All this for a birthday

Pegalysium. Feathercoast. Day.

Weeks have passed since the Indigo Alliance incident. And a lot is changing in Pegalysium. Especially in Feathercoast as Second Wind was revealed to be the ringleader of it all.

The Pegalysium Gallery, aka the museum, had taken a heavy hit because of this revelation. All workers in there practically had no job now that Second Wind had been found out and is currently on the run. Especially her best worker, Kaleidoscope. She was currently inside of the museum, unsure of what to do.

"8th time I've been in here and I still don't know what to do." Kaleidoscope sighed as Queen Luminary walked up to her. "What do I do, Queen Luminary? I mean, do I even have a job anymore?"

"I wouldn't say so." Luminary shook her head. "I would try and run it, but I don't know the first thing of running a museum. Neither does my husband."

"What about the Pegalysium Nation Museum at the capital? Can the museum owner claim this one too?"

"Well, I'm working on that. In the meantime, chin up." Luminary put her hoof on Kaleidoscope's chin. "I know this is difficult for you. It is for everypony else here who knew Second Wind."

"She was so nice though. I can't believe she'd be the ruler of it all." Kaleidoscope sighed. "Been a bit hard for everypony. Especially the young ones."

"I know. Right now, there's a chance that Second Wind has retreated to the south and at the neighbour kingdom of Pegalysium. I'm afraid she'll be back."

"And if she comes back, she'll have a lot to answer for." Entering the room was the doppelganger of King Sombra, Mayor Umbra Streak. "I always knew Second Wind was off. How she always called shots and made her own rules and orders despite me being the mayor."

"Good to see you too, Umbra Streak." Luminary smiled. "I see you're not as affected."

"I am. In my own way." Umbra replied before shrugging "I do feel for the ones that were attached to her. But, no time to pity a criminal. After all, I may have to shut this place down immediately."

"Shut it down?!" Kaleidoscope pulled back. "But I work here! I mean...I don't have a job anymore but..."

"After what had just happened and other ponies that were in on this secret society, I can't take my chances." Umbra already brought over the papers to officially close down this museum. "Sorry about this, Kaleidoscope."

"Hold on, Umbra." But, Luminary hastily paused her. "That won't be necessary. I've chosen to keep the museum active and assign somepony else to own it. So the jobs here won't fade away."

"Hm." Umba Streak replied with just one word and a head nod.

"Head home and rest Kaleidoscope. Soon, everything will be okay. You'll have your job back and then some."

"Okay. Thank you, Queen Luminary!" Kaleidoscope thanked her before rushing off.

"You know..." Umbra went up to the queen. "If Second Wind has been orchestrating this secret society for years including the previous ones before here, there might be exhibits in this museum that have been altered, haven't they?"

"Probably. But since they've twisted history to their vision, I wouldn't say that it is all fake. Just warped. Besides, it'll give a reason for everyone to see what the Indigo Alliance used to be and what they've done." Luminary giggled.

North of Pegalysium. Cold Frontier.

Over at the north, an icy landscape could be seen. One that was as chilling as the Frozen North in Equestria. Probably because they're both in the same area.

Over here, official Pegalysium workers were working on the sky for a reason. They were preparing for winter. Pegalysium has no concept of a holiday such as Halloween or Nightmare Night. Mostly because Nightmare Moon is absent from their memories.

The pegasi in Pegalysium manipulated the clouds differently than the ones in Equestria. To allow more snow to fill the area, they had used their magical wings. They flapped their wings, causing them to glow their respective colours as they sent their auras through the clouds.

After doing so, they had all created a unified snow spell, causing the clouds to send out heaps of snow that spread across Pegalysium. Not only that but the skies too.

"There we go." A worker wearing snow clothes said. "Up until February, all this snow will be plentiful. Do you think the King would mind if we placed some near the south?"

"He would." Another worker nodded. "The south's still a pretty much-uncharted territory. Perfect for the Indigo Alliance to hide in."

"But it's kinda strange. Can't believe you brothers and even parents were a part of them?" One worker laid on her back, making a snow angel.

"Yeah, well, my parents saw him as more important than me. I didn't amount to much. That's why I became a worker for the king and he become next in line to inherit my family's fortune. But hey, at least I'm not the one imprisoned. Hehe!" He chuckled before laying on a tree.

