A series of unpredictable events

Equestria. Emerald Aura's home out in the fields. Day.

Emerald Aura was just minding her own business today. Nothing eventful was happening at the moment. She played her favourite card game Superfight with the local Pokemon and that was that. However, as she was enjoying her day, ready to eat her favourite food, Emerald Aura had a sudden surge of Rift magic go through her. Her eyes opened as she gained a vision.

"!" She dropped her food before standing up with shock and horror. She had no idea what that vision was since it was too quick to notice. But a horrible foreboding sense of dread met her, causing the Rift Pony to be worrisome. "I've got a bad feeling about today..."

Canterlot. Day.

Over at Canterlot, some guests had returned for a visit. Three of them. Shooting Star, Garnet and Kaleidoscope. As of recently, ever since the Royal Family went to the land below for the first time in centuries considering they were from Pegalysium, it led to this. Celestia went up to them each for a greeting. "Great to have you here again, Prince Shooting Star. Garnet. And you friend um..."

"Kaleidoscope."

"Kaleidoscope? Oh!" Celestia then recalled a name like that. "You're Twilight's new friend of 'History Buddy' correct?"

"That's right. I was hoping I could see her today. I've already brought some stuff to trade with her."

"Well...I can just get in contact with her and she'll be here in no time." Celestia gave her promise as she was ready to give the Pegalysium residents another tour.

Watching the tour was Adagio who was relaxing at the moment. She had done most of her lessons already with little effort so she has all the time for a break. Kricketot latched onto her face, obscuring Adagio's vision. However, Adagio wasn't even irritated by this. She let out a smile before grabbing Kricketot. Kricketot was someone who she couldn't be irritated by.

Premium Polish went up to Adagio, speaking to her and the Cricket Pokemon respectively. Yes, nothing eventful was truly happening at the moment. For anyone, really.

However, lurking near Canterlot, still undetected, was Skyblue Shine. She was still here for one reason. Her daughter. Not to take her back as her role as a mother. But for the Empress. Premium had a larger destiny than she expected. A destiny that the Empress had seemingly laid out.

"Today's the day." Skyblue Shine spoke, gazing from afar with her android eye being used to see from great distances. But she wasn't alone in this.

Instead of her Umbrage Thieves joining her in this, someone else from the Empress' side would aim for Skyblue Shine in Premium Polish's capture. The Royal Guard Tempest and her troops. The one pony Empress Twilight puts the most trust in and wishes she had used during the invasion.

"You're looking a bit hesitant there." Tempest pointed out Skyblue's current emotion. "You're not thinking of having second thoughts now, are you?"

"N-No. Absolutely not." Skyblue Shine responded by staring into the distance with an unchanging face.

"Because if you are, we can also remodel you, just in case." Tempest's words made the android shudder. "Or, a memory change if that's safer with you."

"I swear I'm not. Can we just get this over with?" He scrunched her face before closing her eyes.

"Right. Let's wait until late afternoon. That's when we'll take our chance."

Ponyville. Near Saddle Lake. Day.

And over at Ponyville, the same sort of situation was brewing. By staying hidden from everyone else, the five members of the Indigo Alliance were waiting for the Grand Judge to arrive. Just to take Jade Skies away. And speaking of which, the Grand Judge, AKA Second Wind had just arrived.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting. Some inconveniencies came up." Second Wind said whilst looking over at Ponyville. "But now it's time for us to act accordingly. We just need one big distraction. A distraction so great that it will be the only major focal point of everypony's eyes.

"Like what, Grand Judge?"

"Well, after Kaleidoscope and that Princess Twilight Sparkle pony had been trading history with each other, I took the liberty of looking into one of these books." She had brought a book that was originally owned by Twilight but borrowed by Kaleidoscope. "But we're not going to the far past. We'll be focusing on something that happened last year."

"Last year? W-What do you mean by that, Grand Judge?" The members were confused about what she was on about.

"Just watch. Once that sun colours the sky orange is when we move." Just like Skyblue Shine, the Indigo Alliance were ready to capture a certain pony while planning their attack.

Both had one similar goal. And they weren't ready to let it slip away from their hooves.

But while all of that was being prepared with barely anypony knowing about this, over at Twilight Castle's a lesson was going on. One with Cold Colt that is.

Just now, he had improved so much. Cold Colt was now able to do more than he ever could. He summoned himself an array of comics books and some of his favourite food that Twilight would not approve of. But aside from that, he was never able to do this much before.

