A Seemingly Permenant Struggle

Equestria. Magehold. Afternoon.

Fighting for his freedom, Yveltal was unrelenting. The container that held him was still standing thanks to the material and Rosa's magic but his destruction beams were starting to level holes, allowing his attacks to fly through. It once again took Rosa Maledicta to repair the holes, constantly battling against Yveltal from a distance while holding the Box of 100 Demons.

Rosa had yet to find the perfect demon to deal with Yveltal. This Pokemon was unlike anything she's ever dealt with before to the point where the options seemed limited.

"Where's that stupid dragon when you need him?" Rosa growled before narrowly evading another one of Yveltal's rays. She couldn't keep this up forever. Not when precious time was being eaten away. And Yveltal certainly wouldn't get tired. "You can't prevent what's coming Yveltal! One way or another, you will be serving under me."

But right as she said that one of the rays managed to knock the Box of 100 Demons off her hooves. Rosa almost fell with the box, only to recover. As for the Box of 100 Demons, no energy was sucked from it. Despite having demons within, on the outside, the box was not alive. But it did suffer damage, having parts of it blown off.

"Your majesty." Entering the room was Ebony Rhyme. The second she showed up, one of Yveltal's rays passed by, almost hitting her. If she could express fear, she would. Right now, she was terrified to be in the same room as Yveltal. "Still? Yveltal's resisting?"

"This is becoming a hassle for me, Ebony!" Rosa growled. "This cannot last forever. Something needs to be done. You might be the answer."

"Me?"

"Your potions. Use them. You've created a large variety of them that can do so much. Just as much as magic. You're the one who healed my hoof after Yveltal managed to damage it. Ebony, you've already shown me that your potions are capable of amazing things that even respond in kind to Legendary Pokemon. By default, even magic shouldn't be an issue for you to outdo. Now, it's time you proved it."

Ebony Rhyme was given the chance to stop Yveltal. But to her, that seemed almost impossible. Once again, this called for her own thoughts to do the talking instead of just saying it out loud. "The Lich Queen was already struggling to keep Yveltal's power at bay. What good would potions do?" Doubts sparked within her mind about assisting. "If anything, I could end up like the other ponies who were just barely hanging in there with their stone states."

"I know you're in a deep state of mind again, Ebony!" But Rosa Maledicta was used to Ebony Rhyme thinking deeply while seemingly staring into space. At the same time, the Lich Queen would use her magic to deflect the destructive rays before then forming a barrier, multitasking to the best of her abilities.

"Are you sure?" An unsure Ebony Rhyme asked. "I'm not comparable to you, your majesty.

"Do it! Whatever works! You said you wanted your potions to surpass that of magic one day. Then prove they can by using them against Yveltal!" Rosa exclaimed before having parts of her barrier shatter into pieces. Seeing how dire it was getting, Ebony Rhyme would take that chance.

"Alright. If the Lich Queen is struggling, then maybe extra help from the potions can break the equalizer between her and Yveltal. I need the best possible affliction." Ebony would gather up her potions from her cart outside, avoiding any collateral damage. This would mean that Rosa was forced to occupy Yveltal yet again but there were still some vampire ponies remaining, trying to halt the Destruction Pokemon.

The massive container unleashed an electrical shock to further damage Yveltal. But it did more than just hurt him. It enraged the Destruction Pokemon, only further increasing its strength via emotional power. Magical chains were wrapped around his wings, neck and tail, keeping him at bay for a bit.

Rosa Maledicta made up the bulk of these chains, making it harder for Yveltal to break free. But Yveltal made it harder for Rosa to maintain it. Meanwhile, Ebony Rhyme shuffled through her catalogue of potions that already had something within them. That's when she found the best possible one.

"Mind control is out of the question. Yveltal has already resisted her majesty's mind-controlling spell already. But...if multiple different effects that involve mind control were added, even Yveltal won't resist. After all, it already struggles against the Lich Queen with a constant back and forth." Ebony had the best option.

Multiple mind-manipulating potions. She figured that the best way for Rosa Maledicta's spell to work was for similar afflictions to join in, enhancing the effect. And of course, Ebony had a plethora of them along with other potions that would keep Yveltal steady.

