Pure Energy

Total darkness.

Both worlds were now living in total darkness with this intense blackout. From the entire Pokemon World to all of Equestria. A solution to solving this problem had been found thanks to Celestia remembering the Recupilate spell, however, all that progress had been depleted once a second electrical pulse went off. The adapter which was now a vessel continued to build up heaps of electrical power with over 90,000,000 volts building up constantly. The more it builds up, the stronger it becomes and the more aggressive the pulse will become. The first pulse managed to cause a worldwide blackout and even destroyed many machines, devices, appliances and any other electrical source of power. The second pulse already managed to destroy ceilings, windows and doors...who knows what the third one will do once it reaches a certain point. So far, the only place in Equestria that hasn't been affected as much is Cloudsdale. Thankfully the first two pulses didn't reach that high. But the third one could if it does go off.

Pikachu felt a strange jolt in him the moment the second pulse went off. It made him feel off.

"Pi...Pikachu..." Pikachu shuddered.

"What's wrong Pikachu?" Ash asked his buddy.

"Pika-Pika." Pikachu's body was jittering as Ash held his best friend in his arms, carrying him.

"Hey, Ash. Look." Goh pointed over at everypony being outside of their homes due to the second pulse. Ponies were using their magic to emit some light in order to counteract the darkness, but it wasn't really effective.

"Them too? So it didn't just affect us." Ash and Goh walked up to the ponies who were chatting about the second pulse and how it woke them up.

"Hm? Oh, Ash and Goh. What are you two doing here so late at night?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"We're here to look for help to restore power to back to our world. But it looks like the same thing has happened to your world too." Ash replied.

"Yep. It was the craziest thing! Jade and I were just minding our own business, just being the best of buds and then all of a sudden, some weird shaky thing hit SugarCube Corner and shut all the lights off. And to make it worse, it even destroyed everything inside. The oven, stove, fridge, all of it! Weird night."

"The pulse was that powerful it reached here?" said Goh.

"Well, a second one just happened a few seconds. So where's it coming from?" Ash wondered.

"Pikachu..." Pikachu still felt off with his cheeks flowing with tons of electrons. His little body wouldn't stop jittering as blue electricity was also sparking out of him for a bit.

"Pikachu looks a bit off tonight. I think we'd better get you checked up, buddy."

"Pikapi."

"Tell Twilight that I came by to ask her to help with the power problem. I'll be at the Pokemon House!" Ash ran off with Pikachu, leaving Goh with Pinkie and the others.

Over at the Pokemon House, Fluttershy wasn't even aware of the blackout at all. She was asleep long ago as were most of the Pokemon. Some Pokemon were awake due to the pulse waking them up, especially the Pokemon that were weak to electric. Fluttershy's Audino was up late, tending to the Pokemon who were the most affected by the pulse.

"Audino..."

"Audino!" Ash called for her. "Audino. Can you please check up on Pikachu? I think something's wrong with him. He's jittering for some reason."

"Pika...chu..." The Electric Mouse Pokemon began to squirm.

"Audi. Audino." Audino took Pikachu off Ash's hands, ready to care for him as well. She looked at Pikachu's current state and noticed how he was letting out small jolts of his normal lightning colour and a new azure coloured one. She then realized that this sudden jittering with Pikachu could be linked with the pulse. She placed Pikachu down, using Refresh to mildly slow down his jittering. But the volts that laid within him were still there.

"Thanks, Audino." Ash kneeled down to look at his buddy.

"Audino." Audino nodded at Ash as a response. Ash stayed behind to take care of his buddy whilst at Ponyville, Twilight, Celestia and Pyrestar who were at Twilight's Pokemon Lab, had hit a brick wall. The second pulse had now complicated things to a massive degree. They were making such good progress and all of a sudden, it just raced back down to zero. They spent the last 25 minutes going around Ponyville and repairing and restarting everything and all of that was just wiped out when the second pulse arrived.

The alicorn trio had their hooves full with more work now. Instead of now taking all night, it could possibly take days due to the extra damage that was done. Not to mention the fact that Luna is occupied in the Dream Realm. She still has to guard the dreams of everypony still, so she can't help out at the moment.

"All that hard work...gone. What caused the second pulse?" Twilight sighed.

"It has to be a Pokemon. Possibly an Electric-Type." Celestia replied. "Twilight. Do you know of a Pokemon that can emit that much electrical power?"

"A Pokemon that can do that? Let's see..." Twilight began to dig deep in her memory. She recalled the time she first went over Pokemon history and she remembered something about the Legendary Pokemon Zekrom. "Maybe it's Zekrom!"

"Zekrom?" Celestia and Pyrestar both said.

