Map of the Universe

Equestria. Canterlot. Day.

"Welcome back, you three." Currently, Celestia was speaking to the Royal Family from Pegalysium. King Paramount, Queen Luminary and Prince Shooting Star. "This is your...6th time here?"

"And it's just as good as the last." Shooting Star replied. "You won't believe how much fun I've been having so far."

"By the way, Shooting Star. How goes that new magic of yours?" Luna asked, wondering if he's managed to form Destiny Magic or something else from it.

"Uh...I haven't found anything yet." Sadly, no news of his new magic had been sprouted. Right now, he was dry of Destiny Magic or anything else.

"Is Garnet here? I haven't done much catching up with her." Celestia looked around, gazing outside the window at all of the ponies from Pegalysium showing up. "Mainly with what I also felt the other day."

"What did you feel?"

"My Boundless Cutie Mark grants me something similar to Discord's ability to sense an imbalance in magic. In this case, I can detect strong magic nearby. And I felt some from Garnet. Something large.

"Garnet? The teacher at the Pegalysium Nursery?" Paramount and Luminary both said. They found it hard to believe that she was hiding a vast quantity of magic inside of her. But then again, she has been hanging around their son for a while, but that wasn't enough to make them think of her magic potential.

"Mhm. I already have one student currently. Adagio Dazzle. She's out there in the Human World searching for the rest of the siren species with her family. I wouldn't mind having another."

"Sister are you as addicted to having students as much as cake?" Luna was starting to question Celestia's obsession with having various students with great magical potential.

"No-no-no-no. I just love bringing out the potential in others." Celestia chuckled. It was far from an addiction. Just something that Celestia enjoyed doing for others.

"You mean that school that holds gifted unicorns?" Paramount turned to Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns which was outside.

"Oh yes, but those are for the younger ponies. I tend to teach older ponies. Would it be fine if Garnet were to learn here? I mean, it would be the first time somepony from Pegalysium was my student."

"Maybe. It's best that we should ask her." Luminary replied. "But with how things are going so far, Equestria and Pegalysium could share a lot. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to have pegasi learn here. We don't have anything like that back at Pegalysium anyway."

"Thank you. Now, I want to talk you about that candy island that you have..." Celestia continued the conversation, focusing on the island full of sweets. Especially cake. Luna could easily see why she was curious about that.

Equestria. Ponyville. Day.

Speaking of Garnet, this would be her first time setting hoof into Ponyville, alongside her friend's Kaleidoscope and Clear View. They had witnessed Ponyville in its current state, Pokemon-influenced and all. They were completely unaware of what Ponyville would look like without the inclusion of Pokemon. Then again, nopony aside from Cold Colt and Emerald Aura would know of Ponyville's original layout without Pokemon.

"Look at all of this...Living with Pokemon I've never seen before." Garnet admired the scenery. "I've been thinking. Those disruptive children I teach could behave a bit with Pokemon beside them."

"I don't know about that, Garnet." Kaleidoscope shook her head. "That'd just distract them some more. But anyway, I already know what Ponyville looks like since Twilight shared some info with me. Told her what Feathercoast looked like so we're both familiar with our respective homes. What do you think of this place, Clear View?" She asked the mute pony, who was using her crystal ball to speak.

"This is what I'd love back home. Living with Pokemon." She formed words with her floating crystal ball.

"We don't have anything close to that. But the King and Queen have been thinking about letting us catch our own Pokemon. We'd be supplied with Poke Balls to do it. Ah, I can't even think about which Pokemon I'd like first..." Garnet started thinking about her first Pokemon and how she'd live with it.

"What about the Pokemon over at the Drifting Peaks where the grotto and that gateway are?" Kaleidoscope suggested. "They're familiar with us. Clear over here said she'd like that Bulbasaur or Charizard. I'm personally leaning towards those Pidgey or Heracross."

"Whichever one works for us." Garnet shrugged. "But maybe your friend Twilight has some good suggestions. I mean, there are how many Pokemon? There's bound to be some for us."

"Speaking of Twilight...I see her!" Kaleidoscope slower down, spotting Twilight and some other familiar faces in the distance, sitting around a bench and chatting away.

Over at Ponyville, Goh was currently showing his Project Mew progress to Ash and the others.

