A Feast fit for Dragons. The Final Week Approaches

Sinnoh. Daybreak Town. The Pokemon Festival. Afternoon.

"Here you go! All for the winner!" Greeting Lance, Iris and Spike was a buffet. A massive buffet of food was given to them after Lance succeeded in the first round of this three-way battle against Drake and Drayden. For winning the first round, the first buffet was his. The cooks introduced the buffet to them in all of its glory. Over 100 mouthwatering dishes were on the menu and presented to them.

Crispy Slowpoke Tail with toast on the side. Kebab skewers. Spring rolls, Pancakes. spring onion, grilled sausage. Crispy shredded beef with carrots and scallions. Minced seafood. Fried rice. Boiled Crispy Slowpoke Tail. Pasta. Fried craw-cake. Spicy black fungus. Deep-fried crispy enigma berries. Fruity salads. Mixed barbecue platter with chilli sauce. Egg fried rice. Fried green tomato berries. Barbecue sandwich. Seafood gumbo and noodles.

And that wasn't even the entire menu. All of this made Iris and Spike drool with pure hunger in their eyes. "Oh...I can see why someone would battle over this..." Spike said with his eyes wide open.

"I told you. And it doesn't matter who wins the next rounds. Because I win too~" Iris whistled with glee. Drake and Drayden could be seen, defeated with their heads down. But they swore they would win the next buffets."

"This is my treat to you two. And your Pokemon, of course." Lance sat down, removing his cape to get comfortable. "Time to dig in. No one would want to miss out on this."

"Yes sir!" The two of them would gladly dig in. But not before sending their Pokemon out. Each of Lance's Iris' and Spike's Pokemon were sent out of their Poke Balls to enjoy this buffet. Upon emerging, Haxorus and the others, minus Deino, had their eyes widen at this delicious sight.

So many options, all catered to various groups. This was a pleasant sight for sure. Lance was proud of himself and Dragonite for winning this buffet. Now that they were all present, they would not hold back.

Lance went first, grabbing a bowl of noodles and rapidly eating it as if there was no tomorrow. Aggressive slurping was already emerging. Iris went for the skew kebabs, eating each part one by one but at great speeds, swapping from the left and right kebab.

Spike would gobble up as many Slowpoke Tails as he could. He wiggled the tail in his mouth before gulping it down. He even felt the satisfying crunch of the crispy tails that made his stomach melt.

Both Iris and Lance's Dragonite ate through the larger tails while Deino would absolutely tear the barbecues apart with his mighty mouth yet non-existent teeth. Claws would go all across the table with different Dragons snatching as many food options as possible. It was madness.

Salamence scarfed down an entire gumbo with his mouth thanks to Goodra holding the bowl over him. Goodra would multitask, using his horns to grab some berries. The chilli and other sauces meant nothing to the Dragons as they resisted the heat naturally after all, making them perfect to consume any spicy food without issue.

An entire bowl of rice was gone in the blink of an eye thanks to Druddigon. He didn't just eat the rice in one go, he ate the entire bowl, chewing on the rough material. It didn't matter at all. Druddigon was used to rough materials as he lived in a cave and had the Ability Rough Skin. Eating a bowl was nothing to him. And he'd certainly do it again with the next bowl.

Flygon was arguably the least violent eater next to Iris' Pokemon. Some of them weren't Dragons. Emolga and Excadrill specifically. They ate at slower paces compared to the Dragons with Flygon taking his time. But everyone else? It was as if they eating for survival.

This was a chaotic mess. The table was already full of sauce, soups, bits and more that made it unpolished. But who would even care? When someone is eating well, the mess is the least of anyone's worries.

They didn't even care if certain foods were stolen. It all tasted good to them. Seeing this made every other Dragon-Type here hungry. If Lance and Iris weren't there, they would've tried to fight for the buffet but that would only end in vain and a trip to the Pokemon Center before the third move could even be called out by their trainers.

Even then, when looking at Lance, just his glare alone told them to back off. No one else would be invited to join his feast. He only went for Iris and Spike.

