Ash's mom has got it going on

Kanto Region. Pallet Town. Ketchum Household.

"Ash!" A knock on the door and a whistle from Delia Ketchum came through as she opened the door to Ash's room. "Your friends will be over soon for your training day. I'll be heading off to Canterlot in a bit. Those jewels are too tempting not to buy. I hope you have everything neat and ready for guests."

"Everything looks fine here." Ash gave a thumbs up, showcasing his room. It wasn't messy but it could use some freshening up. Delia's eyes had one of doubt as she gave a slight nod.

"Pikachu."

"Mhm." She simply responded. "If you're going to train, make sure it isn't too destructive, please?"

"Righ. Oh but uh...it's not just Twilight and the others like usual. A bunch more are gonna be here." Ash gave a grin while scratching the back of his hair. "Sorry. Might get a little crowded here at Pallet Town."

"Well, as long as everything stays intact. I can count on you and Pikachu to do so, right?"

"Oh yeah! Leave it to us!"

"Pika-Pikachu!"

Delia could put her faith in her son and Pikachu without a doubt. Those two are great at living up to faiths. A slight giggle met her mouth as she left Ash and Pikachu to their own devices.

By leaving the room she went up to the picture frame of her, Ash and her husband standing together for a family portrait, picking it up. "Oh, dear. You should see Ash now. He definitely gets it from your side of the family. A spitting image."

Minutes later, ponies had arrived from their world to come and practice with Ash. Ponyville was a bit occupied with an event, so Ash suggested training at Pallet Town would be a good alternative.

Plus, his other Pokemon were nearby and he could teach them a few things for sure. The Mane 6 were obviously here as well as younger ponies since they were still new and inexperienced.

Delia herself would just stay indoors. But later, she would have a small trip around Equestria for the sake of it. However, seeing her son practice and make some food for those who work hard was also on her mind.

"Alright, gang!" Ash exclaimed. "Let's continue where we left off last time!"

"Pikachu!"

"This time can we try with Oshawott? He's been very eager." A little pony held up an Oshawott to Ash.

"Osha! Oshawott!"

"Sure sure!" Ash nodded as they were about to take things underway. Not all of them began training with Ash yet. Some of them were waiting their turn. And in the meanwhile, they can hang around Pallet Town for the time being.

"You're entering it too?" Delia spoke to Spike and the others.

"Yeah. Proving myself as a great Dragon Trainer to everyone and being a champion is a chance I'll take." Spike crossed his arms, nodding in confirmation.

"Yeah but like...I'll be the first Champion of Equestria." Rainbow Dash interrupted. "Besides, you'd better hurry. The league could be starting soon once everypony gather all 8 Gym Badges."

"By the way. Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle. How are your Gym Battles and Contests coming along?" Delia then asked the five fillies, giving them some pie.

"Pretty good. But some of the coordinators are really tough to deal with it." Sweetie Belle sighed while Apple Bloom and Scootaloo locked their eyes to the pie. "Gelidity's just too good."

"Yeah. I'll be near the Equestria League the more I push myself. The fourth Gym's the scariest they say, right?" Scootaloo chewed on the pie.

"But you saw Rainbow Dash win it, so it won't be a problem, right?" Apple Bloom said.

"Just take my advice, okay?" Rainbow Dash flew over. "Zecora's gonna outspeed you, no problem. So you gotta use her speed against her. All those ramps in her Gym are pretty good. Or uh...maybe your Ponyta's speed might work. Either way."

"And we'll support you all through!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, holding up Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Spike and Ash flags. "Especially the World Championships! I can't wait to see Ash as the strongest trainer!"

"Your kids are your competitions." Delia giggled. "Ah, reminds me of when I was a trainer back then. A shame. I could've shot for the Pokemon League myself back then."

"What were you like as a Pokemon Trainer, Mrs Ketchum?" Fluttershy asked.

"Oh, I was something!" Delia stood up, getting enthusiastic all of a sudden. "At such a young age, a lot of people saw promise in me as a Trainer. But that might've been my attitude back then. Definitely different from now. I was known as the Raging Leaf at that time."

"Raging Leaf?!" Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash and Spike sat up.

"Mhm. I would've travelled to other regions for the chance to win every league but...I met the love of my life, got married and you know the rest by now." Delia nodded. "But don't get me wrong. I still have those instincts in me."

"You sounded like you were something back then," Twilight said. "Are you as good as you were back then?"

"Am I?" Delia pondered. "Hmm...Hard to say, honestly. I rarely battle except for certain moments. But they're so few and far between. I have the memories but the spirit is kind of lacking."