"Wait, so does that mean you'll inherit the fortune now?" She asked as the stallion quickly kicked into realization. His mind started rapidly moving as he gasped.

"Oh yeah...!" He nodded. "Good thinking! When I get that fortune, I'm gonna buy all the Boomexploding Apples I can get! My favourite!"

"Aren't those dangerous for your stomach?"

"Well, not if you dip them in water. But they do make you burp a lot. Part of the fun."

As they had their conversation, the snow that filled the area was suddenly increasing in abundance. As well as the temperature decreasing unexpectedly. The workers here had set the temperature to 0 degrees. The standard one for snow here.

However, the temperature had decreased to nearly -60 degrees Fahrenheit. And the workers here could feel it. Even with their snowsuits, they started shivering within this chill.

"What's up with the temperature?" The worker with a noble family asked. "We put it to 0, didn't we?"

"We did." The mare replied as she looked at the comically massive thermometer they carry around. Lo and behold, it was nearly -60 degrees. "It's at...-60 degrees?! How the-"

"We can generate that much cold." Another worker came by. "Maybe something's wrong. Let's report back and see if we can-"

"F̷r̴o̷s̴l̸a̷s̴s̶." That's when the sound of a Pokemon passed through, alerting everyone to the chilling voice that echoed throughout the cold atmosphere.

This voice belonged to the Snow Land Pokemon Froslass. Her light blue eyes glowed within the cold icy smoke, staring down the ponies. The worker all gasped after seeing this sight, unsure of what creature was there. Froslass' appearance was obscured by the cold mist.

And once they looked at her, their bodies, especially their snowsuits, started breathing as Froslass kept breathing out those same chilling breaths.

"Ah!" The workers gasped, noticing how they were being encased in a prison of ice. Unable to move under Froslass' influence. They started panicking as they could not slip out of their snowsuits. The ice started from their hooves and worked its way up to their upper bodies.

Froslass was obviously going to do what it naturally does. Steal its prey and use them as decorations at its home. And these poor ponies would be victims of that. Froslass emerged from the misty ambience, appearing before the ponies.

They had never seen a Froslass before so the appropriate reaction was to scream at the top of their lungs in fear of the Snow Land Pokemon. "Aaaaaaaah!"

"Gh...!" One worker managed to work around this. The pegasus who would eventually inherit his family's will smashed his body onto the tree he laid on, breaking the ice.

He was the only free one. He then flew off as fast as he could for help. Froslass noticed this as she switched her focus to the pegasus, not allowing any prey to escape. So to make sure, she used Blizzard, increasing the abundance of snow, summoning a howling blizzard that affected the landscape.

Massive snow piles started emerging from the hill. They would act as barricades, similar to how giant boulders pile in front of a cave. But, the stallion managed to escape at the last second before the snow could fall on him.

Froslass had missed one. But, it was minuscule to the plethora she obtained. After making herself a successful catch, she used Psychic to grab them all, carrying her victims to her chilly den.

Pegalysium capital.

Snow poured as winter had started earlier for Pegalysium. Similar to how summer lasted longer in Equestria thanks to the Pokemon and their influence upon the world.

Emerging outside was Shooting Star in his snowsuit. The capital of Pegalysium had undergone some changes ever since it was revealed that a majority of the nobles here were a part of the Indigo Alliance. Many homes had been shut down instantly. Until the King and Queen can decide to do with them.

However, Shooting Star chose to hang around there since they had no owners anymore. Pegalysium certainly felt quieter than usual after those events.

"Morning, young prince." A mare said, decorating her home with the equivalent of Christmas and Hearth's Warming. They clearly have an earlier holiday leap here in Pegalysium. "Off to lounge in those homes again?"

"Yeah, Mrs Quartz Jumper. I mean, nothing interesting there, but still. There might be some neat stuff hiding in those homes."

"Hm. Better not be planning on stealing. Even if it's from a secret society?" She narrowed her eyes, pouting her lips with a judgemental look.

"Bah. I say let him." An old pony on a rocking chair spoke. "Those Indigo chumps are the reason I lost 40 years worth of free Ruby Mythrills. Take back what they took from me, young prince!" He shook his hoof with vengeance in his heart.

"Uh...I'll think about it, Mr Bassquill." Shooting Star fluttered his wings before backing up slowly. He was about to enter until he had been bumped into by a pony in a rush. "Oof!"

