Was about to be screwed...
Mm! Because it's about the equine species. I see.
Maybe a real statement of fact that it's essentially all about how the species relate to ponies, maybe a biased statement where three distinctly pony gods talk about how the importance of every other species only matters on the grand scale how they relate to their species.
Heheheheheh. What was that nickname he earned? "The Shotgun Rapist"?
6307749
And, of course, the line blurs between "bias" and "fact" when you're talking about three gods who hold a huge amount of influence on the world, and at least one (the fate) that can essentially control others future.
6307749
Maybe.
Maybe it has something to do with this:
Maybe it has nothing to do with equines, but more to do with personal choices and the equines are incidental. Perhaps a former earth pony wanted to understand the hows and whys of everything that just goes wrong. Maybe there are bigger, better questions at stake here.
I love any chapter that involves the three sisters (or in this case, one of the sisters plus the brother). Plus a reference to ole' Rye Mash? Double like.
6307733 Great so BuckyxTwilight is now a thing.
6307820
What? No... not at all.
6307798
But she didn't say "How they are protectors of the world" she said "Of the equine species."
Maybe, in the big overall global, how they relate to everyone, themselves included, is why they get cutie marks.
But that's not what Atropos said. I'd have to go out of my way and assume she is either lying to others or herself to draw that conclusion from her words here.
6307848
Atropos has her own agenda, as we all know.
But, and this is a pegasus plot sized but... there is a grain of truth in what she says.
6307821
You made this comment about and Interaction between bucky and twilight.
Your argument is invalid.
6307870
Well, that's what I'm mostly concerned about. The Omnicorn is a pony. The personification of death is a pony. The personification of fate are ponies. Ponies control Magic, Love, Growth, War, the Sun and Moon... No other race can really claim to control much of anything, especially not in ones that are active in the world.
We have no idea what the mass unknown set of immortals are, and for certain some are other races, and some are not races at all (see: Scorch, who is not really a race of anything), but... Well, it's entirely possible the Omnicorn created a world, put his favorite race in this (supposed to be) balance... then decided to make other races and decided their roles entirely in relation to his favorite.
*edit: Impossible to possible. That inverts the meaning of that sentence completely. Whoopsie.
6307885
In the story, Twilight was about to be married.
Screwing happens after marriage. And sometimes before. Context mang, context.
orgasmic?
yay! sex typos!
6307890
But we do know that there are other races. Draconequus, demons, things from other dimensions, humans...
Atropos needs to watch that temper a bit. Being that angry is only rarely helpful.
6308058
But those are words of sisterly love.
6308059
Yeah but it's the millenia-old-argument grudge-bearing type of temper that I'm worried about. That kind of old, set in ways temperment didn't do Celestia many favors and left a rift between her and all of her siblings that has only recently begun to heal. The contrast of Luna's new outlook after her rebirth highlights how much baggage the various alicorns are carrying.
6307922
Are there Spathi? Please tell me there are Spathi.
Failing that, Zoq-Fot-Pik would also be nice.
6308078
Thanatos teases his sister, calling her Morta, which sets her off. He calls her a bitch to her face. She calls him every dirty name you could think of. It looks really, really bad, I'll admit, but is an antagonistic relationship that allows both of them to blow off stress by taking pot shots at one another.
In short, it isn't as bad as it looks.
6308095
Yay.
6308116
What does one do when the gods of your world are all dysfunctional?
6308156
Look to the Greeks for inspiration?