"Check it out! How great am I now?!" He chuckled as he made himself a pillow to rest on.

"Pretty great!" Spike agreed as he was given his own pillow too. The two of them started eating and drinking what Cold had conjured. Spike could get used to having something like this in the castle at all times.

"Well, Cold. I can say that you're close to well...finishing all my lessons." Twilight went up to him. "Pretty soon, there won't be much I can teach you. You and Starlight might be in the same boat soon."

"Really?" Cold looked up. "Sweet. Didn't think I'd make it this far honestly. How lucky am I? That Togetic joy dust really came in handy, eh?"

"To be honest, I think you've gone past the joy dust now. That's your own magical talent shining." Twilight complimented which made Cold a bit embarrassed. His face became red with embarrassed pride.

"Heh. Well. I mean." He stumbled on his words, unable to find something cohesive to say. The day went on with not much happening aside from Cold improving to a point where he might be reaching his prime.

15 hous later.

15 hours had passed. The sun was giving off its late afternoon glow as usual. And it looked especially good in Ponyville. But, as beautiful as the glow was, something unexpected was about to be brought with it.

The Grand Judge looked over at Ponyville as she found the right time to strike. And she would do so with the Rift Magic she had inside of her. And what was this great distraction she mentioned?

Second Wind had figured out that Rift Magic allowed for many possibilities. So, she became creative with what she could think so. Her wings started glowing dark blue as she flapped them. The cosmic energy from the Rift energy was showing as a mixture of cosmic and natural magic emerged as it was dropped to the ground.

Second Wind then backed away along with the five Indigo Alliance Members. They could now allow Second Wind's magic to handle everything. And handle it did.

Second wind had thought of one major distraction. Something that would draw everyone's attention in with high pandemonium. And that something was a blast from the past.

The Storm Behemoth and Tree Behemoth.

Four of them in total. Two Storm Behemoths and three Tree Behemoths.

They erupted from the ground, shattering it while also making their signature thunderstorm noises that could be heard from afar. While the Tree Behemoths made an eerie howling sound of a cursed forest.

Second Wind watched her creation come to life. These were certainly from last year and a blast from the past. She summoned two of them near Ponyville, right here on Saddle Lake while the other two had emerged out in Exploud Chasm, which was near Canterlot. Second Wind knew that they would have to be occupied by four different entities of different sides of Equestria.

And it was working like a charm.

Immediately after the Storm Behemoth emerged, its 500ft appearance could be seen from afar as the thunderstorm noise it made from howling alerted everypony in Ponyville. And the second Storm Behemoth unleashed its thunderstorm roar which could be heard from Canterlot.

"Now. Head off and find Jade Skies. Grab her amidst the commotion." Second Wind ordered.

"Yes, Grand Judge!"

Twilight's Castle. Late afternoon.

"The Storm Behemoth?!" Twilight gasped after witnessing the return of this titanic electrifying beast. She even noticed the silhouette of the second one in the distance. It wasn't hard to miss. The creature was gigantic after all. "And there's two of them?! H-How?!"

"Espeon?!"

"Uh...W-What's a Storm Behemoth?" Starlight asked as she and Nyx were clueless about this creature.

"No time to explain! If it's back and there's two of them, then this must be the cause of Rift Magic." Twilight gulped as the closest Storm Behemoth was making its way towards Ponyville, sending pulses of electricity while scaring the Flying-Type Pokemon away.

"Is Obsidian back?" Cold sat up.

"Hopefully not!" Twilight spread her wings out. "Spike. Starlight. Nyx. Come with me. Cold...You can come too."

"Yes!" Cold pumped his hooves after being allowed to come along. It was time for him to see just how great his magic had become. He was glad that he wouldn't sit out of this one.

As the Storm Behemoth approached, everypony in Ponyville was on high alert now. However, unlike before, not everyone was scared of the Storm Behemoth anymore. Before, they were petrified by its sheer size and how much destruction it brought about.

But, after months of being with their Pokemon and improving their trainer skills, they're now only slightly intimidated by its size. But most were able to know that they could indeed stop this behemoth. Especially Pikachu and other Electric-Type Pokemon.

Speaking of which, Ash looked up, witnessing the return of this monster with him and Pikachu looking forward. Pikachu knew that the surefire way to defeat the behemoth was to absorb all of the electricity it sends at it and then blast it back. And just like the Storm Behemoth's first appearance, Pikachu and the Electric-Types were feeling off.

