A king's speech

Pegalysium. Afternoon.

Finally. Their second trip to Pegalysium. After going through an attack from Sky Serpents, of all things, they had arrived at a forest with a nearby settlement. And they had a large crowd with them. Many of the Pokemon from the Pokemon House had come along just for Shooting Star to see more Pokemon. In the flesh.

Jade was also here to see if she was truly from Pegalysium. Unfortunately for her, there's a good chance she'll be hit with disappointment only. Team Rocket would stay behind to guard the ship, but they might end up going treasure hunting again.

"Bringing all these Pokemon here is a bit much, don't you think, Fluttershy?" Twilight asked as the group were on their way to the settlement.

"It'll be fine. Trust me, Twilight. This way everyone. It should be through here." Fluttershy spoke to the Pokemon as they were behind the Trainers and their own Pokemon.

They had moved through the forest which was the most average forest yet. Nothing too spectacular about it. It wasn't riddled with temples like the jungle or anything. It was just a forest.

But that allowed them to come across their very first settlement in Pegalysium. A nice and humble town. Known as Feathercoast.

"Oooh." Ash and everyone gawked at the sight of this settlement. From the first glance, it was certainly something. The architecture of the buildings seem to be colourful and extravagant, and many of them have wavy patterns and checkered rooftops. The buildings were fairly modest as most of the architecture was surrounded by mostly woods with acres of trees. There was also a sizable port with various boats and ships.

For a town, it had almost everything there. Small-time restaurants and shops to satisfy almost any need. There existed a large clock tower at the very centre which also seemed to be a Town Hall. There was also a large bridge that was essentially the pathway and entrance to Feathercoast. Underneath this bridge was a lake of clouds as well. To everyone, this reminded them a bit of Ponyville from the aura it was giving off.

"Oh, this isn't so bad!" Rainbow Dash observed, flying above everyone.

"Ooh! Your home looks amazing Jade! I mean, it could be your home, but still!" Pinkie Pie shook Jade.

"I don't remember any of this. But it does look nice." Jade responded without changing her expression. But she truly did find this place impressive.

"Are we sure this is the capital of Pegalysium?" Rarity asked.

"Nope. Says here it's called Feathercoast." Applejack went up to the sign that gave the name and description of the town. They weren't close to their location at all.

And after gazing at it for a while, the first pegasus had come up towards them. Right from behind instead of the town itself. Seems as if this pegasus was coming back from someplace.

If anything, she was the first pegasus to spot them all. None of the citizens here had seen the group yet. Well, not until the mayor approached the group. Audino heard these hoofsteps which prompted everyone else to turn around, coming across a Pegalysium citizen.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" The mare spoke, showing herself to the humans, ponies, Pokemon and dragon. "And who are you all? Every last one of you that is."

"Oh. Um." Twilight almost stumbled on her words. She then waved her hoof to pegasus along with everyone else. They all introduced themselves in massive numbers. Way beyond a normal greeting they're used to. "Hello. My name's Twilight Sparkle. And these are all my friends. A lot of them...really."

"Hm...Wings and a horn." The mare started observing the appearance of just Twilight and Twilight alone. "Oh. Are you that alicorn Garnet mentioned about?"

"Oh. Y-You know about alicorns?" Twilight leaned forward. "And Garnet?!"

"Why, I sure do. Right here in Feathercoast. And you must be visitors. What kind of creatures are you all meant to be? Hairless monkeys?" She referred to Ash, Goh and Chloe. "Rats? Wolves? Blobs? My, this is odd. And some of you don't have any wings on you."

"Hairless monkeys...?" Goh and Chloe said silently, realizing that she meant them and Ash.

"Oh, right! These are Pokemon." Ash introduced the Pokemon to the mare. "My name's Ash. And this here's my partner Pikachu."

"Pikachu!"

"Poke...mon? Pokemon..." The mare then bit her hoof, feeling as if she's heard that name before. It took her a few seconds before clicking it to mind. "Ah! Those things Garnet went on about. These are them? And they're actually real?"

"Yep. All of them." Ash looked at all of the Pokemon. "Real as they look."

"Well. I thought Garnet was just trying to come up with something for the foals." The mare chuckled. "Pokemon. What a name. And some of you must be earth ponies and unicorns, right?"

"R-Right. Unicorns here." Starlight grinned as she and Rarity nodded in confirmation.

"I'm not a Pokemon though," Spike spoke, pointing at himself. "I'm a dragon. Well, there's Dragon Pokemon like my buddy Axew here. But I'm a dragon from here. If that makes sense..."

