A Hero for two sides

Equestria. Manehattan. The Pokemon Festival. Afternoon.

The massive city of Manehattan. Made even bigger with the Pokemon Festival ongoing. As always, this festival was a way to bring everyone closer. But, it had a second reason. To catch Galaxy Master.

Speaking of Galaxy Master, he was here.

The fictional character who had emerged into reality was present within Manehattan. But he was currently under disguise along with his partner Pikachu. Their disguise consisted of two long coats. At least, as long as their respective bodies. Pikachu's coat was relatively short. Galaxy Master had also put on a hat, attempting to shield his face, but going undercover in a superhero costume was difficult, no doubt.

Galaxy Master looked at the newspaper, seeing the ruckus that he and his Pokemon had caused so far. He's made quite a name for himself for only one day since last week.

"Great Nebulas!" Galaxy Master gasped at the sight of the news. "It seems our existence in this world is all too vast now to be ignored, my yellow friend."

"Pika..."

"This brings new problems that we could do without. However, we must continue despite this severe disadvantage. Justice cannot afford to worry about the disadvantages that evil gives us."

"Pikachu!"

"But...getting some Rift Energy is also harder than it looks, despite the massive abundance of it. The Rift told us that its power had been formed into various entities and objects. One of them was a mysterious stone that allows one to change their appearance. That's what we could use, Pikachu."

"Pika?"

"Of course...we'll have to find one first. Let's see if we can at least find something here. Come along!" Galaxy Master and Pikachu would advance. But instead of running or even walking, they would shimmy. They dug their hands into their pockets, dancing to the side while looking suspicious despite trying not to be.

They left the back alley before arriving at the streets in public. Galaxy Master had pulled his hat down so far that it completely replaced his head, making him look like a sentient hat and jacket. On the plus side, his face was completely masked.

A colt laughed, pointing his hoof at them both due to their silly movements. His mother pulled him away before secretly laughing as well. They moved through the festival with this shimmy, trying to look as unassuming as possible.

The duo looked around for any trace of Rift Energy, searching high and low. Galaxy Master did unnecessary but stylish backflips to reach places. He shuffled past some attractions, poking his head in places to find anything. However, during his search, something stopped him immediately.

He heard crying. Galaxy Master froze on the spot once he heard the sound of someone crying. To him, that garnered massive attention, no matter what.

"A cry for help!" Galaxy Master exclaimed, standing tall. He put everything aside just to respond to this cry. The fictional character had then zoomed in the direction of the cry, leaving behind a dust trail. He was off to the scene.

The sound of that crying came from a young pony who was with her group of friends. She was also with her mother, who was trying to comfort her. "There's always the next Pokemon Festival, so don't worry dear." The mother said.

"Hup! What seems to be the problem?!" Galaxy Master appeared in a heartbeat, startling the others.

"Pikachu?"

"Gah! W-Who are you?!" The mother pulled back. However, the daughter wasn't as surprised. Anything to gain some help was desperately needed for her.

"I-I couldn't get that in time...That chariot..." She raised her hoof, aiming at the sky as there was a chariot flying away. This chariot was carrying what seemed to be a Deluxe Ice Cream, but the poor little girl had missed it, deleting her chances of having that deluxe ice cream.

"Sucks that none of us are pegasi..." One of her friends uttered, shaking her head.

"I see. Worry not. I'll get you some of that." Galaxy Master put everything aside for this one objective.

"R-Really?" The girl sniffled.

"I'm sorry, who are you? You look shady." The mother was cautious.

"Wait there! Quickly, he and Pikachu had rushed off to catch that chariot." He was once again narrating his own actions and everything else. He and Pikachu did indeed rush off, but they would have to take to the skies first if they were to catch that chariot.

Luckily, Galaxy Master had just the POkemon for that. But, he preferred to make things more dramatic, jumping from building to building as he became a blur and red blur from his movements.

"I can't get there by jumping really high. But I have a solution for that! With a blazing glory! Come to me! Dragon of the Mighty flames! Charizard!" He raised his arm into the air, summoning his Charizard.

Flying through the skies, Charizard had appeared, diving down to meet his trainer. Galaxy Master did another stylish flip with Pikachu latching on. And with immaculate timing, he managed to get on Charizard's back on time.

"Get us to that chariot, my flaming friend!"

"Charizard!" Charizard would do just that. And swiftly as well. The Flame Pokemon zoomed through the skies, heading for the chariot. Of course, Galaxy Master was greatly wanted now. And any sign of him was crucial, especially his Charizard, who had been seen by Luna along with his Pikachu.

Guards from Canterlot were now more present than ever, and when seeing a Charizard and a Pikachu in the air, they took immediate action.

"Hold it!" Galaxy Master shouted as Charizard reached the chariot, startling the ponies in the air.

