As far as Ragnaroks go, that one was fairly light. Especially the number of survivors. You were right not to use the usual term for the twilight of the gods, even if there was a divine Twilight involved.
Also, drama averted in the Bitters household. Will wonders never cease?

Celestia juggled the entire cosmos.
By herself.
That's a lot to hold up.
A politcliy correct chapter. I like it...
Was expecting explosion for the pervert... Was disappointed but not too much

I have to showcase character growth and development somehow... it can't always be explosions and slapfights. They have to show that they are learning from their mistakes and getting better.
Yah, that wasn't a real Ragnarok, in those everyone dies including the gods and the Frost Giants win. There was also no ship of doom made of the toe and fingernails of the deceased warriors. It was a close emulation, but Ragnarok it was not.
Jeez, Viking mythology is depressing. No wonder they all converted to Christianity.

In The Chase, the griffons are a bit Celtic and a bit Norse and a few other dashes of culture.
I wanted something comparable, but different. A parallel mythology where variations and variances exist.
Ah Celtic...I know nothing about them save I like some traditional music I heard on Pandora...
So spanner is wife of the two!! Cuuuute. Fan art, go! No, but all seriousness, this is a very cool acceptance out of nowhere. Didn't even see it coming but now that I see it I enjoy it. ^.^ I wanna see the moment where he's offered the position and the blush that spreads across his fluffy cheeks. :P
5973401 I think you missed the humor...
This was so much better than I thought it would be.
That bit about the magic music reminded me...... Will we be seeing the Dazzlings at some point in the future?
And now the Alfader has his Skalds. Perhaps the tree of Harmony is a shoot from Yggdrasil.
Hmm, the idea of letting their past die concerns me. One horrible truth is: thoes who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. So new songs are good, the future Griffons will learn new ways, they will grow and change. But I'm left wondering, in an age when the great winter ends in Griffonholm and the future Griffons return to their ancestral homeland what will the find? Will they see the scars of their past and the horrible path they once traveled? Or will they see a great civilization laid low by the Ponies, it's weak taken in and made to serve their conquerors. History is often written by the victors, and it would not surprise me if some Griffons end up rejecting Odin and his subservient future.
Obviously this my be a conflict for the future but I kind of like the idea that in the future Griffons will have to choose between war and harmony.
You know that was much milder than I figured. I had thought Derpy was going to have to remind Bucky that she can crack nuts.

I agree with this. Those who fail to learn from history will repeat it. They don't have to like their past, they just have to remember it nearly brought them to their demise so they do not repeat it.

This is actually a Norse concept... it isn't so much about forgetting history, but insulting a warrior by forgetting him.
By letting the memory of the so called warriors die under the ice, it is one final horrible insult to a whole bunch of bad birdies.
Say Stennulf the Stouthearted is a bit of a jerk and sort of a douchebag. You write down that a battle happened, but you kinda forget to write down that Stennulf the Stouthearted was in that battle. See, he dies in that battle, and now, he is forgotten.
The battle is remembered, but Stennulf is not. His history came to end and good riddance!
So the griffons are the vikings, in a way, what cultures do the other species of equestria represent?
You can't fool me, Ragnorok (or whatever you name it) is yet to come. But i like that you pit aldorök, it is fiting.