"Zekrom is a Dragon-Electric-Type. Apparently, it has the most powerful Electric-Type attacks out of any Pokemon. It's the only Pokemon capable of emitting that much electric power. So it must be causing it from the other world."

"Then it's power must be something grand if it can even affect our world."

"Oh, I can assure you that Zekrom's not behind this at all." A familiar and friendly voice corrected them. BigTime Ben and his always by his side partner Gothitelle had shown up. He emitted some light by having his Gothitelle use the move Flash. In fact, many trainers in the Pokemon World were already doing that, at least the ones that had Flash on their Pokemon.

"BigTime Ben?" Twilight said.

"If it was Zekrom, we would've noticed a huge storm cloud that would've emitted high volts of lightning unparalleled by any Pokemon else."

"So, it's not Zekrom. What could it be then?" Twilight asked.

"Most likely outcome...Probably an overload. Somewhere out there, a device must've been overflown with heaps of electrons. Those electrons are possibly the cause of this intense electrical pulse."

"How do you know all of this?" Celestia questioned.

"My company's been affected as well. Everything's been shut down. In fact...our entire world has been hit with a blackout."

"The entire world?!" All three of them exclaimed.

"Mhm. Every region is experiencing the same thing. Even my hometown Johto's been hit. And it's the least technologically advanced region out there. I suppose it managed to affect your world as well as judging from the looks of it."

"Indeed it has. We've managed to find a way around it, however. We used a repairing spell and the Recupilate spell have proven to be effective in restoring power. However, ever since the second pulse hit, our progress has dwindled back to zero, unfortunately." Pyrestar sighed.

"Whew. Sounds like you've hit a brick wall. But don't worry. That's why I'm here to help."

"Really? How?" Twilight asked.

"I didn't come here just to check up on the state of your blackout. Instead, I've been gathering the assistance of every other region to help restore power. You see, there are some Pokemon that can solve this. Mostly Electric-Types, since they give off the most energy out of any other Pokemon. As for the broken devices, appliances, etc, Psychic-Types like my Gothitelle here are all we need. I came here to ask if you would help us in restoring power and getting rid of this blackout."

"Of course! If your world is already making a team effort in fixing this problem, then we'll do the same. We are struggling a bit, honestly." Celestia chuckled.

"But how did you manage to get the other regions to act so fast?" Once again, Twilight asked.

"Simple. For my company, in every part of the region, my workers have Psychic-Type Pokemon that connect telepathically. My Gothitelle here acts as the main link. The boss of all the Psychic-Types there. She uses her immense telepathy to communicate with the other Psychic-Types across all regions. That's how my company works so fast. Because they're always being updated with Gothitelle giving the word." Ben patted his Pokemon on the back.

"Gothitelle.

"There's still one issue we have to deal with. Where that pulse is coming from. So far, the only traces my scientists have given me is that the pulse is originating somewhere in Unova. Castelia City." Ben explained.

"The gateway to Castelia isn't too far from here. I can probably make it there in time before the third pulse goes off. Princess Celestia. Please let me set off to find the source of the pulse." Twilight turned to Celestia.

"Towards the source? Hmm...it may be highly dangerous due to the second one being much more powerful than the first. Who knows how dangerous the third one may be. But if you are up to the task, then I shall allow you to head off and stop the pulse, before a third one goes off."

"Thank you! And I won't be alone. I've got the greatest friends that ever could be found." Twilight smiled as her Espeon and Minccino went up to her along with Spike and Owlicious. "I and my friends will make sure that this pulse comes to an end."

"Hm. She's certainly much more upbeat than Midnight," said Pyrestar. "Curious."

"Great! We all know our roles then. I'm off to inform the rest of my company to keep on restoring power across Johto. Won't be long until we can communicate with other regions. I request if you'd please inform Ponyville to do the same if you can."

"I'll make sure that Equestria pitches in to help. Thank you BigTime Ben." thanked Celestia.

And what of Unova? The location where the pulse starts. The teenager who lives in the apartment where the energy source is was starting to panic. He had left his room to avoid getting hit by any more electrical attacks from the adapter. He was in a bit of a rough spot now. He was feeling two fear rushes right now.

The first. The fear of being found responsible for this since he was the one who set it all off. And if they find out, he could be given severe punishment such as prison time.

And the second being the fear of taken out by the electrical pulse a third time. It already ruined his onesie the first time, puffed his hair the second time and the third one could be devastating to him.

"This is bad. This is really bad...I messed up big time! What did I do wrong?!" He pulled his hair, feeling stressed out. Gently opening the door to his room, he looked over at the box that the TV originally came in as he grabbed the guidebook. Opening it, he realised that the guidebook said these exact words that were of critical importance.