"Axew."

"I see, I see. So have you come to visit Garnet then?"

"Well, we just came here to visit Pegalysium overall. And maybe show Prince Shooting Star some real Pokemon. He has Ash's Pokedex after all." Fluttershy explained.

"The prince? Oh, you're miles away from meeting the prince at the moment, that's for sure. But in the meantime, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Second Wind. Welcome to Feathercoast. Please enter."

The mare known as Second Wind introduced herself and kindly allowed everyone to enter Feathercoast. She didn't seem to have a problem with it. Despite the centuries and generations of being away from Equestria, the pegasi here were kind without a doubt.

They walked the bridge or flew over it. Some even swam on the cloud lake being Water-Types and everything. And once they entered Feathercoast, everyone took notice of them.

And how could they not? The first things that stood out to them were the humans and Pokemon. Not the other pony races. Although, they did take notice of Spike too.

"Ms Second Wind. W-What are those things?" A pegasus asked, stunned and bewildered at what he was witnessing. All of them were. There were mixed reactions. Some were amazed, some were confused, some were terrified and some had unexplainable emotions.

"No need to be fearful. These are just visitors. Do you all remember what Garnet said about those Pokemon? A laugh for a while, wasn't it?"

"We do...yeah?"

"Well. Apparently, it wasn't just some myth. These are the Pokemon she spoke of. Not the hairless monkeys or the dragon. Our world's dragon apparently." Second Wind shrugged.

"We're known as humans!" Chloe exclaimed, puffing her cheeks.

"These...are the Pokemon? They look so..." No one knew how to describe them. Every Pokemon had a unique appearance to them. Whether cute, terrifying, cool or all of the above.

"I know, I know. They are certainly something to behold, aren't they?" Second chuckled. "I trust that these Pokemon are well trained."

"Um...they're not pets..." Twilight said.

"Mhm." Second Wind nodded in response. "Welcome these visitors and their Pokemon, why don't you? Garnet should see this. Where is she exactly?"

"I'm here! I'm here!" Right on time, Garnet herself had shown up, flying in the distance. And on her was one of the Sky Foxes with two tails, clinging onto her back. That wasn't all. Since she was a foalsitter, some foals were clinging onto her face, stretching her. Some were also holding onto her hooves. Garnet then landed down, attempting to pull the foals off of her. "Ow-ow!"

"Perfect timing, Garnet. Looks like you weren't joking at all, hm?" said Second Wind.

"Mhm. I told you they were real! And look! An alicorn!" Garnet pointed her hoof over at Twilight. "Just like Princess Celestia! Not so crazy now, am I?"

"So, you're Garnet, huh? Great to meet ya." Ash put his hand out for hand/hoofshake.

"Pika-Pika." Pikachu did the same.

"Oh. Hello. Hu...man? Right?" Garnet put her hoof out, going for a shake. That is until one of the foals had jumped off of Garnet's hair, landing on Ash's face.

"Gh!" Ash grimaced as his body shuddered, feeling attacked from the foal.

"Pika?!"

The foal babbled as Ash fell on his back from the sudden attack on his face. The other foals left Garnet's vicinity and invaded Ash's. Soon, Ash Ketchum was overwhelmed by the constant foals.

"Oh! No! Bad! Get off of him!" Garnet cried out as she attempted to remove the foals away from Ash. "That's not how we treat guests!"

"Oh, but what's this?" A mare went up to Pikachu. "What kind of Pokemon is this? Am I saying it right?"

"Pikachu."

"Pfft. What kind of voice is that?" The mare held her laughter in after hearing Pikachu's voice.

"Well, I think it's cute!" An excited mare went up to the Mouse Pokemon, putting her hooves on his red sacs. It wasn't just her. Many of the children here were attracted to Pikachus cuteness. They could help but drive themselves towards the Electric-Type.

"Pi-Pika?" Pikachu was overwhelmed. Just like his Trainer. Those that found him adorable had their hooves on the Electric-Type. Ash and Pikachu were now prisoners of this as they couldn't break free. And by touching Pikachu's red sacs, the traditional event occurred.

"W-Wait!" Ash looked over at his partner as Garnet was still trying to pull the foals off of Ash with a few other ponies helping. "Don't touch his-"

"Pika...Chuuuu!" Pushed to his limit, Pikachu shocked everyone around him with 100,000 volts of electricity by exuding it out of his body. Everyone cried out as they were punished and treated to Pikachu's Thunderbolt. No one was spared except the Ground-Types as the electricity could even be seen from a faraway distance.