"Well, I'm super curious!" Rainbow Dash flew over. "Say, Mrs Ketchum. Would it be okay if we had a Pokemon Battle?"

"A Pokemon Battle now?" Delia responded, thinking about it for a moment. She certainly hasn't had a battle in a while. The last battle she had was at Alola, a few years ago. Having a Pokemon Battle for fun never hurt anyone. "I can head to Equestria at any time so...Sure! I'm always up for battle, is what my son says. Mimey. Will it be okay if I let you sit out for this battle?"

"Mime-Mime!" Mr Mime was okay with the decision.

No one from Ponyville or Equestria has really seen Ash's mom battle before. So this will be a first.

Delia chose one of Ash's Pokemon for assistance. She went with Charizard and of course

Ash, who was currently training everyone, took a moment to watch his own mother's battle. He rarely gets to see his mom battle so this will be a treat for certain.

Rainbow Dash stood on the left side while Delia stood on the right side. And their battle would take place just near the outskirts of Pallet Town. AKA, right next to Professor Oak's lab.

"I hope you're ready Mrs Ketchum!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "I won't hesitate at all!"

"I hope you don't, Rainbow Dash." Delia closed her eyes, giving a nod. "Because if you do..." Just then, she opened her eyes as a foreboding sense of dread filled the air. A lethal aura rushed towards Rainbow Dash, making her shudder as she froze in place. She had never felt such horror from just a simple stare from Delia's calm and happy stare. "I'll obliterate you and your Pokemon before your heart gives off another beat...Okay?"

"Y-Yes ma'am..." Rainbow Dash gulped. That one stare made it clear that Rainbow Dash might end up having a rough time. She was even having second thoughts about this. Twilight and the others felt that pressure as they held each other, quivering in fear. "Alright! Braviary, go!"

Rainbow Dash chose Braviary. If she was going to give everything she had, it's best to go with her strongest Pokemon, right? By throwing the Poke Ball with her wing, out came the Valiant Pokemon, Braviary.

"Braviary!"

"Charizard. I'm counting on you to win this, okay?"

"Charizard!" The Flame Pokemon responded with a bellowing roar that rustled Braviary's feathers and blew Rainbow Dash's mane along with everyone else's.

"Be careful, Rainbow Dash! All of Ash's Pokemon are well trained and strong!" Twilight cried out. "Even when someone else is with them!"

"I know, I know! That's why I'm going first. Get a load of this! Braviary, let's start with Aerial Ace!"

"Viary!" Attacking first was Braviary. A white aura outlined his body as he spread his wings out. Braviary soared down at his fellow Flying-Type, moving so fast he became a blur.

"Charizard, use Dragon Tail!"

"Char!" Charizard let out another roar as his tail was coated in a green draconic light. The Fire-Flying-Type then soared into the air, evading Braviary's Aerial Ace being appearing above.

"Bravi?" Braviary let out a slight gasp before quickly looking up. Charizard could certainly keep up with his speed, even with Aerial Ace. After evading it, the Flame Pokemon swung his tail, smashing Braviary's back. "Braviary!"

"Ah! Braviary!" Rainbow Dash's gasp was stronger as her partner hurled through the air, tumbling on the ground a bit before recovering.

"Slash, Charizard!"

"Charizard!" Charizard let out a small grunt before covering his claws in light. The Flame Pokemon then soared towards his fellow Flying-Type, ready for consecutive slashes. Or one might work as well.

"We'll hit you with something, harder! Superpower!"

"Viary!" Braviary cawed as he had a mightier move in-store. By coating his wings and talons in a furious and blazing orange energy, Superpower was ready for use.

"Breathe Flamethrower on your claws!"

"Say what now?!" Rainbow Dash and Braviary froze after hearing that. Charizard slowed down for a bit to allow himself to focus on his claws. To everyone's shock, Charizard had breathed fire on his own claws. Not to harm himself, but to increase his strength and match Braviary's Superpower. By breathing on his claws, he merged Flamethrower with Slash, creating flaming claws.

Now everyone can see where Ash's ridiculous strategies come from. They'd think he got it from his father, but there's a chance Delia might be the cause of it all.

"What is with this family?!" Twilight screeched after witnessing this.

"Now, strike with your Blazing Claws!" She even gave this combination of moves a name. She tends to nickname some of Ash's Pokemon, so it was in her nature.

"Charizard!"

