Day 3: Pokemon Ongoings

Author's Note:

The Pokemon talk in this chapter as well. Also..it's near. The triple-digit number

Nighttime at the Pokemon Festival. The second night. Some ponies, people and Pokemon have decided to rest for the night while others enjoy the festival. The Mane 6 and Ash have decided to sleep for the night, resting their little heads. But the Pokemon wanted to involve themself more in the festival. Twilight's Eevee named Eve found a secret area that was hidden in the relief zone, and they decided to tell the others about it, hoping they'd tag along.

Pikachu was asleep next to Ash, but not for long. He woke up, rubbing his little eyes as he felt like he needed something to snack on.

"So hungry..." Pikachu yawned. He walked through the halls as the guards greeted him saying good evening, Pikachu the Noble. Although the face he was making wasn't so noble. Walking outside, he came across Eve who looked to be sneaking around. "Eve? What are you doing?"

"Sssh. No other Pokemon can hear about this. I don't want it to be ruined." She replied quietly.

"What? What don't you want everyone to hear?"

"At the relief zone, I found this secret area hidden behind the vines. There's a whole goldmine of yummy food there. So much food..." Eve started to drool.

"Seriously? I wanna see this!" Pikachu exclaimed as Eve put her paw in his mouth, keeping him quiet.

"Quiet! It needs to be secret. If the others find out about it, they'll eat it all and there'll be none left for me. I'm only bringing one Pokemon along and it's you since my trainer and yours are super close friends. So keep quiet. Got it?"

"Mhm." Pikachu nodded his head.

"You won't be so quiet if you look so suspicious?" Just when they thought they were alone, Passion had shown up, overhearing everything.

"Passion? Why are you here? Did you hear us?" Eve said.

"Indeed I did. You weren't honestly thinking of sneaking to an unknown area in royal Canterlot grounds now were you? As Celestia's Pokemon and the most important Pokemon here, I must also know about this secret area with a goldmine of food."

"I guess I can bring one more. But that's it. I don't want it all to be eaten. Now hurry before another Pokemon sees or hears us."

Eve led the two Pokemon towards this apparent secret area. She looked around, hoping that no Pokemon would see them sneak towards the vines. The vines were all mashed together, making the area well hidden as there were a lot of them hanging. The Evolution Pokemon used her tail to move the vines over, revealing a pathway. "In here." She said as the two Pokemon jumped in. Eve took a moment to look around, making sure no Pokemon heard them, and the coast was clear.

Pikachu and Passion set foot inside, and they saw the motherload of all food here. Heaps of it. Stacked up like towers. From Pokeblocks to berries, pastries, etc. It was all here. "Woah...How long has this been here?" Pikachu gazed at the dynasty of food."

"Apparently, someone's been taking all the food from the festival and hiding it here. This is all food from yesterday. So it's still good to eat." Eve explained.

"So there is a gluttonous thief on the loose eh? When I find whoever it is..." Passion was not taking kindly to all these stolen goodies.

"Maybe it was a Munchlax? Or a Snorlax even." Pikachu theorized.

"If it was a Snorlax, no way it would be able to get through the entrance. Must've been a Munchlax then." Eve replied.

"Who cares. Let's dig in!" Pikachu was about to take a bite out of some pastries but was stopped by Passion's Psychic.

"Slow down there, Pikachu. This all belongs to the festival. The best solution is to return it back to where they originally were. The owners can't run out of essentials for their stands."

"Aw. But I'm starving. There's so much right there. Can I just take some of them?"

"Fine. Just don't go overboard." Passion let him go.

"Sweet!" Pikachu walked towards the goldmine, grabbing a pie, ready to snack down on it.

"One thing I don't get is how they managed to sneak this many? It's only been 2 days since the festival started and I'm surprised no other Pokemon has come in here. Not to mention, Munchlax isn't exactly the fastest Pokemon or the stealthiest. So who really did it?" Passion asked.