"Ow!" The other pony cried out. It was the pony from before that had managed to escape from Froslass. After bumping into him, the nearby guards rushed over, pointing their Dynasite spears at him. Harming royalty was obviously an offence here. "Eek!"

"Explain yourself!" The guards said with their spears right near his face.

"Hold on!" Shooting Star stood up, halting the guards. "Just a bump. That's all. No need to worry. Are you okay?" He put his hoof out for the worker.

"Fine now!" The worker grabbed the young prince's hoof before getting up. "I came here with important news! Big news! Life-threatening!"

"Sounds big for sure! What is it?!" Shooting Star gasped as the guards and even Quartz Jumper and Brassquill leaned forward.

"We were bringing about snow for this year's Coltivity over at the south!" The name of the holiday had been revealed as Coltivity. Their equivalent to Christmas or Hearth's Warming. "And then, the temperature dropped to -60 degrees!"

"-60 degrees?!" They all gaped.

"Uh-huh!" He nodded. "And then, this-this...thing came out of nowhere!" He spread his hooves out. "It was so creepy! It had a creepy-looking shape and it kept floating! And it looked like it was wearing some sort of dress! It had light blue eyes and uh...I don't know what else. It was just so weird."

"Wait." Shooting Star then squinted, looking to the sky as he felt like he could make out which Pokemon matches that description. He processed it for a moment. "Dress. Lightblue eyes. Floating...What did it sound like?"

"Uh...Well, the only thing I heard was that it said something about a lass?"

"Froslass!" The young prince exclaimed. "I remember that from Ash's Pokedex! It's Froslass!"

"Fross-who?" The old ponies said.

"Well...I guess that's its name." The worker nodded. "After it showed up, everypony else working there got turned into ice by it. I-I don't know what else happened after that. I escaped before it could catch me too with all that ice. I don't know what it's going to do with them."

"Make them into decorations." Shooting Star answered. "The Pokedex said that it brings frozen prey back to its lair and neatly lines them up. So it's definitely gone to wherever her den may be and use them all as decorations and sometimes food. Probably even eat them too!"

"We've heard all we needed to hear." The guard said. "Good job for returning safely. We'll head there, rescue them and-"

"Wait." Shooting Star stopped them. "Uhh...I think we'll need more than just heading there to rescue them. I read about Froslass in the Pokedex. It's like a hybrid between two types. Ice and Ghost."

"Ghost?" They all said.

"Mhm. This means we can't touch it. Well, when we want to touch it, she could just make herself intangible. And that's a problem."

"Oh, he's got a good point." The guards nodded. Just then, Brassquill sighed before getting off his rocking chair. He had something to say.

"I knew this day would come. Ghosts." Brassquill said.

"You have something, Mr Brassquill?" Shooting Star asked.

"Oh, no. Are you talking about those potions you keep in that eerie basement of yours, are you?" Quartz Jumper asked, groaning. "You know how overworked you get when those are brought up."

"Heh. Yeah, I do." Brassquill chuckled. "You always were creeped out about them, weren't you Quartz?"

"Wait, you actually have something for that?!" Shooting Star gasped.

"Always have something for everything. Besides. WInter's when things get weird. So I always keep some out early on the porch." Brassquill went over to a box that he kept nearby.

He opened the box as everyone leaned in. A purplish and green glow emitted from the box, shining on their faces as they all gawked. Within the box, a plethora of potions could be found, even stunning the guards who had an abundance of royal weapons.

"Sweet..." Shooting Star and the worker said.

"Hehehehe." Brassquill chuckled. "The Indigo Alliance couldn't keep this away from me. Get a load of this. Kelpie Tonic." He picked up a green potion, showing it to them all. "With this stuff, you can interact with any troublesome spirit. No problem."

"And...y-you just kept something like this the entire time?!" Quartz stuttered. "How long have you had this, Brass?!" She leaned in, wanting questions.

"Bah. The king gave 'em to me!" He scoffed. "Besides, I was like a surrogate father to him, remember? Anyway, use this and that Frost girl won't be a problem for you."

"Froslass. And thanks, Mr Brassquill." Shooting Star took the potion. "So do we drink them to make it work?"

"Drinking's for tryhards. Just pour it on you. Only lasts for 2 hours."

