Fixed. Thanks.
And yes, Sentinel is the night.
He is the goddamn bat
manpony.God I love this story... so cute... I got a thing for those tufty ears too
and I don't know if you were going for the GoT reference there... but The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors!!
hope things are getting better for you <3
Really would like hear more about the mainland and whats happening outside of the Isle. Feels like we have been cut out of the rest of the world for to long.
4602904
Intentional. Bucky has been cut off, and so have you.
The feeling of isolation adds a sense of immersion.
4602869
I do believe you mean Batmane?
Also, good intermission chapter. I can't wait for the next chapter to be out.
And so the revelation spreads. Knowledge blunts fear. Probably less so with magically induced fear, but still, nothing defangs the kind of fear the wolves induce quite like a better understanding of its nature.
I love the Night Watch. I wonder how far the effect applies. Could Bucky try to enhance Lyra, get her to cover more area? Could she teach the song? Better to remove the problem, but a counteraction is still helpful.
Looking forward to more.

Well, as I recall, his birth parents are dead. Even if he is cuddly.

Berryshine is Berry Punch's other official name on merchandise.
Sentinel is adorable.
I still would have preferred Courier be his name, but that is neither here nor there.
At some point I'm sure that somepony is going to use the following phrase when dealing with the fear the wolves spread.
"Fear leads to Anger, Anger leads to Hate, Hate leads to Suffering," Yoda.
It's just such a powerful quote. I have a feeling that whoever, or whatever, is controlling the wolves wants to keep everypony on edge. It's much easier to keep a group disoriented if they're scared to death all of the time.
Naturally, it's an amazing chapter. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I can see the future...the anguished howls of many, many wolves will suddenly be silenced forever.
Sentinel, future shark eater, lady killer, royal night knight.
A great white is about to turn a foal at the beach into a bloody snack but then comes Sentinel who intercepts the toothy predator before dragging it from the water and bringing it home to be devoured by his ravenous foals, much to the horror of his own herd.
At three separate points I had to do heart massage on myself to not die from the cuteness caused cardiac-arrest
Totally worth the read though
Ugh, I know Sentinel's pain. This was a nice chapter.
I don't normally say this, but MOAR (please... if you don't mind)
So...the wolves are being controlled, targeting unicorns, and being used to keep the isles in a perpetual state of fear and unrest. ...I suspect that whoever is behind this is probably a remnant of the sweeps, probably making sure that the Isles remained a hellhole so they could keep justifying them.
something tells me that family Bucky used to be a part of is some how responsible for the wolves.
Welp. I just checked. Cuteness Induced Diabetes. I hate you. Anyways, a surprising amount of character development in this chapter, this makes me feel happy, because bards. <3
4602855 There is so much win in that comment. <3
Derpy, dwarven, er, pegasus berserker has joined the party! Dinky, unicorn mage apprentice! Oh man. I'm in love with this story.
so cute
Now that some more perspective has been put on Sentinel, I think I can say I really like how his character seems to be unfolding. However, I did hope his name would be Barley, due to the promise made quite a while ago, making 'The Unnamed Colt' a perfect opportunity. Anyways, the story is playing out amazingly. Even if it ended here, I would be satisfied due to how much enjoyment I had gotten out of it.
4606033
The name Barley is going to one of Berry's foals when she continues the bloodline.
Sentinel is not of their bloodline.
these last five chapters gave me an idea that might be useful in real life medical applications. I applaud you for the fertile thinking environ.

And what is that?
4610509 the eye thing has been bugging me for a while. After thinking about a bunch of silly stuff i was teasing along ideas for ...well lets say something else. Anywho...i started plundering other scifi and fantasy that had appreciable means to fix the problem. Stargate always had the Goa'uld, who could heal cancer and support the body through most traumatic injuries. I also remembered an older freeeeeeaky game movie. Exiztence i think. Anyhow while blundering about on my own i idly wonder what would happen if an egg was used as a protein and raw material based to fix an eye. It has all the chemical stuff and several existing membranes. And in exitence they used modified frogs eggs to make all kinds of weird biological interface technology. So in short i mashed/melded the too. Need to spend time researching symbiotic relationships in due connection with genetic engineering toward the end of making real life sybiotes that can help people. (lot of vets missing limbs and parts due to IEDs, have a lot of family in the military) So yeah. that was what i came up with. Graft a jelly-fish-ified frog with biotech stuff onto an existing damaged optic nerve after finding a way to interface the two. Probably going to use graphene somehow. and maybe morphware and inorganic fullerenes, and maybe some way to leave a biological scaffold so that the natural tissues in the eye could be deliberately redeveloped due to chemical prompting and by tricking the modded frog to act biologically as a new organ section. The graphene can be adapted to mesh in between the mod frogs residual nervous system and the optic nerve, maybe be adapted to have a bunch of eyes as opposed to two forming an array. and then the biochemical signals can be passed through a filtering agent set in the graphene interface structure to condition them to a human norm while allowing for feedback. .........................um, this may be a bad time, but i want you to promise not to patent troll me. that is don't file the patent and sit on it so no one else can try. cool?

