Chaos against Fate

Kanto. Vermillion City. Vermillion Harbor. S.S Anne. Nightfall.

"W-W-W-W-WHAT IS THAT?!" A natural reaction from the Twilight Sparkle of the Human World. Space itself had been cut in half thanks to Cosmos once she received her fourth Andalusian Star.

Twilight, whilst being sent back to her world via the assistance of Glailie and Boldore. She and many others across the world had seen the massive tear in space, revealing the Chaotic Magic that had blocked out the stars themselves. All thanks to massive scissors the size of skyscrapers.

She had just arrived at Vermillion Harbor, which was thankfully free from any miniature Cosmos. All she needed to do was take the S.S Anne to Unova and she'd be home sweet home via the closest gateway to her world.

"Uh...Thanks for getting me here, you two." Twilight thanked Glalie and Boldore. "Glad nothing happened along the way. I'll take it from here."

"Glalie."

"Boldore."

"Won't they be everywhere else, Twilight?" Hisuian Zorua's head popped out of Twilight's bag. "Maybe...we should bring them along until we reach there."

"Oh. You're right, Zorua. Glalie. Boldore. Looks like I need a bit more protection from you two. Those small things might not be here but everywhere else. Think you can help?"

"Boldore!" They would gladly do so. Twilight rushed over to the S.S. Anne, which was already planning to leave especially with this massive rip in space. She looked up to the sky while entering the ship, worried about what this massive rip in space meant.

But obviously, it was nothing good.

Equestria. Train to Canterlot. Nightfall.

"A-Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Roseluck spoke as she and many others from Ponyville were on a train heading to Canterlot to meet with Cosmos' and hopefully put an end to this. And along the way, they had witnessed space being cut in half. Anyone would notice this.

"That just ain't right." Applejack shook her head in disbelief. They were all stunned by what they were seeing. "That Cosmos' has gone too far now."

"I don't think she did that in the original timeline. Did she get all six Andalusian Stars?" A petrified Cold Colt wondered.

"But it's pretty cool though!" Despite space being cut in half by skyscraper-sized scissors, Scootaloo and the younger ponies, felt as if this was absolutely beautiful. And some way, it was.

"What do we do about that?" Fluttershy wondered. "I mean, I'm not an astrologist or horologist, but that looks bad. Especially with all of that Chaos Magic flowing around."

"That's Chaos Magic?" Roseluck turned to her.

"Mm. It's what I see sometimes when I head to Discord's dimension. If all of that is up there, then something terrifying could come out of it."

"She's already messed with space. What could be worse?" Sweetie Belle asked.

"I'm glad you asked, my little pony." Just then, a familiar voice had replied to Sweetie Belle. Before the group knew it, the trap had come to an abrupt halt with most of them losing their balance and falling off their seats. This voice belonged to Cosmos.

Cosmos had shown up as she had used that same giant astral body while still possessing Cynthia to pick up the train. This massive cosmic hand had grabbed it as if it was a toy, removing it from the tracks. Everyone inside of the train tumbled, slipped, fell or hit their head against someone or something.

"C-Cosmos!" Fluttershy gasped as Cosmos' eye could be seen appearing within the mirror. She looked into the train, seeing all of the residents of Ponyville as ants at the moment. Just how she liked it. Many of the residents screeched before also backing up. Some held onto each other while others hid underneath the seats. But all of that was pointless as Cosmos' had reached a point where she was near her prime without even having the final Andalusian Stars.

She towered over everything nearby in this Chaotic Astral Form. The mountains, the buildings in the distances, the hills, everything. Cosmos saw herself as above everyone else and this certainly showed how literal she took it.

"Oh, this is hilarious." Cosmos chuckled while looking into the train. "Just almost an hour ago, you all were giving me trouble and I actually showed signs of visible fear. But now...not so much. It's you all that are fearful now but I've yet to give you any trouble. Until now, that is."

"Cosmos! You can just tear space in half!" Cold Colt screamed.

"Yes. Yes, I can and I just did. I don't need to be lectured by some child." Cosmos scoffed. "Right now, payback is due. I never got the chance to spread proper malice to you Ponyville residents. But now, I can have that chance. Starting now."