"Bravi! Braviary and Charizard eventually met face-to-face. With them roaring at each other, although, Braviary's was more of a caw, their wings and claws had met.

Instantly, a powerful collision occurred with sparks flying everywhere. Charizard's Blazing Claws were enough to match Braviary's Superpower. The added might of Slash and Flamethrower was perfect for this as Bravairy could already feel the heat.

The two of them stared at each other in the eyes before separating. They then began swinging their wings, talons and claws at each other continuously. Streaks of flames came out of Charizard's arms as he swung, smashing them onto Braviary's talons.

"Bravi!" Braviary used his talon to hold Charizard's incoming claw while using his wing to strike the Flame Pokemon's head. An effective method as he quickly pulled his wing and talon away from Charizard's other incoming claw.

"Zard!" Charizard then ducked underneath an incoming swing from Braviary's wing, slashing his Blazing Claw upwards and sending the Valiant Pokemon into the air.

"Vi!" Braviary cried out as Charizard followed after him, ready to follow up with Blazing Claw. Braviary quickly put his wings up to try and block the incoming attack with Superpower's strength.

"Charizard!" The Flame Pokemon slashed his Blazing Claw onto Braviary's wings, causing a mild shockwave in the air. Braviary staggered a bit as Charizard went for another swing, hitting Braviary's wings while the Valiant Pokemon continued to block.

"Blow Charizard away!"

"Viary!" Braviary cawed as he then exuded energy from Superpower, sending out a pulsating shockwave that blew the Flame Pokemon back.

"Char!"

"Yes! Now use Brave Bird!"

"Braviary!" Braviary then spread his wings out, coating his body in a new aura. A lighter orange this time. With that light orange aura, the Normal-Flying-Type ascended into the air for a higher height and better momentum. More momentum means a heavier attack. The Valiant Pokemon then boosted through the air, leaving an orange trail behind while diving towards the Flame Pokemon.

"Charizard, grab him!"

"Charizard!" Charizard wasn't worried about this. He held his claws out as he was ready to take on Braviary even when he was approaching at top speed. Braviary made a powerful wind pressure from his movements while also burning parts of the air and atmosphere.

"Bravi!" Braviary then crashed into Charizard, only for the Fire-Flying-Type to not only take a direct hit to the stomach but also grabbing Braviary's wings by breaking through his orange aura.

"C-Chari!" Charizard growled as he felt the impact on his stomach, staggering him a bit. But, he could withstand it. However, Braviary received recoil damage from that much power, staggering him as well. SInce Braviary caused such an impact, his stagger lasted longer.

Just what Delia wanted.

"Now tickle him with Dragon Tail!"

"Charizard!" In a surprise choice of words, once Charizard had Braviary within his clutches, he wouldn't let go. But that wasn't the important part. The Flame Pokemon put his tail out, moving it to the side as the green draconic energy laminated it.

But instead of using it to smack Braviary, Charizard started using the tail to tickle the Valiant Pokemon instead. Right on the beak as well by using the tip of the tail. "Chari. Charizard."

"B-B-B-Bravi! Braviary!" Braviary immediately started laughing as to be expected. He certainly didn't expect an attack like Dragon Tail to be used in a way such as this. Charizard not only had Braviary in his clutches, but he also had his fellow Flying-Type distracted. "Braviary!"

"Seriously! Braviary, break free with Steel Wing, quick!" Rainbow Dash cried out. But Charizard was really gripping those wings with his claws deep inside.

"Well...that's certainly one way to use an attack..." Rarity gawked.

"Yeah...Wonder if I can do that with my Salamence? But the build's not the same is it?" Spike spoke.

"It's a good thing Rainbow Dash isn't in Rainbow-Braviary right now or else all that focus would be gone." Fluttershy chuckled as they all admired this hilarious yet effective tactic. Even though there was a Pokemon move known as Tickle, Charizard could improvise without needing that move.

Then again, it is the Ketchum way.

"How do you like our Dragon Tickle? Now, grab him and go crazy!" Delia cheered, raising her arms while also moving them in a spinning motion. Charizard could tell what Delia was going for.

After tickling him, Charizard then used Dragon Tail to wrap around Braviary's neck. Due to that distraction via the tickling, Braviary couldn't get out of the way.

"B-Bra?!"

"Braviary! Try flying around and throw Charizard off! Then use Aerial Ace!"

"I don't think so! Go, Charizard!"

"Charizard!" Charizard flew through the air while pulling Braviary along. The Flame Pokemon then started spinning around, denying Braviary, the chance to break free. The objective was to make Braviary feel dizzy. And Charizard definitely succeeded in that.