Chancellor Puddinghead was no fascist.
Also a democratic title.

Yo! You want a hug too?
BONE CRUSHING HUGS FOR EVERYONE!
Just finished reading all the way through and I will be honest I have mixed feelings. I honestly feel you rely a little too heavily on, what I guess would can politely be called raunchy humor, for my tastes. On the other hand the actual interactions between your characters seems real. The relationships aren't perfect but that's obviously the point here. They are actively working towards improvement rather than starting off all lovey dovey. I eagerly await further updates.
oh dear thats a lot of chapters............this is going to take awhile
I have to say what really made it difficult for me to accept this fic was the fact the ponies in this universe were sentient (obviously) but also still had animal based characteristics. It felt like there was a struggle between logic and emotions (me siding with logic) and this is what made it hard for me to really like this fic. Thats not to say its bad !
The characters are well developed in the sense of background, relationship building and certain emotional responses. The setting in this universe is well explained and detailed to.
It's just not my cup of thee. I came here for absurd comedy and got something completely different and i know the author has given his apologies and like I said before i don't really care or believe in this type of race relationships being an introvert i find it really hard to believe in others.
For those who are reading this fic and enjoying it I'm happy for you I myself will continue reading but will keep my thoughts to myself.

We're animals too, and we engage in all sorts of primate behaviours that we share with bonobos and chimpanzees. Among many others.
Should we not do this because we are human? Are we somehow above our base instincts? Our entire society is built around factors that come from us being primates.
Wouldn't an equine society have behaviours that come from lesser equines?
4636093 Fair enough. You do make a valid argument but still doesn't sit right with me.
Don't know if I'm being emotional, rational or just hard headed just trying to keep an open mind about things sins i don't believe in shutting down other possibilities.

When it comes to writing, and dealing with the characters we've created we are, in some sense, pretty much the creators and destroyers of the world(s) we've created.
In that respect... I suppose we could consider ourselves deities.

I just checked my 130ish pages of story notes. I'm on track.
But thanks for telling me that I made a mistake doing exactly what I intended. Really motivates me to keep writing.
Already had it. You just doubled my insulin intake, you bas—wonderful writer, you!
As soon as the young colt uttered those magical words, a new feeling of magic surged through the air. The currents of the magic were swift, light, airy, and satisfyingly warm. The two mares watched in awe as the magic started to wrap around Sentinel, as he rose from her embrace in the grip of raw energy.
His eyes flashed white, and a blinding glow emanated from his small body. The mares had to look away; the light was too strong. As it faded, they managed to look back at him. His young face had become fringed with an absolutely dapper beard, one that graced his neck and underside of the chin but stopped before it spilled over onto his face.
Atop his head, a stunning black fedora had materialized. It's mere presence put the two lucky mares in a trance, for they were witness to the true definition of a stallion. In addition to the beard and fedora, he had also gained a fair amount of weight in the process.
The feeling of euphoria saturated the air, almost to where it would condense into a cloud of Dorito dust. Mountain Dew trickled from the ceiling. He had become what he was meant to be.
Lyra and Bon Bon felt themselves swooning as they watched him reach a hoof up to the brim of the fedora. A gentle tug and the fedora was tipped. Once more he said, "Milady." The Dorito dust cloud formed. A torrent of Mountain Dew poured from the ceiling. The mares fainted, verwhelmed by the majesty before them. Euphoria had been achieved.

I like to think of the Isles Arc as a separate book, a sequel, where the atmosphere takes a very different tone (as far as things have gone)
they way they went after you
1. The.
Oh how I love music, American Pie was playing while I read this chapter. 8 minutes of musical goodness. And Strawberry Swing was playing earlier, *happy sigh
This sruff makes me wish I had a little sister. And not just because I would love scaring the shit out of her suiters.
Awesome job o this man, loving where this is going!
Freaking bat pone mane
4602855 Dat Lyra bard picture dough, hehehe, I approve!
And yes Woona, you are the night, our snuggly night~
I want to hug Sentinel. He is adorably awesome. I can't wait until he's a massive, grown up lunar Pegasus and Bon Bon still snuggles the stuffing out of him.

I'm 6 '4" and very well muscled. I have a sister, we have a photo of her smiling and happy over the mantle with me in the background, arms crossed and looking like I want to beat the cameraman to death with his own tripod.
The details the boyfriend gets on his way out go like this: "She comes back in tears, or angry," parent points to picture, "He gets your name and address."
It was around here that I realized that maybe it's one of Bucky's forefathers that's controlling the wolves, or at least, that it was one of them that set the wolves to their task.
The Typo Demons got into Kudzu's Author's Notes!! Have they no shame?! No sense of decency?! >=(
But...but i like this type of diabetus... ;^;

I think I just went from a type one to a type two, I can feel the glucose COURSING through my veins...
GOD DAMN IT, you make me laugh then you make me cry because of the fundamentals this story can bring. I don't usually cry to stories as a guy due to the fact it affects my "manly hood", but this story is heart touching even if it isn't real. I know this story is somewhat weird but weird in a good way. Keep up the good work, fucking love it. ;-;
