Author's Note:

Fun fact: The male trainers from the games actually do exist in the anime, but the only time you'll ever see them is a cameo from a Pokemon movie or in the background. Gold/Ethan is the only one who's actually been seen the most.

Ponyville.

It's been exactly one day since Cold Colt was rescued and saved from Team Plasma. And also one day since the defeat of one of Ghetsis's many kingdoms, thus giving the Saddle-Arabians their freedom.

Twilight was at her lab, readjusting everything and fixing the ceiling that had a hole in it via Machamp busting in. The hatch to the PokePark was now left open, giving Twilight a view of the Cove Area and access to it without having to frantically move her hoof around to find the opening to the hatch. And today, she was starting her role as a Pokemon Professor, and this time with no interruptions. Some ponies would be coming in today to grab their starter Pokemon. Spike was there as her assistant as always.

"Everything's all ready. Right, Spike?"

"Yep. Nothing out of the ordinary here." Spike nodded.

"Good. Now let's go over the starters again. Line up, everyone!" Twilight called for the 5 starters. "Okay so. You're all going to get your first trainer for today, which means you'll be setting out to help them through the Equestria Pokemon League or Equestria League as it's now known. So I hope you're able to find yourself the perfect partner for you, just like I found mine in the form Eve here." She looked over at her Espeon.

"Espeon..."

"Now. Get ready to-" Twilight froze for a bit as she noticed that something was off. There were actually only 4 starters present here. One was missing. "Wait a minute...1, 2, 3, 4- One of you isn't here..." She went over the ones that were present which were Piplup, Budew, Vulpix and Horsea. Treecko wasn't here. "Where's Treecko? Have any of you see him?"

The Pokemon shook their heads, having no clue where their fellow starter Pokemon was. Spike looked around and even he hasn't seen it anywhere.

"No sign of it anywhere in the lab. Maybe it's in the PokePark?" He said. But the Audino at PokePark, who could hear their conversation shook her head in denial, basically telling them that Treecko hasn't been here. "Guess not."

"Where could he be? He needs to be here for his soon-to-be trainer!" Twilight was starting to worry. Where is Treecko exactly?

His actual whereabouts? Sweet Apple Acres. Ever since the whole PokePark event, Treecko had grown fond of Applejack at that instance. So fond that it actually decided to stick around with her. It admired her honesty and fortitude, since it personally wanted to evolve into a powerful Sceptile one day, and it felt like Applejack was the pony to do help him with that.

Applejack on the other hoof was a bit confused. She didn't mind Treecko hanging out here since the Applin's do the same, but Treecko went above and beyond by constantly being on her back at all times, and sometimes in her hat. Applejack had no idea that Treecko saw her as its perfect trainer.

"Alright. You ready to head on to the lab, Apple Bloom?" Applejack walked to her sister.

"I'm ready! I can't wait to choose! That Cyndaquill looked cute! Oh but so did that Horsea! But that Piplup's voice...I can't choose! They're all so cute!" She was excited to choose her starter. In fact, she wasn't actually going to be joining the Pokemon League. Scootaloo's going for that path. Instead, she's decided to go on the path of a Pokemon Monotype Trainer. A trainer that only has Pokemon of a single type or share that type with dual typing. She couldn't' decide on whether she wanted an all Fire, Water or Grass team. The reason why this caught her interest was due to her seeing a trainer with only Fairy-Type Pokemon at the Pokemon Festival, and that was enough to sell her. She had an Emolga but that was before she really wanted to go Monotype.

"Let's get going then. Gotta return his little fella back to the lab too." AJ looked back at Treecko. The two sisters went along their way, heading to Twilight's Pokemon Lab. They weren't the only ones. Rarity was bringing along Sweetie Belle while Ash brought along Scootaloo. Even though they all had their own Pokemon already, having a starter Pokemon was acceptable and allowed, according to the official Pokemon rulebook.

They all arrived at the Pokemon Lab were Twilight was pacing back and forth, worrying about Treecko's whereabouts. But once they passed through, she noticed that Treecko was right there, on Applejack's back.

"Huh? Treecko!" She exclaimed. "There you are!"

