Antimatter Path

Equestria. Canterlot. The Pokemon Festival.

The skies were clearing at last. After suffering from a Skyquake and a downpour of poison, the natural skies returned in response to the massive damage that Opal Vivacity received. The damage had already been done at this point. The poisonous rain had left an impact on most of Canterlot.

Descending from the skies were Opal and BIttersweet, but one of them looked like they had genuinely fallen to that final attack. Bittersweet looked like she was knocked out, hitting the ground first. Opal's pupils were still visible as she attempted to recover in the air with her wings. But it was too late. Not much of her mane remained after it a majority of it was blown away by Aura Sphere. Even her Flame Dress was starting to fade away, gradually exposing her to the light of the Sun.

"Ugh...!" The beautiful vampire groaned while making a crater that was shaped like her. Lucario, who had unleashed Aura Sphere on her, would descend, no longer feeling the rapid downpour of poison. Then again, it never affected him in the first place. He had some time to breathe in and out as everything fell silent for a while.

"Did we do it?" Iris said, hoping that Opal and Bittersweet were done for this time. The skies would be at peace once more as Celestia would help Passion back down to the ground after the damage she received.

"That attack should've done the trick," Ash replied. "Faking her out with all those Double Team clones worked out for us too. But..."

Twilight and everyone else could finally cease their movements now that the poisonous rain was gone. However, that didn't change the fact that Kyurem had been poisoned. That went for some of the Canterlot Guards and the Golurk as the affliction didn't vanish once Opal was struck.

Kyurem would groan as the toxins that entered his system couldn't be ignored, even if he was the World's Strongest Dragon. He would lean forward a bit before readjusting his balance.

"Not good!" Twilight gasped upon seeing Kyurem's condition. "We still haven't found Fluttershy either! Where could she be?!"

"I can't see her anywhere." Applejack, who was still injured, groaned in response. "But at least those vampires are gonna call it quits now. It'd be even better if they got caught."

"Hoopa. Do you have anything to heal Kyurem? Maybe a Refresh? Arceus knows I need some refreshing as well" Rarity asked, hoping that Hoopa had something in store.

"Hmm...Ah! Hoopa knows what to do!" But Hoopa had a better approach to healing them. Instead of finding Fluttershy, which they were already struggling to do, by using his ring, Hoopa would grab what he could. "Hoopa knows a store in Dahara City that has something!"

And in this case, Hoopa snagged himself items. More specifically, Potions and Antidotes. Swarms of them would drop out of the ring, falling onto Twilight and her injured friends.

"T-Those work too..." Twilight stuttered while poking her head out of the sea of Antidotes that were stolen without anything in return. Twilight could imagine the faces of the employees and the customers right now. "But you're going to have to pay them back Hoopa."

"Hoopa understands."

"Have they made potions for ponies yet...?" Rarity groaned as the sea of Potions and Antidotes only increased the severity of her injuries.

"Melo." As for Meloetta, among the few who were still in one piece and relatively healthy, she would heal them. The Melody Pokemon hovered over the sea of bottles before grabbing a handful. Kyurem, Sceptile and Pheromosa were all in need of some Potions while Kyurem would need an Antidote. As for Applejack and Rarity, the potions wouldn't quite have the same effect on them.

Joining Meloetta in this was Spike, who was also among the few that remained unscathed during all of this. For the most part, thanks to the Poison Rain, he was unable to reach Opal in the first place. Chrysalis, Applejack, Rarity and all the changelings already took some damage earlier and the poison would only make it worse if they continued. As it stood, everyone would need an antidote, but not everyone could be affected by the potions.

"Drink this, Kyurem." Twilight would lend a bottle to Kyurem. Kyurem gazed at her for a bit before then awkwardly staring at the Antidote Bottle. The Boundary Pokemon growled for a bit, realizing how awkward this could be. "Come on. If you want to feel better, you have to take the Antidote. If you want, I can just spray it instead.

Twilight would g through with it, spraying the Boundary Pokemon. Kyurem wasn't one to be treated like this at all. It was the way he looked while being sprayed that rubbed him the wrong way. But he managed to deal with it. However, one Antidote wouldn't automatically get rid of the poison. The number of toxins within Kyurem was staggering as it required multiple bottles. Luckily, there were enough Antidote potions to go around.

As for Chrysalis and the others that weren't Pokemon, they would require a different method of healing. The potions just wouldn't cut it. Twilight would then look over at the massive smoke cloud, hoping that Ash, Iris and Celestia managed to cut this battle short.