On the bright side, it freed Ash and Pikachu from the hold.

"My...What strength..." Second Wind coughed as some of the ponies had fallen over.

5 minutes later.

After recovering from Pikachu's massive crowd electrocution, the pegasi of Feathercoast were truly introduced to the Pokemon. And the only way they could know the Pokemon was by learning from experts. Mostly Ash, Twilight and Fluttershy.

They had the necessary knowledge to tell them almost everything about Pokemon. And Garnet and the pegasi were here for it. The Pokemon were all scattered across the town of Feathercoast, making the place feel like home instantly. Some ponies were still intimidated by the Pokemon. They were already afraid of normal animals in their own nation and the Pokemon were a different story.

However, while the pegasi were all for learning about the Pokemon, Ash and a few others wanted to know about Pegalysium overall. Starting with Feathercoast.

"So like it...can read minds?" A stallion spoke to Twilight, mentioning Espeon and her innate ability to predict her opponents' movements. "Is that true?"

"Sure is. Some Psychic-Types are capable of doing so." Twilight responded. "Eve can use her red orb and fur to pick up any slight shift in air currents. If the orb on her forehead goes dark, that means her Psychic power is temporarily depleted.

"Espeon."

"So if I do...this!" A mare wanted to test it out for herself as she lunged at Espeon. But was immediately met with a faceplant to the ground as Espeon simply moved to the side with ease. "Ow!"

"Eon."

"That's fast I guess...Or maybe that's just instinct..." The mare groaned, laying on her back.

"Espeon."

"Well...I'll let you check out the rest of my Pokemon. Come out all of you." Twilight used her magic to hold all 5 of her Poke Balls. And out of them came Cinccino, Ninetales, Absol and Togekiss. "You all. Get along well with everypony here, alright?"

"Nine?"

"I want to know all about Pegalysium." Twilight trotted off, leaving her Pokemon to handle things from here. "I'll be right back!"

"Toge?" Togekiss scratched her head before witnessing the area around her. Ninetales gawked at Feathercoast while Absol didn't care. He just sat on the ground, deciding to take a nap. Absol will take a nap wherever he wants. Ninetales was more enthusiastic to be involved with this. After seeing the pegasi in front of him, the Fox Pokemon greeted them by flaring his tails.

"Wow! He's got more tails than a Sky Fox!" A filly gasped as they were all amazed by Ninetales' tail number. "Wonder if I can touch it?"

"Wait!" Twilight's voice rang out. "Whatever you do, don't touch his tails!" Her warning was crucial, forcing the filly to back away. Touching Ninetales' tails could result in a horrible curse. And that would just be an unpleasant time for anyone. Ninetales stuck his tongue out, knowing that to be the case.

But in truth, Ninetales can decide who gets to be cursed.

A group of pegasi went over to Absol, attempting to pet the Disaster Pokemon. Just out of curiosity. However, the moment their hooves came close, Abols's eyes glowed a devastating red as he growled at them. The pegasi squealed, immediately fearing Absol as they backed away.

As for the tour, Second Wind was touring Ash, Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Jade about this. They were the most interested in Pegalysium's existence.

"If you want to know about our nation, then start here. Something that I own myself. Our town's Museum. Also known as the Pegalysium Gallery. One of many. This is where history can be found." said Second Wind as she displayed the museum to the group. When entering, they were immediately met with the dazzling lights and sparkles of the interior. It was certainly polished to be giving off this much light.

Aside from that, it was certainly a museum. The first thing in sight was a massive pegasus statue made out of stone. It stood in the middle and near the entrance of the museum.

"Say hello to my museum's best helper when you're at it. Oh, Kaleidoscope~" Second Wind whistled for her best assistant, sending her voice as an echo throughout the museum.

"Here! Here Ms Wind!" Already, a response had been made by the voice of mare, as approaching here as fast as she could, was the pegasus known as Kaleidoscope.

"Splendid timing as always. Kaleidoscope. Say hello to the Pokemon. The creatures that your friend Garnet was going on about weeks ago." Second Wind aimed her hoof at Pikachu and the others. "Real as they can be."

"Oh, really? Well..." Kaleidoscope shifted her eyes across the floor. "This changes everything then. Nice to met you all. I'm Kaleidoscope. An assistant here at the Pegalyisum Gallery.

"My best assistant. Let's not forget that." Second chuckled, putting her hoof around Kaleidoscope's neck.

"Well, I guess so. But everypony else here works hard, Ms Wind.

"Oh, don't be so humble. Embrace your greatness. Because of you, we have so much history that we could've never found before. You're a real thinker, hm?"