Cosmos was feeling extremely vengeful. She was already vengeful when she managed to return to Earth, but after the humiliation back at Ponyville, she had a bigger thirst for revenge than she had before. She immediately started spinning the train around with quickly hand reflexes.

Everyone inside was treated to a hyper-fast turbulent spin that caused them to start flying around within the train. They crashed into the walls and window as Cosmos sped up the spinning to the point where the train appeared as a mini-tornado.

They all tried holding onto something with Sceptile, Bayleef, Roseluck and a few other Grass-Types using their vines to wrap around the seats and handles within the train, keeping their balance. But that was exceedingly difficult in the presence of Cosmos.

Cosmos switched up, wanting them to suffer some more. She then tossed the train into the air, making everyone in there far more dizzy and bewildered than they already were at this point. Once the train had been thrown upwards Cosmos swiped her hand, causing it to start shrinking. Not everyone else was inside but only the train.

It was given ample airtime as the train was diminishing in size and space. Cosmos' goal was to see if she could crush them within the train itself. She stood there with her hand on her chin, waiting patiently for the results.

Everyone inside could see that it was shrinking. And with so many of them inside the train, the gap was already too small for them. Those who were close to the walls could already feel it press against their backs.

"It's shrinking!" Goh shouted while desperately holding onto the handles.

"Sure wish Machamp wasn't asleep right now!" Applejack cried out. After being freed from Cosmos' control, those who had passed out were currently asleep or unconscious. They needed to rest after that, but now, Applejack wished that Machamp wasn't asleep as his amazing strength could be used for this. "Sceptile! Keep the walls together with Frenzy Plant!"

"Sceptile!" To make up for Machamp's missing strength, Sceptile would use what was essentially his signature move at this point due to how many times he's used it. Frenzy Plant. These massive roots were summoned via Sceptile managing to touch the floor. That was all he needed as the roots emerged from there.

Immediately, these massive roots had slithered past the innocents and struck themselves against the top and sides of the train. As expected, the power of these roots managed to combat the shrinking of the train, however, there was a visible struggle. The shrinking walls were starting to break the roots apart with cracks forming on them. Even Frenzy Plant wouldn't be enough.

To try and keep themselves from being crushed, everyone came together, pushing against the walls. They would have to rely on their physical strength here. It took the combined strength of the ponies and the power of the Pokemon to even keep the shrinking walls back.

Cosmos found amusement in seeing them struggle. After how much she struggled against them, satisfaction was coming her way as she snapped her fingers, shrinking it at a greater and stronger rate. This made things harder for them ten-fold as the roots from Sceptile's Frenzy Plant kept breaking down.

"Hmm..." Cosmos looked around, noticing a sea in the distance. Upon seeing that sea, she decided to use that as a part of her malicious actions. "Aha!" With just the movement of her arm, she had sent the shrinking train towards the sea at the speed of a comet. Everyone inside was not only being slowly crushed within this diminishing space but they were also being sent towards the ocean.

Cosmos laughed, using her magic to see straight through the train, wondering what they would try and do to overcome this. But from the looks of it, none of them could do anything. Apart from one Pokemon.

Fluttershy's Bayleef.

"B-Bay...!" Seeing that everyone here was in danger, Bayleef's leaf of fate had kicked in once more. She closed her eyes before ripping off one of her leaves. All it needed to do was touch someone and that someone was Fluttershy. Once that leaf touched Fluttershy, fate had been changed.

A white flash enveloped the train as fate had been manipulated to the point where time had been reversed. Cosmos watched with her own eyes as the train had been reversed. Time had been dialled back completely, preventing the train from not only crashing into the sea but also erasing any trace of Cosmos using her magic to shrink it.

The train had been restored while also placed back on the tracks. Such was the power of Bayleef's Fate Changing Leaf. Everyone else had been placed back in their seats as if nothing had happened.

"That green dinosaur and its leaves..." Cosmos was naturally annoyed by Bayleef's Fate Changing Leaf. Because of its existence, her malicious actions that involve imminent danger can be wiped away for something safer.

"Hah...Nice save as always, Bayleef." A relieved Fluttershy lowered her head.

"Bay."