"Sorry, Twilight. He's kinda been stuck on me for a while now." Applejack said.

"That's fine. It's perfect that you came here with Treecko at the right time. I'm just about to give out the starters."

"Alright, Treecko. Off ya go." Applejack looked at the Wood Gecko Pokemon. But, Treecko refused to get off Applejack, not wanting to leave. Not at all. It kept itself stationary on her back. AJ looked back at Twilight, shrugging at her.

"We can work with this." Twilight sighed. "Alright Cutie Mark Crusaders. It's time for you to choose your starter. I hope you've made your choices already."

"I've made mine! I want all Grass-Types. So I'm going for that one!" Apple Bloom looked over at Budew. "Budew's for me."

"Oh. So you want to be a monotype trainer, huh? Interesting choice. Alright. Off you go Budew." Twilight looked over at the Bud Pokemon. Budew hopped over to Apple Bloom, choosing its new trainer.

"Budew!"

"And you Scootaloo? I already know you're joining the Equestria League, and you already have the Cyndaquill from here. So you want a team that's all about battling, right?"

"You betcha! But it's kinda tough. I don't even know what most of those guys evolve into." Scootaloo examined the other 4 Pokemon. "What do you think, Ash?"

"Hm. These are some pretty good Pokemon options." Ash kneeled down to look at the Pokemon. "Even I would have a tough time choosing, ya know." Ash petted the Piplup on the head. "Which one do you think will help you in the league, Scootaloo? It's probably all of them, ya know."

"Hrrmgh...I think f I had to choose...I'll go for...that one!" Scootaloo made her decision. Her choice? Horsea. "I hear Water-Type Pokemon have fewer weaknesses."

"Horsea it is," said Twilight. The Dragon Pokemon hopped over to its new trainer, Scootaloo. "Now all that leaves is you, Sweetie Belle. Who's your choice?"

"Well...I hear that Ash's friend Dawn is really good at Pokemon Contests. And she has a Piplup. So if I'm gonna be a great Coordinator...I'll choose Piplup! Plus penguins are cute."

"Excellent choice Sweetie Belle. Glad you didn't pick a destructive Fire-Type." Rarity chuckled as Vulpix blew fire at her face, making her cough out smoke.

"Great. That's all of them. Sorry that nopony got to choose you as well." Twilight said to the remaining starter. But then...Twilight had an idea that sparked in her mind. She looked over at Applejack and Treecko for a bit. She then remembered how Applejack couldn't decide on what her first Pokemon would be. And she was looking at a perfect match right here. "Hey...wait a minute. Applejack!"

"Yeah?" The farm pony replied.

"Why don't you have your own starter Pokemon?"

"Me? Have a starter? I guess ya'll are still trying to find a perfect Pokemon for me, huh?" She chuckled. "I don't know if I can choose any of em at all, really.." Applejack looked at the remaining Pokemon.

"Maybe. Or maybe... your perfect Pokemon is right behind you." Twilight nudged her head forward. Applejack turned around, looking at Treecko who was still there. The farm pony then took a second to process this. Twilight was basically saying that Treecko was her starter Pokemon.

"You...You think Treecko's for me?"

"Absolutely!" The young alicorn nodded. "I didn't think too much about it at first. But seeing how much Treecko likes you and the fact that it came to you for help when we were trapped in PokePark...I'd say you've found yourself a reliable partner right beside you. At least...that's my conclusion."

"Oh. I mean...that's true. It did have to go through that tough weather to even get to me. And if it wasn't for Treecko, I would've never known that ya'll were trapped in there and I couldn't get Ash to come help at all. Maybe you're right. Maybe this is the one for me. I think?"

"Tree."

"What do you say Applejack? Do you choose Treecko as your partner?" Twilight walked up to her. The others had eager faces, wanting to hear the response.

After taking some time to think it over...Applejack finally came to a conclusion. Her answer was absolute.

"Yes. I choose Treecko."

"Yes! Finally! You've chosen your Pokemon!" Twilight flew up with joy, glad that this day had finally come. Now all of her friends have Pokemon of their own. Took a while though. "Plus you two go really well with each other!"

"I guess we do."