But this odd feeling was how they were able to overcome the Storm Behemoth in the first place. It was simply an overflux of electricity. The rest of the Electric-Type Pokemon could barely handle it. But Pikachu, being the special Pokemon he is, can handle more electricity than the average Pikachu can. Way more than he can hold.

However, Second Wind planned for this.

The book she held also included what led to the downfall of the Storm Behemoth. Knowing this, Second Wind added an extra trait to the Storm Behemoth to prolong the distraction.

The Storm Behemoth looked over Ponyville as it had raised its leg, ready for one might stomp.

"Braviary, Aerial Ace! Castform, Weather Ball!" However, taking control of the skies was Rainbow Dash. Braviary came zooming in at blitzing speeds, confounding the 500ft electrical monster. Following up with that, Castform unleashed a blast of fire from its mouth, hitting the creature square in the face.

A thunderous cry emerged from the behemoth as it had been staggered by those surprise attacks. The leg it raised had descended. However, a pulse came out of it either way with a small earthquake. After that stagger, the Storm Behemoth swung its arm towards Braviary and Castform.

They were obviously faster due to the behemoth's massive size, giving them plenty of time to evade it. However, the force of the behemoth's swing still carried its usual wind pressure. But the Storm Behemoth had also received some new upgrades. Now its swings shoot not only wind pressures by frantic sparks of electricity that were similar to the Counter Shield.

The sparks had struck Rainbow Dash, Braviary and Castform as they had felt the force of 30,000 volts go through them. "Aaah!" She cried out along with her Pokemon as they fell from the sky. They certainly weren't expecting an aftereffect of electricity.

Braviary managed to recover however as he soared through the skies. The Valiant Pokemon caught Rainbow Dash and Castform on his back, saving them whilst still feeling staggered by the electricity.

"T-Thanks, Braviary."

"Braviary!"

"We gotta wait for the right time for it to shoot out a bunch of electricity. In the meantime..." Ash held out two Poke Balls, sending out Lucario and Dragonite. "Lucario! Dragonite! Come out!"

"Lucario!"

"Dragonite!"

And as they emerged, Twilight and her group had shown up, noticing Rainbow Dash, Braviary and Castform right next to the behemoth. Braviary carried them each away from the behemoth, arriving at Ponyville. The Storm Behemoth hadn't approached Ponyville yet so it would take some time.

"How could that thing have possibly come back?!" Rarity gasped as she had rushed outside. "Wasn't it blown to bits?"

"That ain't all. Look!" Applejack exclaimed as she pointed her hoof to the east. Indeed, it wasn't all. Because there was one other behemoth to deal with.

The Tree Behemoth. The creature of corrupted nature had emerged with its crooked branch claws grabbing onto the top of Town Hall. It arrived here quicker than the Storm Behemoth due to its smaller size. However, it was still massive either way.

The creature had wrapped around multiple vines around Town Hal, squeezing it. Already, Town Hall was trembling after the arrival of this wooden monster. And all the while, the Storm Behemoth was approaching closer with each step, sending electrical pulses.

The Storm Behemoth had outstretched its arm. Due to how huge it was, the length of it was outstanding too. It could reach Ponyville despite being in the vicinity of mostly Saddle Lake. The arms moved through the air, causing wind pressures and lightning bolts to fly out as well.

"Here it comes! Eve, Dazzling Gleam! Absol, use Dark Pulse!" At the same time, Espeon and Absol had unleashed bright rainbow rays and a pulse of darkness in perfect unison. The two attacks flew forward, heading for the behemoth's hand.

However, this was where the change came in. Before, the Storm Behemoth had the ability to absorb attacks and use it within its own body and add it as a vacuum. But with Second Wind's addition, it could do more than that.

The Storm Behemoth saw the attacks coming this time as it chose to absorb them. But instead of using them to fuel its power, the Storm Behemoth was manipulating them instead. arms, both of them, were being coated in rainbows and darkness at the same time.

Not only could it absorb any form of energy to fuel itself with extra power, but it could also now make that energy its own from being more than just walking electricity.

"No way!" Twilight pulled back along with everyone. "Could it always do that?!"

"Espeon?!"

"Absol?!"

The behemoth roared as it had used its newfound abilities to good use. By putting both its arms out, the Storm Behemoth unleashed a giant rainbow blast of Fairy magic and a humongous vortex of darkness. This would most definitely deal major damage to Ponyville before the behemoth even gets there.

