Remove the Antithesis

Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon Festival. Local Hospital. Nightfall.

"What?! Mew?!" Back at the hospital, Rainbow Dash found herself speaking to Pinkie Pie, who was using Spitfire's Xtransceiver. Pinkie could be seen with Coco Pommel as they were both hiding from Merry Dread's posse as best as they could. But with how minimal the Manehattan Contest Hall was, they didn't have many options to work with.

"That's everything that's happened so far." Pinkie Pie brought them all up to speed in light of recent events. So far, Equestria has received three demon attacks. The Memory Demon. The Bull Demon and now the demon that was circling in the stars. But that last one was yet to be seen or heard of by Ash and his friends. In Pinkie Pie's vicinity, a crashing sound could be heard, alerting her and Coco Pommel. "But on the bright side, the Wonderbolts are doing their best."

"Yeah, but I'm not there." Rainbow Dash grumbled. "They could've called me first..."

"I don't know how I'm gonna get Mew back. And finding a new place to hide is getting harder and harder. If we weren't running for our lives, this would be the best Hide and Seek Game ever."

"I mean...I trust in Spitfire to free Glaceon. But she's on her own right now with only Scizor helping out. As long as Merry Dread uses her magic, no one can resist her." Coco Pommel added. "Cutting her tail is harder than it looks with who she has on her side."

"We'll be on our way," Ash said before holding his chest, still in pain. Princess Celestia had yet to show up to try and reverse this pain with her magic. Mainly because was occupied with the third demon. As it stands now, that black spot from the Memory Demon would remain. "Gh!"

"You're not leaving with that injury." Twilight, on the other hoof, recovered from the explosion. She still wasn't in full health but her condition was far better than what Ash was in. "But...I'm still a bit winded here."

"You're both not leaving just yet." Rarity interjected. "But where is Princess Celestia? She hasn't appeared at all..."

"Probably dealing with her own demon," Sombra added. "After that announcement, it stands to reason that the big figures would be targeted. I would do the same thing too. As we speak, Canterlot could be falling victim to a fierce demon attack."

"Thanks for the input, Sombra. That makes us feel better." Twilight sighed before smirking. "Then again...the Crystal Empire's the closest to Magehold, right? You won't take back your throne that way."

"!" Sombra's eyes widened a bit as Twilight got him there. The Crystal Empire being the closest to Magehold made it a viable target. Possibly, that might have been the first area to be targeted instead of Ponyville.

"Everyone!" Bursting into the room with high energy, more than she usually carries, was Fluttershy. "I can't find Stoutland anywhere!"

"Stoutland's missing?!" Ash gasped before harming himself yet again. "Ow!"

"I checked everywhere. Town Hall and even his favourite play spots. All the Pokemon back at the Pokemon House tried their best but...I think Stoutland's not in Ponyville anymore."

"You don't think the Memory Demon took him away?!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "But we got rid of that thing, didn't we? We saw it and did it ourselves."

"Impossible." Just then, Sombra shook his head, having something else to say. "You can defeat these demons...but you cannot destroy them."

"We can't?" They all repeated.

"Not at all. If you try, they will survive and come back. Or either retreat into the box. The one who made the Box of 100 Demons made it so that no matter what, the demons would never perish. The magical power that comes from the box gives them a grandiose form of protection. Then again...it's hard to say if they can never perish since there hasn't been a way to truly finish them off. But nothing in this world is invincible, right?"

"Who made the box anyway? Was it someone from the Dread League?" Pinkie Pie said while on the Xtransceiver.

"Chrysalis' mother said that it came from Tartarus, so someone down there must've made it," Ash recalled how Mellifera mentioned the creation of the Box of 100 Demons. He could hear her words now and the moment the box was revealed to him.

"A chest that holds demons that originated from Tartarus itself. Some even from the darkest depths of it. 100 of them were locked up long ago due to how the horrors that they could display and unleash upon the world. Even I can't help but fear some of those horrific monstrosities inside of it."

"It did. But the one who made it is a mystery. And frankly, it's best that it's kept that way. But knowing how curious you are, you may all get adventurous again." Sombra finished.

"We can handle that later. Hoopa. Can you try your hand at a few things?" Ash turned to the Mischief Pokemon, requesting his assistance once again.

"Hoopa can try and bring everyone else here." Hoopa held his ring out. "But...Hoopa hasn't been to Manehattan yet. Where's that?"

"I'm not leaving until I Glacoen back." Coco Pommel said through the Xtransceiver. "But, it's not like I can do much to get her back."

"We'll come to you then. How's the contest hall looking?" Ash asked. Right on the mark, the next form of destruction would show itself. This time, the moment when Merry Dread unleashed most of her curse magic would arrive. It wasn't just the walls melting around the hall. Now, it was the floor.