Just like that, the buffet was gone. All of them consumed every final piece of it. Dragon-Type Trainers and Dragon-Type Pokemon weren't just fierce in battle. They kept this rapid ferociousness during a meal. Iris especially picked up this habit by staying around Ash for a long time when she travelled with him.

"Hah...I stuck around Ash for a bit too long for this to happen." Iris sighed, laying on her back. "But it was worth it..."

"Yeah...But I think I always had a big appetite." Feeling proud of his consumption, Spike patted his belly before taking a moment to lie there.

"Hm. That was an excellent meal." As if he didn't just eat like a king and a wild beast at the same time, Lance casually got back up, wiping his mouth with a tissue like a gentleman before placing his cape back on. "A meal that you two didn't get to experience."

"Hmph. We still have the other two." Drake replied. "The next battle will decide who gets the second buffet with more options on the table."

"Before that...Spike." Lance would focus on Spike next. "You said you were heading to Kyurem after this, correct?"

"That's right. I went on a solo journey once just to grow as a Dragon Trainer. That's when I met Kyurem and battled him for the first time. So, since I'm going solo again...might as well have a second go. I've improved too. I can't wait to see what Kyurem thinks of me now."

"I'm sensing some deja-vu here," Iris said. "You're challenging Kyurem for a second time? I know how that went for one Pokemon. The second time went better but there wasn't a winner in that battle."

"You mean Keldeo? I'll be fine. My team's grown now and I've picked up some new tricks. I'll last a bit longer against Kyurem this time." Spike proudly said.

"We'll see." But Iris wasn't sure. She had to see this for herself.

"Indeed...Because we're going to Kyurem." Lance declared, shocking Spike. "

"You're gonna go to Kyurem too?!" Spike gasped.

"That's right," Drayden said. "All three of us. When can someone have a chance to meet with Kyurem? Since you know where to find Kyurem, we'll be coming with you."

"I already knew where Kyurem lived. But it's been a while since I've been there. So you'll be our guide." Iris responded.

"I guess so." Spike agreed to it. Nothing wrong with having them come along. "But what about your battle? Aren't you gonna have that next before we meet Kyurem?"

"A new bet has come up." Drake looked at Drayden and Lance as they knew what to achieve for this next buffet. "Who here will challenge Kyurem and get the next buffet?"

"Challenge Kyurem?!" Spike exclaimed. The three Dragon Specialists were eager to meet with Kyurem who was known as the World's Strongest Dragon. "Right...that makes sense." It clicked with Spike instantly.

"The moment we get to Kyurem, I will be issuing the challenge and come out on top." Lance pointed himself, going for two buffets.

"I think not." Drayden shook his head in denial. "You won't get two in a row, Lance."

"If only I could get there with my ship without two following me..." Drake grumbled, wishing that he could get to Kyurem faster with his ship. But that would mean Spike would be a massive target for all three of them to follow. "Getting from Sinnoh to Unova just to reach one Pokemon would take a day, most likely.

"They sure are competitive, aren't they? Very competitive to where they'll do that..." Spike had to admire how competitive all three of them were. They were willing to challenge the World's Strongest Dragon to earn the second buffet.

"Chefs. We're going for Kyurem this time as a way to win the next buffet. Keep those options up." Drayden ordered. "We'll be gone for a bit."

"Sure thing, Mayor Draden. We-"Just then, the chefs froze after hearing the name of a critically important and powerful Pokemon. "K-Kyurem?!"

"We'll be taking that ship of yours, Drake," said Lance. "Hope you don't mind but you won't get ahead of us."

"Hold on!" Iris yelled. "Since we're heading for Kyurem, I need to get myself ready! I don't want the cold getting to me again!"

"I'll be fine." Spike shrugged even though he was actually cold-blooded. It was off to Drake's Ship which would be around the nearby port. It was off to Kyurem's Ice Castle, located in one of the coldest regions of Unova. Spike's chance to have a rematch with Kyurem may be overshadowed by these three greater forces.

When on the ship, Spike could finally sit down and relax. After travelling great distances and having the best buffet he's ever experienced, he needed this. And on the ship, Spike could finally catch up with the news. He missed out on a lot since he didn't stay with a group. These past days of the Pokemon Festival have been absolutely wild.

