But I have to work soon~
A fantastic capstone to the arc. We go from Bucky harassed by the town's pegasi to standing as a figure of inspiration for them, and everypony else besides. Eagerly looking forward to more.
Whatever lies ahead, I expect Bucky to kick some ass. Whether thats literal or figuratively is up to you good sir.
And so it begins, Yay!
Here we go, colts and fillies. The big one here.

Oh good, you had me scared there that this was the end of the story. Can't wait to see where we go from here. Despite what Thunderlane says, I doubt Keg Smasher's condition is going to be something easy to agree to, if only because you've said that the isles arc is going to be a long one. Also despite what the Sparkles might think, I doubt House Avarice is going to go down easy. Money talks loudly, and the Avarices apparently have most of it, and political power isn't something to snuff at either. I wonder how many other houses will actually choose to dissolve like the Evening Stars rather than side with the Avarices and attempt to keep their status?
I freeking LOVE this story!!! I don't care what the haters say!!! You got me all the way to the end!! (so please finish it eventually, or I'll have to hurt the haters!)

Thank you.
Welcome to the story comments, have fun, keep an open mind, and enjoy your stay. Things get strange!
Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?
Ah, a beautiful ending of (what I think is) a whole arc in the story, he started from da bottom now he here xD LET THE NEW ARC BEGIN! It will be glorious! For victory! For honor! For love!

Never choose a path with a white walker.

...What.
I was quoting Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series. It's supposed to be about destiny.
4445795
And I was being silly and quoting Game of Thrones.
I'm sorry mang.
I get a bit silly sometimes.
4445796
And I had no idea what you were talking about. Oh well, it happens.

Lich like abominations.
Maaaan that scene makes me wish humans had a bit more of a herd mentality instead of chimp attitude.
I can't wait for the next
I would uses the 'Brace yourself' meme here but..... :I
"wings closest to the heart" made me think of Closer to the Heart by Rush.

And now that I think about it, the lyrics work perfectly with the story in general.

pretty much sums up my opinion of this chapter
words can not describe the joy this sentence fills my heart with
please don't misunderstand, i am this happy because i just realize that we aren't even close to then ending and that this writing diamond will just keep going.
also, i have to ask:
WHY THE FLYING FUCK IS THIS NOT A 2500+ THUMBS STORY!?!
Random earth pony: *chuckling nervouslrns to his neighbor* I'm kinda glad he's gone and taken his family. The fact that he has enough power to hold back the entire town and that he's emotionally unstable had me up at night, and then there is his family.
Random pegasus: *turning to look at her the earth pony stallion.* You're glad, one of the most powerful unicorns this town has ever seen, is leaving. A unicorn that single hoofidly fended off the entire town to protect two foals all while not harming a single pony at great personal risk to himself. This town that not only suffers from monster attacks on a near weekly basis but is deeply involved in a civil war with the pony empire. And though the cause for the civil war is leaving what 8th stopping the foolish nobles from marching on us to "put down the rebellion".
*the stallion with a panicked look charges off to the head of the well wishers, waving at the rapidly diminishing train* PLEASE COME HOME SOON!
This is just great it made me cry

That's why harem anime exists.
Wow, okay, I read this chapter twice so that I could give it a full and honest review. So, here we go. This is the full moment when Bucky's change is noticed not just by Derpy (I feel so dirty saying that) and Berry. This is the amazing moment that all of Ponyville notices the change. It's become obvious that he's been accepted into the flock completely. Although the Pecking order itself might have to be realigned slightly. It's also the moment that we've been given the chance to notice how Celestia is even stepping away from the old traditions. Not wearing the crown, or her regalia, seems to state that she is ready for the change that is coming. It's stepping away from her own Noble house.
You've successfully brought all of the little changes that you've worked for during the entire story up to this moment beautifully. Diamond Tiara becoming sweeter, Filthy Rich becoming a more attentive father, and the attitude of most of the main cast of characters changing. It's been a masterful, and fantastic, step in the right direction. I applaud creating a wonderful stopping point for those who want off, and a great ending for the current arc. That said, the chapter isn't completely without faults.
While it does handle the transition well it seems to stumble in a couple of places. Nothing that really takes away from the joy of reading it. I loved the chapter, and the story overall, but there was a couple of places that seems uncertain.
Situation 1) Celestia and Luna's (I'm assuming) loss of their royal attire. I understand that it is meant to be symbolic. Hell, it practically takes a sledge hammer and drives in the nail. It sort of waves a giant flag and says, "Look! Hey Everpony look! Celestia is embracing the change that's coming! She's showing how she doesn't need the Noble houses anymore!" That's cool and everything, but there's already been several references to the change with the noble houses throughout the story. I'm not saying to drop it, or even to tone it down, but I am saying that it hits the point a little too directly.
Situation 2) Rising Star and Sparkler. Okay, we get it. Love conquers all. Disney moment is awesome and everything, but this is driving the point home how change has happened, and how it is through love and friendship that things must become better for everypony. I think that it's awesome that Rising Star is willing to go with Sparkler. I really do. I think that it's awesome that his parents realize how much she means to him. But I'd be lying if I actually think that a parent would say, "You take care of her, do you hear me? She is a rare creature, just like your mother." While I'm sure that Galaxy would be proud that his son wants to stand beside the mare he's falling in love with I don't think that he would be completely keen on letting his heir, his piece of immortality, leave with the possibility of never returning. I liked it, but it was little too Disney for me.
Situation 3) Lyra and Bon Bon's desire to join the herd. Okay, this is a nice touch, but it feels a little like something from Tenchi Muyo, Sekeri, Monster Musume, or Rosario+Vampire. I get that Lyra and Bon Bon don't want o shag with Bucky, but the fact they want to join, while in character, feels a little rushed and pushed. I would believe that they want to join. I would believe that they would want to be part of this huge family. Not sure if it would have come out at this time.
Okay, that said... I'm not trying to dis your fantastic story. Overall the chapter was amazing. The story itself is amazing. you have every right to be proud of the work you've done here. I seriously think that this is one of the better alternate universes I've seen for MLP:FiM. I enjoy seeing updates, and I will continue reading this because I enjoy it. Normally, I don't give that kind of critique or review unless I feel that the author is mature, structured, and able to look on their work and see if they agree with it. You've joined a small list that fit into that category.