"It could be Victini." Pikachu theorized. "Victini can turn invisible after all. But who cares, free food!"

"Now all we have to do is return all of it. This might take a while." Passion sighed. She started to grab as many as she could with Psychic.

"Hey hold on! I didn't bring you along to take them all away." Even had stopped her. "I'm keeping this place hidden because that means I'll get to snack on all of these in secrecy."

"Huh? How selfish can you be? It isn't yours. We don't even know who brought them all here" Passion narrowed her eyes as she and Eve locked eyes. "We're returning it all."

"You think just because you're Celestia's Pokemon you can boss me around? I'm the Pokemon of a princess too!"

"Hah! Princess of Friendship that is. Mine is the Princess of the Sun and Equestria. I'm automatically leagues above you." Passion had a smug look on her face as she looked down at Eve who growled back at her.

"Hmph! You sure act differently when you're not around Celestia. Guess these are your true colours, eh?"

"Oh? And you don't when Twilight isn't around so she can't scold you for being rude?" The two of them were going back and forth, disliking each other's tones. Pikachu broke the fight apart by holding a cupcake in between them.

"Come on you two. Chill out and have some cupcakes. These have vanilla frostings with sprinkles." He said.

"We don't have time for- Sprinkles?" The both of them turned to the cupcake, seeing it in all its delicious glory. They each took some of the frostings, tasting it. The argument they had earlier ceased to exist entirely thanks to the magic of Pinkie Pie's baking.

"Mmm. On second thought, maybe we can eat some of them for a bit." Passion commented. The three of them stayed behind, eating some of the food here until they were satisfied.

"Ugh. I'm full..." Eve sat on her back. "I can't eat another bite..." She groaned.

"In that case. We can take this all back now. I can get the other Pokemon to help us." said Passion.

"W-Wha? No way you're gonna-" Eve couldn't finish her sentence. She was too full. "Forget about it... It was fun while it lasted."

"Well, I'm tired. I already got my midnight snack. See ya." Pikachu said as he was about to leave.

"Hold on. Don't leave me here." groaned Eve. Pikachu picked her up, carrying the Evolution Pokemon outside of the hidden area. Once the three Pokemon left, the actual Pokemon who took all the food showed itself but wasn't seen by Pikachu and the girls.

Turns out it was Munchlax. But he wasn't alone. Victini ended up assisting him. The Victory Pokemon boosted Munchlax's speed to an insane amount, which is how it was able to bring so much food here in a short while. The two of them laughed as they knew they were still undiscovered.

Back at the festival, Rainbow Dash's Braviary and Altaria were dozed off near the Canterlot Gardens. Darkrai was on his usual night watch, looking out for anything suspicious while Luna guards the Dream Realm. Gengar snuck about, scaring anyone that came by with its usual shenanigans. For the Pokemon, the night was the calmest time of the festival. Passion returned back to the indoors of Canterlot, seeing her trainer asleep in her bed. The night was a time were Celestia could relax for a long time. Previously, Luna was in the moon, so she barely got any hours of sleep, but once her sister came back that changed and with the inclusion of Pokemon, her resting time has been fairly sound and peaceful. Passion went up to Celestia sitting down next to her. She then thought to herself on how she's going to protect the trainer she loves the next time a threat comes along.

"If I want to protect you, I have to improve myself. I have to evolve into a Gardevoir eventually so that you don't get hurt." She whispered. "I barely did much against Tirek. It was Ash and his Pokemon that ended up doing most of the work. I promise that I'll grow into a strong Pokemon who will always protect you." Obviously Celestia couldn't hear what she was saying, but Passion didn't care. So she went to bed as well, sleeping next to her trainer.

Day 3 had come along. Festival carries on and the Mane 6 and the others will spend one last day in Canterlot before they head to their next destination. The Crystal Empire.