"Gyah!" Pinkie Pie's eyes cartoonishly popped out. She would jump up, trying to find something to latch on to. But right now, there was nothing safe to latch on to. Everything was melting. At the speed of a wildfire, rooms were being liquified by Merry Dread, who had recently been agitated thanks to Spitfire's reversal.

"Everything's melting!" Coco yelled as she and Pinkie Pie held each other. They would back up as quickly as they could, trying to outpace the melting floor. Their only hope was heading outside if they could get the chance. And abruptly, the Xtransceiver hung up on them, ending the communication. Without a farewell.

"I'm heading there now." Rainbow Dash set her sights on Manehattan once she saw how things escalated. She would quickly open the nearby window, letting the window before spreading her wings out. With Pinkie Pie in peril, they would all go. At least, those who were still in good condition, aside from Ash and Twilight.

"I'm coming with you guys." Knowing his condition, Ash would still try and show up. No matter what, if his friends were in trouble, he would go the distance to help them.

"Ohh, Ash...why won't you stay put when you need to?" Twilight sighed as Ash stood up, choosing to power through the pain. Even if that was detrimental to him. But Twilight acknowledged this before getting off her own bed. "No use stopping you. Plus, my home's in trouble too. I need to make sure mom and dad are doing fine."

"Don't do it." But Sombra, who needed Ash to be in one piece since he was connected to him, insisted that Ash ceased whatever hyperactive action he would take next. "For your sake and for my sake."

"Princess Celestia still isn't here either," Fluttershy said. "You might need her to heal you."

"Ashkan! Let Hoopa take you to Celestikan." Hoopa suggested, going for the easier route. Thankfully, Canterlot was a location he's already visited thanks to the further construction of the stairway. "Does that sound good?"

"Great. Thanks, Hoopa. That'll do the trick." Ash approved, giving a thumbs-up. "But if Celestia's taking a while, then maybe she's already dealing with a demon just like what Sombra said."

"Only one way to find out." Sombra smiled before reverting to his shadow form.

"I'll...stay behind. For family, after all." But Applejack chose to stay here, solely for her family. With how rapidly these attacks were approaching, she couldn't afford to stay away from her family. There was also the issue of Stoutland being missing, which was also something to handle. If they could get all get the chance.

Sinnoh. Out in a forest.

At this moment, Opal Vivacity, the one who spearheaded this attack, was currently choosing to relax instead of involving herself in all of this. And she did so lavishly. She sat on a chair that glistened beautifully in the night while also helping herself to the treats of the Pokemon World. Around her was a decorated garden of sharp roses. Opal was practically eating like a queen at this point.

All the while, over in the distance, another demon was on the move. Four ghastly eyes stare down at the innocents below with a bone-chilling intensity, and another wail rages from its fanged mouth in a fit of rage. Spiky tendrils adorn its thick head, which itself is thick as leather. A constant plume of smoke escapes the creature's crooked nostrils set within a pudgy nose. Its thick head sits atop a short, stringy body. Chains are stuck within its flesh, perhaps the remnants of an encounter in a different world. The creature moves forward slowly, its four legs gracefully carrying its reptilian body with a feverish energy. A shadowy tail writhes behind it, electric energies pulse from it with every movement. These chains would then shoot out along with the electricity, raining destruction on whoever it eyed down.

"Mmm! So good~!" Opal gushed at the taste of this world's food. "After the Black Crusade, I hope we get to keep the food around. Do you think Yveltal's power messes with food too? I hope not. Then again, we can always just ask them what the recipe is before they become skeletons."

"This is great and all but...aren't you worried?" Alongside her was Melody Moon and Bittersweet as Melody nudged Opal, interrupting her tasty moment. "You did just speak to the big-wigs of Equestria after all. What if this attack fails?"

"Pretty sure that's not the point of this." Bittersweet shook her head. "We're only doing this to soften it up for Queen Rosa and Yveltal. We're not actually going to defeat them here and now."

"Bittersweet is right, Melody. Too many factors to consider. Even with Yveltal's power...do you think the other Legendary Pokemon are going to let everything just perish? After all, you know about Yveltal's counterpart, right?"

"Xerneas, you mean." Melody Moon answered.

"That's the one. And that's the biggest problem we need to take into account. Because her majesty's hard work can all come crashing down just by the existence of Xerneas. So as long as that deer exists, the Black Crusade might as well be pointless. Not only that but this world has too many guardians to our liking. Any one of these Pokemon will do what they can to stop our crusade. So, softening up both worlds is what we need to do. We're lucky that there aren't that many guardians back in our world."

"I guess. But what about Xerneas? What do we do about that?" Melody Moon asked. "Or, has her majesty already figured something out?"

"She has indeed." Opal Vivacity ginned while watching the demon in the distance wreak havoc with ever-growing intensity and violence. "Aside from capturing Yvetal and using its power, she had a second plan to erase any flaws in the crusade. I can still remember her words now..."