V-V-Viary!" Braviary was already feeling sick from this spinning as he was struggling to find the right moment to break free of this grasp. And as Charizard spun around a bit, that's when he went in for the heavy blow.

"Char!" The Flame Pokemon then zoomed towards the ground, flipping his body as he slammed the Valiant Pokemon down. He also chose to let go of him at this moment. One hit and Braviary hit the ground hard as the grip of Dragon Tail had ended.

"B-Braviary!"

"Now, Wing Attack!"

"Charizard!" After slamming Braviary down, Charizard was going for the finishing blow by lighting his wings up.

"Steel Wing, quick!"

"Viary!" Braviary tumbled on the ground before recovering himself. He wasn't about to let himself fall here. He quickly hardened his wings with pure metal. He and Charizard then clashed their wings against each other.

Braviary's wings were just a tad bit stronger than Charizard's as he overpowered Wing Atack. With him succeeding in the clash, he sent Charizard back with superior force.

"Fire!" Delia cried out as she quickly responded to Braviarys' pushback. And so did Charizard. After he was pushed back, he actually flapped his wings while still using Wing Attack. He sent a barrage of airwaves by flapping his wings ferociously.

"Vi?!" Braviary gasped as he was instantly pelted with rapid waves of wind that forced him back on the ground. And they bombarded him to boot with Charizard sending more before bringing it to an end. A large smoke cloud coated the Valiant Pokemon due to all of that damage and his fall.

"Oh, no! Braviary!" Rainbow Dash cried out, leaning forward to see the state of her partner. And after a barrage like that and the previous attacks like Dragon Tail, Slash and Flamethrower, Braviary couldn't handle it.

He had fainted.

"Braviary..."

"That's that~" Delia whistled while Charizard descended. "A shame that I didn't get to see Rainbow-Braviary. But oh well. Good job, Charizard!"

"Charizard."

"Yikes..." Rainbow Dash stood there stunned. She was Ash's mother for a reason. Battling was in the family. She could only imagine and dread what Ash's father was like when it comes to battling. Perhaps Ash and Delia's battling styles are inspired by his. Aside from that, Rainbow Dash flew over to her partner afterwards. "Good job, Braviary. Looks like we still have ways to go, don't we?"

"Bravi." They certainly did. They got to experience why Delia was once known as the Raging Leaf back in the day and to have further reasons to better themselves. So did Spike and Scootaloo.

If Delia, someone who doesn't battle frequently can do so well and win against a constant battler such as Rainbow Dash, then they had a lot to work on. The old trainers who are retired might as well give them a run for their money. Then again, humans have been around Pokemon more, so it was to be expected.

"You're something, Mrs Ketchum." Rainbow Dash complimented her.

"Oh, it's nothing too special. It's just a natural Ketchum attribute, that's all." Delia chuckled, shrugging off her impressive battling skills as everyone was now intimidated by Delia.

She already had an intimidating aura around her but after witnessing that battle, they had a bigger reason to fear her. But overall, she also has a pleasant aura, making it nice to be around her either way.

Equestria. Canterlot. Afternoon.

Afterwards, Delia went on her merry way, wanting to spend some small time in Equestria. Delia preferred simple and calming things in life rather than Pokemon Battling. Her younger self would disagree on that without a doubt.

But before she left, she made some food for everyone to enjoy while she was away. After they finish training, it was all theirs.

When arriving at Canterlot, some ponies couldn't take their eyes off of Delia. She was Ash's mother so she did have some reputation and popularity present.

Some ponies also admired her for her beauty. They felt as if they could have a chance with her but since she was already married, that chance wouldn't happen. Plus, no one knows who Ash's father is but since he and Ash are apparently alike in practically every way, it's best not to meddle. Some may try anyway.

"Hey, Mrs Ketchum." Some ponies greeted her as she walked by. Some ponies slid over, holding many flowers to Delia to try and swoon her. Delia appreciated the flowers either way.

She gave her own greeting back while heading for the stand that sold those jewels she set her eyes on.

Speaking of jewels, Jewel was also present here in Canterlot, speaking to Twilight Velvet too. Princess Celestia and Premium Polish could be seen in that same space themselves.

"Hi, Mrs, Ketchum!" Premium waved over.

"Hellooo!" Delia whistled to the little unicorn, kneeling to face her. "How have you been lately?"

"Great!" Premium exclaimed as Delia picked her up. It's always stunning how different the humans and ponies are in size. Adults seem like giants to the ponies. "And your contests?"