6308164
6308156
Be glad they arent as sexed crazed as some of the pantheons we have had? I mean look at Zeus, That dude fucked EVERYTHING! Poseidon turned into a horse to fuck Medusa. And don't get me started on some of the shit involving the Egyptian Gods.... Or the Norse.
this. this more or less is everything i find uncomfortable and confusing whenever gods are brought up in this story. i mean holy shit
look! look at it! the griffon meaning of life! LITERALLY, THEIR MEANING OF LIFE!!! it is such a fucking foreign concept to me that i just feel confused angry and afraid since i have no fucking idea what the fuck to think! rage!? nothing tells me what the fuck i am supposed to do! my life! my destiny! there is no meaning to my life! there will be no consequences from it! i will father a child and that child will live the same pointless inconsequential live in this infinite, doomed universe! do i feel envy!? they have a FUCKING PURPOSE IN LIFE! IT MEANS SOMETHING! I HATE THEM! I HATE IT!
and then there is the other thing. if the griffons role in the grand scheme of things is to protect ponies then that raises several questions. 1, protect them from what? can't be daemons because ponies are the once most equipped to deal with them with magic and what not. hell, i would argue that griffons are the least equipped specie to deal with daemons. monsters? i guess it's possible.
2, griffons have a clear purpose then obviously all others have a role in the world too. minotaurs? diamond dogs? guess they have the same roles as griffons. dragons? Kelpies? fucking sea serpents!? and most interesting of all! ponies! i am all but certain i know the answer but we must consider this. the omnicorn was originally a earth pony who started asking questions and then created this world and all it's sister dimensions perhaps even the daemons which would fit my theory and put ponies in it to generate the answers to the questions he asked.
spoiler contain my theory, skip if you don't want to see it
it was all deliberate to get the result we now see unfold. EVERYTHING. he created the equestria we see the most, the mirror world, the human world and every other world all with the intention for all this strife and war to take place so that from all that suffering the most shining examples of good could be brought forward and answer whatever questions he was asking himself when he made everything. what this means is that he has Zero intention to have bucky kill everything. he manipulated celestia with every intention to cause everything that she did. averice, the old griffins, the mirror travelers, the night stallion, EVERYTHING has happened exactly like he hoped. hell, this might not even be the first time he did this! this might be the 4,865,342 universe where he tried to make the answers appear!
Jeez, the Fates are annoying
6308168
ZEUS! DON'T YOU DARE STICK YOUR DICK IN THAT!
Too late!
DAMNIT!
I think I'll call that a centaur. He looks like me from the waist up. Hmm hmm hmm... my little pony...
6308172
Griffons and their music should not be so quickly discounted. It is a powerful weapon against shadows... and demons.
6308156
Kick them out of office and pick new ones.
6308465
No worries. There is a reveal later.
6308333
That's easier said than done though.
6307762
The infamous shotgun rapist, yes.
6307821
But... It even is in the multiverse. BuckonequusXDraconlight Sparkle...
6307848
It's a thing that mainly started to bother me in the show, Griffonholm to be exact. Not as much here on the Chase, since differences and instincts are aknowledged, heck, are a main theme.
6308168
6308217
I suppose you both know this handy chart.
everseradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/What-Causes.jpg
Really Thanatos is the only one that can rib Atropos.
He can't die, being dead, so his thread is his own and can't be cut by her.
I'm pretty sure even Celestia and Luna could have their threads tweaked, as Twilight and Bucky have had theirs.
Even if it's growing more difficult to do so.
Though I still wonder what happens to the souls that die outside their world.
Does Thanatos collect them and send them back, or are they stuck wandering this world.
Perhaps becoming Windigo's? I don't think there is a Chaseverse explanation for those cold hearted creatures.
Hmm, since they are using his own weapons against daddy the sensible thing would be to remove those weapons. Is it possible that Bucky is no longer War?
6308217
Everyone here is yelling about pantheons who can't keep it in their pants...
And I'm just sitting here thinking about how this could have all been different if Belisama had been made a slave instead of a partner/wife.
6309312
She and the griffons would have replaced the spider golems.
6309345
Makes a brutal sort of sense though:
"Alright, these flesh golems already have lethal weapons on 5 of their 6 ends, so we just need a bit of mental modification to obey orders... a bit of strength enhancement... reduce that pesky free-will, and... Got it! Now, to start with a breeding program, we're gonna run through these fast."