"We will capture Yveltal. But that is not all. Xerneas has to go. That Pokemon can't be allowed to exist. It's the complete anthesis to our plan and our league. Though we're struggling to find Yveltal, we'll put all our efforts into Xerneas as well."

"So, that's the other plan. When we find Xerneas...well immediately put an end to the cycle of life." The Dread League had another horrifying plan in mind. Ridding this world of Xerneas entirely since it was the one Pokemon who could ruin everything for them.

Canterlot. Nightfall.

Unfortunately, when arriving at Canterlot, just outside the entrance, they wouldn't be met with anything pleasant. Sombra's assumption was spot on. At this very moment, Canterlot was potentially having the most dangerous demon attack by far. And that was from the demon that was up in space.

This demon had sucked up asteroids, shooting them out to cause destruction. But not only that, it ended up hatching smaller versions of the demon out of the asteroids which were just as large as Town Hall. Canterlot was assaulted by these horrific demons, who started crawling over their homes.

These Snake Demons would constrict the homes of the residents living in them, slowly crushing them as the windows were breaking apart. The whip-like tails would viciously knock off the roofs and anything that got in the way, only accelerating the mess. The residents would flee their homes and even try to flee Canterlot, but not with the abundance of demons getting in their way.

"Sylveon! Moonblast!" Of course, those that were here wouldn't just allow this destruction to go on. Cadence had Sylveon use Moonblast, interrupting one of the demons from continuing a fierce attack. This ball of Fairy Magic that came from the Moon struck the demon directly, knocking it over.

"Darkrai! Thunderbolt!" Luna yelled, ordering Darkrai as she was currently holding Snowdrop next to her. The Pitch Black Pokemon used Thunderbolt as an area of effect, making one bolt latch onto the next nearby target.

"Twilight! You're all here!" Celestia would notice Twilight's arrival just by the entrance. "Sorry for being late! As you can see, we already have a demon problem."

"This is a mess...Is that Kyurem?!" Twilight gasped, looking up at the sky to see Kyurem approaching the demon from above. This whole scene was a mess in every way. Whether it was the demons that hatched from the asteroids, the hole in the golden stairway or the presence of two giant creatures.

Kyurem had already entered space by giving himself in an extra boost in his white form. He was already set to remove the root of this problem. The demon was revealed to be around the stratosphere instead of at a high place in space. Even so, upon seeing Kyurem approach, the demon would slither away.

Knowing that Kyurem was intimidating, even being later than it, the demon would not engage at all, surprisingly. But that didn't stop Kyurem from chasing it down once he entered the stratosphere. But Kyurem could go further than that. He was one of the few Pokemon that could breathe in space after all.

He would immediately use Dragon Pulse, shooting out a giant draconic blast. The back of this snake demon would be attacked, or so Kyurem thought. The demon would sway the back of its body, twisting it in a disgusting manner that looked painful, allowing Dragon Pulse to miss. The demon would then slingshot itself to the side after twisting its body, continuing to flee from Kyurem.

The Boundary Pokemon narrowed his eyes with a growl. He wasn't up for a chase. But it seemed like that would be the case. The demon would then continue to suck up more asteroids along the way, gathering more ammo. But this time, the ammo would be used against Kyurem. The demon would still retaliate to ensure its safety, unleashing asteroids at a rapid pace.

Kyurem bashed his body through the asteroids with just brute strength alone, breaking them apart and ceasing the chance of any more demons being birthed from them. Kyurem would then throw an Ice Beam from his hands, hoping to freeze the demon in its tracks. Before that, he made sure to aim carefully and then unleash it when the time was right. The demon would attempt to evade by messing with its own serpentine body yet again, only to have its tail frozen.

Kyurem successfully got one part of this demon, only to then witness it separate itself from its tail. The demon ripped most of its body away from its tail, leaving it in the ice. After removing its own tail, the demon would simply grow a new one. This time, as if to mock Kyurem, making it out of ice in response to what froze the previous tail.

Another Dragon Pulse would be unleashed, but this time, the demon would face the attack. By rotating its head like an owl, the demon would stare right at Dragon Pulse. By opening its horrific mouth with millions of teeth, the demon would then use its power to suck up the blast instead of trying to evade it. With a strong sense vacuum mouth, the demon managed to pull in Dragon Pulse, forcing it down.

The demon would then close its mouth as the attack would then blow up inside of its stomach. It received inner damage from this with holes being blown through it. The energy of Kyurem's Dragon Pulse would burst out of it as the demon looked like it would pop just like a balloon.

But instead, it would allow the energy to stay in there as the inside of its stomach had been revealed. It matched that of outer space. Devoid of nothing. Kyurem was taken aback by this as this demon practically had a stomach void. This was further proven as once the attack ran its course, the demon would patch up its holes, having an empty stomach instead of a full one. But it did look satisfied with that attack, blowing out blue smoke while having that cheeky grin on your face.