"I agree on that. That is impressive." Twilight nodded in approval.

"Thanks." Kaleidoscope blushed, feeling a bit embarrassed by this praise. "So, these Pokemon. Since they're real, what can you tell me about them? Are they a part of our history?"

"There's a lot. But Nah. We're not from this world originally," said Ash.

"Pika-Pikachu."

"The Pokemon come from a separate universe. Their own universe in the Pokemon World." Fluttershy held Scorbunny, nuzzling his head.

"Scorbun."

"Speaking of history...!" Pinkie Pie slid over to Kaleidoscope with Jade Skies. "Recognize this pony here. Jade Skies. Huh?"

"Jade Skies?" Kaleidoscope turned to the earth pony and jade-coloured pegasus.

"Yeah. She's gotta be from somewhere here, right? Somepony would put up missing posters around or be worried about her, wouldn't they? Pinkie grinned, expecting an amazing answer from Kaleidoscope.

"I'm...sorry. I don't think anypony here in Feathercoast knows about somepony named Jade Skies." Kaleidoscope shrugged as Second Wind shook her head too. Pinkie Pie's ears dropped after hearing that. She was upset that nopony here in Feathercoast was aware of Jade. But she was expecting the rest of Pegalysium to know. "I wouldn't even think the Indigo Alliance would know. Then again they might."

"Indigo Alliance? Who are they?" Fluttershy wondered.

"Well..." Kaleidoscope scrunched her face, moving her eyes across. Whatever she was about to say made her nervous and caused her heart to beat a bit faster. "They say this. Beware the Indigo Alliance that watches all the time. Within the shadows, they're always watching with infinite eyes. Whether out in the streets, your own bed, the forest, peaks and mostly the skies. Centuries, they've been around. And more centuries, they're here to stay."

"Uh..." Pinkie Pie and the others froze up after hearing those words. That was incredibly ominous of Kaleidoscope to let out and it certainly sent shivers down their spines. All except for Jade, who wasn't phased and Second Wind who merely let out a light chuckle.

"Sorry for the scare. But they're just that terrifying."

"Oh come now, Kaleidoscope." Second Wind nudged her assistant. "You know that's just a story. I mean, is there really a secret society of rich powerful ponies who silently rule the nation from the shadows? That's just absurd. I mean, King Paramount and Queen Luminary certainly believe it."

"There aren't?" Ash asked.

"Not at all. It's just something used to scare the little ones to bed. Nopony from some Indigo Alliance will come and destroy anypony who dares even expose their existence? I think not. Don't think too much about it. Especially you all. Our guests."

"S-Sure." Twilight nodded with a slight stutter.

"Anyway. Look at all the history that you want in here. I'll be off for a while. Kaleidoscope, I entrust you to properly school and teach our guests everything they need to know. And they will certainly tell you about the Pokemon." Second Wind spoke.

"Again. But you already came back from Big Sky, Ms Wind."

"The King is holding a press conference over at the main hall. I can't miss out on it. And if you can find any origin of Jade Skies here, that would be." Second Wind went up to Jade, putting her hoof close to the Rift Pony. But as her hoof was one inch from making contact, Second felt a slight tingle through her body. She pulled her hoof back after feeling that tingle. "Ow."

"Something wrong?" Jade asked.

"Nothing at all. I'll be back~" Second Wind whistled as she left everything in the hooves of Kaleidoscope. The assistant cleared her throat as she was in charge.

"Okay. So you want to know most of Pegalysium, right? Then follow me. Although, this is the smallest museum we have."

"Doesn't look small." Ash looked around, witnessing the scale of this expansive area. "It's just as big as the Arceus Museum.

"Pikachu."

"Oh, there's an even greater one at the capital. The Great Pegalysium Institute. That's where even deeper history can be found. It's a very popular place to had to. But maybe I should show you about what the pegasi were before today."

"Oh, we know." Twilight interrupted. "Warriors, right?"

"Wait? You already knew that?" Kaleidoscope turned to face the Princess of Friendship, surprised at her knowledge of the pegasi's past.

"It's a tale told during Hearth's Warming and how Equestria was founded," Twilight continued. "We know something about pegasi way back then. But not much or anything about Pegalysium. The rest we know about it is that it was founded right after Equestria was."

"Wow. I didn't know you were that informed."

"Oh, it's nothing. You could say I have my own history back home." Twilight chuckled. "I even have something for Pokemon ever since our worlds crossed over just a year ago."

"Really?" Kaleidoscope zoomed over to Twilight. "I can learn about Equestria's history and the Pokemon back there? You know I love to learn!"