The group were already outside partaking in the festival once more. The trainers were doing their own thing in the form of a quiz game formed by a Chatot. The Pokemon were free to do whatever they want. Pikachu was joyfully strolling around the festival with Riolu, Farfetch'd and Dragonite on his side. Gengar was somewhere else doing what it does best. "One more day and we head to the Crystal Empire to continue the festival." The Electric Mouse commented.

"Crystal Empire?" Riolu asked.

"Oh right. You three haven't been there before. Well, its an empire that's all crystals. It's pretty dazzling if you ask me." He explained.

"An empire full of crystals? Won't that mean it's very fragile?" said Dragonite.

"If they aren't careful something hard could topple that entire empire." Farfetch'd uttered.

"Don't worry. Those crystals are pretty hard so they won't be breaking so easily. I wonder what attractions are gonna be there?"

"I hope we get to fight some more!" Riolu punched the air.

"I hope there are new friends there." Dragonite was only thinking about giving hugs to potential new pony friends.

"Say. Why don't we try the Tangrowth Swing-Along?" Pikachu pointed to the attraction. For this specific attraction, ponies and Pokemon will have to hold on for dear life and swinging from rope to rope and hope to make it all the way over to Canterlot Gardens. The only category of ponies and Pokemon excluded from this attraction were Pegasi, Flying-Types and certain Dragon-Types. Pokemon moves were also allowed to be used as well.

"So. Who wants a go next?" Tangrowth announced. The Vine Pokemon was looking around for potential swingers. "What about you lot?" She pointed at Pikachu and the others.

"I'm in!" Pikachu exclaimed.

"I hear swinging is good for the body. I'll become unstoppable!" Riolu was up for it.

"I'll pass." Farfetch'd would sit this one out.

"I don't think it would be fair for me to join since I can fly. I'll pass as well." Dragonite said.

"Excellent. Anyone else?" Tangrowth kept searching.

"I'll join in." A newcomer was up for this attraction. It was Goh's Raboot. "So you just swing on those things? Seems simple enough."

"Great. We that's three participants. And I see some more lining up. You lot get ready to swing now, alright?"

The three Pokemon and the other participants had climbed up the ropes, holding onto them with a powerful grip. "If you feel like you're too scared, I'll catch you." Tangrowth reassured them.

"We'll be fine. Thanks!" Pikachu replied.

"Alright...start swinging!"

The attraction was on. Both Pokemon started to force their bodies to make the ropes swing. Ever so gently they started to sway back and forth, picking up momentum. For them to reach Canterlot Garden, they'd have to get over the rest of the buildings that are connected with the castle. And Canterlot Castle is a behemoth of a structure. So it had to be a long-distance swing. Their momentum had built up to a good amount as they were ready to swing onto the next rope. All of them let go of their ropes, swinging forward. They got a pretty good distance but some fell behind. More specifically some of the Rock-Types couldn't get past the 4th rope considering their hard bodies weighing them down. The Bug-Types had improvised but not only using their light body as their advantage but also utilizing String Shot to latch onto the ropes if they by chance missed it by a margin.

Riolu was getting ahead of Pikachu and Raboot, proving to be the more agile Pokemon in this situation. The ropes were getting further away from each other, making the distance longer. So the Pokemon would have to put in a ton of effort if they were to reach the next ropes. In their way was one of the spires of Canterlot. Meaning they also had to manoeuvre with the ropes. Pikachu used to wind to his advantage, making him sway the rope to the left, avoiding the spire. Riolu and Raboot flipped over the spire while grabbing onto the next ropes. A Krabby was actually managing to keep up with them. Its grip on the vines with its big meaty claws was helping the River Crab Pokemon greatly.

"Later suckers!" Krabby exclaimed as he was now ahead of them all.

"Hey!" Riolu used Vaccum wave by firing it behind him to give him an extra boost. Inside of Canterlot, Cadence and Shining Armor could see the Pokemon swinging along the ropes along with the guards. It definitely confused them for a bit. But they're Pokemon, they're always up to something new.

