Every chapter has typos. It's the herpes of the literary world.
Sorta like glitter.
Should be '...and second...'.
I'm halfway expecting Bel to start making particular cat-type sounds here shortly... she's definitely starting to show more of an attraction to Bucky. I do like the way she's shaping up, and I also liked the way Bucky broke down in this chapter. It can be comforting to the others that he's not completely gone around the bend.
I'd put a period after 'worrisome', myself. Might just be a matter of taste on this one.
Strike 'also', you hadn't described the wall coverings before.
stared at

a pillow case
5220377 When I see glitter in my room it is usually from light bulbs that I have thrown across the room.
Was great! Glad to see that Bucky is still a pony after all he has been through.

Oooo! Lethal prettiness!!!
5220511 It makes your feet look pretty bloody!
.......... some reason this thought is coming to my head.
diamond dog deserter- i am fuckin out!
diamond dog- what?! you can't just bail on us here.
deserter- watch me. i ain't sticking around with those deranged pussy feathers. i saw one o them pecking the eyes out of a severed foal head. them muttering to themselves is bad enough, writing shit all over the walls. but i ain't puttin up with this. they eat things that think. you eat something that thinks it gets inside of your head and makes you insane. what are we doin here?
diamond dog- because they have guns. putting up with that cannibal nonsense gotta be worth.........
deserter- 'sounds of wood snapping and metal bending' fuck these things. anything made by those devils ain't worth anything. i'm out.
diamond dog- you are gonna regret this!
four days later
Deserter- 'looks up at the giant battle blimp in the sky' yeahp, i am SOOOO regretting not staying......... gonna regret more just letting me buds die in there though.
That is... arguably a good thing, all told.
5220541
Afterwards, he cracks open a beer and howls for the fallen.

5220606
This line reminded me of the last panel of this comic. http://druids.thecomicseries.com/comics/171
5220606 thinkin more tries to get as manydiamon dogs outta there as he could while avoiding the sauron pony and oversized gryphon.
5220630
Hmm, Bucky as the Sauron pony... I dunno. He just cried about seeing severed foal head that still had eyes that stared at him.
5220636
But isn't that one point of being a pony? He can be like a monster when needed but he is still a pony on the inside and a very emotional pony at that. Making him, by far, the best pony for the path laid out for him. Keep up the good work and thanks so much for this painfully deep story.
5220636 just saying what he would be looking like to this diamond dog and anyone else in general.
then again i am not sure about the overall diamon dog disposition here. though i have a strong feeling pretty much none of them wanted to be there long before bucky and lugus began tearing people apart. it just has to have been a horror show for them as much as it was for bucky.
The foal looked like Dinky...
...
...
I...
I don't know what to say, that's just horrible you mean terrible man. Of all the things, the head in the fridge looked like his daughter. And the worst part? It makes sense. Seeing that would break the toughest person down. It doesn't discourage my readership, but maybe a trigger warning in the chapter title would be nice. Something like, this chapter is darker than dark chocolate, you have been warned. This is definitely the darkest chapter since the isles.
5220805
Yes, it is a classic demonstration of fridge horror.
5220805
I didn't include the warning because I wanted the emotional gutcheck to happen. I wanted people to feel what Bucky was feeling.
5220873 so mean
5220873 we, regardless of my comments on your evil deeds, your desired effects were achieved. Quite successfully in fact. have a moustache in honor of your brilliantly dark writing.
5220876
The reader needs a reminder occasionally that underneath it all, Bucky still has frail moments and feelings.
5220906 I thought that was pretty obvious from how he interacts with his foals and wives? I enjoy dark moments because they are revealing and character building, but I never once thought of Bucky as invulnerable nor emotionless. Just tougher than most in both regards.
I've seen hardened war veterans cry at the sight of a hurt kitten.
It's sad when one has to stop his killing due to lack of ammunition
5221003 Lots of people try to act like they understand how fragile the mind is. I mean, I'm writing this paragraph, aren't I? It's not as black and white as people think and sometimes it's just not as complicated as people think. It's always sort of a mystery on how trauma will affect a person. There's so many outcomes you'll always be in for a surprise. Most importantly, when put on the spot, it'll be a little hard not to pity someone who breaks down like that, but you've got to try. Sometimes feeling sorry for them is insulting and just makes them more aggressive. Find a way to meet them half way on some kind of agreement or condolence. An emotionally scared man isn't something you bat an eye at. But you, the reader of this paragraph, already knew that. Still doesn't make it any less true.
Now you've got me really confused.
Lever-action rifle, twelve round detachable magazine, accurate out to one mile? Doesn't sound like any rifle I've ever heard of. That said, I'm not exactly an authority when it comes to lever-actions. Are you basing this off of a real-world model, or is this just something you came up with that made it into the story?
All things considered, I guess we should be glad it is fed by a detachable (implies a box type, correct?) magazine. If this thing is using rounds comparable to modern rifle ammunition, a tube magazine could be disastrous?
Hey you want to know something about the Chase, it's only 19 (as of this comment) comments away from being the Second most commented on story on the entire site and it's the Tenth longest story on the entire site as well. Well done Kudzuhaiku , well done indeed.
5221243
Based on real world designs. Pictures were posted in the comments section a few chapters back.