"Treecko!"

"Now. All I have to do is give you three these." Twilight used her magic to grab some Pokeball cases and some Pokedexes. "Every trainer who starts out on their Pokemon Profession must always have these on them. Pokeballs for capture and Pokedexes for recordings."

"But I already have my own Pokedex." said Scootaloo.

"Oh. Well then...here you two go. And one Pokeball for you too, Applejack." Twilight gave them each their own Pokedexes and Pokeballs, making them have the appearance of a true upstart trainer. But there was one final touch that was needed.

"Oh. I almost forgot. To give you the perfect appearance of a trainer..." Rarity had brought along her saddle-bag, and inside of it were trainer outfits for the Crusaders. They were given trainer hats that matched their mane colours, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were given saddle-bags that were custom made by Rarity and Leavanny. They were perfect for fitting as many Pokeballs and other Pokemon essentials inside.

"Now we're matching trainers, huh girls?" Scootaloo pulled her friends towards her.

"Alright! That went much better than I expected. This first day as a Pokemon Professor was pretty easy actually." Twilight said. "Now. What's next?" Twilight grabbed the Pokemon rulebook and guidebook, searching for the next step of a trainer's adventure.

The group decided to have some small talk in meantime, but unbeknownst to them and all of Ponyville, they were about to be greeted by another world. A world parallel to the Pokemon World. The Rift had shown up in the skies once more, similar to how it appeared for the first time in both worlds. And without any hesitation, the cosmic entity unleashed that same flash of light that spread across the world with ludicrous speed for anypony to even keep up with. But Ash could sense this pulse of cosmic energy that flowed through the world, and to some extent, so did Twilight. That's when they realised that the Rift had done something.

"Pikachu?" Pikachu hopped off Ash's shoulder, running out of the lab. The others followed the Electric Mouse Pokemon's path as everypony was outside, staring into the distance. Why they were staring at the distance? Well, that was because another gateway had opened up. The gateway was located right near the Everfree Forest this time.

"Another gateway?" Ash said.

"Is it Ghetsis?!" Twilight readied herself, worried that it might be Ghetsis.

"What's going on? Why's there another gateway here?" Rainbow Dash flew in.

Everypony and Pokemon's attention was turned to the sudden appearance of the gateway. That's when someone could finally be seen. The first thing the saw was a silhouette of a human. One that looked familiar to Ash. The silhouette resembled his old rival and friend Gary.

"Gary?" Ash spoke, leaning forward. Once that familiar face walked through, it was revealed to be a trainer who was similar to Gary, the only difference being that his hair was a bit lighter than Gary's and he seemed to be older. But this wasn't Gary Oak.

This was the trainer Blue. He had passed through the gateway out of curiosity.

"Whew. Get a good look at this place." Blue spoke.

"Even sounds a bit like him! Hey, Gary!" Ash shouted.

"Hm? You talking to me kid?" Blue responded.

"Yeah! I didn't know there was an alternate Gary out there!" Ash said.

"Pika!"

"What? Oh no...my name's Blue. I don't have a clue on who this Gary guy is." Blue shrugged.

"He looks exactly like you! I guess Gary's name's different in that world over there."

"You talking about alternate worlds? Really now?" Blue chuckled a bit. "Actually...Come to think of it...you look familiar too." Blue examined Ash. "You look a lot like Red actually. Maybe you ain't joking." Speaking of Red, the next person to pass through the gateway had shown up. All attentions were taken back to the gateway once more. That's when everypony saw the silhouette of the person who looked like Ash.

His hair was identical, so was his style of clothing. Hat and jacket, except instead of all blue, it's all red. Twilight and everypony even started to believe that this was a parallel Ash.

"Ash?" Twilight leaned forward.

The trainer had finally passed through, revealing himself to be Red.

"Sweet Celestia! He really does look like Ash!" Rarity exclaimed.

"This guy over here is my best pal and rival, Red."

"Red, huh? That's a pretty fun name." Pinkie Pie giggled.

"So this means that there are other Pokemon worlds? Amazing." Twilight said. "I wonder what their reality is like?"

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. This is our humble town, Ponyville." Mayor Mare walked towards the two.