Minutes ago, Celestia moved in with Passion, ready to apprehend Opal Vivacity and Bittersweet. However, upon reaching the spot that they crashed into, only one of them was still there. Opal Vivacity.

"What?!" Celestia gasped, realizing that Bittersweet was not present here at all. It was only Opal who was on the ground despite having consciousness. "Where is she?!"

"Heh...Good question..." Opal grinned before twitching on the ground. "You've bested me...I'll admit that. But that doesn't mean this is over. Not yet."

"What do you mean by that?" Ash questioned, having his guard up for whatever might pop up next.

"Pikachu?"

"Try and apprehend me, Celestia...You remember what happened with Night Sprout, don't you? It'll all be pointless since we'll make a rather explosive exit."

"!" Celestia pulled back after hearing that. Indeed. The vampires had a way to avoid being captured. Self Destruction. At any moment, the vampires could pull it off when necessary with nothing being left. Their bodies would only return to Magehold as an outcome, guaranteeing them safety.

"Gotcha~" Opal Vivacity winked. "As it stands, you can't contain me. And you never will. Not when the tenacity of the Dread League lives on. If anything...the only way to stop me is to end me. Perhaps that will do the trick."

Celestia stayed silent after hearing Opal's suggestion. It was a rather grim one, something that Celestia would never consider off the bat. But from what Opal said, it sounded like finishing her off for good was the better option. However, at this point, Celestia would vehemently disagree. "I disagree. We'll find a way."

"Goody-two-shoes Princess." Opal scoffed. "This is why you're all doomed in the end. I'll be seeing you very soon. But before that...I think I'll leave you with something better than an explosion."

"Better than an explosion?" Iris repeated while Celestia readied up a magical coating around herself and Passion, just in case it was something up close.

"Now, Bittersweet!" But it wasn't something that Celestia needed to worry about being too close. Instead, it was something that everyone should worry about. Bittersweet's location had been spotted as she ended up reaching the Golden Stairway.

A piece of Opal Vivacity's mane was also revealed to her on her hoof with a tiny bit of Rift Magic flowing out of it before vanishing. Celestia figured that Opal must have used her Fate-changing abilities to send Bittersweet elsewhere. Either way, she was right next to the Golden Stairway, conscious once more.

"Have a taste of this..." She was barely conscious, still feeling the urge to faint. But even so, she was able to pull off her Curse Magic. With one touch, she went for a sour effect on the Golden Stairway before then dropping her face to the ground.

That one touch made a stark difference as the Golden Stairway would pulsate as if it had a heartbeat. After that, a shattering shockwave moved through the ground, raising up the rubble immediately.

Ash and everyone nearby would feel threatened by this pulse, almost falling over to it. The stairway would roar before then darkening, losing its beautiful golden shine. The skies would once again darken, but the Sun still remained. The beautiful light of the stairway was no more. Instead, it started a red and black appearance. All the rubble had been wiped away from existence once these particles flew out. A crack in the wind came from this energy shift that would grab the attention of everyone.

Everyone within Canterlot or even near the vicinity of the city would be caught up in this overwhelming pressure. The stairway would continue to let out these particles that were meant to be the complete opposite of everything the stairway was made out of. And by witnessing the particles, Ash knew exactly what this was.

"This looks a lot like Giratina's Antimatter!" Ash growled, holding onto his hat as his already damaged jacket would flow vigorously in the wind, which had also heated up from the effects of this stairway.

"Antimatter?!" Iris exclaimed, stunned to hear such an element being brought up now. But there was no mistake about it. Even Celestia saw it. Flurry Heart's Giratina was proof of what Antimatter looked like. With just an alteration to the Golden Stairway, Bittersweet managed to bring about one of the most destructive energies possible.

The opposite of Arceus' Light. The Shadow of Arceus' unique and horrifying power. Giratina's Antimatter. Such a destructive force was rarely ever seen and of all times it could appear, this was the worst possible time.

"How's that?" Opal Vivacity cackled while looking up at Celestia. "What will you do about this?! The power of Antimatter is something that not many can stand up to! How will you respond?!"

The laughter of Opal rang through Celestia's ears as this was a predicament that was strikingly difficult to deal with. The particles in the atmosphere were being broken down and reassembled into hotter substances. The atmosphere started burning up before creating streams of flames that appeared out of thin air.

It wasn't just the atmosphere. The Antimatter would affect all kinds of matter. The gas from the smoke would suddenly be reversed, becoming its antimatter equivalent. The solid ground and some of the remaining rubble would liquefy and while there were no liquids nearby, without a doubt, this energy would affect it immediately.

"What's happening?!" Hoopa gasped as everyone was able to witness this.