"Urshifu?!" Ash said, looking at Goh's Pokedex and the Pokemon he managed to scan. "Ah, cool! Never seen that Pokemon before! Wish I was there to see it in action!"

"Mhm. So, Pinkie Pie. THink you could get your Mew to be cooperative and help with Project Mew?" Starlight asked.

"That depends." The pink pony playfully shrugged. "Mew's not gonna give a lot out."

"Figured he wouldn't..." But Starlight expected this. "I doubt Holon's Mew is keen on letting others know a lot about her. At best, we might have to wait for another Mew to be found."

"But it's all for the big goal of having every Mew in the world be a bit more common," said Goh. "That's what Professor Amaranth's shooting for."

"A world of Mew, huh...?" Ash thought about it for a second. It was indeed an interesting and wonderful sight to behold if it ever came into fruition."

"That'd be perfect. Mewie would love that, wouldn't you, girl? "Pinkie Pie looked over at the Mew from Holon.

"Mew...Mew-Mew!" And she agreed. She wished to reunite with more of her species as Pinkie Pie was aiming to help her reach that goal. And that idea was right up her alley.

"About that...Pinkie! I've got a place where Mewie can find another Mew." On the topic of Mew, Ash recalled one location that involved another Mew for them to see.

"Really?! Where?!"

"It's right back at the Kanto Region." Ash faced the gateway to Kanto. "Somewhere near Rota and where some of those Time Flowers can be found. It's the Tree of Beginning."

"Tree of Beginning? That massive tree we saw far in the distance at Rota? A Mew lives there?" said Twilight.

"Mhm. But uh...not sure if it'd be safe to go back there. The tree's not super fond of anyone who comes there. I've been there once but..."

"Then, it'd be fine right?!" Pinkie got in Ash's face. "The tree knows who you are so it'll be okay if we come, right?!"

"Mew-Mew!" Both Mew cried out in unison.

"We'll try. Let's head to the Tree of Beginning and see that third Mew." Ash adjusted his hat as a new location was set. Near the Rota Kindom and impossible to notice from there. The Tree of Beginning. Mewie was happy to hear this as this was a further extension of what she wanted. All those years of solitude would be wiped away soon.

"Twilight! Hey Twilight!" But before they could set out, Kaleidoscope called out for her fellow history buff, flying over.

"Kaleidoscope!" Twilight was to see her here as well as to be expected. They both held their hooves out, giving the equivalent of a high-five when coming into contact. "You made it here to Ponyville, finally!"

"Mhm! Figured we'd show up here eventually. Garnet and Clear VIew included. Thought I'd learn more about Equestria by being there myself. You've already been to Pegalysium a few times now, right?"

"I can see that more ponies from Pegalysium are showing up here." Twilight witnessed the incoming droves of pegasi from different parts of Pegalysium. "Great that you're here. But I wish I had time to show you around."

"Oh. Are you going somewhere?" Garnet asked.

"We are. Somewhere in the Pokemon World. It's about finding a Mew for another Mew and...just a whole package of things that I'll explain later." Twilight rambled. "But while you're here, you can check the whole town. I'm sure everypony else will help you around."

"So...the Pokemon World is beyond there?" Kaleidoscope and her pegasi pals peered their ears towards the gateway to Kanto. That gateway back at the Drifting Peaks now made sense to them and where it lead to. Another spot in the Pokemon World.

"And it's got Pokemon galore." Rainbow Dash commented. "From regions to everywhere you can think of. Check it out once in a while and you'll love it."

"And if you want to see more, head to PokePark. I'll have Cold Colt show you around." Twilight suggested. PokePark was also another good place to try as it was a Pokemon-populated area that it was still hard to describe how it existed.

"We'll keep it all in mind. Good luck with wherever you're headed." Kaleidoscope cheered. "We'll be here maybe all day. Mayor Umbra won't be too fond of us missing for a while."

"Did you call?" Recognizing how Umbra sounded a lot like Sombra, King Sombra showed up in his shadowy form from within Ash, appearing before the trio of pegasi.

"Gaaaaah!" The three of them screeched with Clear View making no sound whatsoever. Just an open mouth. Upon seeing Sombra, they were immediately reminded of Umbra as they were identical in appearance with slight differences.