"We're not safe though...I still feel dizzy." Cold Colt shook his head while some of them felt like passing out. Cosmos approached the train once more as she certainly wasn't done with them. Bayleef may have saved them once, but the Spirit of Malice wouldn't stop there. Her vengeance ran deep.

Kalos. Out near a countryside. Nightfall.

Meanwhile, out near the countryside, the van of the sirens was currently moving at great speeds while also being chased down by the miniature Cosmos'. Vivace put the vehicle at full speed as the smaller Spirits of Malice tried keeping up with it. Some of them ended up grabbing onto the van, using their claws to try and tear through the metal.

"What's going on?! Why's there a massive tear in the sky?!" Aria wondered, wanting questions about all of this.

"It's Cosmos," Vivace said with a disgruntled voice and face. "What you see before you in the skies is Chaos Magic at its work."

"Chaos Magic?!" Sonata and Aria gasped.

"Mom?! You know who this is?!" Adagio pointed her thumb at the window as Cosmos' face appeared there. Vivace then drove the van next to a tree, causing the smaller Cosmos to be whacked by it, becoming collateral damage as she flew off.

"I do, unfortunately...The draconequus from another dimension. Cosmos. Before we were graced with all of these parallel worlds and different universes, we were still living peacefully in the ocean as always. However, I had once ventured somewhere during my younger years before any of you were ever born. I discovered the first of many portals that existed in our world. But this portal was not located at Equestria."

"Where then?" Sonata asked as the Cosmos' duplicates had ripped off parts of the roof, startling the Dazzlings. Vivace had then used her magic to blow them away via the flash of her eyes. The duplicates went flying right afterwards and the speed was definitely great due to how fast the van was originally moving, making the launch and the inevitable crash all the more powerful.

"It was past Equestria. Somewhere that I didn't get the name of. All I remember was seeing countless monsters such as centaurs, gargoyles and many more there. Either way, when I accidentally came across that dimension which was hidden in the deepest parts of some badlands, I saw her. The Spirit of Malice, Cosmos. it was downright terrifying what she was doing there. That is one of the many things I vowed to forget about and I'm glad I managed to do so with how long I've been around. A gargoyle by the name of Scorpan told me all about her."

"And what did you learn?" Aria asked.

"I'd rather not get into it. All you need to know is that she's downright horrifying. And someone you should stay away from." Vivace stopped right there. She clearly didn't want to go any further with information about Cosmos.

"Well, can we try and continue getting rid of them. As for the tear in space...I can't answer that." Vivace continued driving away from all of the Cosmos' that chased her family down. Her daughters had learned something about Cosmos from what she was capable of and who she was. The only thing to do now was to prevent her from harming them.

Equestria. The train to Canterlot.

Back at Equestria, Cosmos watched as the train kept going. Thanks to Bayleef, it was functional once more. Cosmos, in her massive astral form, started thinking of the next approach. She pointed at the railway, immediately combusting it.

A barrage of magical explosions approached the train from behind at greater speeds than it could possibly move at. Everyone looked behind to see the railway break apart bit by bit. Despite doing this, Cosmos was expecting Bayleef to use her leaf.

And indeed, she did. Bayleef's leaf went off once more, taking a piece off and landing on Applejack's hat. Fate had been changed to the point where a new track to Canterlot had been made. Bayleef's leaves were seen as being powerful enough to create something new for a safer outcome as the train had also gone to this other track that was unaffected by the explosions.

However, Cosmos could see one drawback to Bayleef's Fate Changing Leaf. It had a limit. The leaves on her neck and on her head were not infinite. She had already used them twice now with most of them coming from the leaf on her head.

"Ah...I see how it works now." Cosmos found out Bayleef's biggest weakness. A weakness that she could easily exploit thanks to her malicious mind and magic. "Let's see how long you last?!"

Thus, Cosmos started throwing everything at the train just to trigger Bayleef's leaves. She thought of the worst ways to go out starting with jagged rock spikes from the ground emerging. A leaf came off, changing fate as the rocks had broken into pieces before they could pierce through the entire train.