Mind Domination, Forgetfulness, Mind Blanking, Immobilizing, Deliriousness, Mind Alteration, Paralyzing, Enhanced Pain and Tunnel Vision. Each of these would serve their purpose. Some would slow Yveltal down, some would target his mind and some would affect his natural senses. Ebony Rhyme carefully entered the room, evading whatever form of destruction came her way.

"Your majesty. I have the potions that we can use. If I combine my plethora of potions along with your Mind Control Magic, Yveltal might succumb."

"Overload Yveltal? Genius." Rosa Maledicta greatly approved. It was a simple yet potentially efficient plan. "But of course...getting it to Yveltal is its own issue. Listen carefully. Only I am a match for Yveltal. My magic is the only thing that can hold it back. You need to get those potions right where my magic can protect you, understand? Throwing them is too risky. And once you're close enough, my magic and your potions will become one."

"I understand." They had a plan and needed to make it work. "But before that..." To prepare for the worst, Ebony poured an extra potion on herself. The Iron Skin Potion. With just a few drops, her body was enchanted by a metallic effect. As if she became a Steel-Type Pokemon, Ebony Rhyme's body suddenly glistened even in the darkness. Funnily enough, it didn't burn her at all.

"Iron Skin?" Rosa looked over.

"Yveltal's destructive powers are terrifying but for a Pokemon, they have a chance to survive for a while until Yveltal fully gets to them. This iron skin will at least give me some durability comparable to a Pokemon. Now getting in close is the biggest obstacle." Ebony would approach with his iron skin as she even had iron hoofsteps.

Yveltal's wings smashed through the container as he was only rising in strength. The other ponies were failing to keep their chains up before being blown back by the sheer roar of Yveltal and even the pressure of his wings. A large wall had been opened up in the chamber, leading to the outside. Some of the vampires would fly out of this chamber room, only to recover by spreading their wings. However, staying airborne wouldn't be safe either, not with these red rays flying out. Now that the outside was exposed, Yveltal's rays would threaten nearby vampires and even the buildings here.

Hurrying as fast as she could, Ebony would move past the clutter of rubble. She would even hop over the fallen status of her fellow vampires, but in this instance, Ebony wouldn't care about them considering how they viewed her for having no magic. Since she had no magic, Ebony had to use her own natural skills for this. Luckily for her, being devoid of magic meant that she had all the time to train up her physical skills and it showed with how she scaled the container. Yveltal eyed Ebony Rhyme down, refusing to let any of those potions get close to her. To ensure the safety of these potions, Ebony placed them within her cloak as a powerful shockwave roar came from Yveltal. A destructive beam from the Destruction Pokemon broke out yet again, hitting Ebony Rhyme's stomach.

As expected, the Iron Skin potion protected her. But it didn't protect her potions. Once she was sent flying from the red and black beams, her potions were thrown into the air. Rosa would lock onto the potions, using her magic to hold them in place. A swift save on her part as Ebony was on the floor groaning. Even with the iron skin, the strength of Yveltal was not to be ignored.

"Ow..." Ebony had her hoof on her stomach. It wasn't turned to stone thanks to the iron skin but a red crackle of darkness could be seen, keeping the Potion Brewer on the floor for a while. "At least the potion works."

"The container won't last forever. And it seems to only be growing in strength thanks to its increasing rage." Rosa Maledicta thought to herself before putting on a devious smile. "Amazing...absolutely amazing! I was right to choose you, Yveltal! Your amazing strength only encourages me to overcome you!"

Thrilled that she found herself a truly formidable Pokemon, Rosa Maledicta would use the potions herself instead of having Ebony Rhyme carry them. Prior to this, Rosa was actually holding back some of her magic so that Yveltal doesn't suffer from whatever curse she may have. But at this point, holding back was pointless. If Yveltal won't hold back and can push back any form of magic, then Rosa figured she could let loose. The result was a devastating green flare.

The potions were all covered in this flare before being thrown at full force via Rosa's control. Yveltal would retaliate with his own flare which resulted in yet another flurry of destructive rays. But this time, it was a violent collision of Infinity Energy and Curse Magic.

The potions would slip and slither past the rays thanks to Rosa's protection, only for Yveltal to create more obstacles. The ceiling of this chamber was coming down, only adding to the chaos. Rosa could be seen groaning while Yveltal was managing to keep this up even when being shocked by the container. Pushing herself and revealing more of her magic resulted in a shadowy visage of black wings forming behind her back along with her pupils sharpening in the process.