"Hold on, young prince. You're not thinking of coming along, are you?" The guards asked. "We can't risk putting you in any danger. The king will surely punish us for that."

"Ah, it's fine." Shooting Star flailed his hoof. "I can handle myself. Pegasus of Destiny and everything, ya know?"

"Thank you so much, young prince." The worker shook Shooting Star's hooves as thanks. "Please get my friends back."

"We will. But we'll need some extra equipment if we're going around an area with -60 degrees. And I know just the stuff." Shooting Star had wings performing a snapping motion, similar to how humans do with fingers.

South.

"Algidity suits! Full of Cyanosite and perfect for this!" Shooting Star exclaimed as he and the guards were wearing specialized snowsuits that only the Royal Guards had. These suits were made out of a spongy substance known as Cyanosite. The only thing that could withstand absurd cold temperatures such as the negatives. "These'll do perfectly. Now, where would we find a den?

"There aren't many cave systems in this part of the north." A guard said before looking around. He then shivered suddenly. "By Septimus, it is still cold here!"

"Yeah. Even these suits are struggling. That Froslass' ice must be something isn't it?" Shooting Star replied. "Okay, team! Let's go!" He then flew ahead with the guards following him.

"Who made him captain?" A guard asked her fellow guard.

"Mm. Royalty." He shrugged.

The group had moved further to the north, unsure of what to expect. Except for Shooting Star. Reading the Pokedex had helped him prepare for certain situations with Pokemon if he ends up coming across more of them.

The area had already been affected by Froslass' -58 degrees, almost -60, was fairly potent. More snow than usual could be seen. Even the lake had been frozen over from this aggressive and unforgiving chill.

They couldn't find any hoofprints or trails of ponies being dragged. This was because Froslass had carried them off the ground, making it impossible for them to find any drag trails or clues at all.

Everything was almost silent here. All of the natural animals that used to live here had fled somewhere else due to this cruel cold. The frozen lake didn't help either. There was no way they could hibernate through this. Pokemon cold far exceeds natural cold.

The pegasi flew over the heaps of snow, making sure not to cause any noise in case of an avalanche. They also observed from high up, hoping to spot any potential dens nearby.

That's when Shooting Star noticed something up ahead. A silhouette on a hill as he squinted his eyes. Everyone else soon saw this silhouette. A humanoid figure sitting on top of a snowy hill. As Shooting Star remembered, one Pokemon that does have a humanoid figure, somewhat, is Froslass. Albeit a ghostly one.

However, as they got closer, it was soon revealed that it was not Froslass. But instead, one of the Rift Humans here.

Lucien.

"A human!" Shooting Star pointed about before zooming towards Lucien. Shooting Star was hoping that Lucien might have seen Froslass somewhere and know where the den was. "Hey!"

"Hm?" Lucien looked over at the incoming pegasi. Shooting Star then stopped in front of him with Lucien scratching his hair.

"Hey. Sorry if I'm being a bother right now. But I was wondering, have you seen a Froslass anywhere? With other ponies?" Shooting Star asked.

"Oh. You're the ponies that live here?" Lucien squinted. "You certainly have unique looking wings but that's about it."

"The prince has asked a question. Answer it." The guard ordered.

"Pssh. I don't have to answer anything right now. I'm trying to think of something big here." Lucien scoffed. "A way to outdo Sienna and the alliance stuff."

"Alliance? You mean the Indigo Alliance?" Shooting Star leaned in. "And what do you mean outdo?"

"Oh, right. You guys don't know." Lucien crossed his arms as he had something to shock them with. He grinned before leaning back. "Sienna found this place, dropped some Rift Energy there and she called it a day."

"Wait...the Rift Energy found in Big Sky. That was from her?!" The guards gasped.

"Mhm. You see, we're Rift Humans. Get a load of this." Lucien raised his finger, showing a spark of Rift Energy as they all gawked. Rift Energy right before their eyes. Seems like they haven't seen the last of this form of energy. "So, all I need to do is outdo her. I mean, the whole attack on Pegalysium thing was good and all, but I bet I can do better."

"Hold on! Are you saying that you're planning on putting Pegalysium in even more danger?" That's when Shooting Star's attitude changed. If something involved harming Pegalysium then he would take immediate notice.

"Right on. A part of our little competition. I can't let her get the best of me." Lucien stood up on the hill. "I have to go beyond what she can do until I can create the best possible event!"

