Sorry, Bucky. You keep what you kill.
Dammit Lugus!
Edit; Would Bucky abdicate and give the postion to Lugus?
this just keeps getting better and better, King Bucky
that what happens when you don't want to be prince Bucky, you end up as King
ALL HAIL KING BUCKY, slaughterer of Griffonholm
Ohoho, Lugus is too good at fucking with Bucky.
5205962
This makes the point quite nicely... and this is what Celestia had to endure after her sister stumbled.
One of the many factors that lead to the collapse that we saw in The Chase.
Canterlot isn't a castle, it is a prison.
.............. bucky did not need to kill all those gryphons, only fleshrender........... if the warrior king need only best the prior he could have ismply killed that bastard and disabled the entire situation very quickly. only fleshfrender and tannis father needed to truly die, even if they would have to kill gryphons to get to them.....
oh boy that is gonna hurt twilight and bucky if they ever realize that.
5205983
Leaving behind a group of mad griffons who would plot to kill their king.
Sounds brilliant!
5205943 Perfectly said.
5205988 they would have to be dealt with of course. however the results would be infinitely more acceptable than the current ones. a group is better than the majority. and the majority are dead. not to mention they could have more effectively and mercifull weeded otu those who passed the right to determine those who are truly brainwashed and those who completely regret what they had to do to survive.
so, so many more grpyhons could have been saved that way. and let us not forget that the majority of gbryphons are suffering from mental instability do to poisoning. if tannis father was forced to drink a purging potion, what would he say in response to his actions after?
5205965
He'll try... griffon culture does not work that way.
Last Several Chapter with Bucky and Twilight:
Bucky at the end:
Bucky just cannot Catch a break. Seems like not long after every blood path and killing of a threat he gets into, someone just wants to crown him for one reason or another. Next thing you know someone will want to make him Mayor/President/Whatever of Las Pegasus after he goes there and gets done doing his thing.
Now we just need Thistle to give Bucky a sword and proclaim him king of the kelpie.
5206013
There are no male kelpies.
5206013
Well, Bucky has given her his sword. And I am pretty sure she considers it Kingly. Does that count?
"so bucky how did it go?"
*bucky whispers* " im their fecking king now"
"what was that?"
"IM THE FECKING KING NOW!"
Celestia "that.... wasnt meant to happen"
5205983 Let's just do this bluntly.
Would merely killing Hitler have cured the Third Reich?
I laughed so hard when I read this. Great chapter!
5206020
Sentinel will become the first warrior king of the griffons that the world has any real respect for in about a thousand or so years...
And no, I am NOT joking.
5205983
They all had to die. They were madbirds, pony-eaters. They weren't being forced under Fleshrender's rule to do bad things. They were FREE to do bad things under his rule. ALLOWED. Not /forced/. They delighted in torture, raping to death, for no reason other than personal satisfaction. They all had to die. Every one of them. Only the sane are spared, because they have a -chance- of being good.
5205975
Yes, what Scrambled said. Too often I see people who, like the inability to imagine individuals inside of a multitude, have no idea how to grasp the fullness of power such a being is forced to endure, just like their inability to grasp what an immortal life could possibly encompass. And literally 99/100 times I see these same people just assuming that their flawed assumptions which do not do any of these things justice are being taken as gospel and written off for this or that, as if they perfectly understood - when all they really understand is the falsehood they created by their own lacking.
Scrambled gets it. There's so few people who understand what it's like to hold real power and yet still have morals. It's a trial of the same sort that Sentinel's going through, but on a grander scale. For Celestia especially, because all the eyes of the world are on her, as she stands on the strongest throne and controls the heavens themselves. Her /every/ move must be carefully calculated, or her image - what she uses as her influence in place of using the strength of her incalculable power - can easily be cast aside or sullied, leaving her no resort but to wait for all the mortals who remember to die of old age and wasting valuable time shaping the future into a better world for everyone, or to be forced to use that power and risk becoming seen as a tyrant worse than Sombra - simply because people who live in civilization don't understand what true tyranny and loss is.
5206024 killing hitler, taking his place and weeding out all of those who owuld have continued the corrupt policies would.
found wild typo
her => his
5206018 Oh sure, ruin my mental image of a parody of this:
5206028 Write faster.
I know you said no more wives........ Are you about to break your word?............. Please?

Go read the Belisama blog posts!
5206045 I am starting to feel like this is akin to attempting to clean up a pool of oil by wiping at the surface. It would be a very long process...
5206050
And this is the big revelation I mentioned in the Belisama debate thread.
So... wife or servant. She's cunning... but don't debate here, in the blog post!