"It's Antimatter!" Twilight replied. "It's breaking down all forms of matter and reassembling them as we speak?!"

"How did something like this appear?!" An injured Chrysalis was flabbergasted by what she was witnessing. It was clear that the Golden Stairway, which was now an Antimatter Stairway, was the cause of these effects.

And of course, Antimatter would affect living things as well. The changeling, who were all already in bad shape, would feel a sickness come through from the pulsating Antimatter. The radiation that it let off reached them, outlining their bodies in a red and black aura. They had just been cured by the poison, only to be affected by the Antimatter.

But the Antimatter wouldn't stop that Canterlot. As the particles ran through the ground, the very foundation and reasoning for this stairway's existence were vanishing. Thus, that meant the path to Jirachi was slipping away. From this excess of Antimatter, a void would appear in the sky, matching that of a Black Hole.

It even had a similar pull to a Black Hole from how it started pulling in whatever it could. Of course, Bittersweet didn't go that far. The ground would be ripped away, leaving only bedrock. But even the bedrock would be threatened as the Canterlot Mines would be revealed as well.

Red and Black Antimatter Energy crackled through the sky as if it was lightning, erasing entire clouds with just their volts. At this rate, Opal's goal to soften Equestria up would come true.

"No matter what...I always finish what I intend to accomplish..." Opal Vivacity said with a devious laugh. "Nothing can stop my perseverance! This Antimatter will threaten both worlds!"

Indeed, at this very moment, the Antimatter Energy was reaching such vicious levels of mass that they ended up passing through to the other world. Vermillion City was the first to experience this as the Antimatter broke straight through reality just to reach the Pokemon World.

Everyone at Vermillion would gasp after the Antimatter bolt would pass through. They would witness how an entire set of clouds was ripped away, vanishing from existence as if they were never there. The Antimatter mainly threatened non-living forces the most but that didn't mean it was exempt from harming everyone else. Other regions would be met by the crash of Antimatter which threatened all manner of matter.

Princess Luna, who was currently moving across the two worlds to try and shut up the constant crying of the 100 Demons, would bear witness to the Antimatter.

"Not good..." She uttered quietly. Upon seeing this, Luna already knew what this meant. She would quickly hop off Vinyl's massive speaker set before aiming to return to Equestria. "Vinyl Scratch! I must go! But keep that music playing just in case!"

Back at Equestria, it was only getting worse. Every energy that resided within it was going haywire. Aura, the different forms of Magic and even the cosmic power of the Rift were being broken down and altered. And since the rest of the stairway reached space, the Antimatter would threaten the cosmos as well. As if they needed this since they already dealt with a demon that was troublesome up in space.

"Ash! Gather up!" Celestia yelled, taking action at once against such a threatening force. "That goes for everyone if you can reach them! We can stop this!"

"How?!" Ash swivelled to face Celestia.

"Pika?!"

"Antimatter breaks down all forms of matter and energy and can even bring about the opposite of what they are. We can try and reverse what already reverses. We'll continue making the stairway to erase the Antimatter and bring back Arceus' light and everything we put in there recently!" Celestia declared, having a plan to stop this. "Hurry!"

"Gotcha!" Ash understood.

"Fools!" Opal, who was laying on the ground and looking up at the sky would scoff at this idea. "How can you expect to do that without all of the necessary members?!"

"We were able to construct it without Shooting Star before. We can do it again." Celestia said before soaring into the air to try and get everyone's attention. "To all those who can build the stairway, gather up so we can stop this! This might be our only chance to finish the stairway and reach Jirachi!"

"We're going to be remaking with all of that around?!" Cold Colt, who was with everyone else away from Canterlot to avoid all the anarchy would gasp in shock. Zecora and Jade Skies would also have to return and face the destructive energy that threatened them all.

As for Shooting Star, Hoopa would open the ring to Pegalysium once more. Celestia was the only one to previously pass through the Pegalysium ring after helping the nation in the sky out. But now, the final member of the Golden Stairway's construction could appear.

Once the ring was summoned, Shooting Star's face could be seen. He would poke through the ring, entering the other side before being startled by the crackle of Antimatter in the sky and ground. The young prince would fall out from this jump scare, crashing head-first into the ground.

"W-What was that?!" Shooting Star bellowed as he was jump-scared one more time. This time, it was from Princess Luna's appearance once she teleported in. His heart raced rapidly before being helped up by the tiny wisp that was now constantly tagging alongside him.

"Should I even ask why?" Luna sighed, not needing a full explanation as to this sudden emergence of Antimatter. The alteration of the stairway was proof of that enough.