"Gah!" The pegasi all gasped.

"I'd like to purchase one of your Deluxe Ice Creams!" Galaxy Master ordered an ice cream just for the young girl.

"Pika. Pikachu." But Pikachu was also curious about it, nudging Galaxy Master's shoulder.

"Make that two."

"W-Well...it's free during the Pokemon Festival. I can't believe you flew all the way up here even though we're leaving already." The pegasus explained as he shrugged. "Plus, it's already the afternoon and we have to-"

"So soon?!" Galaxy Master raised his voice, causing the pegasus to squeak. "No. For such a festive time, the youth must experience happiness at all costs. Leaving so soon with such an attractive item is far too much."

"I-Is it now?" She stuttered. "I guess you have a point there. We were thinking about heading to Ponyville next but...if it's just one more ice cream, we can spare some extra time."

"Splendid!" Galaxy Master loved to hear it as he was given two Deluxe Ice Creams. One of them was passed on to Pikachu to enjoy. "Carry on then. Onwards, Charizard! Make sure you don't melt the ice cream.

"Charizard!"

A successful side objective. Galaxy Master went ut of his way to make one child happy. By getting her this Deluxe Ice Cream that she desperately wanted. The girl sniffled while the mother was still processing what had just happened. Afterwards, the girl, her mother and her friends look up to see Galaxy Master returning. And in his hands, he had that ice cream.

"You got it!"

"Comet Pass!" Charizard came swooping in, as Galaxy Master passed the ice cream to the little filly. She had an overjoyed look on her face as she did get her chance after all. The filly wouldn't have to wait for the next festival.

"Well, he's odd but nice." The mother said as she wasn't too creeped out by Galaxy Master. Not after how he went high up just to get her daughter what she wanted.

"Thank you!" The little girl exclaimed.

"You're welcome! Enjoy your summer treat. Now, I must go. There is someone else who needs my help."Galaxy Master spoke as the girl would enjoy her ice cream to the fullest.

"Aha! There you are!" The guards spotted Galaxy Master as he ended up right where he started when aiming for that ice cream.

"That's my cue. Off we go, Charizard!"

"Charizard!" Charizard was off, fleeing from the Canterlot guards. The guards would use their Golurk to catch up to Charizard. The Golurk immediately used their jet boosters to pursue the fictional character.

And thus, a chase ensued.

The Golurks pursued Charizard through Manehattan, immediately grabbing the attention of others. Charizard flew over some decorations while also spinning through a ring just to pull off a trick. The Golurk had used Shadow Punch to try and catch Charizard, using shadow hands that extended, reaching the Flame Pokemon. Charizard had ignited his tail with a greater flame, burning away the hands that attempted to grab him, forcing the Golurk to retract their arms.

"Hm?!" Galaxy Master then noticed that more Golurks had appeared up ahead, blocking Charizard from heading forward and cutting him off. "Brute force it is! Charizard! Spin, my friend!"

"Char!" Charizard nodded as Galaxy Master and Pikachu held on for dear life. Pikachu laced the entire ice cream in his mouth so that it wouldn't drop. Only until Charizard's spinning was over. Charizard started spinning while approaching the barricade of Golurks. However, the Golurks would retaliate by using Shadow Punch consecutively. Charizard combined his spinning with Flamethrower, forming a spiral of flames around his body. It was getting harder for Pikachu to keep the ice cream as he and Galaxy Master had to endure the flames.

Since Shadow Punch failed, the Golurk all come together to hold Charizard with their bare hands. Charizard crashed into one of them, only for that Golurk to hold him back. This allowed the other Golurk to fly in.

"I think not! Andromeda Shine!" Galaxy Master suddenly stood up tall, deciding to help out his Charizard since the Golurks were starting to gain the edge.

"Oh, that's bright!" The guards cried out as they covered their eyes along with the Golurks. This light was beautiful to look at as it was powerful against those who were close to it. Those that weren't close to it could look at this beautiful light show.

"Now, my friend! Charge through!"

With brute force, Charizard barged through the blockade of Golurks by overpowering the Shadow Punches. He pointed to the sky, pulling off another pose as the ethereal stars on his cape came into play. The stars on his cape suddenly emitted a radiant light.

Charizard managed to gauge some distance between himself and the Golurks thanks to Galaxy Master's light. But the Golurk would persist. Galaxy Master chose not to engage in a massive conflict, especially here. He aimed to get away from them. And there was one location that he set his sights on.

The Bridleway Theater.

Charizard made a sharp turn as the Golurk and the guards were just now recovering from that blinding light. Galaxy Master recalled Charizard, making him vanish in a puff of astral energy before heading into Bridleway Theater at the speed of sound.

The Bridleway Theater.

The guards continued to follow him with some of them arriving at Bridleway Theater while the rest had gone to other locations. They lost sight of his location, so relying on random areas was the best they could do.

