Short: Breakthrough! One step closer to happiness

Galar. Hulbury. The Pokemon Festival. Afternoon.

Hulbury. A bustling seaport that many visit to see its lively market stalls and famed restaurant. Here, Ash, Fluttershy, Twilight, Cobalion, Celestia and Luna would start their little Galar adventure during this day of the Pokemon Festival. And the restaurant was the first stop as they could feast on the cuisines here. Mainly Ash and Pikachu, who were gluttons as always.

Celestia was stuck sitting by herself as Cobalion chose to stay outside. Even to this day, he chose to be invisible to many humans but not ponies. Mainly because ponies were still fresh and new to him. Ash was one of the few humans he could stick around but it was certainly awkward to see him just standing outside the window.

"You know...I could just cast an invisibility spell on you." Celestia chuckled. "That might be a better option than this, don't you think?"

"That would be nice, actually. I'm lucky to have only the children stare at me." Cobalion had his eyes closed as the only humans that noticed him were the children. When it comes to Legendary or even Mythical Pokemon, children react to these Pokemon differently than how someone older would. That was beneficial to these rare Pokemon as most wouldn't have to worry about their cover being blown if they weren't that known within certain areas. Cobalion had a lucky break here as many of the children just saw him as another standard Pokemon.

"On the bright side, you're not all that bothered by being out in public anymore. At least, when it's within your own world." Celestia said. "But, I hope you're not shy about eating in public."

"I'm not in the mood to eat. But... save some for me, if you will. Probably when the night comes."

"Oh! Great idea! It's more romantic during nightfall, isn't it?" Celestia greatly agreed for this, thinking about the romantic aura that it could bring out. But before the moon could rise, Cobalion would be hit by an invisibility spell, masking him from many eyes.

"Ah...Good stuff." Meanwhile, Ash and Pikachu already blitzed through the meals in front of them, patting their stuffed stomachs. They ate like kings judging by how they were slumped on the seats.

"Pika..."

"Please don't tell me you're itching for seconds...." Twilight lowered her eyes.

"Seconds doesn't sound that bad actually." Ash was already on it, leaning forward. Even if he was satisfied, an extra helping was tempting. What was stopping him from doing it again?

"Please. Not again." Sombra shook his head while within Ash. "The way you eat is...mortifying."

"I'm eating like a king. Just like you said, Sombra. "A pretty free king if you ask me. Make it two since Pikachu's here."

"A king doesn't eat like a maniac!" Sombra exclaimed. "The fact that I'm attached to you makes it worse. You always eat like this."

"Oh come on. He ate like a king in his own way." Twilight, despite being intimidated by Ash's rabid eating habits, defended those habits from Sombra's criticism.

"I wouldn't expect to hear that from a princess of a pathetic title." Immediately, Sombra retaliated with an insult.

"Pathetic title?!" The Princess of Friendship growled, leaning forward while slamming her hooves on the table. "Rude! Friendship isn't something to dismiss! Especially since it beat you, didn't it?" She then had a devious grin on her face, knowing exactly what defeated King Sombra.

"Kh! That was a fluke! Had it not been for this boy's interferences and that Darkrai getting involved, I would have claimed victory!" Sombra tried to deflect it as she and Twilight created fierce tension in the air.

"Funny..." Twilight smirked, narrowing her eyes. "According to Cold Colt, you still would've lost in the original timeline. Isn't that a shame?"

"Now, now." Fluttershy attempted to calm them both down. "We can all eat in whatever way we prefer. I see so many Pokemon eat differently after all. Even if is royalty."

"You said it, Fluttershy." Ash nodded in approval. "If you want, Sombra. You can have a bite too for when seconds come along. Team Rocket should be in there helping out with the cooking, right?"

"Mhm. They're not just great builders but great cooks too. Whenever I'm struggling to get some of the Pokemon something to eat, Team Rocket swoop in to sort it out. Maybe they're better at other things rather than stealing Pokemon."

"Come to think of it, you've been pretty fine with Team Rocket hanging around the Pokemon House, Ash. The same goes for you, Fluttershy." Twilight pondered. "What gives? What's up with that?"

"I guess...a lot has changed over the years, ya know." Ash leaned back. "Back then, Team Rocket would always try something new to steal Pikachu and other Pokemon that interest them. And we'd always stop them and so on and so forth. It kept going and the ideas kept piling up. Plus, it's always a good training exercise for Pikachu and all my Pokemon. But ever since our worlds crossed over and when that invasion happened, it's given me some time to think. Team Rocket aren't all that bad."

"They aren't?" Twilight repeated.

"Well, it's just those guys that I know aren't bad. They've helped out before in the past, ya know. When we were dealing with the Volcanion and Magearna problem, the Legendary Birds, Team Plasma and a few other things. They even saved me twice. Plus, they've got Pokemon of their own that love them a lot. And when you bring that all together...no matter when they try and steal Pikachu next or whatever they do, they'll be alright in my book."

"Pikachu." Pikachu greatly agreed with that. And also the fact that defeating them multiple times was good training exercise through and through.

"The same goes for Sombra here. I didn't get the gist of everything he did but he's got something good going on." Ash chuckled.

"It's best you don't know actually...." Twilight nervously laughed, glad that Ash knew very little of King Sombra. But he certainly knew the good parts and sad parts of Sombra. Right then and there, Twilight received a call from none other than Spike, who she hadn't spoken to for a while. Spike was exempt from everything insane that happened with Twilight and her friends but he had his fair share of excitement. As for why he was calling, it wasn't to check up on Twilight. This was something different from what Twilight would be used to by now.

