagnabit, the finish line moved again.
Bucky hadn’t even cleared the porch yet when he started to smoke. On his right front leg, blisters boiled and bubbled up from his skin. He hissed in pain, wishing he could be indoors. At least he wasn’t bursting into flames anymore.
This seems to be a tad bit more than heliophobia......