"Ponyville? There's a whole town with pony Pokemon? Talk about freaky." Blue laughed. "I'm surprised you all can talk too."

"Oh, we're not Pokemon. We're just ponies." Fluttershy explained.

"Really? Aw, that's kinda boring actually..."

"Boring? Pssh! You ain't seen nothing yet! We're not just your average run of the mill ponies." Rainbow said to him.

"Well, why don't we introduce each other first!" Pinkie bounced over to Red and Blue. "My name's Pinkie Pie! And these are all my friends from Ponyville! Blue was it?"

"That's right. What kind of name is Pinkie Pie anyways?"

"And you're Red! Nice to meet you, Mr Red!"

"...." No answer. He gave no answer. In fact, he hasn't said a word at all. All he's been doing is standing there with that same serious face all this time. It was actually kind of intimidating everypony, even Aria, who's pretty deadpan herself was a bit uncomfortable. Somepony coughed as another whistled. Twilight winced at the fact that Red gave no response whatsoever. There was an awkward silence that filled the town as a tiny little Furret was just walking by.

"Uhh...this is the part where you say hello back? Or at least nice to meet you?" Pinkie spoke to him again, but there was no answer once more.

"This is um...awkward." Twilight moved her hoof on the ground, looking to the side.

"You'll have to forgive Red. He's not much of a talker...at all." Blue put his hand on Red's shoulder.

"Oh. Did something happen to him in his childhood maybe?" Fluttershy uttered.

"Nope. He just doesn't talk. It is what it is." Blue shrugged.

"That's kinda lame...but we can work around it!" said Pinkie Pie.

"Maybe. But we're just here out of curiosity. We plan to head back soon." Blue pointed his thumb at the gateway behind them. "But this gateway thing's pretty neat actually."

"But why did the Rift decide to include another Pokemon world?" Twilight wondered. "Is it just to find more excitement?"

"Who cares? I'm all for it. Red, right?" Ash walked up to Red. The silent trainer looked over to Ash, also noticing that he and Ash actually do resemble each other a bit. "Let's have a battle!"

"Pikachu!"

"Really Ash? You're gonna pick a fight with the first guy you see?" Twilight asked.

"Of course! If he's my alternate self...at least that's what I think...then I have to battle him! What do you say, Red? We can make it a short one if that's cool with you."

"..." The silent trainer nodded in response, accepting the challenge. Just like Ash, Red was pretty fond of battling.

"Awesome! I wanna see how strong you really are!"

"Pika-Pika!"

"Wonder how the two compare to each other?" Bon Bon said to Lyra.

"If they're parallels of each other then they should be on the same level, right?" Lyra responded.

"Only one way to find out. I'll clear everything out so that the town doesn't get demolished by Pokemon. Again..." Mayor Mare sighed, walking off to clear some space.

The two trainers stood on opposite sides with everypony spectating from a distance. It was about to be a trainer battle between two seasoned trainers with years of experience behind them. Both their eyes met as they could each see the fire in their eyes. Both were eager to go against each other. Red was actually intrigued by Ash. He believed that this parallel version of himself was actually mildly amusing. And he as well wanted to see how strong Ash is if he really is his alternate self.

"So. How strong is your Red? Or should I say, Ash?" Blue asked the ponies.

"How strong is he? Ash is super-strong! Way more than you can even imagine!" Scootaloo exclaimed.

"Oh really? Same could be said for Red. He's a real force to be reckoned with. I should know. Not many can stand up to him. And I doubt he's an exception."

"Oh, yeah? Well, Ash is a hero so...nyeh!" Scootaloo stuck her tongue out."

"Are you two ready?" Mayor Mare said to the two.

"Always ready!"

"Pikachu!"

"...." Red had his hand in his pocket, nodding in response.

"Very well then. Both of you can only use 4 Pokemon for this short battle since I don't want my town being demolished by even more Pokemon attacks. You may begin. Just don't go overboard."

Red made the first call. He sent out a Pokemon first. His first choice was his own Pikachu.

"Pika-Pika-Pika!" Red's Pikachu said.

"He even has his own Pikachu? They might as well be parallels!" Applejack exclaimed.