Regalia... Luna left hers behind because she planned to be taken prisoner. Old tradition from here on earth actually.
Celestia did it because she arrived as a friend, not as a Monarch.
Pinkie Pie as we've seen left home at an early age. She was little more than a foal.
With Rising Star and Sparkler, where they are going, both are adults. They just don't know this yet. A challenge awaits them.
Bon Bon and Lyra, the important moment comes at the end with the two ponies on the roof. Realising they wanted to join the herd, but they were not willing to share the consequences of the herd.
That's a pretty big deal and something of import later.
What could possible happen if things don't go according to plan.
So yeah, finding that little flash cartoon was pretty awesome. It did make me think about what could possibly happen if everything didn't go according to plan for everypony.

No rock actually needed. Just a ball of telekinetic force.
So far so good!
I'm going to wait a little bit before reading on into the next arc so I can start clearing up the other long stories that need reading.
Great work on the story by the way.
Something I noticed. Earlier in the story Barly asked Bucky if he could join his herd, and he agreed. Now if Barly and Luna do end up getting married, would that mean she becomes a member of that herd as well?
I enjoy the story very much, but feel like it escalated very quickly.
4448197 I feel that moment would be really strong if they didn't say anything to Bucky, but at the end say, we should of went.
I find it quite amusing how whenever you put the typo bit in your notes, you always typo typo.
Great story. Onward!
Such cheese.
Instead of writing several different arcs in one story, you could have written several different stories, with one arc per story. Just a suggestion.
Do I need to read this arc to understand the story in the future ?
I really cannot fucking say it enough, I love this story!!!
I never see stuff like this in other stories, transitions like this.
It feels like a real shift not just another chapter.
The end is only the beginning. You have scared me author, but I've long learned my lesson on stopping. this better be good, because skipping is the last thing I want to do.
Ok.
So far the story gets 5/5.
Wish the story was broken into manageable chunks.... this would of been a good place to end book 1 and start book 2.
Bitch I'm in this for the long haul! Hahahaha! Oooooh man... man oh man... I am just, at a loss for words, I really don't know what to say to this dude, legit. This story is so awesome! I've barely made a dent in it, but this is becoming a fast favorite of mine.
Good show!
52 chapters down, 800 to go. I feel like i'm reading The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, only better and with ponies.
Whew, what a ride. Fun, emotional, gripping stuff. I wish I didn't have to work in 5 hours, but I gotta stop for now.
I greatly look forward to the next arc!
And so begins a Path....A narrow...serpentine path that paves the way down History. Will it lead to their salvation? or will it lead to a ever present pit of woe and Insanity? ...Only Time's slow advance can tell.
Pffsh, took on Lord of the Rings when I was 11, ain't wussing out now!
>darkness lies ahead
HELLO DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND
I'M GONNA READ WITH YOU AGAIN
Harry Potter was read to me as a bedtime story starting at 3 we finished the series when I was five (except the deathly hallows) I eat darkness like ice cream
Well i don't like the thought of darkness that will upset but i can't leave a story i started reading unread so i'll probably just continue on reading, hate myself when it reaches a sad/dark part and hope to god things work out.
I suppose my earlier annoucment was wrong
the events leading to this were only the fall down the rabbit hole
I remember the Shetlands
now, we are truly going through the looking glass
I have a feeling that fan art picture I saw of Bucky covered in scars is suddenly going to start making sense once I get more into the Shetland Isles arc. Time for some battles!