"Well, I don't need excuses to know what we need to do." A guard said as they all aimed their spears at Lucien.

"Eh." Lucien shrugged as he turned one of the spears into a cotton bud.

"Oh!" The guard gasped after dropping the giant cotton bud.

"Doesn't matter anyway. Soon, something's gonna happen to this nation that'll be all my work. Then I'll be better than Sienna and prove her wrong." Lucien crossed his arms. "Oh, and that Froslass? Went over there." He actually did show then where Froslass was.

Around a spiral of snow, there was a singular den amongst this chilling landscape. Only 40 miles away. After that, Lucien had suddenly vanished, disappearing to who-knows-where. "Bye!"

Got away..." The guards sighed.

"But. At least we know where they are now. Let's hurry." Shooting Star quickly rushed over to the den with the guards. They would worry about Lucien and potentially Sienna later.

Den of Froslass.

"Hah!" One of the workers gasped as she had awoken after being unconscious for a bit. Whenever Froslass gets her prey, she leaves their heads exposed at least. Everyone here had their heads exposed in Froslass' den. "Huh? What's going on?"

"Froslass." Speaking of Froslass, she was already in the process of making ice decorations for her den. She had already planned everything out and how she would like her decorations to be. "Lass."

"Ugh...this is cold..." A worker shivered. "What's that thing doing?"

"I think making decorations out of us." Another observed. "How quaint."

"Not quaint when we're the decorations!" Another roared, trying to break free. But it was no use. No one was breaking through Froslass' ice.

Froslass had placed each pony in specific areas, using some of them as totems. She even had some of them as furniture, even though she does not sit at all.

Except for her visitors. Entering the room were some Snorunt. 7 of them. They waddled their way indoors as the workers watched these little monsters walk by. "Snorunt. Sno-Sno."

"What are those things...?" A burly worker gawked.

"Aww...they're so cute." Another gushed. The Snorunt were the reason for the decorations. If anything, they were not visitors, but rather family to Froslass.

Once they arrived, Froslass had used Powder Snow to write something on the walls. Everypony watched as Froslass had written the words Happy Birthday Snorunt.

Although it was unclear as to which Snorunt it was.

"Birthday? Is that what this is?" A disgruntled worker spoke.

"Oooh...We're the decorations. All for its children? That's sweet, isn't it?"

"Yeah if we weren't being hung up right now." A worker groaned, lowering her head.

"Froslass, Fros." Froslass had then looked at one of the ponies, preparing a Will-O-Wisp. She had summoned a sinister, bluish-white flame from her hands.

"Eeek! W-What's she gonna do with that?!" The pony gulped.

"Oh. Guess we know who's the birthday cake, huh?" A smug worker chuckled.

"You're only laughing cause you're not gonna get eaten! Someone help!" He squirmed, trying to shatter the ice by banging his head on it.

"Lass. Fros?" But before Froslass could do so, she noticed something was wrong. She looked at the Snorunt, counting them each. "Fros-Lass-Fross-Lass-Fross-Lass-Fros-" That's when she realized something.

One was missing.

The one that had a birthday today. "Fros?! Froslass?!" Froslass ended WIll-O Wisp before being sent into a panicking frenzy. She lifted her decorations, searching for Snorunt anywhere if it was hiding. But it was not here.

"What now?" A worker asked.

"Looks like it's looking for something. Guess this party's gonna be postponed for a bit."

"Oh thank goodness..." The pony that was bound to be a Birthday Cake let out a sigh of relief.

"Froslass!" Froslass knew that Snorunt was now officially missing. And she couldn't allow that to continue. Wanting one of her own to be safe, the Snow Land Pokemon chose to venture off and find the eighth one. "Lass!" But not before telling the others to stay and behind and not move a muscle.

"Snorunt." The Snorunt sat down, waiting patiently for Froslass to return. And now, silence filled the den as time went by. But not before one of the ponies had an idea.

"Psst. Hey. Little guys." She whispered and called for the Snorunt.

"Sno?" The 7 of them looked over.

"I know your uh...who's that your caretaker or family member? Friend? Whoever that may be, is out and looking for something. But...ya think you could get us out of here? Please?" She pleaded.

"Runt?"