Boy, am I glad we picked the happy ending for the griffons.
6309378
Nope.
Suicide run. Tired of slavery, Belisama offers to lead the charge. A willing suicide charge that kills many many little griffons, and further demoralises those back home.
Daylight!
Ok, moving on... man Fate is a bitch. Atropos needs to chill the hell out. I'm seriously starting to suspect something here regarding her motives. Also for someone who hates their father with an much passion as she does she sure likes to act like him. "The hunters have returned to Shepard the flock." My ass, just say Griffon take the mark of thoes they watch over. Stupid cryptic ass gods. Seriously am I the only one who thinks Omnicorn, is trying to call a bunch of kids in from the rain as they try to save their sand castle?
6308172
The creator of this world and all species on it was a pony in mortal life. What is there to be confused and angry about? He didn't do this out of the kindness of his heart to give freedom and free-will to living beings, but because he is performing a science experiment, just like humanity does millions of times a day or more. The ponies hold the Answers he's looking for to some great Question, and the other races were made to interact with the ponies in a somewhat pre-defined manner, likely to impose a certain level of variation to help nurture and protect those Answers, setting the environment, so to speak. The other races didn't come into being with the purpose of leading their own lives and such, so from an unbiased point of view they aren't entitled to it since they weren't meant to have it. Therefore it makes perfect sense that the systems put in place by the Omnicorn to make sure all the races played their role so everyone got along happily and peacefully without bloodshed and unnecessary strife would only work once they returned to the roles they were made to fulfill.
If anything, this is normal and expected of any experiment. If you choose to look at it from the view of a mortal who can't stand the thought of having to do what some omnipotent being meant for you to do, you will be sore and angry and try to use any justification to fight that viewpoint. If you step outside of that idea and look at it from the viewpoint of said omnipotent being, it's pretty cut and dry.
Which means there is no right and wrong here, just perspective.
6309505
Shhhhhh. My secret thought that the Fates made up that the omnicorn was trying to kill the whole world and they are rebelling over something else needs to remain secret.
Oh. Whoops.
To be honest, though, the only source we have on "he wants to kill us" has always been the Fates. Maybe Thanatos too. All the other stuff is circumstantial evidence that Poppa Pegacorn is simply cryptic and frustrating.
6309539
The Omnicorn himself told Bucky that he wants the world to end.
Whatchoo talkin' about Willis?
6309560
Ugh... I remember even looking at that scene back when I came up with this theory and figuring out how it fit, but now it's lost to the tides of the hundreds of chapters. Oh well.
6309572
185
6309506
From an unbiased perspective the omnicorn also isn't entitled to control them. The unbiased perspective simply looks and says "he has the ability to dictate their lives, so he did."
"Meant to have it" has nothing to do with it if you're not looking at anyone's viewpoint. That is the (presumed) viewpoint of the omnicorn, that they wouldn't be meant to have freedom.
6309578
The "technically not" is that he didn't tell Bucky to end the world. He explained what would happen if Bucky ended the world, and what would happen if he did not. And didn't explain the not too well other than asserting "it's just going to get worse." Then he left it up to Bucky.
If he wanted the world to end, and would stop at nothing to see it happen, then he would not have given Bucky this option. I'm pretty sure the omnicorn has the power to not give him that freedom, or to keep him in the dark to a degree that Bucky would never know he would end things if he did.
That's the "grounds" that the omnicorn, while possibly he was willing to let the world end and give out the tools to do it, might not necessarily definitely desire the world's ending.
6309623
Correct. And this is very, very important to keep in mind. Now excuse me while I distract you and ask you to look over here, please.
Published 1 year ago. Now has nearly 2 million words.
.....What is your secret? And how do you have time to live your life while pumping out this many words in such an impossibly short amount of time? And I thought whatmustido worked himself too hard without pacing himself.
6309702
I have other stories too.