"Your own Pikachu huh? Then I'll go with my buddy Pikachu as well. Pikachu! I choose you!"

"Pikachu!" Ash's Pikachu hopped off his partner's shoulder, ready to face off against his fellow Electric Mouse.

"This is gonna be confusing...what happens if there's a ton of smoke? How will we know which Pikachu belongs to one of them?" Twilight asked.

"We'll know." Fluttershy responded.

"Let's do this! Quick Attack!" The battle began. Ash made the first move with Pikachu moving at blinding speeds.

"Quick Attack." Red finally spoke since he needed to at least give commands.

"Oh, now he speaks?!" Pinkie bellowed.

Both Pikachu crashed their heads into each other with their own Quick Attacks, knocking each other back and dealing some damage to one another.

"Use Thunderbolt!" Ash's Pikachu charged up a bolt of lightning with 100,000 volts packed behind it.

"Thunderbolt." Red's Pikachu did the exact same. Both Thunderbolt's met against each other, clashing. They proved to be even in strength, cancelling each other out as the only result was a cloud of smoke that emerged.

"Pretty even, huh Red? Guess both of our Pikachu's are alike as well huh?" Ash smirked.

"..." Red smiled, basically agreeing with him without words. "Iron Tail." Red's Pikachu gained a hard steel tail. So far, his Pikachu shared the exact same moveset as Ash's.

"Use Iron Tail as well!" Ash's Pikachu used his own Iron Tail. Both ran at each other, clashing their tails together. Soon it was a back forth collision of Iron Tails. Red's Pikachu attempted to sweep Ash's Pikachu, but his opposing Pikachu hopped over, slamming Red's on the head with his Iron Tail.

"Direct hit!" Ash said.

Red's Pikachu was sent back by Iron Tail however, it recovered fairly quickly.

"I take it back. This kid's actually pretty good. Matching Red like that is no small feat." Blue nodded.

"You ain't seen nothing yet. Go get em, Ash!" Pinkie cheered.

"Let's follow up with style! Electroweb!" Ash's Pikachu jumped up with its tail emitting electricity. His Electric Mouse Pokemon tossed a web of electricity downwards at his fellow Pikachu.

"Light Screen." Red gave off a defensive command. His Pikachu surrounded himself in a protective light barrier. This helped to nullify Electroweb, basically making his Pikachu immune to it. "Now head in with Quick Attack." Red pointed forward. His Pikachu broke through the web, destroying it as he tackled Ash's Pikachu with blinding speeds.

"Pika!" Ash's' Pikachu cried out.

"Follow up with Thunderbolt." Red was about to continue the assault. A bolt of lightning raced towards his opponent.

"Use Iron Tail to absorb it!" Ash's Pikachu quickly recovered in the air. He turned his tail iron which was actually a good call. A trick Ash picked up from Rainbow Dash's Fourth Gym Battle. Iron Tail had absorbed the Thunderbolt, making it a perfect conductor. "Now! Use Iron Tail and Thunderbolt at the same time!" Ash gave off a new command that resulted in something that Red had never seen before.

"Iron tail as well." Red made sure to retaliate. His Pikachu ran towards the other Electric Mouse Pokemon as both of them were heading towards each other. Both Iron Tail's collided but the only difference this time was that Ash's Pikachu emitted Thunderbolt by using the electricity it absorbed from Red's Pikachu. Sparks of Thunderbolts were thrown everywhere, some almost hitting the ponies and some hitting their homes. Both Pikachu's had pushed each other back once more from the hard clash of the tails.

"This Red guy's something else. He's got my blood boiling." Ash was enjoying this a lot. The fact that Red could match him proved that they were parallels. "Alright, Pikachu! Time to show Red what we can do!"

"Pikachu!"

"Let's finish this...Quick Attack." Red's Pikachu rushed in, quickly moving at ludicrous speeds. He smashed into Ash's Pikachu with a speedy Quick Attack. But that's when Ash's Pikachu gave off a smirk.

"Iron Tail!" Ash took advantage of this by having his Pikachu slam his tail down on Red's Pikachu's head. The opposing Pikachu had been sent to the ground, feeling the harsh impact. And that one final Iron Tail was actually just strong enough to cause Red's Pikachu to faint.