"So do I!" Twilight gasped as they looked each other in the eyes with grins. They clicked immediately. "Wanna do a trade? Equestria and Pegalysium history for both of us?"

"Sounds good to me!" Kaleidoscope nodded as the two of them spoke the same word in unison, showing that they already had something major in common that they could relate to.

"History Buddies!" They both screeched, prancing on the spot while Audino's ears felt assaulted from that. Pinkie clapped her hooves, Ash and Pikachu gave an approving nod while Jade stood there, unchanging her expression.

"If you wanna know about Pokemon some with all those gene stuff, then my buddy Mew is your answer!" Pinkie came between Twilight and Kaleidoscope with Mew popping out of her mane.

"Mew-Mew!"

Pegalysium Capital. The Main Hall. Afternoon.

Just as Second Wind said, there was a press conference being run by King Paramount. Hundreds of ponies have already gathered here to hear the King speak. Second Wind herself had also arrived. The distance from Feathercoast and the capital didn't seem to be too far.

"What is Pegalysium to me?" King Paramount spoke through a magic shell that acted as a microphone. "Home is the answer I would say. That's the truth that I can answer without a doubt. But before that, I wasn't so sure. When I was still young, I saw the world as too big for me to handle. But then I remembered something, my mother, Queen Ascent, used to say to me before bed, no matter how I was feeling. Happy or sad. She'd say; Paramount. Tomorrow may seem far, but it's also a dazzling dream away." I still remember those words close to me."

Paramount's words reached everyone as Second Wind and many other nobles or interviewers watched the conference. Luminary wasn't here at the moment and neither was Shooting Star. But he was still asleep. But, Paramount knew he could do it without his family. He had that much confidence.

"As you all may know, despite how great our nation may be, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There are times when it can all seemingly fall apart. The days following the tragic loss of my parents were the worst of my life. I felt despair, enmity, and grief. But even so, my mother's phrase never left my head. They always came back to me. And deep down, I knew what she meant. I knew as much as things seemed to be reaching their end, that it was all hopeless, there was always a way for it to get better."

"He has such a way with words, doesn't he?" A mare gushed as everyone was so enchanted by this speech.

"I know you didn't come here to hear a sob story from me. But we've all certainly gone through our own struggles haven't we? Ever since the Spring Cloud incident 20 years or anything following after that. Some things that we were unable to control and when we see the result of it, we'll feel our own fears and frustrations come out. The worst of us all. But if we stop looking to the present and the past, and instead look to the future, we can find out what tomorrow can and will be. All of us can shape Pegalysium's future without a doubt. Nobility or not. And perhaps..even Equestria's assistance can help in that."

"Equestria?" Some of the pegasi said, hearing about that name for the first time.

"I will let you know soon. And I know your concerns. About the Indigo Alliance. Some see them as just a scary foal's tale. Unfortunately, they are as real as they can be. I know some of you may still not believe it. But even so, I'll promise to keep you safe. I couldn't protect my parents, so I'll protect all of Pegalysium. Not just my family."

And that was the end of that. A great speech from the king as he wrapped it all up. Everyone gave rousing applause for their ruler's speech. Paramount wished that his wife and son would've come here to see and hear it, however. But oh well.

Afterwards, Paramount told them all about Equestria. A nation below that has its own history behind it. Everything that he knew. Which wasn't much. Everypony here would follow King Paramout's ideals to the very end for an even greater Pegalysium.

As if it wasn't already great at all.

Second Wind felt like she could leave now. She only came here for the speech after all. But she did take some food with her along the way. However, after that excellent speech, within the shadows, another pony was watching.

A pony that wasn't seen or head by anyone. Within the shadows, eyes could be seen along with an indigo piece of clothing. This pony had heard everything from King Paramount. Especially the part about Equestria. After hearing the speech, the mysterious pony left, disappearing into the shadows. But before that, their eyes were narrowed.

Clearly, not all agreed with King Paramount.

Below. Afternoon.

Ash and the others weren't the only ones visiting Pegalysium. After also learning of its existence, Empress Twilight decided to investigate that land, or rather sky herself. And instead of sending any of her troops or best forces there, she did something better.

Empress Twilight would visit Pegalysium herself.

Arriving on her own ship was the Empress. And she still had some forces inside of her ship. Just in case. However, the Empress wasn't here for any conflict. All she wanted to do was talk to the rulers of Pegalysium. Why? Well, it could be for the sole goal she still seeks.

To continue ruling over everything she can.

As the journey continues.