"Hm?" Sombra raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, s-sorry. You just reminded us of somepony." Garnet sighed as Kaleidoscope's heart was beating rapidly. Sombra shrugged before returning inside of Ash.

Afterwards, Ash and everyone were ready to head to the Tree of Beginning. There was no easy gateway to the tree, so it was through the Kanto Region gateway and everything would be handled from there. It would be a lengthy trip considering it's also somewhere near the seas of Hoenn. Rota specifically. But a fun trip either way.

Equestria. Canterlot. Day.

"Oh, how I'd love to go there..." Celestia dreamt of the island of sweets. "For...personal reasons."

"You're free to visit it. But we should warn you that spending too much time on that island tends to affect the minds of anypony there. Because of that reason, nopony stays around on that island for too long." Paramount warned. "Despite how addicting it looks."

"So I'm unable to sit and eat cake on the spot forever there...Curses." Celestia bit her lip at the downside of being on that island.

"It's also not too hard to miss. The vibrant pink is so great that even if the islands were to move, you'd still be able to find it," said Luminary.

"About that. Is there a simpler way of navigating through Pegalysium when the sky islands move?" Luna questioned. "Having to go for hours trying to find specific islands can be so tiring."

"Hm. We should get you all adjusted to that." Luminary pondered. "We wouldn't want confusion and aimless flying. And I believe we know of one pony who can help us with that..."

"Who?" The two sisters asked.

"Starmap. Pegalysium's best cartographer." Paramount revealed."Come with us. With her, getting around Pegalysium will be as easy as it needs to be. Starmap has the entirety of Pegalysium mapped out and then some. Even your nation."

"She has Equestria mapped out?! But I thought that you weren't aware of Equestria. Or at least, your ancestors didn't bother to take notice of it." said Luna.

"I did say that sometimes we pegasi from Pegalysium come down here to gather new resources. We needed a layout to know where we were going." Paramount added. "Starmap managed to get your entire nation down on her map. That involves the entire world."

"You'll see just how amazing she is once we get there." Luminary winked, promising the Royal Sisters an amazing view. Shooting Star would stay behind for the sake of seeing more of this nation and the Pokemon that inhabit it. Right now, it was off to Pegalysium.

Pegalysium. Stream Park. Afternoon.

Another location in Pegalysium. Stream Park. A simple park for many to leisure themselves with. Whether it was doing activities involving sport or playing with their winged pets.

This park also had a tower made out of clouds which was also floating above the grass. The tower was tall enough to break through other clouds and seemingly even beyond that. The only place left to go would be space if it was any taller. And this would be where the pony named Starmap would be found.

However, considering that Pegalysium was a nation for pegasi, they didn't exactly have stairs. Despite the length of the tower, there were no stairs present. Only doors on different floors. The best way to access them was by flying as that was the obvious and only approach. Sometimes teleporting works.

And once the Royals entered the tower, Celestia and Luna had not only seen the abundance of doors that were sitting there without any ledges or stairs, but also an array of maps that were scattered everywhere. Maps with various locations that were both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Each map told a story of different places.

Paramount went for the door that stood at the very top of the tower, knocking on it. A hatch inside of the door had been opened, revealing a hole. And through that hole, some eyes could be seen with a faint gasp coming through. The door was opened for the King and Queen as the pony of the hour had revealed herself.

Starmap.

"Your Majesties. Welcome." Starmap greeted them with a soft voice as she let them in. "I just finished making today's map. I think I'll work on the next one too."

"You should get some rest, that's what you should do." Luminary replied. "You've been working for 5 weeks now. Even during the timeline change."

"Celestia. Luna. This is Starmap. Our cartographer. She comes from a family of cartographers who started out small and as time went on, each descendant and new family member managed to up the scale of their maps."

"Mhm. Nice to you meet you, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna." Starmap bowed her head. "Heard a lot about you and I learned about your nation Equestria as well."

"Thank you." Celestia bowed back along with Luna. "So...all of these maps you have. Are they all of just Equestria and Pegalysium or is there more? Luminary did mention something about the world."

"Two of them are of Equestria and Pegalysium. The rest are other places out there. But all of that is foals play to what I truly have. That world part is real. In fact...it's much bigger." Starmap smiled before almost falling asleep. She was certainly working for a long time, causing her to lose some energy.