"Oh!" His eyes shot open, eyeing down the words and images in front of him. The first thing he spotted was the appearance of Rayquaza at the Battle Carnival in Hoenn. This was thanks to Hoopa's Ring. Speaking of Hoopa, Victini, Meloetta and the Mischief Pokemon just showed up out in the open for these news stories. Spike even saw Hoopa's Unbound Form.

But the news would only escalate from there. The Dread League came up. Vampires became commonly known, mainly showing up at night and causing mayhem when possible. Spike was personally there as he had a run-in with Opal's group and one of the demons they unleashed on Alola.

But it went past Alola. They attacked other regions. However, one consistent theme was that Galaxy Master was there. He showed up to prevent the vampires from spreading any more trouble. He truly was a hero at heart. But there was one region mentioned here that Spike had never heard about.

"Paldea? Never heard of it." He said before continuing. This is where he got the most crucial part. The events up at the Galaxy Tower. Taking place in space, the Rift took control of Galaxy Master's body, attacking everyone who ended up on that tower. And the news certainly described the event perfectly. An intense scuffle that could've ended terribly for both parties. It was thanks to the Ranger Union, the Pegalysium Royal Family, Canterlot Guards Queen Chrysalis and her changelings for preventing such a catastrophic outcome from happening.

"All of this happened? And I missed out..." Spike felt a bit gutted that he didn't get to be part of these adventures. No matter how dangerous they were. This was the most invested Spike was about the news as he kept reading. While not as abundant as the Galaxy Tower event or even the Dread League attack, there were two noticeable news stories.

A story about Hearthome City and Holon. Holon was said to have received a devastating crater around one of its larger areas. This was mainly about the scuffle between the Dread League and Reshiram. And of course, Yveltal. There was now a massive crater there without a trace of anything to go off. And then there was Hearthome City. While it looked completely normal, the news reports spoke about how the city was a bit off at the moment.

No one could truly understand why but the people and ponies there seemed to be acting unusual. The air around the city was different from what it used to be. Alas, that was all the information about Hearthome City that was given.

"A lot happened. And we're not even done with the festival yet," said Spike. "Now we're heading to Kyurem. Wish someone would make a news story about that."

"Hey. Gotcha these." Iris walked over with two scoops of ice cream for Spike and Equestrian Axew. "Lance suggested that I get you something cold to eat. Ya know...for your cold blood. Is that okay with you?"

"Ah, it's fine. I ate a bunch of ice cream buckets once." Spike received the ice cream cone and instantly licked it. "The worst I got was a tummy ache. The cold never bothered me anyway."

"How come? You're a dragon, aren't you? First, you resist Kyurem's cold and now I hear you ate an ice cream bucket once? Are you sure you're a Dragon?" Iris narrowed her eyes, curious but Spike's resistance to the cold.

"Totally. But, if we're talking extreme cold, then I'm not making it out of there. The same goes for every dragon back at the Dragon Lands. It doesn't matter how much fire we can breathe. The ice is something else."

"Dragon Lands, huh...I'd love to go there." Iris sighed. "Because then I'd get to see more Equestrian Dragons. And baby dragons as cute as you!" She then held Spike's face, pulling and squishing it, interrupting Spike's ice cream snack.

"Ow..."

"Oh! My bad! You just remind me of my Axew! And your own Axew too. I sorta forget you're a trainer sometimes." Iris apologized, finding it hard to resist herself when it comes to small dragons. "So, how did your first battle with Kyurem go?"

"It could've been better. I lasted longer than I expected but Kyurem totally mopped the floor with me. This time, I'll go even longer and try and prove to Kyurem how strong I've become. What about you, Iris? Have you battled Kyurem before?"

"Surprisingly...no. Never decided to do it after all these years." Iris twirled her massive hair. "At least Drayden and the others are gonna take this chance. Personally, I'd love to see how the World's Strongest Dragon battles one more time. It's not every day you get to see a Legendary Pokemon."