"You're a tricky one. So whatever you suck in won't ever be enough, eh?" Kyurem said. But the demon wasn't done showing off its tricks.

Because after absorbing Dragon Pulse, as if those Dragon wings weren't enough, its face then morphed into that of a dragon. In a few seconds, the demon changed how its face looked and even parts of its body. It soon gained Dragon Scales, becoming a new type of Dragon. All it took was eating up Dragon Pulse.

Kyurem was surprised without a doubt. That demon's mouth and stomach were something to behold, despite how disturbing it may be. But even more disturbing was the fact that the demon used its own version of Dragon Pulse. A red Dragon Pulse flew out of the demon's massive mouth, striking back at Kyurem.

Kyurem received this Red Dragon Pulse, taking a super-effective hit in the process. Infinity Energy was packed behind this attack as the demon even managed to mimic that. The Boundary Pokemon growled, flying back and bumping into some nearby asteroids. He would then hold his head before viciously eyeing down the demon that perfectly copied Dragon Pulse.

Even the Legendary Kyurem had to admit something. This would be a problem that wouldn't be solved as quickly as he wanted it to be.

And the same went for Canterlot. After Syvleon used another Moonblast, the same smaller demon would suck it in. Attacks from Darkrai's Thunderbolt and Luna's other Pokemon would be absorbed too once they came close. And just like the one that created them, these smaller demons would change their bodies.

The Thunderbolt from Darkrai turned one of the demons into a living electrical entity, similar to how the Storm Behemoth was nothing but electricity and lightning. Sylveon's Moonblast would turn another into a slightly graceful but still disturbing demon with Fairy Wings and a pink aura to boot. Other attacks gave them different Types. Water, Ice, Ghost, Steel and Psychic. All of this came from Luna's Pokemon and some Pokemon from the Canterlot Guards.

"Absorption?!" Luna pulled back.

"That's not fair..." Shining Armor uttered as it was easy to see how these demons functions. They would then retaliate with the very attacks that were used against them. One of them brought on a tidal wave by shooting it out of its mouth. This was the cause of Frillish trying to defeat one of the demons, only further elevating their strength. "Oh! King's Shield!"

"Aegislash!" Aegislash would shield the others by putting up his signature defensive shield. Since these demons were now utilizing Infinity Energy, King's Shield would successfully work out, blocking the attack. But even after blocking it, the wave would crash into buildings, breaking parts of them away with intense volumes of water.

"That was close...Good thing they haven't taken anything from Aegislash yet." Shining Armor sighed as only Aegislash managed to get some hits in without worrying about any absorption. Everyone, not so much.

"Only Aegislash?" Iris noticed how Aegislash was the odd one out in all of this.

"Is Uncle Kyurem going to be okay?" Snowdrop asked Luna, worried about Kyurem and what he was doing up there.

"Don't worry. Your uncle is the World's Strongest Dragon Pokemon after all." Luna replied. "He'll be fine. We should make sure we can be fine even with what's in front of us."

"So they went with some of the best demons out of that box." Sombra noticed, speaking through Ash while staying hidden. Once again, he knew more about these demons, especially the one that was attacking Canterlot. "The Absorption Demon is a splendid choice."

"Absorption Demon?" Ash repeated.

"That's right. Throw anything at it and it will absorb it in that endless stomach of its that knows no end, copying whatever it wants to copy. It doesn't have the concept of being full thanks to how boundless its stomach is."

"Good to know." Celestia flew over. "Passion and I almost found that out the hard way. Ash. Are you doing alright?"

"A bit. This spot's really getting to me though." Ash showed off his black spot and how it was vigorously pulsating. "Can you really do something about this?"

"Let me see." Celestia would focus all her efforts on this one spot. At least, her healing efforts. Everything else was reserved for the demons. Speaking of the demons, two of them would slither in the direction of Ash's group, aiming to get the jump on them.

Unfortunately for them, Audino would hear them coming just by how audible their slithering was. Fluttershy was alerted and soon Rarity and Twilight would perk up to see the demons now fixating on them. These demons were looking for something new to gain and to them, Ash's group were the newest ones here.

But the demons would also look at Princess Celestia and Gardevoir, who had a lot to give out on their own. Much like Kyurem, the demons would go for the biggest thing here. And so far, four of them looked like they could fill that category.

As Celestia started healing Ash's black spot with the light of her magic, Pikachu, Gardevoir, Audino, Espeon and Pheromosa would stand in front of their friends as guardians. But there was one massive issue. These two demons had already had their fill of Infinity Energy, appearing as Steel and Fire-Types. Their absorption abilities boasted a problem. A problem they had to solve. And one that Kyurem was trying to find a way through as the journey continues.