"Not good! Pikachu, use Thunderbolt! Dragonite, Hyper Beam! And Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Ash commanded.

"Ampharos, Zap Cannon!" So did Rarity.

"Sceptile, Dragon Pulse!" And soon Applejack.

All at once, they launched a counterattack against the gigantic rainbows and darkness with a bolt of 100,000 volts, a beam of Infinity Energy, a sphere of pure electricity, a dragon-shaped blast and a large sphere of Aura.

The attacks clashed with the behemoth's attack head-on. And they managed to hold them back. However, the Storm Behemoth could multi-task. As it opened its mouth, letting out a thunderous roar, it also unleashed a blast of electricity from its mouth while the other attacks were occupied. And without a doubt, its electricity was far stronger than the darkness and Fairy magic it had absorbed.

"Oh!" Twilight gasped as she quickly saw the bolt of electricity passing by the other attacks and heading for Ponyville. Before she could give a command, Rainbow Dash ad Braviary showed up.

"Absorb it with Steel Wing!" Rainbow Dash shouted as she hopped off Braviary. The Valiant Pokemon hardened his wings, turning them into metal. He then put them into an X-shape to try and block it. But he would do more than just block it. Braviary was aiming to conduct it.

The giant blast of lightning struck Braviary's wings as he flinched from the contact. HE closed his eyes, trying to endure the massive amount of electricity being poured onto him as his wings were reacting to them. "B-Braviary!"

As for the Tree Behemoth, it had spread out its vines, currently dealing with Mayor Mare and a few others after latching itself onto Town Hall. The Tree Behemoth had also received some improvements that were about to be shown. Stoutland jumped back after using Giga Impact on it.

"Stoutland!"

The Tree Behemoth suddenly used the seeds that were hanging from its body. The seeds had all dropped off one by one. And once they hit the ground, something within them started to emerge as they sprouted.

Smaller, yet house-sized Tree Behemoths had emerged. Just like how the Storm Behemoth could do the same as well. Speaking of which, the Storm Behemoth had done the same. As if it and the Tree Behemoth were in sync with each other.

But that only made sense considering who had brought them here. This was all part of Second Wind's plan to cause more commotion. The small behemoths started going on a rampage with the Tree Behemoths being the first. The Storm Behemoths had jumped out of the larger behemoth, leaping at a great distance. Great enough to reach Ponyville as they flooded the sky, blocking out the sun.

Now there were more distractions to deal with.

Second Wind and the alliance members looked over at the scenario happening in the distance But their eyes were mostly focused on SugarCube Corner. There, Jade was still present.

Since she didn't have a Pokemon of her own, Jade could not defend herself. She had to rely on her friends for that. That was the one weakness that Jade had after the members informed Second Wind.

And due to the distraction, Pinkie Pie, the one pony who could guard Jade Skies was outside, witnessing this event play out. Just as Second Wind wanted. Which meant that the only ponies remaining indoors were Mr and Mrs Cake, the Cake Twins and Jade herself.

Mr and Mrs Cake and their children also have Pokemon. But nothing too threatening in the eyes of Second Wind as opposed to Mew. While everyone was distracted, Second Wind had ordered her members to fetch Jade Skies as soon as they could.

The five of them advanced towards Ponyville, but not before having Second Wind use Rift Magic once more. She allowed the power of the Rift to make them invisible. That involved the sounds they made either flying or galloping.

Inside, Jade was staying in her room, waiting for all of this to be over. While she could not emote, she was essentially afraid of the current scenario. But Jade had faith in her friends to put a stop to this as soon as they could. The Cake Twins were also in their rooms with their parents protecting them.

And entering SugarCube Corner without being detected was the 5 Indigo Alliance Members. No one had seen them at all. An invisibility spell is always the way to go most of the time. They knew where to head. Jade's room. Grab her and leave.

However, even though they couldn't be seen, that didn't mean they couldn't be smelled either. WIthin SugarCube Corner were the Slurpuff. Just two. But two alone were enough to sniff out almost anything. And they sensed something new arriving.

"Puff?" The Slurpuff sniffed the air as they noticed the arrival of 5 individuals that they've never seen or been near before. Then again, they couldn't see them. But they could smell them. The Slurpuff were tasked with keeping the others safe. "Slur!"

The Indigo Alliance froze on the spot after Slurpuff looked their way. They picked up on their smell as the Meringue Pokemon approached their direction. The alliance members backed away as they didn't expect to be detected via their scent. One member rushed out to tell Second Wind of this.