There was one more vampire who would bear witness to the Antimatter. That would be Melody Moon and her confrontation against Fluttershy. "What have they done...?" Melody Moon shuddered before then groaning in pain from the heat of the dress and the Sun rays. Both of them threatened her in similar ways but now there was a third element in play to worry about. "Bittersweet...You just had to go and touch it, didn't you?"

"Bay...!" Bayleef trembled at this energy as her leaf was going haywire just from the threatening aura it gave off. Audino would stand close to Fluttershy in case the worst could having, already preparing a Protect and waiting for the right moment to unleash it.

"I can't take this anymore...Return, Sigiylph!" Choosing to leave the scene was Melody Moon as she would recall Sigilyph.

"You're leaving?" Fluttershy said.

"I'm not retreating...just so you know!" In reality, she just needed to get away from the heat. And the Antimatter of course. The vampire couldn't take any more of it, despite receiving less damage compared to her vampiric allies. Melody spread her wings out, attempting to find a shade to stay around. Or at least, head home. She was unable to capture Fluttershy due to these inconveniences.

As for everyone else, those that were crucial for the creation of the stairway were brought over to the heart of the chaotic force. Being this close to the Antimatter was just asking for trouble, but by this point, they were all used to it. Some, more than others.

"Alright. Is everyone here?" Celestia looked over at the list of Humans, Ponies, Zebras and Pokemon that were needed. Her eyes would across witnessing an assortment of unique colours.

Ash, Twilight, Luna, Cadence, Chrysalis, Applejack, Zecora, Cold Colt, Jade Skies, Phione and Shooting Star were all present. All of them were truly here once more. And of course, some of them had their Pokemon out to give it a boost. Lucario was still out and present, having energy to spare. And for a boost in Fairy Magic, Cadence's Sylveon would join in.

They all formed a circle around Phione once more with Victini joining in. Victini, as always, would be the one to boost Phione's energy to new levels. By now, it was needed more than ever.

"Ugh..." However, some of them were still badly injured in all of this, having to fully heal up or even find a way to heal at the moment. Chrysalis was a notable example of all of this.

"One more time. This Antimatter could destroy everything, leaving us with nothing to rebuild. So let's make this final moment count. Please." Celestia pleaded. "Chrysalis. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. I want to complete this stairway just as much as everyone wants to. So let's make it happen."

"Useless!" A downed Opal would yell at them, still having a lot to say even after being slumped over. "The damage is already being done! I think I'll stick around longer to see you all fail-"

"Shut up." Darkrai, refusing to hear Opal Vivacity babble on, would drop a Dark Void on her immediately. Opal's words were cut off in a heartbeat as she was put to sleep.

"All together again." Celestia closed her arms before joining hooves with Passion and Luna. Everyone else would connect their respective limbs with Sylveon being picked up by Cadence. It felt like they had little time to lose, especially with how fast the Antimatter was escalating.

"Flurry. Dear. I hope your Giratina has a solution to this...This is his expertise after all." Princess Cadence thought to herself, knowing that Giratina could generate this energy. She was hoping that right now, somewhere out there, Giratina was dealing with the Antimatter himself. Hopefully.

"Victini!" Victini would then share his boundless power with Phione, beginning the process of constructing the Golden Stairway. His energy would then latch onto everyone else for a boost.

Ash and everyone would take in Victini's energy once more as it would push their limits for a second time even after what happened earlier.

"This time it has to be finished..." Twilight closed her eyes, speaking out. "I don't know how this will unlock the dimension where all the Jirach are, but it has to."

"If not, then we will be on our own when the day of the Rift's departure comes along," Luna added. "Failure is not an option for all of us."

"I'm still hurting over here...but I can't let that get to me...!" A strained Applejack spoke before having her eyes light up with a radiant blue Aura.

"We're gonna finish it! That's a fact!" Ash's voice would echo out as his Aura would then shine even brighter. The energy coming from everyone would then clash with the Antimatter just as Celestia suspected.

And it was a vigorous clash too. The Antimatter would meet with the standard Matter as it looked like two lightning bolts being hit against each other. For a moment, the Antimatter was stopped, however, it would only continue its path of destruction, targeting the Matter.

It now became a clash of power. The power of Ash and everyone and the power of the Antimatter. One sought to destroy everything they built while another would rebuild what was being destroyed, The stairway could be seen going through a back-and-forth process. Construction and Deconstruction. When one part was built, another would break apart. This was a repeated cycle, showing the fierce struggle between the two forces.

Only one stellar energy would emerge victorious. And the fate of both worlds, along with the Jirachi, would be decided here and now as the journey continues.