5206028
Bucky:Well, feck this Noise. Senitel my son?
Sentinel:Yes Father?
Bucky:You're The Warrior King of the Griffons Now. Have Fun.
Sentinel:Wha-?
Bucky:Have Fun.
Diamond Tiara: I Get to be a Queen? ...*Faints*
5206029 mad birdies that had mercury poisoning to contribute to a significant portion of that insanity. something that was shutting down their capacity for reasoning. tannis father did not realize a monster like fleshrender would kill his son. this was a result of mercury ruining his cognitive abilities, giving him madness.
and they were forced to be the way they were as well. a portion of the right for example not only killed those who refused to murder their friends, but fed the murdered to those who killed as a warning.
bucky had to do what he had to do, not having enough information or wisdom to operate by. but he also has to face what he has done. that he likely killed more grpyhons who were capable of adapting, who were victims of poisons and depraved policies, than he killed those who were truly evil.
5206068
Doesn't quite work that way. Bucky has to die first. But yes, in a nutshell, this is what happens. The griffons finally have sane leadership for the first time in a millennium.
And yes, Diamond Tiara becomes a big part of that, and Moonbow becomes the protective mother to a whole nation of little griffons and not so little griffons.
5206082
Eh Close enough.... Wait. Even DT's Fainting?
5206028
I guess he can just abdicate. Sentinel is his rightful heir.
Or, if he can't, all Senty has to do is to pounce Bucky carefully, Bucky rolls onto the back and surrenders the crown.
Edit: Or I just actualize the posts before posting and read what the author replied.
5206084
Well, some perspective.
My cutie mark is a crown. I spend most of my life with it being useless.
Suddenly: QUEEN!
Ermagerd!
I'm an earth pony and I'm queen.
At this point, none of this is really spoilers, so meh. I mean, anybody could figure out where this was going now that it has been revealed that Bucky is their king.
5206095
It takes death.
5205967
To quote a favorite movie of mine...
"Hail he who has come from the sky to save us... from the terrors of the Deadites! Hail! Hail! Hail!"
And Bucky feels about the same way as that hero did.
5205988 ...... not shaming bucky for what he had to do, not saying he should have magically known that he could have done things different. for he had niether information, wisdom, nor time.
however the statistics, from the grptyhon madness coming from mercury impairing thier cognitive powers, tanni's father own complete incapability to realizing that fleshrender would kill his son a testament to that, and the sadistic policies fleshrender imposed to begin with, one thing can be deteremined.
bucky likely killed more gryphons who could have been saved than he killed those who couldn't be. and he must live with that. you cannot blame him for his shortsightedness and arbitrary decisions during this incident, yet you cannot excuse them either.
Shaking his head Lugus
DAYUM
Lugus get that temper under control man
5206028
Hail to the King, baby.
5206269
Missed an R
Oy...
Well... Not how I thought it would play out... So 4 more days of discussing who the king will be? And their new customs? And a new home?
I have found Bucky's theme song.
5206073
You don't really seem to get the point, so I'll leave it at this: This is war. You can't hold everyone's hands and ask them to change their ways. You kill any and all threats to the ones you hold dear, including future threats. Or whatever happens later on is your fault. Such as we see here... the griffons were decimated by the Equestrian Crown, and in a moment of mercy, they were spared. Now they've set up for war and invasion. They weren't peaceful before the mercury, and aren't peaceful now. ... Well, they are now, because they're dead. They warred and raided and raped and pillaged long before they industrialized. Long before they poisoned themselves and the land. They were /already bad/. They just got worse, and it got more widespread as a result of their stupidity in handling industrialization.
And now they're almost extinct. That is their fault. They thought they could bring war to War itself. Hubris, repaid in full. End of the line. Bucky has nothing to answer for, he did his duty, and he protected those who are innocent. He saved those he could, which is more than most could ever dream of doing.
5206375 THEY did not do that. it was fleshrender and tannis father. they could not choose their rulers, and it is the rulers who brought this doom.
and why does everyone ignore the parts where i say that bucky had to do what he had to do? i was never saying bucky should have known, or could have know, but what he had done is what he had done. whatever the situation that put him there and forced his hoof, it does not change that he has done something horrific.
bucky would probably claim the same.
I know what Bucky is thinking and how he's feeling...but I can't help but laugh at the situation!
5205088
I'm the party mage, though my character is closer to Twilight in personality. Though, given what we see her do during this, I think Twilight might have done worse to Tanner if she'd gotten her hooves on him. Just being forced to drink crown may have been merciful...
I let a quite few chapters build up and now I'm caught up. I only intended to read 2 and then crash for work but I couldn't stop... Worth it!