"Pi...Pika..." Red's Pikachu groaned.

"Yes!" Ash jumped for victory, overcoming Red's Pikachu. "Awesome job, buddy!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu jumped for joy as well.

"Hah! See? What did I tell you?" Rainbow Dash taunted.

"Yeah, whatever. It ain't over yet though." Blue replied.

"..." Red returned his Pikachu, knowing that he was beaten. But he still had some Pokemon to spare. His next choice? He sent out a Snorlax.

"Snor!"

"He even has a Snorlax as well? Then I probably guess what other Pokemon he might have in his team." Twilight said.

"Snorlax huh? Okay, Pikachu. Come back for now." Ash called his best friend back. "We'll get past Snorlax with you... Go! Riolu!" For Ash's choice, it was Riolu.

"Rio!"

"Oh. He's got a Riolu? Lucky." Blue nodded. "Not many trainers can just have that on them."

"Stay sharp Riolu! Snorlax is a pretty durable Pokemon that can hit hard too!"

"Riolu!"

"Snorlax. Body Slam." Red made the first move this time. His Snorlax ran forward, lunging towards Riolu and planning to slam its entire body into him.

"Dodge and use Vacuum Wave!" Riolu quickly backflipped away, avoiding the Body Slam. Snorlax crashed on to the ground, making it shake from just falling. The Emanation Pokemon then unleashed waves of vacuums that made contact with the huge Pokemon. Snorlax definitely felt the hits, but it didn't really seem to be affected by them. It was a very durable Pokemon at the end of the day.

"High Horsepower." Snorlax once again used its entire body as a weapon as it smashed into Riolu, sending the small baby Pokemon flying.

"Rio!" Riolu fell on the ground, feeling the impact of High Horsepower.

"You okay, Riolu?"

"Rio." Riolu stood up, holding his head. He was still raring to go.

"Wild Charge." Snorlax surrounded itself in electricity, running towards Riolu once more.

"Use Double Team!" Riolu suddenly split itself into multiple afterimage clones, confusing Snorlax. Snorlax halted its movements, confused on which one was Riolu. "Gotcha! Force Palm!" The real Riolu showed himself, running towards Snorlax and striking its palm on its huge belly. Snorlax was sent flying by the sheer power of Force Palm. And it did some pretty sweet damage in the process, even for a Pokemon as durable as Snorlax. Red was impressed. He hasn't had a battle this engaging since he battled on Mt. Silver.

"...." Red suddenly returned his Snorlax back to its Pokeball. He wanted to send out his next Pokemon for this. And what was the next one he there out? It was a Lapras.

"Lap!"

"Lapras, huh? Alright. Riolu, keep sharp."

"Riolu!"

"Lapras. Blizzard." The Transport Pokemon suddenly summoned harsh Blizzard that appeared in Ponyville. The Blizzard had pelted hail towards Riolu, distracting it as some of it got in the Emanation Pokemon's eyes.

The ponies all felt the Blizzard hit them, giving them all a chill. "D-D-D-Did he have to g-g-g-go for a move like t-t-that?!" Twilight stuttered, unable to handle the cold like everypony else.

"This isn't good...Riolu! Vacuum Wave!" Ash had to find a way to get rid of this Blizzard. So as a response, Riolu shot Vacuum Waves forward, blowing away bits of the Blizzard. One Vacuum Wave managed to strike Lapras right in the face. The Blizzard had finally stop due to this. "Good job! Now head in Force Palm!" Riolu rushed in, ready to strike the Transport Pokemon.

"Psychic." Red gave off a powerful command. Lapras's eyes emanated a purple light as it lifted Riolu up from the ground with its hidden psychic prowess. Lapras sent Riolu back with Psychic whilst also dealing massive damage to him in the process. "Repeat." Lapras then brought Riolu back, ready to repeat the attack.

"Rio?!"

"Oh no! Quick Riolu! Use Vacuum Wave!" Riolu had stopped Lapras's Psychic by once again, hitting it in the face with a ranged Vacuum Wave. "Yes!"