Pikachu had to get ahead somehow, so he decided to improvise himself. By using Quick Attack, he increased his momentum on the ropes as he was swinging through the ropes like they were nothing. He kept up with Riolu but they were still behind Krabby, who was laughing at his lead, looking behind him. "This is a breeze-" His momentum was stopped as he crashed into a wall, not paying any attention to where he was swinging. Pikachu and the others passed him as they could see the gardens.

"Almost there!" Both Pikachu and Riolu said. Raboot had caught up with his own Quick Attack. Now it was neck and neck between these three small and agile Pokemon. Pikachu decided to go for broke and risk it all in this one final swing. He leapt off the rope he latched onto as he spun himself around while generating Thunderbolt. He had brought up Counter Shield. It was a great distraction to everyone else since there was a large cluster of lightning blocking their way. Pikachu ended up being the first to land down on the gardens as Tangrowth was waiting there.

"Nice! Great job winning first place, love!" Tangrowth congratulated him. Raboot came in second, Riolu third and the other Pokemon came after.

"Whew. Swinging does give you a different feel doesn't it?" Pikachu laughed. "I'm actually kind of dizzy." His eyes wobbled around as he was struggling to keep his distance. He fell but Tangrowth had caught him.

"I think I feel more durable." Riolu looked at his arms. "What about you Raboot?"

"Meh. I feel a rush I guess? I'm headed off to do something else now." Raboot walked off to enjoy more of the festival.

Inside of the castle, Passion was with Cadence's Sylveon along with Eve. They were discussing what Eve and Passion were arguing about yesterday. Being the Pokemon to a princess.

"You may be Celestia's Pokemon. But don't forget, it's my Twilight who's saved Equestria the most lately." Eve said to Passion.

"Hmph. Only for recent times. I can bet you that my Celestia has saved Equestria dozens more in the past. More than Twilight has currently."

"Are you two still arguing about this?" Sylveon stepped in. "Does it really matter?"

"Well, it wouldn't be such a problem if Passion over here didn't brag about her being Celestia's Pokemon. She does it all the time and when Celestia's not around."

"Well I can't help it if it's the truth. It's logical for the Pokemon who's trainer is the ruler of an entire country to be of high importance. Just you wait when i become a Gardevoir. I'll look the part even."

"Then, I bet that Twilight will become the Future Ruler of Equestria." Eve suddenly blurted, confusing Passion and Sylveon.

"Twilight Sparkle? Ruler of Equestria? I don't see it." Passion shook her head.

"I have to agree with Passion on this one, Eve. Twilight isn't really fit to rule an entire country. I think she's happy with her current status."

"Maybe not now. But i bet in the future, she'll become the greatest princess ever. And when I become an Espeon, I'll be her right hand Pokemon."

"Okay. You two obviously love your trainers very much and their ranking and titles. But can't you two accept that they're great in their own way? Celestia is amazing for being the Ruler of Equestria and having to do so much work without her sister for thousands of years. The struggles she must've gone through were tough but she's still here, which makes her worthy of being ruler. And Twilight is just as great for saving Equestria in this modern day and spreading friendship across the land including harmony. They're both amazing at what they do." Sylveon calmed them both down.

"I guess so...I didn't really think about how their accomplishments differ from each other. I'm too busy focused on how great my Celestia is." Passion replied. "Sorry for not acknowledging Twilight's feats."

"Sorry for trying to ignore Celestia's. Guess we just love our trainers that much huh?"

"See? All you need is a little love." Sylveon brought the two closer together, forcing them into a group hug. "Now let's enjoy this festival some more. What first girls?"

"Well aren't we headed to the Crystal Empire tomorrow?" Eve asked.

"Yeah. But I'm not going. I have to stay with Celestia." Passion responded.

"So it'll just be us two. I'll be like an older sister to you." Sylveon rubbed Eve's head. The Evolution Pokemon wasn't a fan of being treated like a child, even though Sylveon was an evolution of it. "Call me big sister Sylvie."

"I'm not calling you that!" Eve slapped Sylveon's paws way from her.

