Hehehe. Bucky has something Truly horrible planned.
You must. The sick and twisted minds of your readers demand it.
Needs more flying, or a griff/pegasus named Boeing for this chapter... to recur in Ch. 747. ;) I am enjoying the changing view points.
So either rape bombs or... "extreme digestive aids".
6197164
The rape bombs come with a side of slippery lube...
I woudl say it would win the war. Without a base of operations, a place to store supplies and armaments, a place to rest or tend to the wounded, the blow to their efficiency as combatants would be crippling. They would either have to take a new place over or they would be forced to make a bum rush to their target. Both of these strategies are liable to fail, as they would need time they would not be given to set up shop again, and engaging in combat would weaken them all the more swiftly. And that is if they manage to recover any sufficient supplies before all hell breaks loose.
Since retreat appears never to be the option, they will lose the entirety of their forces, both the expendable ones and the more important ones, in this engagement. Not to mention losing a lot of money and resources from a completely botched venture is in itself crippling.
6197194
This time, your insight is fairly spot on.
6197209 This time? Hmmph!!
Though this all for nothing social mindset for them is the reason why i question when they have things like that ship a few chapters back. There is nothing more costly than a failed attempt in a war. The fact they have no retreat means they either take all the can or lose everything the sent.
6197220
They took out the entire forward advance. Thousands dead and over a hundred ships destroyed.
That's success by any definition.
6197234 It fell into the enemy hooves. Thus they lsot their advantage with that weapon now that they can figure out its secrets.
Won a battle but lost much more.
And as i said, they may have victories over enemies with that tactic, but the losses would be all the more costly as they will not retreat even if they face something that can repel if not destroy them.
6197253
It is an expendable resource. It blew up and killed hundreds. It did what it needed to do.
Now, Bucky is sending his own golems into war. They too, are expendable.
6197266 which is why they lost the moment it was captured. Figure out how it works and you can repel anything else they send. Or, even worse, the enemy could adapt what they discover into methods both less monstrous and more efficient and powerful. They used it as an expendable tool. The enemy will figure out how to use it as a backbone utility.
It is also why i question their successes as a concept. Brute force only works if the enemy does not manage to counter it, outsmart you, or has more force than you do.
It makes them a threat but i i guess i doubt how long this tactic would serve someone. For short term, doubtlessly it is effective and potent. Long term however is more questionable.
6197300
They seized a junk ship, slapped in some worn out resources, filled it with hydrogen, and sent it off.
The fact that a small part of it survived was unintended.
6197315 The msot important part though, the one that made it able to do what it did. Just saying, the unintended can utterly destroy a strategy. And give to the enemy too.
And generalyl saying that i have long been iffy bout this whole mirror traveler thing. Brute force wins only for so long. And they have obviously been doing this for a very long time now.
6197343
In their current situation of survival, brute force is the only thing that works.
It is their weakness.
go my minions unleash unimaginable horrors on our enemy. Make them regret the moment they stepped into this world
6197186
I would avoid the nasty details of the golem battle.
Write it from the perspective of an after-action report, or a debriefing.
We know what the ordinance does, both the purple and brown kind, so telling it all over again would be redundant.
6197186
...Ewwwwww.
Huh, would have thought Peekaboo's cutie mark was some sort of perception filter.
6197186
6198341
I agree with Commander117 on this one. It would go great as a debriefing of any 'survivors' as well as allow you to add more character to any Golems you want to keep (ie. scars, missing legs, PTSD, ect).
Also if done right you could add a moral boost to the troops and a little humor to an otherwise bleak chapter

(Edit: Added relevant video links)
The "Bliss" drug. There's one episode of Dr. Who where emotions are treated like a drug, and I do believe it was the "Bliss" one that lead to the fall of civilization due to some sort of infection that was transmitted with it. The only survivors were those stuck in a traffic loop for 24 years (or something like that).
The mention of the drug's intent being to make ponies peaceful and pliable, but causing certain members to become unstable and violent sounds a lot like how the Reavers came to be in Serenity/Firefly.
6198524 FRAKK, I forgot the Firefly movie !!!! Good call !!!!
As for Dr. Who, not a Whovian still, so, thanks for clarifying !
6198701
Bet you we see some of those "reaver" ponies before the end.
Dude.. I'm just about to start this. However before I start I have to say something, this is possibly one of the largest books in the world. Seriously, the world's largest book is 2.1 million words, you're so close... According to a couple sites I've visited, this is probably the world's second largest novel.
Now, the facts could be wrong, but even if they are wrong, this book is huge! And I can't wait to get started.
And with that. I read.
P.S: Break a world record!
6197186
Hmn, I expected something the opposite of lube for them...
I hope this works. Bucky is long overdue for a good victory.
6198341 it would be redundant... but fun
6198436 it better then without it dame... it should be without it
6199141 welcome to our herd
Could just have Celestia glass the whole valley. but that would be to easy. Hmmm... The Golems are a good idea. Be like using automated drones, albeit they have abit of sentience to them.
6199141 Welcome to the insanity. Its a wild ride.