"Yeah, if you're Ash or Twilight." Spike looked at the newspaper, continuing to see what else it had to offer. "Oh! A song's coming up at the end of this festival! Sung by Coloratura and the Dazzlings."

"Who?" Iris questioned, unbeknownst to their existence. Indeed, by the end of this Pokemon Festival, Coloratura and the Dazzlings would sing a song in unison. Previously, they were against each but not anymore. With this truce, they would hype up this final event for every species to view. It would be wonderful to see the Pokemon Festival end with a song, especially from some of the best singers out there.

"Only until the third week." Spike closed the newspaper, accidentally getting ice cream on it which covered Fantina's face. "Well, the second one's about to end anyway. I hope we can reach Kyurem in time before that."

Pegalysium. Pegalysium Capital. Music Hall. Afternoon.

"Splendid!" Back at Pegalysium, applauds were echoing across this music hall. This was because of Octavia, who performed some music for the views. She certainly won their hearts as even up here at Pegalysium, her music sounded good.

Proud of herself, she nodded slowly while petting her partner Furfrou who also had to stand proud by having such a talented trainer. Forget all the battling. Music was where it was at.

"Music is a universal language," Octavia said. "So, it's obvious you'd enjoy this sound. But...I'm not quite done yet."

"Would you like to come back here at another time for some more ensembles?" One of the workers here at the hall asked, already finding great interest in Octavia's music. "We could use some Equestrian Music to expand our list."

"Why of course, I'll show up again." Octavia instantly greed before whispering to herself. "Hopefully without Vinyl for once. Just for this music hall, I'd like to go at it solo without her. But!" She then spoke up. "For it to truly be a universal language, I need to play it for the final day of the Pokemon Festival."

"Final day? What's happening?"

"A song by Coloratura herself. And some group by the name of the Dazzlings. Not sure who they are. I'd love to join in." Octavia saw this as an opportunity to boost her recognition. She was already hoping that the Equestria Movie would credit her music scores and she already received respect here at Pegalysium's Music Hall. Now it was all a matter of getting attention from everyone over at the Pokemon World by backing up the four singers.

"I swear...I'll get involved! Come along, Furfrou!" Octavia would hurry to prepare for the final day before it was too late. She would have to know which song was being played, of course. Her time at Pegalysium was simple but efficient to the point where she would even return via the acknowledgement of the workers.

By this point, the third week was closing in with only 2 days left go until this second week ends. Alas, the road t the final day wasn't all filled with happiness. Hearthome was an example of that. Unbeknownst to so many, Fantina was gone and even more crucially to everyone across the world, Yveltal was currently in the hooves of the Dread League.

Equestria. Magehold. Nightfall.

And at this moment, attempts to control Yveltal were being made. The Destruction Pokemon wouldn't just go along with this plan. Not after listening to what Rosa Maledicta had to say. He was being kept in a large orb that he tried breaking out of. But holding him back were streams of magic.

Various vampires gathered around Yveltal's orb, using their magic to try and hold him back. But Yveltal put up a fight, moving around aggressively while attacking the orb. It was absolute chaos within this hall. Yveltal's roars would boom out of the room with red and black streams flying out. He refused to let himself become a weapon of mass destruction. That would go against his entire reason for existing.

Rosa Maledicta was expecting Yveltal to eventually turn to her side, no matter how hard he resisted. She watched from afar, watching some of her vampires be sent flying from Yveltal's retaliation. It would take dozens of vampires to keep on showing up to keep Yveltal steady.

"Very soon, you'll be ours, Yveltal. But more importantly...Fantina cannot know about this." Rosa Maledicta faced Fractured Note, her loyal servant. "If she sees Yveltal, even with my control over her, the importance of this Pokemon can't be ignored. Make sure she never finds out."

"Yes, your majesty." Fractured Note bowed before leaving the room.

"The Black Crusade can still happen in the right amount of time that I envisioned, thanks to Yveltal's struggling. But eventually, all that magic will get to it." Rosa summoned her throne before rubbing her hooves maliciously. "Very soon, Equestria. My payback is near and so is the Black Crusade."

As the journey continues.