"Only utilize 24K HD if there are fewer electronics surrounding or active. We advise you to turn off any other electronics that may be present. Maximum capacity of 4 can be active and on."

"Seriously?" He groaned as he had tons of electronics in his one apartment room. It didn't help that since this was an apartment, the neighbours had electronics that were close as well. So this was bound to be a disaster from day one. "I'm sticking to 4K. On the bright side. Can't get crazier than some pulse."

The minute he said that the third pulse had activated. But this time, it was different. Instead of affecting the entire world, the third pulse managed to form something. The adapter began gyrating with sparks of electricity flying out. The teenager went back outside in order to avoid the next wave. But this wasn't a wave. The electrons had gathered up in one spot with so much grand energy to a point that it was creating a sort of figure.

This figure was made of pure electrical energy. Electricity in its most volatile form. This electric entity stood up like a human would with extremely long arms and legs. This was unreal to gaze at. The teen took a peek and noticed the electric entity right inside. He had no idea what to make of it.

"H-How...How is this even possible?"

"Yeah...how is it possible?" An unfamiliar voice responded to him, chuckling. It was revealed to be Obsidian, who blended in perfectly with the darkness. "Too bad for your movie night pal. But on the plus side, Ponyville's about to be met with an electrifying event." Obsidian was the one who was behind this. It was never the teenager's fault in the first place. Granted, it wasn't a good idea to turn it up to 24K with all those electronics on. But that would only result in a short-circuit to his adapter. Obsidian actually ended up using his magic to make the situation much worse than it already was. This was his doing. "Oh, this is gonna be good. Wonder how they're gonna overcome this one?" Obsidian rubbed his hooves together as the electric behemoth broke through the apartment with ease. Due to it being pure electricity, it could easily phase through any physical object. But not only that, it could even drain the energy of any nearby electronic and even overload it, causing them to explode.

The electric behemoth was making its way towards the gateway that leads to Equestria. Obsidian just casually followed the creature, anticipating everypony's reaction to this.

Ash's Pikachu could feel the electric behemoth on the move. This caused Pikachu to squirm on the ground, jittering even more aggressively than before.

"Pi...Pika!"

"Audino!" Audino used another Refresh on him to sustain the jittering, but it wasn't proving to be as effective as before. It still sustained him, but not by much.

"What could be wrong with him? Is it maybe that pulse that went off?" said Ash. Pikachu's electricity was starting to go haywire. The closer the behemoth got, the more erratic the electricity became. As such, Pikachu's lightning was now shooting out of its cheeks frantically, flying all over the place. They were so frantic and high voltage that they even managed to burn a nearby tree down, making Ash and Audino gasp. Pikachu's electricity had been supercharged, more than he could handle. Ponyville was completely unaware of what was coming their way, even the princesses. Celestia and Pyrestar were at Canterlot, informing everypony to help restore power whilst Twilight informs Ponyville to do the same.

Team Rocket stood by, camouflaging themselves in the darkness as they gazed over the ponies and their Pokemon. Right now, everypony was staying outside due to their homes being damaged from the second pulse. To pass the time, some of them decided to play checkers, cards or any other small activity they can do to pass the time.

"They're all out here? I thought they'd be asleep by now?" Jessie whispered.

"Looks like they've hit a blackout. The worst time to have one even. This complicates things even more. How can we nab them if they're all there?" James whispered back.

"We'll have to be extra-stealthy with this one." That's when Meowth thought of a splendid idea. "Hey...On second thought."

"What? What are thinking now Meowth?" Jessie asked.

"If these ponies need some light in this blackout...we'll just give'em some." Meowth was suggesting a good old fashioned scam.

"Scam and distract? I like the sound of that." Jessie giggled.

"A perfect snatch in the dark before the light, wouldn't you say?" James replied.

"Wobbuffet!"

Team Rocket had a new plan set in motion already. In order to get their Pokemon, they would have to distract the ponies. And what better way to distract them via scamming them off with fake flashlights. They returned back to Everfree, asking Zecora for some leftover items that she no longer needed. They managed to construct fake flashlights by utilizing some of the tree branches. Then they used Wobbuffet's psychic abilities to create artificial light that would probably only last a few minutes. Finally, they went with their typical generic yet somehow impossible to see through disguises that not even the smartest individuals can detect. And as a bonus, they utilized their many inventions to make a clean getaway afterwards. This time it came in the form a mini-Meowth vehicle with a hatch fit to store some small Pokemon inside.

"Yoohoo!" Jessie's voice called for them all. She and Team Rocket placed stand where there was a box of fake flashlights sitting in all of them. "I can see that you ponies are feeling down with all this darkness around the area. No need to worry. We have your solution right here!"

"With these full battery flashlights." James raised the box up, making everypony's manes and tail stand up with attention. "Say goodbye to the darkness with just a single of one these!"