While Twilight would answer Spike's call, Celestia, while enjoying her food, was greeted by one of the birds from the Ethereal Pavilion. The Note Birds. But this one had a golden colouring to it compared to the rest. Flying from all the way from Pegalysium, this magical paper bird had something to give out. It wasn't just a note.

"Oh? What's this?" Celestia cleaned her mouth before seeing the Note Bird open up. It didn't just bring a note but it also brought along a picture. A picture of the Pegalysium Royal Family. The picture showed Shooting Star having a breakthrough with his magic just recently after they left Pegalysium no less. "Ah! Shooting Star had a breakthrough!" Celestia gasped.

"Gardevoir?" Passion leaned in as Shooting Star was seen being carried by his own magic. Not by his own will judging by the shocked expression on his face and the amusement of Luminary in the background.

"Dear Princess Celestia. Great news. After listening and witnessing everything you and your friends had done, Shooting Star was inspired. More so than he had ever been. Just hours ago, right as the Sun rose, he had a breakthrough in magic that came from what we can assume was either willpower or imagination. It's unknown yet. But what is known is that he summoned a white wisp that was sentient, similar to the Solace Tiara that Windkiss created. This is the first time he has ever made something with his magic much like the previous Destiny Pegasi. It's the start of something wonderful and this wisp is a bit mischievous, messing around with him. But it means well."

"Ah! Shooting Star found his breakthrough magic!" Celestia gasped. "How wonderful!" She then kept reading, seeing what other contents there were. The note bird would turn itself around, revealing more words on the back.

"It's in its infancy, but it shows great promise, especially because it seems to respond to Shooting Star's emotions as seen by the image that you're presented with. Though...we shudder to imagine what an angry variant would appear like. We hope that you will support him since he looks up to you and every one of your friends for what they stand through and represent. Love, the Royal Family. Mainly Luminary since I'm the one writing the crux of this. P.S. We named the Wisp Light. Is that too generic? Thoughts, please."

"That's wonderful to hear." Celestia nodded her head in approval before having her eyes open. This could only mean one thing. "Wait! This means...he could complete the staircase! The Golden Stairway could be finished!"

"Garde?"

"That giant golden stairway?" Cobalion said while appearing invisible. Right now, he was secretly standing next to Princess Celestia.

"That's the one. We couldn't add every single required source of power into it because Shooting Star couldn't access his Destiny Magic anymore. But this looks like it could change it all. With his magic, we can continue building the stairway. And it'll be one step closer to Jirachi. Literally."

"Closer to Jirachi?!" Ash overheard the conversation along with Twilight and the others. "Great going, Shooting Star!"

"Well, looks like we have something else that's also important, Spike. But I get what you're saying. You need Ash and me to be there. It's where Delphox usually appears." Twilight spoke to Spike.

"That's right. Kyurem said that this special spell only works at night so it needs to be when the moon's up. Ash and Princess Celestia could sort out that one gateway. It's for Snowdrop after all."

"Got it. I think we'll sort out the Snowdrop one first. The moon's almost showing up anyway. How's that sound?" Ash recommended.

"Snowdrop?" That name sounded familiar to Princess Celestia. Snowdrop. Where had she learned that name before? It reminded her of a few things. One of them was Luna.

"Great. See you there." Spike hung up, expecting them to arrive at Frenzy Forest to meet with Delphox. This would be before they can request Shooting Star's assistance. But that would be handled by Princess Celestia, who knew she had to share both news with Luna. Both would be equally important to the Princess of the Night and only Celestia knew why. But there was something that was bothering Celestia.

"But it's been thousands of years. How can this be?"

Equestria. Ponyvile. Late Afternoon.

"Phione..." Speaking of the Golden Stairway to the Cosmos, Phione, the one who was an envoy of Arceus and shared the knowledge of building this stairway wasn't exempt from knowing about this. After all, she was blessed by the Light of Arceus, thus, any connection to the stairway was immediately shared with her.

This was shown by the flash of light within her eyes as she entered a sort of static state. She appeared frozen before then receiving images in her mind. Images of Shooting Star to be exact.

She saw how Shooting Star had his eyes full of wonder. That moment was when the wisp first appeared, appearing as tiny as wisps usually do. That wisp came from his own magic and judging by his reaction, it wasn't something he was used to doing. At all. Most of the sentient forces in Pegalysium were the result of Windkiss and now, the most recent one had pulled off the same trick. Perhaps not in the same way. Not only could Phione witness the events but he could also hear them as well.

"Hey, little guy!" Shooting Star held the wisp in his hooves out of amazement. The wisp would react to the first emotion Shooting Star would feel, happily dancing around the young prince. This moment resembled when Windkiss first created the Solace Tiara. But the means of this creation had yet to be known. Willpower or Imagination? Either way, this was crucial as Phione knew what needed to be done.

"Hm? Oh, Phione!" Sweetie Belle would soon notice Phione walking off without saying a word. "Where are you going?!"

The 7th Element was ready to be added to the stairway. The Water-Type would then turn to Sweetie Belle, uttering words that she, unfortunately, couldn't understand unless she had a translator. But even without a translator, the glow within Phione's eyes were enough to let her know.

"Oh. This is about the stairway, isn't it?"

"Phi." Phione nodded. Sweetie Belle caught on just like that. Arceus' light was too recognizable by this point thanks to the previous encounters. Phione then saw another vision. One of the future. The 7 Elements coming together as the previously used one needed to be added once more.

The Azure Radiance of Aura. The Shining Light of Celestia. The Emotional Flow of Luna, Lunar Ire and Nightmare Moon. The Warm and Embracing Magic of Love. The Mystic and Secretive Shamanistic Magic. The Cosmic Power of Rift Magic. And now The Tenacious Magic of Destiny.

As the journey continues.