Cosmos had then created a massive hole in front of the train that led to who-knows-where. No one would know as Bayleef altered fate to the point where the hole had become fragile like glass. The train broke through the hole, shattering it into pieces and negating its dimensional travelling properties.

Cosmos also saw that depending on how big the threat was, the more Bayleef's leaves would be used. Her top leaf was missing a massive chunk after the spikes and holes. Seeing that motivated her to ramp up the intensity. She had then sent a string towards the train, setting it on fire. This hot string was also sharp enough to pierce the train as Cosmos moved it along, burning the metal away.

Bayleef's leaves went off once more with a massive chunk coming from her top leaf. The string had become water, putting out the flames while also repairing the metal. Cosmos rubbed her hands together, enjoying herself by pushing Bayleef and seeing what she could come up with to eliminate all of her leaves.

Cosmos had grabbed a chunk of the sky with her bare hands before then throwing it at the train. The size of this sky chunk had enough width and power to crush the train, only for Bayleef to return the cloud to its original spot, taking off another chunk of its leaf. The top leaf was already reaching its limit due to how many pieces of it had been taken off.

"Bay...Bay..." Naturally, this was starting to tire her out.

"Bayleef's getting exhausted!" Fluttershy hugged the Leaf Pokemon, seeing her overwork herself. "If this keeps up, she'll run out of leaves!"

"We need to go faster then! Let's try adding electricity to this thing!" Scootaloo cried out.

"It's a steam train so coal is what it runs on. Which means we need Fire-Types." Cheerilee answered. "Luckily, you and Fluttershy have some, don't you?"

"Oh yeah!" Scootaloo then dug into her saddlebag, holding out two Poke Balls.

"Oh! Wait! Rapidash isn't big enough to be in here!" Cheerilee quickly ran over, stopping Scootaloo before she could damage the train.

"Try whatever you can!" Cosmos shouted with her voice travelling through the train. "I'm the superior cosmic force here!" She then clenched her hand, freezing the train in its tracks. There wasn't anything happening that prompted Bayleef to use her leaf. The train had only been stopped. And just when it was about to reach Canterlot in a few minutes. "Look at how easy this is now."

She then flicked her finger up, bringing the train towards her. Easily, she was currently the most powerful being here aside from Discord who was still hiding in fear of her. When raising the train, she started walking with it to Canterlot, deciding to have a chat with the ponies and Pokemon inside.

"Not much else that can get in my way. I'm undoubtedly the most powerful being ever, that much is true. Unless, all of you believe you stand a chance now, do you?"

"We sure do! Cinderace, use Pyro Ball! Goh exclaimed, commanding his Cinderace.

"Raboot, Ember! Bayleef, Magical Leaf!" Fluttershy chimed in as they all chose to attack Cosmos since she was this close to them.

"Houndoom, Overheat!" Hollow pointed directly at Cosmos' face.

"Roserade, Petal Blizzard!"

"Meowstic, Shadow Ball!"

"Swift!" Many other ponies and their Pokemon had used the same attack alongside the other unique ones had all attacked Cosmos. Star-shaped rays, balls of fire, streams of fire, spiralling petals that had the ferocity of blizzards, mystical glowing leaves, a blob of shadows and so on. Different attacks were sent toward her.

"Oh please." For once, Cosmos was unbothered by the Pokemon Attacks. She used her hand to telekinetically hold them, halting the attacks in place. They were all then dragged towards Cosmos as she started playing around with them by bouncing them up and down as if they were toys. "See? Even these attacks aren't that threatening to me anymore. They were powerful prior to this, I'll give you that."

Everyone was stunned that she managed to stop every single one of them. Cosmos then looked at the attacks before looking back at the train. "How about I give it all back to you? Twice the power. It'll be absolutely-"

But right then, just as Cosmos was planning to send the attacks back at the train to bring upon a devastating impact, she had been caught off guard, too focused on the ponies, Pokemon and two humans inside of the train.

"Hyper Beam!"

A Hyper Beam had caught her by surprise. A direct one to the astral face as the Spirit of Malice had been blindsided by an attack that was just as powerful as all of these attacks combined. Possibly even more. After being caught off guard, Cosmos' eyes closed before then losing her telekinetic hold onto these various Pokemon Attacks.