"Haha. Just teasing you, Eve.

"Before you two head to the Crystal Empire, I wanted to ask you all a question. What are you all going to do everything goes back to normal? I mean... I don't want to say goodbye to Celestia." Passion suddenly gave off a sad tone.

"You're thinking about that too? I have my fear of leaving Twilight too."

"And I'm afraid of saying goodbye to Cadence. But if we don't want it to end so soon, we can have fun with them while this lasts right?" Sylveon gave off a smile.

"Mhm." The two of them nodded. Their wholesome moment was interrupted by Gengar who popped out of the ground, terrifying them all with a grueling cry.

"EEK! Gengar! Again?!" Eve shouted.

"Hehehehe!" The Shadow Pokemon snickered, always getting off on scaring others. But it came back to bite him in the form Darkrai who was looming over Gengar. "Hm?" Gengar turned around to see the Pitch Black Pokemon eyeing him down from above. Gengar froze for a bit as he let out a squeal, phasing through the ground and leaving.

"Thanks Darkrai." Passion had thanked him as the Dark-Type disappeared into the shadows.

Back outside, Pikachu had recovered after the intense swinging from the Tangrowth attraction. He sat down on a chair, drinking some orange juice. "Ah. Much better."

"Say, Pikachu." Riolu uttered to his fellow teammate.

"Yeah? What is it Riolu?"

"Do you think we're gonna really make it to the top with Ash? I mean, going up against that Leon guy after all seems pretty intimidating even for me. He's unbeatable after all. Can we really get past someone like that?"

"I have my doubts too, Riolu. I'm Ash's pride and joy. But that doesn't mean I'm always going to guide him to victory. And I don't always win my battles."

"So, you also don't think we can reach Leon?"

"I do think we can reach him. You see, the reason why I always stay beside Ash is because of his spirit and determination. Ever since that day with the Spearows, when he risked his own life to rescue me, I knew that he was truly my partner. We've been through a lot together, seen a lot of stuff, but through it all I want to share his ambitions to become a Pokemon Master. If he's gonna be the very best, then I swear that I'll become the strongest Pokemon ever. Even if we lose, I'll always be beside him. No matter what."

"Wow. You think, I can reach that too?" Riolu pointed his paws at himself.

"Maybe you won't match how long I've been with him, but I'm sure you can reach a level where you and him are in perfect sync. I know him and Greninja definitely were." Pikachu laughed.

"Then I'll get stronger than I'm supposed to! I'll find a way to obtain a strength so great that I'll make sure Ash never loses!" Riolu stood up from his chair.

"That's the spirit! Now come on! Let's head back to Ash." Pikachu hopped off his chair, running off with Riolu as they headed back to their trainer. All the Pokemon left their spots, wanting to see the trainers once more. Ash and the others were all hanging out at the relief zone. They could see their partner Pokemon returning to them. They all looked like they had some fun back at the festival.

"Pika-Pi!" Pikachu called.

"Oh, hey Pikachu. Guys. Did you have fun over at the festival?"

"Pika!" Pikachu hopped onto his pal's shoulder.

"Rio!"

"Hey, Eve. You look pretty happy today. One step closer to becoming an Espeon, huh?" Twilight said to her Pokemon.

"Eevee!"

"I assume we're all ready to head to the Crystal Empire tomorrow?" Rarity asked.

"You bet'cha." Applejack replied.

"And with our new friend Jade, it'll be a blast!" Pinkie placed her hoof around Jade who was still numb of all emotions.

"Let's not waste any time! Not only do I wanna finish this festival, I also wanna finish my upcoming fourth Gym Battle! I've had loads of time to prepare!" Rainbow Dash flew up.

"We'll be leaving soon, Victini. But I hope we get to see you again someday." Fluttershy looked up at the Victory Pokemon.

"Tini!"

"Crystal Empire, here we come!" Twilight exclaimed.

They still had some time left before the day would even end. So a bit more of the festival to enjoy as the journey continues.