"And it'll only cost ya 3 bits." Meowth said.

"Let me get one!" The ponies started to flock over to the stand, immediately wanting one. Once again, Team Rocket manages to con everyone they come across.

"Now now. There's enough for everypony here." Jessie giggled. Whilst the ponies were scrambling to find some bits, Meowth took the opportunity to run off to the miniature vehicle of itself, just to nab the defenceless Pokemon. Due it being dark, they wouldn't be able to see Meowth coming. Lucky for Team Rocket, the Pokemon that most ponies owned weren't exactly the strongest, so snatching them was a cinch. The hatch opened up as the Mini-Meowth was pulling Pokemon in like a vacuum. Jessie glanced over as she saw Meowth controlling the machine, snatching up all the Pokemon that could fit inside, knowing that they got what they needed. "Bingo..." She said silently. "Alright! We've run out of flashlights now. But not to worry. You've still got all the light you need."

"Sweet." Pinkie Pie attempted to utilize the flashlight, but when she did, the light didn't come on at all. Even though there never was on in the first place. "Hm? Hey. It won't come on!"

"Mine won't turn on either." Lyra said.

"These don't work at all!" Berry Punch complained. Soon everypony began complaining about the flashlights until they found out they were fakes. Nothing but used tree branches and other useless junk mixed in with it.

"Sorry! No refunds!" Both Jessie and Jame said as they lunged forward, escaping the ponies. They hopped on the Mini-Meowth, standing on top of it with a smirk on their faces.

"Sayanora, losers!" Jessie blew her tongue out at them.

"Hey! Where did Slurpuff go?!" Pinkie noticed that the Pokemon were gone.

"Hm? Raboot? Sobble?!" So did Goh.

"Those Poke-nabbers!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Who are you?!" Twilight questioned.

"Listen is that the sound of a twerpette pony I hear?" Jessie taunted.

"I hear it loud and clear." So did James. That's when they finally decided to reveal themselves by removing their simple disguises. It was time for the usual motto with Jessie leading first as well.

"Prepare for trouble, a blast from the past!"

"And make it double, while you look aghast!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all people within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"And James!"

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare for a fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!"

"Wobbuffet!"

"Oh, that was actually a nice display." Mayor Mare applauded.

"Team Rocket?! You again?!" Twilight groaned.

"You may be the new twerpette, pony but you certainly aren't the best! We'll be taking these back to the boss if you don't mind!" Jessie replied as the Mini-Meowth was on the move, dashing off.

"Get back here!" Twilight, Pinkie Pie and Rarity chased after Team Rocket, attempting to get the Pokemon back.

"Jumping juniper! They're gaining fast!" James was surprised.

"Let them have it Meowth!" Jessie turned to Meowth.

"With pleasure! Eat wind, ponies!" Meowth made the miniature vehicle exert wind currents from the back, pushing the three of them away from Team Rocket. Twilight managed to fly past the wind pressure, barely as she caught up to Team Rocket. Her horn was glowing, indicating that she was about to blast them.

"Oh no, you don't!" Jessie picked up her Wobbuffet, raising her in front of Twilight. The young alicorn unleashed a magic beam in hopes of making contact. It did make contact, but that quickly turned around when Wobbuffet's Mirror Coat triggered. It bounced the magic beam right back at Twilight, knocking her out of the sky. "Hohohohoho! Buh-Bye!" Jessie laughed devilishly as Team Rocket got a good distance away. At first, it looked like they were about to finally make their escape...until...

The Behemoth finally arrived in Equestria. With its ridiculously long arms rising up in the skies. Everypony in Ponyville and Team Rocket noticed this as they saw the hand of electricity rising up. The behemoth put its arms down, and the moment it did, it sent an electrical pulse that spread across Ponyville. This pulse managed to drain the Mini-Meowth of all of its energy, stopping its movements.

"Huh?! We've been shut down!" Meowth exclaimed. This meant that the hatch had opened up, no longer functioning. Not only that but the pulse managed to break down the vehicle. After all, this was the pulse in living form. The Pokemon escaped from the hatch, quickly returning to their trainers.

But right now, a reunion was not necessary. Ponyville had a new problem to deal with. In fact, possibly all of Equestria. This Electric Behemoth let out a roar that sounded like a thunderstorm. It was just as loud as an actual thunderstorm to the point where it woke up all of Cloudsdale as well. The buildings were taking even more punishment the moment the roar came out. It even extended all the way over to Canterlot. The ponies covered their ears once they heard that bloodcurdling roar. Twilight looked up at the 500ft Behemoth and all she could say was this.

"Oh my Arceus..."

Chapter 134 End!

Much more fierce than the Tree Behemoth.