The attacks had hit her once she had lost control over them as Fluttershy and her friends ended up connecting their attacks after all. Just not in the usual way. And they had two individuals to thank for that.

Ash and Dragonite.

"Ash!" Fluttershy exclaimed with joy after seeing Ash alongside the arrival of Pikachu and Dragonite. Everyone was happy to see him. But their smiles quickly faded away once they realized that Cosmos' hold on the train had ended. "Oh!" It started falling, only for Bayleef's leaf to change fate once more.

The train had been sent back to the tracks, but with a safe landing instead of a crushing one. Everyone felt slightly perplexed but still hopeful. But there was a crushing impact after all in the form of Cosmos' falling over. She crashed into the nearby mountains thanks to Dragonite's sneak attack.

"GH! IT'S YOU!" Cosmos noticed Ash Ketchum for the third time now.

"So, she really did take Cynthia's body..." Ash recognized Cynthia's face. This was a sad sight to him, seeing his friends being taken over this way. Thankfully, this was just an astral body. He couldn't motivate himself to harm Cynthia's real body.

"I told you it was just an astral form. You don't have to worry about harming the real one, boy." It was Sombra who let him know that. It definitely paid to have a magic expert on his side at this moment. But he's already friends with a hefty amount of them anyway. "Punish her."

"Get lost!" Cosmos lashed out at Ash, unleashing a devastating blast of magic at her.

"After this, I'm gonna get Cynthia's mind back to normal! Dragonite! Close in on her and use Dragon Claw! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

"Dra!" Dragonite zoomed to the side, evading Cosmos' blast. After dodging it, the Dragon Pokemon summoned green draconic energy around her claws. As for Pikachu, he leapt off Ash's shoulder, preparing for a blast of 100,000 as a yellow aura sparked around his body.

Dragonite went first as her amazing speed had been showcased. So amazing that even Cosmos couldn't react to it on time as Dragon Claw had swiped her astral body, causing her to stagger.

"Pika...Chuu!" Which gave Pikachu a chance to strike. A bolt of lightning shot out of him before smiting Cosmos' The Astral Body of Cosmos had jittered. Being shocked by electricity will do that to anyone. Pikachu was then recovered by Dragonite who flew by him, causing the Mouse Pokemon to land on Ash's hat.

"Why you...!" Cosmos then extended Cynthia's fingernails before swinging them at Ash. She set them on fire as the flaming fingernails had burned parts of the atmosphere.

"Woah!" Ash gasped as Dragonite quickly flew underneath Cosmos' arm, evading her swipe. "Electroweb! Draco Meteor!"

"Pika-Pika-Chu-Pi!" Pikachu jumped off yet again, this time, throwing a web of electricity that started off as a ball before then transforming into the web, wrapping around Cosmos' arm. It shocked her while also wrapping around it.

"Dragonite!" As for Dragonite, she had manipulated the weather as the clouds started swirling. And from those clouds, which were glowing purple, multiple purple meteors had descended. Cosmos, who had just now ripped the web off of her arm, had yet to notice Draco Meteor.

She noticed how there was a purple glow that could be seen getting closer. And before she could look up, immediately, she had been bombarded by multiple meteors that rained down with immense fury. "AAH!" Cosmos screamed as these meteors pummelled her. Despite being smaller than her astral body, they were powerful enough to knock any large down. And Cosmos' astral body in the form of Cynthia was certainly big enough.

Everyone watched as the meteors had sent this titan down. Truly, a great sight considering what she had put them through. Bayleef certainly smiled as she took some time to recover with Audino healing here. Cosmos crashed into the nearby mountains with all of the rubble falling on her.

Cosmos was utterly bewildered. She was still trying to process the heavy meteors that fell on her. She looked up, looking Ash in the eyes.

"You...What does a human such as yourself think you can do to me in this state?" Cosmos was still highly confident in herself due to the immense power she had retained even after being hit that hard. The Champion of Alola then took the time to declare something to her while adjusting his hat. The light of the moon shined down on him, Pikachu and Dragonite as these words left his mouth.

"We're gonna beat you...get you out of Cynthia's body. Fix That tear in space and head home until the dawn comes. Count on it."

As the journey continues.