"We kinda have places to be right now. Lives to live. I'm sure uh...whoever's birthday will be a blast, but our co-worker here would rather not be food. I mean, he always adds Coacoberries to his baths so he probably tastes good." She chuckled.

"You're not helping!" He bellowed.

"So please? Let us go. If it's any better, we'll wish you a happy birthday and bring a gift over, eh? Eh?" She nudged her head, trying to convince the Snorunt.

"Sno..." The Snorunt then looked at each other, contemplating what they should do. They then huddled, discussing among themselves. "Snorunt. Sno-Sno."

Now the ponies had to wait for an answer.

Meanwhile, Shooting Star and the guards were approaching the den eventually. However, as they got closer, the abundance of snow became greater, making it harder to see through all of it and even harder to fly.

The group had to go on hoof as the winds were blowing them out of the sky. A shame that they could use their natural advantages thanks to this snow. Even these advanced snowsuits were struggling.

"Oh geez...!" Shooting Star groaned before putting on some goggles. "This is the most snow I've seen in Pegalysium! How long till we're there?"

"I can't see much through this snow, young prince!" A guard said, trying to squint through. He almost tripped over a rock because of the ridiculous amount of snow. "It may take us more than an hour to get there!"

"An hour isn't enough! They could be eaten by now!" Shooting Star replied as the wind intensity was increasing. They could barely move forward any further.

With the wind pushing them back and the area becoming nothing but a white canvas, the group was starting to separate from each other. Their vision had become obscured from all of this. Even the sound of the aggressive snow blocked out all hearing.

"Guys?!" Shooting Star cried out before hearing nothing but aggressive wind. No one responded. He was now lost with no one by his side. The young prince could also barely maintain himself with his hooves being threatened by the harsh winds.

That is until he used his magic. Being Royalty meant that Shooting Star had excellent magic potential. He was able to make it so that he could sustain himself in the environment for a bit, even if it wasn't enough.

Shooting Star looked around, walking through the snowy landscapes to see nothing but white and an occasional blue. He sighed, knowing that time was being delayed further at this point. "Great. Just our luck."

"Runt! Snorunt!" Just then, the cry of a Snorunt could be heard nearby, alternating the young pegasus. Shooting Star turned around to see a Snorunt running this way. "Snorunt!"

"A Snorunt?"

"Sno!" Unfortunately for Snorunt, even though it is a Pokemon meant to live in icy and snowy areas, it was still little and fragile. Thus, it struggled to move in the snow. And from how much was blowing, Snorunt was bound to be blown away without any control. "Runt!"

But thankfully, Shooting Star saved the Snow Hat Pokemon by using running over and grabbing it. Right in the nick of time before a great distance could be made. "Gotcha!"

"Sno?" Snorunt looked up to see the young prince holding him. That spell came into good use for having him withstand the unforgiving cold.

"You okay? I mean, I know this is your natural habitat but this is kind of excessive, don't you think?"

"Snorunt."

"But...everyone's been separated from me. I don't even know if I'm going the right way anymore."

"Runt! Snorunt!" Snorunt nudged Shooting Star, trying to tell him something.

"Hm? What is it?" He asked.

"Snorunt! Sno-Snorunt-runt! Sno!"

"Uhh...Sorry. I don't speak Pokemon." He grinned nervously. "Wish I could understand you."

"Snorunt." Snorunt sighed before putting on a serious face. The Snow Hat Pokemon then pointed her hand forward, telling Shooting Star to move ahead. While he could not understand Pokemon speech, gestures were not out of the question.

"Ahead? You know a safe way?"

"Runt!" She nodded.

"Okay." Shooting Star then followed Snorunt' s directions. Even if the wind was harsh and Snorunt could barely move in it, she still remembered her way through this area either way.

And she most definitely knew of a way to a safe place. AKA, the den of Froslass.

And speaking of Froslass, she could move through the cold and cruel environment, no problem. Her body was more fit for this than Snorunt, even if Froslass also somewhat fragile in her her own way.

As she searched through the snow, that was when she spotted the guards. "Lass?" She looked over, seeing them wondering the cold open with no direction. Froslass knew she could just turn them to ice right now and add new decorations.

But Snorunt came before everything else.

The guards soon noticed the Froslass through the snow, spotting the Snow Land Pokemon. They squinted their eyes, processing her appearance as she matched what Shooting Star and the worker said. "Ah! That's Froslass!" The guards exclaimed

"Froslass?"