"I could be winning them but...they're really hard." Premium pouted.

"Hang in there. Part of having a satisfying and fulfilling victory is going through the hardships of that path. That's what my husband says anyway." Delia chuckled. "Are you all here to buy some of these jewels too?"

"I want to give some to my Pokemon so that the moves look better when I'm at the contest." Premium explained her reason as Celestia already brought her some jewels.

"I'm just here because they look nice." Velvet spoke.

"Well, I came here since I don't know what to get my baby." Jewel gave her own reason. "I figured something pretty would be nice in all honesty."

"Jewels for babies? That's different." Delia responded with her finger on her lip.

Yeah. I-I'm not that experienced with babies. I mean...I'm gonna be a mother for the first time and I can't wait!" Jewel giggled in excitement. "But it'll be something new to me. I asked Velvet for some advice." Velvet nodded in confirmation. She already had her own motherly advice to give out. "What about you, Delia? What can you give me?"

"Well, Velvet's probably given you the most advice you can give. I know that for sure." Delia already knew that Velvet was a great mother so if she advised Jewel, then there wasn't much Delia could do. Except for one thing. "But...I can maybe give you this."

"That is...?"

"You'll have your babies crying all the time. It's inevitable isn't it?"

"Yeah...It is." Velvet sighed, knowing the frustration of heaving to deal with Twilight's crying when she was just a baby. She could still hear the cries, echoing at night whenever she falls asleep along with Night Light.

"I found a way through that. A nice song is always the way to go. One that soothes them. Ash and Pikachu know a thing or two about that."

"A song?" Jewel twirled her hair. "Really?"

"Not all songs. But a special kind. Like so." Delia went over to Celestia's Arcanine to give an example. Arcanine himself wasn't too bothered. He's always calm anyway.

"Arca?"

"This is a song Ash and I always use on Pikachu. But it works well on other Pokemon." She then kneeled to face Arcanine. Delia Ketchum then put her hand on the back of the Legendary Pokemon.

The song she referred to was something known as Goodnight My Pikachu. But for this, she would stylize it for Arcanine.

The Poké Ball is your bed
Curl up and close your eyes
In the morning your wounds will heal
If, if you come into my dreams

To play with me...
It's just something I thought about
Good night, good night, good night
A bright star is shining

I have sleepless nights too
Come here into my arms
We'll talk, just the two of us
If, if we don't have a meeting

I want to listen to you, but...

Good night, good night, good night
The star has drifted away now

Good night, good night, good night
Soon, I'll sleep too

"Canine..." Arcanine felt like falling asleep to that song. He was already calm but now he was at peace with all of his nerves being stable. The Legendary Pokemon let out a pant and a satisfying yawn as he laid on his back.

"There. Though, you should only use something like this at night.

"Oh, I get it now!" Jewel exclaimed. "What an amazing song!"

"Yeah...it sure is." Premium Polish grumbled as the song had affected her. She was already on the verge of falling asleep. Passion and Kirlia were most definitely ready to fall asleep after hearing that. The song seems to be effective on only children and Pokemon.

"Gardevoir..." Passion yawed as she sat on the ground.

"Kirlia..." Kirlia dozed off as she rested her head on Passion's leg. They were both put in this trance. However, Celestia and Velvet quickly woke them up with her magic. "Kir?!"

"Garde?!"

"Oops. My bad!" Delia giggled, giving an innocent smile.

After giving some extra motherly advice to Jewel, Delia and the rest of the mothers, plus mother figure, AKA Celestia, bought their jewels. Delia took some time to stay in Canterlot for a bit and chat with them. Premium played around with Arcanine, Kirlia and Passion in the meanwhile as they watched the golden sun turn orange and slowly descend.

Kanto Region. Pallet Town. Night.

Delia returned. And already, Pallet Town was silent. Ash's training with his friends had ended. Some small rubble of pebbles could be seen as a result of this training. Thankfully, nothing has been destroyed.

When entering the house, Delia could see that all of the food had been devoured. In fact, since she arrived back at Pallet Town, she had to go through Ponyville too. And Ponyville certainly had some satisfied ponies, indicating at a good meal.

And as for Ash and Pikachu, they were asleep. Out from all that training and eating like always. Delia was ready to leave them to their own peaceful night, but not before putting a blanket over the duo. Ash and Pikachu snored, feeling the blanket over them. Yet they did not wake up.

After that, Delia left the room, calling it a day.

As the journey continues.