"After this, you're taking a vacation," Paramount ordered. "That is final."

"Yes, your majesty..."

"So what do you mean by bigger? The only thing bigger than the world is..."

"Have a look at this first." Starmap spread her wings out, using her magic to telekinetically bring over one of her maps. This was a super-sized map. At least as big as a Snorlax. The map was shown to the Royal Sisters as it went beyond countries.

It was a map of the world. Their world. This planet that they call home. All of it was on this sheet of paper for them to witness from every possible location.

"This is the Earth! You just have this?!" Luna bellowed with disbelief. "I've never seen a map of our world before! Or anything close to it!"

"That's not all. I also have this map." She used her magic once more, this time bringing over a map of Pegalysium, but it was different. Or rather familiar. This map of Pegalysium resembled how it looked prior to Second Wind altering the timeline with the Avus-Pegasus. "The true map of Pegalysium. Excluding Pinnaculum Pegalysium. I have it here."

"Believe it or not, Starmap's ability to make maps of practically anything cannot be stopped by even timeline alterations. Even when Second Wind changed the timeline for the first time, she remembered the original layout of Pegalysium." Luminary explained. "It's her special magic."

"It runs in the family. This magic of ours." Starmap yawned. "But the map of the world isn't my masterpiece. This is..." To show the pinnacle of her craft, Starmap exuded more magic from her wings.

However, she didn't use it to bring over another map. Instead, the map was being materialized. Celestia and Luna watched in awe as the room had been darkened, gaining a bluish glow that lit up the room as if they were underwater. Flashes of small lights of various colours popped in in various positions as Paramount and Luminary were unphased. They've seen this before.

Materializing into thin air was the planet that they were all living on. But not just that. The Sun and Moon were being materialized with the same enigmatic blue glow that the magic of Starmap's wings were giving off in this entire room. It recreated the Sun and Moon while also materializing other planets that resided within the cosmos.

Speaking of the cosmos, it materialized that too as all of those flashes were revealed to be stars. The scale of this map was growing to the point where it was starting to encompass the entire room, almost reaching the size of a Legendary Pokemon akin to Kyogre. Luckily, the room was big enough to hold it.

Planets, stars and even galaxies were being shown and materialized with this blue light while also having different colours in the mix to make them stand out. Before they knew it, Celestia and Luna were looking at a map of the universe. Their universe.

Universe One.

"Here. The map of our universe." Starmap casually said whilst rubbing her eye. "It only took me a month but it's as complete as it needs to be. Aside from maybe a few adjustments. You can't see them, but I even managed to add some dimensions there. There could be others I haven't seen yet but I'll get to those."

"A map of the entire universe...That's unheard of." Luna felt like fainting from the sight of this. "And you made this?"

"I sure did. I promised my family I'd go beyond them and surpass what they made. So this is the best I could come up with."

"Well, it certainly is the best you could've come up with." Celestia nodded with an open jaw. "This unmatched!"

"Thank you, your Majesties. But I'm planning to make something bigger than this."

"I beg your pardon?" Celestia and Luna said in unison as their hearts skipped a beat from hearing Starmap's response.

"The Pokemon World. No. The Pokemon Universe is something I want to get down soon. I even learned there are other universes out there that are based on our universe. And even more based on other universes such as the Pokemon Universe. My dream is to make a map for everything. No matter how many there are."

"There is theoretically an infinite number of universes!" Luna exclaimed. "It would be impossible to have it all down!"

"It's possible." But she blew Luna back with that one response. "Every universe is roughly built and modelled somewhat the same but some are bigger than others. All I have to do is just make the same map but with varying sizes. If I can't then there's always the next generation to pick where I..." Starmap was starting to doze off. She certainly needed the rest as she almost fell flat on her face.

Luminary had caught the cartographer with her wings, using her magic to lay Starmap on her sofa. Starmap grumbled, already getting cosy on the couch.

"As you can see, Starmap is something else," said King Paramount. "Where it not for her, all of the moving islands would be an infinite annoyance for everypony. She has made a map for each island formation that is possible whenever the wind carries them, making it so easy to travel. Granted, it did take weeks to get adjusted anyway."

"What an amazing pony..." Celestia agreed. "To think she made maps such as these. The magic here in Pegalysium is simply something else."