"After her!" They then chased after the Ice-Ghost-type to hopefully reach the captured ponies.

"Froslass!" Not taking kindly to this response, Froslass had used Blizzard, sending a gigantic whirlwind of ice in their direction. The moment the guards went close, they were stopped in their tracks.

"!" They felt an extra chill course through their body. Thankfully, the Dynasite armour they wore had granted them resistance. Coupled with the snowsuits they were wearing, they were able to resist Blizzard and being frozen. But they were still pushed back. "Woah!"

"Lass!" Froslass then used Shadow Ball, tossing a blob of shadows at them. They had been struck by the Ghost-Type move as their snowsuits had taken damage. Unfortunately, those were not resistant to the Pokemon moves like Dynasite. With the suits damaged, that means their resistance to ice had been diminished.

Seeing that they had been struck, the guards used their wings to hold the spears. Their spears all had the Kelpie Tonic on the tips, allowing them to interact with Froslass. However, Froslass had used Psychic to remove their spears, moving them towards her.

"Oh, that's just not fair!" A guard groaned as Froslass used their spears against them. She sent the Dynasite spears at the original users, causing the grunts to run off in fear.

With great aim, Froslass could hit them. The spears connected with their armour, shattering the Dynasite around them. The guards gasped, seeing that parts of their Dynasite armour had been damaged. That was not a good sign. Especially in this atmosphere.

After doing so and with parts of them exposed, Froslass used Blizzard once more, sending another whirlwind. And this time, it could freeze her prey. Their exposed parts had been caught up in Blizzard. Especially their hooves which had been hit by the spears. Soon, Froslass had new decorations for Snorunt's birthday.

If she could find her.

"Runt!" Snorunt could smell Froslass nearby, encouraging Shooting Star to change directions to the west instead. She nudged her head that way.

"West this time? Okay! If you say so!" Shooting Star nodded.

Meanwhile, as Froslass thought she had new prey, one pegasus was fairly sneaky, hiding in the snow and waiting for the right moment to catch Froslass off guard. And she certainly did, creeping up from a snow hill.

"Gotcha!" The guard jumped from the hill, lunging and grabbing onto Froslass. Thanks to that tonic, she could interact with the Ice-Ghost-Type.

"Lass?!" Froslass gasped before wriggling around. The guard did not let go as she made sure to hold on tight.

"Tell us where you sent them!" She demanded. One of the guards leaned forward, using his mouth to grab the spear. Since not all the Dynasite armour was destroyed, his wings were still free. He used his wings to hold the spear, aiming them at Froslass.

"F-Fros...Lass!" Froslass then used Blizzard on herself, creating another violent whirlwind. The pegasus then threw the spear, only for it to be blown away by the spiral of ice and snow.

As for the pegasus on her, she closed her eyes, trying to maintain her hold. But it wasn't enough. She was eventually knocked off when Froslass decided to merge Blizarrd with Psychic.

"Ah!" She gasped before crashing into the snow hill. The Dynasite armour cushioned the impact, making it barely hurt at all. They were nigh-indestructible with this material.

"F-Fros..." Froslass panted, shaking her head before realizing how much time she was wasting. She looked at the guards with seething anger, just wanting to find Snorunt.

But the guards just wanted to rescue the ponies that had been captured. The pony that had been tossed away used her Dynasite spear to shatter the ice, freeing the ponies. Froslass was ready to manipulate the spears once more and put an end to this.

"Snorunt!" That was when the voice of Snorunt called out. Froslass promptly stopped what she was about to do before responding to this familiar voice.

"Froslass?" She spoke before looking to the side. So did the guards. Appearing through the white canvas of snow was a silhouette. Two of them.

One belonged to Shooting Star and the other to Snorunt. Thanks to Snorunt's senses, she could find Froslass even through the snow.

"Young prince!" The guards exclaimed.

"Froslass!" So did Froslass.

"Sno! Snorunt!" Snorunt hopped out of Shooting Star's hold before leaping through the air at impressive heights. But she soon remembered how harsh the wind was. Thankfully, Froslass' Psychic caught her. They then embraced each other with loving hugs. "Snorunt!"

"Fros! Froslass!"

"Yeesh. What happened here?" Shooting Star helped free the others by also using the Dynasite spears to break the ice. "Everything okay? Did you find the others?"