"Hydro Pump." However, Lapras retaliated immediately. It was right up in Riolu's face, hitting the baby Pokemon with a highly concentrated Hydro Pump. This attack was devastating for Riolu as it was rocketed to the ground by it. Everypony felt the hit as well. They could tell that Riolu took massive damage from that.

"R-Riolu..." The Emanation Pokemon was slowly getting up as he had tatters all over him.

"His Pokemon's pretty formidable. But it's just a baby Pokemon at the end of the day. It's not gonna do much against a Pokemon like Lapras." said Blue.

"That Lapras has got some pretty scary moves on it...If either Psychic or Hydro Pump lands, it's not gonna be pretty. Unless..." Ash was about to perform his usual crazy antics once more. "Riolu! Run in and spin with Vacuum Wave!" And there it was. Whatever Ash was planning, his Pokemon just went along with it as usual. Riolu ran forward whilst having Vacuum Waves in his palm. At first, everypony thought this was Counter Shield, but it wasn't.

"Lapras. Psychic." Red went for a devastating move once more. But things were different this time. Riolu's spinning with Vacuum waves had resembled that of a tornado as they were moving around, constantly hitting Lapras in the face. Because of this, Lapras couldn't focus properly, meaning that it couldn't Psychic right now. Red was impressed. Through all of his years of battling he had never met a trainer like Ash. He's never met someone who improvises with moves. For the longest time, he's just been battling in a simple way. This was a fresh change of pace. He gave off a smirk, glad that he could enjoy a battle as interesting as this.

"Now! Get closer!" Riolu got closer whilst spinning around. Soon the Emanation Pokemon was up close and personal at the Transport Pokemon. "Force Palm!"

"Hydro Pump!" Red finally raised his voice. Both Pokemon unleashed their strongest attacks. Riolu's palm made contact with Hydro Pump as they both collided. An explosion of water occurred from the clash, causing both Riolu and Lapras to be knocked back. The result? Both of them had actually fainted.

"Rio..."

"Lap..."

"A double faint?" Applejack said.

"You did good Riolu." Ash went up to Riolu, picking him up.

"Riolu..."

"Get a good rest." Ash carried Riolu over to Fluttershy who's Audino was ready to heal Riolu up. "You're pretty awesome, Red. Your team's kinda making me try all sorts of new things."

"...." Red gave off a silent 'hmph' with a smirk on his face. He had one Pokemon he always used in battle. To him, this was Red's best Pokemon and his best partner, similar to how Ash's best partner is his Pikachu. He tossed out the Pokeball, sending out his strongest Pokemon.

Charizard.

"CHAR!" The Flame Pokemon let out a mighty roar that shook the area around them.

"Charizard huh? This is gonna be a tough one." Ash already knew how much a powerhouse a Charizard can be. Out of all the Pokemon he's encountered and owned before, Charizard is definitely the one that always continues to impress him with how powerful they are, despite the trainer. "If that's the case. Then I choose you! Dragonite!" Ash sent out Dragonite to deal with Charizard. A fitting Pokemon to go up against it.

"DRA!"

"Hold on." Twilight examined the situation. She realised that the two Pokemon were actually very alike in appearance with slight differences here and there. She also realised that this could get ugly. Really fast. If two Pokemon battle, then who knows what the outcome will be? "Uh. Maybe we should put this one on a hold for n-" Too late. The two of them were so into the battle that nothing was going to stop them.

"Dragonite! Hyper Beam!"

"Charizard! Fire Blast!"

Two devasting attacks that were some of the strongest in Pokemon history met against each other. A beam of pure hyper energy and blast of pure fire. Once they both collided, a shockwave so grand and so intense spread across Ponyville. In fact, everypony had been knocked back by the shockwave as some of them were sent flying into the air. Their homes were even affected as well with the windows shattering in the process. Even Twilight's castle, which was fairly distant was affected. The banner on it flew off due to the two attacks clashing.