Ebony Rhyme squinted as the last thing she saw was Rosa Maledicta and Yveltal being consumed by Green, Black and Red lights. After that, everything became nothing but colours for her as she closed her eyes to prevent any potential blindness. And for once, nothing was destroyed. This amalgamation of colours didn't level the entire chamber or anything like that. But it could be seen by many, that was for sure. Fantina would obviously see it.

Alas, the Hearthome City Gym Leader had no clue as to what was happening. She just assumed it was natural for the Dread League and how creepy Magehold was. Little did she know of the ongoings.

Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon House. The Pokemon Festival. Late Afternoon.

"Fidough." Away from all the madness within Magehold, the peaceful times at Ponyville continued during the Pokemon Festival. The Fidough from before stayed around, playing with Pikachu and the other Pokemon while Fluttershy finally returned.

"How'd it go?" Ash asked the pegasus.

"Good but a little tiring. I didn't think learning that language would be so exhausting. But it might be worth it in the future. If we ever head to space, that is. Um, beyond space, I mean."

"Yeah. But that's got me thinking about Galaxy Master right now." Ash sat with Fluttershy, surrounded by sleeping Pokemon who were already tucked in even during the afternoon. "I wish I could've spoken to the real him when I had the chance." Ash seemed affected by this. Not speaking to Galaxy Master and battling him with someone else in control disappointed him, especially with how excited he was to meet his own created character. Alas, it didn't pan out in the way he wished.

"You'll get your chance, Ash." Fluttershy was there to comfort him. "The Rift sent him somewhere. We just have to find him in whichever world he's in. I'm sure of it."

"Thanks, Fluttershy. I'm sure of it too. And besides...this is one of the few times I get to even speak to my dad. Since I based Galaxy Master on my dad, he's just like him. But with a whole superhero attitude and all that. Speaking to him again would be great, even if he won't have the same memories as my real dad. And I guess all that stuff on the Galaxy Tower wasn't the best first impression of him, huh?"

"Are you kidding? Before that, we learned the news about his good deeds. He's your creation for certain if he can still do good when being lied to by the Rift. But, I would've preferred it if he wasn't being controlled during that time. Here's hoping my parents aren't controlled when you meet them or it might become a tradition by that point." The pegasus laughed, prompting the King of the Sea to laugh back.

"Yeah. That's true. Say. Wanna head somewhere? Maybe where Fidough appeared. We might know where showed up from." Ash suggested. "Nah, wait. Manehattan, Galar or where Fidough came from."

"I'm feeling in the mood for the return of another Pokemon Region. Let's head to Galar together, Ash."

"Wait!" But halting them from going anywhere else was none other than Team Rocket. Specifically, it was James who yelled out. "You can't just leave again! Not after what we experienced!"

"Yeah! Stay behind! Pretty please?!" Meowth put his paws together, pleading for them to stay behind.

"Twerp!" In the blink of an eye, Jessie appeared in front of Ash. "I know we usually hate being around you even though we always come to you first, but just this once, don't leave our side. At least until we know everything's fine. Just for once, do us a solid."

"Uh, sure. You guys have been pretty helpful around the house. You haven't even tried to catch Pikachu at all or any Pokemon here for the longest time now that I think about it." Ash scratched his hair. "Oh, yeah. We gotta fix the house before we go anywhere else. My bad."

"Hah..." Team Rocket were relieved to hear that. The one time they needed Ash was this. Ash wouldn't depart just yet. Not after, the Pokemon House was back in tip-top shape. And with Applejack's family helping out, the process would be faster.

Nightfall.

Nightfall had come. Construction over at the Pokemon House had finished. Thanks to Ash, Fluttershy, Team Rocket and the Apple Family, the sanctuary for Pokemon almost looked new. Granted, some parts were missing but those could be fixed down the road. Right now, everyone wanted to rest.

Celestia and Cobalion would show up at the Pokemon House, seeing how silent it was. The first thing that caught their eyes were Ash and Fluttershy. They were already out for the night, sleeping next to a singular tree. The same went for their Pokemon as all other Pokemon, including the newly-arrived Fidough. The Puppy Pokemon was held like a baby by Dragonite, who also fell asleep. The only ones awake were the Nocturnal Pokemon and Krookodile, of course.