"No. Sadly." The guard shook her head. "And you, young prince?"

"I think I came here to bring Snorunt back to Froslass over there. Looks happy to be back"

"Runt!" Snorunt then turned to Shooting Str with a happy smile. Shooting Star replied with an approving nod. But, Froslass still saw the others as enemies, ready to use Psychic. "Snorunt!" But, Snorunt quickly stopped her.

Snorunt could see that the guards were with Shooting Star. And considering Shooting Star helped her meet up with her mother, he was not hostile. Snorunt convinced her not to harm the others.

"Fros...Froslass." Since it was Snorunt's birthday, her wish was her command. Froslass knew what had to be done next. The remaining ponies at her den.

"We still want answers about everypony else." A guard said to Shooting Star.

"I got it." Shooting Star walked up to the Snow Land Pokemon. "Uh, excuse me, Ms Froslass. Sorry if my guards here caused trouble. We're just looking for some workers that came by here earlier. We think you may have them. If so, could you please bring them back?"

"Runt. Snorunt."

"Froslass." Froslass agreed to that request. It was mainly Snorunt's request anyway.

Back at the den, the other Snorunt were still discussing. They had yet to finish even after all of this time. Some ponies had fallen asleep in the process.

"Zzzz...."

"Geez...How long are they gonna talk? Just make up your mind!" A worker bellowed.

"You're not helping pal." Another sighed. "Things like these take time."

"Not this much time!" He clapped back at her. "I'm hungry. We were supposed to go on lunch right about now. I just wanna eat my Buttered Salt-Crusted Horseradish Onion and Spinach Asparagus with Cream sauce." He sighed with sadness in his voice.

"Uh...Maybe it's best you stay here." A worker replied after hearing that food choice.

"I know! Speaking of food, let's just eat our way through! I'll start!" A rambunctious worker started eating the ice, trying what she could to break free. But the moment she took the first bite, her teeth and tongue felt cold, causing her to pause. "C-Cold!"

"Froslass!" Returning to the den was Froslass herself. But with guests. Appearing in were the Pegalysium guards, the last Snorunt and Prince Shooting Star.

"Prince Shooting Star!" The workers said with happiness in their hearts and eyes. Froslass had used Psychic to control the Dynasite spears, poking the ice and shattering them.

The workers trapped on the wall had been freed, dropping flat on their faces before the Snorunt broke up their lengthy discussion. "Runt?"

"Sno! Snorunt!" The 8th Snorunt ran over to her siblings, twirling around in the process too. She then started jumping and dancing happily with her siblings after a reunion.

"Glad everyone is okay." Shooting Star helped one of them off the ground. "That could've gone worse, couldn't it?"

"I'll say. Feels like I'm in space with this chill." A worker shivered. "Can we head home please?"

"Sno! Snorunt!" Snorunt walked up to Shooting Star, grabbing his attention. Snorunt then jumped up and down, pointing over at the Happy Birthday plastered on the wall via Powder Snow. Shooting Star could tell what she was saying since ehe's been in this situation before.

"Oh. You want us to stay behind for your birthday?"

"Snorunt!" She nodded.

"That'd be great. But I should really get everyone back home. They're cold and shivering. Plus, staying behind here won't do our health any good. You understand, right?" Shooting Star explained.

"Sno.." A disappointed sigh met her heart as she lowered her head. But she understood that their health was more important.

"But Happy Birthday either way." He patted her on the head. "And hey. At least you found yourself a new home here in Pegalysium. I think you're the first Pokemon to live here. Well, the ones we've found anyway."

"Snorunt."

"If it makes you feel any better, how about we come and visit each other from time eto time? Okay?"

"Snorunt!" Snorunt liked the sound of that as she hugged Shooting Star on the face, making him chuckle.

Froslass bowed to the ponies, apologizing for her trouble. She just wanted decorations for her child's birthday. But she took it too far. Then again, Froslass do tend to do this a bit. Shooting Star would accept their apology himself.

Afterwards, they bid each other farewell, wishing Snorunt a happy birthday. Shooting Star and Snorunt would see each other again after making this promise.

New bonds are made even high above the skies in distant lands. But these bonds are natural and nothing new. Yet effective always. And for Pegalysium and Pokemon, it all starts with Shooting Star and Snorunt as the journey continues.