Meanwhile, the residents of Ponyville were actually handling the miniature behemoths with their Pokemon or even their magic. They certainly weren't afraid of much anymore compared to the previous months. As for the Storm Behemoth itself, it was now close to Ponyville. Just right near the Everfree Forest which was growing back.

The Indigo Alliance member went over to Second Wind, telling her about the inconvenience of Slurpuff. As long as Slurpuff is there, its' impossible to leave with Jade if they're able to catch their scent.

"S-So you see, Grand Judge. Their sense of smell might be our downfall. What should we do?"

"A potent smell ability. I see. Leave that to me." Second Wind smirked as this time, she used her regular magic for this one. The Grand Judge had made a magic circle in front of her before pushing it. The magic circle had then vanished. But it didn't vanish out of existence.

Instead, it had emerged inside of SugarCube Corner, right in front of the Slurpuff.

"Slurpuff?" The two of them tilted their heads. The Slurpuff were cautious about what this magic circle could be. And they soon found out as it had unleashed a beautiful perfume fragrance that was akin to Sweet Scent. However, even though the Slurpuff felt enamoured by it, the fragrance was too potent, even for their noses. "S-Slur!"

Slurpuff's sensitive nose was both its greatest strength and weakness. If it is overloaded, then Slurpuff might react in an unpleasurable way. Like so. The Meringue Pokemon couldn't handle the perfume scent as it was too much for their noses to handle. They got on the floor afterwards.

That gave the Indigo Alliance the chance to reach Jade. They flew past the Meringue Pokemon, allowing the perfume to work its magic. After doing so, they had emerged inside Jade's room. But they didn't gently open the door. They opened it with full force.

"Who's there?" Jade said after witnessing the door open. She couldn't see who had opened it. She thought it was just the wind. However, the Indigo Alliance members surrounded her, ready to grab the Rift Pony.

And they did so. With no hesitation or time to waste, they immediately put their hooves onto Jade, covering her mouth with a tight headband as well.

"Mm?" Jade wanted to sound surprised but she could, unfortunately. The Indigo Alliance had their members. Now for their getaway. One of them blasted a hole through the wall with their magic, revealing the outside. While someone would suspect Jade's disappearance, they knew that no one would know who took her.

They flew through the broken wall while carrying their culprit. Jade was unable to speak at all or even move with her hooves, wings and even tail restrained. Only her eyes remained but they didn't matter against an invisible force.

At least, that would be the case. Yet again, another instance where Jade's latent Rift abilities show themselves. Her eyes started glowing as she was unconsciously using Rift Magic once more. And by having her eyes glow green, she was able to see through the invisibility spell, spotting her captors.

"?"

Canterlot. Late Afternoon.

Meanwhile, over at Canterlot, Celestia and the others had taken high notice of this. She ordered the guards to keep Shooting Star, Garnet and Kaleidoscope safe from this attack. The miniature versions of the behemoths had already arrived at Canterlot to attack.

As for the main Storm Behemoth and Tree Behemoth, Celestia and Luna would confront it themselves. Taking out the big threat was the way to go.

"Passion! Plasma Bolt!"

"Gardevoi!" Passion had damaged the Storm Behemoth before during the first battle. And now, it had the means to deal more damage. The Embrace Pokemon unleashed a blast of plasma, shooting the Storm Behemoth with it. However, the behemoth was stronger than before, able to take a hit better than its previous incarnation. It let out a thunderstorm roar before returning the favour towards Passion with an instant blast of electricity. "V-Voir!"

Passion had been struck faster than she expected as she went flying. Darkrai had caught her thankfully, unleashing a Dark Pulse with his other arm. However, much like the Storm Behemoth over at Ponyville, this one had also absorbed the darkness for itself, adding it to its two arms.

"Impossible...It was never capable of that before..." Luna gawked.

"Looks like this is going to be tougher than we thought..." Celestia uttered before knowing how greater this Storm Behemoth was compared to the previous one.

But while that was all going down, Skyblue Shine, Tempest and the rest witnessed this massive attack. Skyblue Shine was surprised while Tempest let out a smirk and a chuckle.

"This is a surprise. I was actually planning my own distraction but...this works as well." She laughed while Skyblue Shine knew that her daughter's capture was now closing in. "Well, let's not waste any time. Get the girl."

As the journey continues.