"Dragon Claw!" Both trainers gave off the exact same commands to their Pokemon. Both Pokemon clashed claws with draconic energy surrounding them. They flew around, constantly hitting each other back and forth with Dragon Claw. Charizard had hit Dragonite all the way through a tree, obliterating it. Charizard then flew over at Dragonite, ready to unleash another Dragon Claw on it. The Dragon Pokemon quickly retaliated by swinging its claw faster than Charizard could. Everypony was staying at a faraway distance, not wanting to get caught up in all of this.

"Hurricane!" Ash raised his fists in the air, making Dragonite fly around in the air. The speed it was moving at was enough to generate a mighty hurricane.

"Fly in and use Dragon Claw!" Red decided to get creative as well. Charizard flew into the Hurricane and thanks to it being part Flying, Hurricane wasn't too much of a bother to it. Charizard struck Dragonite's belly with Dragon Claw, dealing some heavy damage.

"Blow Charizard away with Hyper Beam!" Dragonite returned the favour by unleashing Hyper Beam. Due to the two of them being side a Hurricane, the Hyper Beam's impact affected Hurricane, causing a powerful wind pressure to spread across Ponyville. Both trainers held their hats as they could feel the wind blowing on them. Both Charizard and Dragonite were still up, barely even close to fainting as they landed down on the ground. Red was about to push it even further as he revealed to have a mega ring on his wrist.

"Alright! That's enough!" Mayor Mare bellowed.

Both trainers stopped their battle, looking around the area. They just now noticed that their battle had caused some damage to Ponyville. If they were to continue, all of Ponyville would be destroyed in the process.

"Woah. Guess we went overboard just a bit huh?" Ash chuckled as Red had a tiny and silent chuckle.

"A bit?!" They all said.

The battle finally came to an end with it being postponed. Everypony let out a sigh of relief, glad that it was over. Well...some of them were upset that the battle had ended. Ash and Red helped clean up the mess since they were one who caused it thanks to their Pokemon. Audino had healed up their Pokemon as they chipped in to clean up the rubble and mess caused by them.

"That was the most intense Pokemon battle yet. I guess that's the result when two seasoned trainers go against each other, huh?" said Twilight.

"I'll say. I've never seen Red so into a battle before. In fact, I've never seen him smile that much. Your pal Ash really left a good impression on him." Blue replied.

"Your friend Red is pretty great too. It's kinda cool how he's so serious all the time." Rainbow Dash commented.

"Anyways. We've hung around here enough. We're heading back home."

"You're leaving already? Come on, stay for a bit!" Pinkie bounced to him.

"No can do. Got a lot of important stuff to do back home. But hey...we can come back another time. This place ain't so bad."

"I guess so. The gateway to your world is right at Everfree after all." Fluttershy nodded.

"Yo, Red! Let's get a move on!" Blue called for his rival.

"..." Red nodded walking towards his old friend.

"It was fun meeting you ponies. We'll stop by at any time."

"Wait!" Ash ran up to them. "If your world's a parallel of our Pokemon world...does that mean that there are guys like Brock and Misty there?"

"The early Gym Leaders? Yeah, why?"

"Awesome! So it is a parallel world after all! I wonder what everyone else is like there? I can't wait to see it!"

"He's sure eager. He's definitely the more expressive version of you, huh?" Blue chuckled as Red gave a small smirk.

"Red! Let's have another battle someday! A full one!"

"Pika-Pikachu!"

"Alright." Red finally spoke in a casual manner instead of commands as he and Blue took their leave. They passed through the gateway, returning to their version of Kanto. But to everypony's surprise, the gateway started to move, as if it was changing locations. The gateway took the skies, floating on to who knows where? It now had a new location that had yet to be discovered.

"D-Did it just?" Lyra stuttered.

"...Okay that's it. I'm heading to bed." Amethyst sighed, having enough of this. It was a wild day for everypony. After the battle, they needed a break.

"I can't wait to see who else might come through the gateway? Wonder what some of our friends are like in the other world, huh buddy?"

"Pikachu!"

A new world has been discovered today. Identical to the world of Pokemon. Whatever lies beyond that third gateway to another world is just filled with familiar faces that have yet to truly show themselves to all of Equestria. One thing's for sure, this won't be the last time they cross paths as the mysteries that surround all three worlds are still waiting to be discovered.
As the journey continues.