5221356 with a suppressor!
Okay, okay, Belisama is starting to grow on me...
5221356 Okay, now the design makes sense. I was thinking of something more like the old Winchester '73. I wonder if the empire's history of firearm development stretches as far back as their madness. I would have been a bit less surprised if you had gone with something modeled after the Mosin-Nagant M91/30 though.
-Bolt-action
-Effective
-Simple, easily maintained
-Well sized for large griffons
-Long range capable
-Chamber the size of my middle finger
-Mounts an 8-inch spike bayonet
Actually kinda sounds like something the griffons might design.
Couple of chapters back, but I've been wondering lately just how much influence Equestria had on the whole 'Global ban on guns' thing. And their reasons.
Equestria, as a nation (formerly) lead by an alicorn/the unicorn houses, would have been sitting pretty comfortably on top of the food chain. Their insane access to magic would have been pretty much the decider in any conflict or any negotiation with other races. While the invention of the crossbow would have changed things a little, they're still not going to have the effect that they had on our history. They're slow to fire and their low energy would mean that their impact on a shield would be pretty minimal.
Suddenly, someone creates a gun. Something that hits hard enough to cause real damage to a shield, and depending on the design could be easy and quick to reload. Means that unicorn shields wouldn't be nearly as effective as they once were, and puts significantly more power into the hooves/paws/talons of non-unicorns.
We know now that Celestia isn't quite the "wonderful old mother" figure she puts out, judging by the rather ruthless way she's exploited the Crystal Ponies lack of knowledge about how valuable coal and other natural resources are. I can certainly imagine her and the Equestrian government 'leaning' on other countries to sign the global ban, or face their wrath.
Guns are to unicorns, what crossbows were to knights of old. And unicorns didn't want to lose their place on the top.
5221617
Other immortals got involved in the guns ban. The Fates. Scorch. Death.
More on this earlier and later.
Finally learning, the griffons should learn that Bucky HATES titles, Bucky just likes being called Bucky.
What I love about The Chase, these little things that just makes sense and you wouldn't find in MANY other stories. Written out, warts and all.
Bucky May be a badass, but still he's a pony.
Extreme recoils may be able to be used for swift maneuvers, like the "force a nature" from TF2, like a booster, just ideas.
5222132
And Bucky needs to learn that some titles are offered out of reverence and love. Two way street.
In The Chance, we see that Bucky is quite comfortable with the word Master and he calls Sunset Shimmer Minion.
5220849
-strangles you-
5222276
That's cold.
5222331
Soon as I'm finished strangling this one's puns, you're next!
5222335
You need to cool off.
5222396 Kudzu already stated that he despises anything anthro, or even slightly anthro. So my bits aro on the FURIES, not anything furry.
5222433 You mean Anthropomorphic, because I'm pretty certain that Bon Bon is Furry (Fluffy.)
This is why Belisama is one of my all time favourite characters in the verse. Vicious in her vengeance , yet she still cares.
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score
this song is surprisingly appropriate for Belisama
Griffons: Hey, our new king is a slave and is super awesome, we could make a religion out of this!
*Years later*
Griffon Pastor Tawny: AND SO TODAY, WE CELEBRATE THE FOUNDING OF OUR HUMBLE CHURCH! PRAHIZE BE TO THE LORD OF WINTAH! PRAISE BE TO LORD BUCKY!