"So much for talking to them," said Celestia. "Oh, well. Right now, it's just you and I. Again, Cobalion. We can try getting lively at the Pokemon House later in the morning. I mean, if you have the spirit to do so."

"Not really." Cobalion was honest about it. "I couldn't get lively if my life depended on it."

"Oh, don't say that. I bet you can. With all that energy packed into your sword, how couldn't you?" Celestia nudged him. "I can bet everything that you do have a lively side. Any of the swords can vouch for that, right?"

"Not at all." He shook his head "Neither have seen me in a different light. The only ones who can be lively are Terrakion and Keldeo. Virizion and I, not so much."

"Hmm...That so. Well, you know how to have fun without being all over the place, that much is true. Just make sure not to end like me and make mistakes. Sometimes I go overboard and forget what happened afterwards, especially when I eat too much cake."

"It's happened before. Well, to all of us. Terrakion loves to joke around but sometimes he tells a joke at either the worst time or misses something thanks to his joke. Virizion is swift but her speed often leads to bad timing.

"Oh. What about Keldeo then?"

"He's young. He's easy to understand. As for me...I admit. I can be a bit too serious at times." Cobalion closed his eyes, admitting something not many would hear from the Iron Will Pokemon.

"Really now? I've never seen you be overly serious, even during dire circumstances."

"It's rare. But I was overly serious with my fellow swords when we first met long ago. I was too hard on Terrakion for being carefree and Virizion and I would argue back and forth. I blame most of those interactions on myself. I never felt the need to partner up with anyone with how powerful I am. But now, look at me. Humans, ponies and other species are my allies. How can I be overly serious again when I'm surrounded by all of this?"

"Isn't that sweet? I'm somewhat the same." Celestia added, looking up at the night sky. "I was so afraid of my failures of the past that I would try and unleash a strict nature onto some of my students. Sunset Shimmer was my biggest regret by far. It's what led to her fleeing and one day stealing Twilight's crown. I always jumped back and forth on if I should be kinder or stricter to my most-talented students. It was especially after Sunset Shimmer left and Twilight became my current student."

"Then we're both scared of being too hard on those close to us or even too kind for our own good. By that logic, down the road, your child will have to prepare for whatever side you show."

"Of course. You have to be the opposite of me when that child comes," Celestia smirked as Cobalion nodded in agreement. It took a few seconds for him to realize what Celestia meant by that. Cobalion wasn't one for having his eyes widen due to how serious they were. But in this instance, he almost broke his own biology as Celestia had one eye one, deviously smiling.

"Eugh..." Emerging out of Ash was King Sombra as he listened to their entire conversation. He felt like shuddering while hiding behind a tree. "Thank goodness I cannot have nightmares..."

Unova. Roshan City. Day.

Roshan City. A new day had come for the Pokemon Festival, meaning that one day left until the third week arrives. And here at Roshan City, arriving by boat was Captain Drake. And joining him were Lance, Iris, Drayden and Spike. All were Dragon Specialists.

They came here for one reason. To meet with Kyurem. Spike wanted a rematch while the other three wanted a shot at the World's Strongest Dragon. Iris was just here to watch Kyurem in action for a second time. Roshan City was the closest area to Kyurem's Ice Castle, which was over yonder. Even to this day, Kyurem's chill never left the atmosphere around Roshan City, yet no one was bothered by it.

"I didn't know your ship was this fast, Drake!" Spike gawked, surprised that Drake got to Roshan City after leaving the Sinnoh Region by sea. "Isn't Unova supposed to be farther from most of the other regions?"

"Never underestimate my skills, boy. And my ship also received an upgrade over time so there's that."

"We could've just taken a plane to Unova under my order," said Drayden. "But this is fine. So, you say that Kyurem is somewhere around here?"

"That's right. His castle is up ahead. Iris should know where it is too."

"Very well then. Let's make a quick stop at Roshan City." Lance walked ahead of them, confidently crossing his arms while looking into the distance as if he was the king of the world. To show off some more, the wind would even blow his cape in response. "Wait for us, Kyurem. We're coming."

As the journey continues.