"We have Windkiss to thank for that." Luminary stepped forward. "Pegalysium used to have simple magic at the time. But the moment Windkiss became the first Pegasus of Destiny and formed Destiny Magic, she managed to influence the magic of Pegalysium as a whole, forming it into something greater than what it used to be."

"The same is happening for us, sister." Luna turned to her big sister. "Equestria's magic is starting to change with all this topic of Pokemon and the Rift. I wonder what it will be like in the future?"

"Only one way to find out is by experiencing it together, Luna. We will take the maps for Pegalysium only. Each possible island formation please." Celestia requested.

"Done." Paramount used his magic to bring over the necessary maps. "Never again will you two be lost. Starmap won't be making any new maps anytime soon with the break we've given her. But if something comes up, guaranteed, she will make a new one without any hesitation."

"That's possible. Those Pokemon and their effect on the world." Luna shook her head, knowing that Pokemon such as Tyranitar would end up putting Starmap on a tight schedule.

"Now then. Let's continue where we left off and see some more Pokemon!" Luminary giggled, eager to return to Equestria for more of that wonderful Pokemon experience. They would all return as Paramount used his Rift Magic to summon a blanket around Starmap, getting her extra comfortable.

They left her tower, allowing the pegasi to sleep and get a well-deserved vacation for making so many maps. Especially one that spanned the universe itself.

Kanto Region. The Rota Kingdom. Afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ash and his friends were off to the Tree of Beginning. But before that, Ash wanted to stop by the Rota Kingdom for a bit. There, he met with Queen Ilene once more.

"Ash. Welcome back. It's so good to see you again and your friends." Ilene greeted them. "How goes things?"

"Great. I just wanted to let you know about Delayed Aura Ataxia. Haven't gotten rid of it, but we sure found a workaround for it." Ash replied.

"Pikachu."

"Oh? How so?"

"Well!" Along came Pinkie Pie to explain everything at a rapid pace. "We went inside of Ash, Twilight, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna's Mind which became one big mind with 18 Realms then we met this Gardevoir that was like an Aura Vampire who ended up making Delayed Aura Ataxia then we beat her but the whole thing's there but at least all the Lucario there are free."

"It's way more than that." Twilight intervened. "It'll take some time to explain it all."

"...Oh. How fun." Queen Ilene chuckled. "I'd love to hear it all but I'm at least happy that you've managed to counteract Delayed Aura Ataxia. You certainly have the ire of Sir Aaron to make it happen, Ash. Alongside the help of your friends."

"Ah, geez. Thanks, Ilene." Ash chuckled. "But we're also here to do something for a friend of ours. We're heading for the Tree of Beginning for her." He then turned to Pinkie Pie, who had two Mews pop out of her head. Her Mew and Mewie, who was the latest addition to their friend group.

"Another Mew?" Ilene noticed.

"Mewie over here wants to reunite with the rest of her species. And I wanna make that happen for her." Pinkie Pie held the second Mew who was shy in front of Queen Ilene. "There's my Mew and the Mew at the Tree of Beginning."

"Ah, I see. How nice of you all. Well, I suppose I don't have much to say now. You all have an important mission for a friend after all. But I will say be careful. Ash. Pikachu. You two are recognizable to the Tree of Beginning and thus, it will not harm you both. But your friends must be careful and need to be kept safe."

"That's what I'm going for, Ilene. And if it all goes south, we can count on our Pokemon to talk to Mew like before. Right, Pikachu?"

"Pika-Pika!"

Their visit with Ilene was short but sweet. They said everything they needed to say to each other. Ash and his friends continued on their way to the Tree of Beginning by taking the best possible ride. Mew transforming into a Lugia. Big enough to fit everyone on his back and he certainly had the speed.

Obviously, this was done outside so as to not harm the indoors. Everyone living in Rota would end up seeing Lugia, believing it to be the real one, oblivious to the visage that Mew was putting on. Mewie returned to Pinkie Pie's mane, sitting on it as the Tree of Beginning was hidden behind the cloud but still seeable.

She was thrilled to know that more of her species existed. The thought of meeting with more of them and potentially a future with much more Mew roaming around was a bright one. And in that instance, Mewie couldn't help but smile with elation as the journey continues.