Currently, at the Bridleway Theater, there was a play going on. It was orchestrated by a younger group of ponies who were reenacting the Invasion of Equestria. It was a fairly enjoyable theatre play as the children had given it their all to make it as fun as it could be. From the costumes, the set and everything else.

The guards who entered here couldn't see anything wrong as everyone was laughing and having a good time. In reality, Galaxy Master had snuck in here and was already playing one of the parts unknowingly to everyone. He and Pikachu had managed to disguise themselves as one of the Pokemon apart of the invasion.

Pikachu dressed up as a Pachirisu while Galaxy Master appeared as one of the Golurk, standing still while the children went crazy, running around to replicate the various battles that were said to have happened. The Golurk costume was the only thing properly hiding his appearance.

The guards then left Bridleway Theater, finding nothing here. And once the guards left, in a burst of speed, the Golurk costume and the Pachirisu costume had been emptied out in the blink of an eye, dropping to the ground. No one had noticed it yet until it had happened.

They left the scene, standing behind Bridleway Theater as they were in the clear for now. But being in Manehattan was not safe for them.

"Success, my yellow friend. I believe it's time we left here. Let's return to our mighty Star Tower for now."

"Pikachu."

Whereabouts unknown. The Star Tower. Underground. Afternoon.

The tower had been placed underground, shielded from the eyes of Equestria. The location of this underground was unknown. Only Galaxy Master and Pikachu knew where and how to reach it.

They had returned to their tower which was a vibrant azure colour, resembling that of Aura. Their base of operations had objects that were mainly essential to Pokemon and not to Galaxy Master himself. Though, there was a bedroom for resting and a kitchen for eating.

"Alright. Manehattan will have to wait." Galaxy Master sat on his chair which he had then spun. "We'll return there later...but we at least know of which areas have Rift Energy. Thanks to this board." He then aimed his arm at a board that was placed near the windows.

This board had a lot to offer. Mainly about every known source of Rift Energy thanks to what the Rift had shared. Images of various faces belonging to multiple individuals could be seen. Twilight Sparkle. Bayleef. Equestrian Axew. Cold Colt. Lucien. Sienna. Emerald Aura, King Paramount, Second Wind and almost everyone since they had Desires in them. However, some of these Desires had been defeated thanks to Princess Celestia and the others, making their existence diminish over time.

It wasn't individuals. Objects and locations counted as well. He had pictures of the Rift Cauldron, the Rift Volcano which was also sentient. The Arcane Sea, Travel Spheres and so much more.

"It's a lot to do. But we can make it happen. Retrieving the Travel Spheres are self-explanatory. But how does one remove Rift Energy from another? That's the serious question." Galaxy Master pondered

"Pikachu..."

"Right. We'll have to figure that out as well. The Rift didn't give us any pointers about that. For now, we have to focus on where to go next. We could get some more Travel Spheres and we could also focus on there! That location!" He pointed at the image of the Arcane Ocean. By far, the biggest source of Rift Energy that exists. It was an entire ocean full of Rift Energy.

"Pika?"

"Yes! It's off to the Unova Region, Pikachu!"

Unova. Mistralton City. Afternoon.

Ash, the two Twilights, Rainbow Dash Hilbert and Hilda had shown up in Mistralton City after leaving Castelia. Their goal to find an Elite 4 Member so that Rainbow Dash could challenge them was on.

But before they could do that, over at Mistralton City, they distracted themselves with the other activities that could be found here. One of which being this massive rope that extended from Mistralton to one of the routes. It was a massive Tug of War game. The biggest they had seen so far. It stretched far and wide.

"This might be the biggest Tug of War game ever," Hilda observed the rope. "You'd need at least 100 humans, ponies and Pokemon to pull this thing. Or...maybe a Machamp can sort that out."

"Would you like to take part in it?" An employee asked. "We're already getting started with it, so now's your chance."

"We're gonna join, for sure." Ash agreed to it along with his friends.

"Bah. It doesn't look so tough." Hilbert touched the rope. "I bet my Emboar can pull this thing no problem. Let's do this."

"Great. Just get on whichever side you feel comfortable with."

They did just that. Partaking in this attraction, many Pokemon Trainers and their Pokemon gathered to try and see who could win this game of tug and war with this large rope. There was a good chance that it would be so strong that neither side would manage to get far. But that waits to be seen.

Ash and the others stood on the right while their opponents stood on the left, ready to pull away. They had some heavy hitters there in the form of Fighting-Types, Ground and Rock-Types. Relatively strong Pokemon.

"That looks tough..." Twilight observed. "They have the right Pokemon for the job."

"It's nothing." Hilbert scoffed. "Listen up, all of you!" He then shouted at his opponents. "Don't think you're gonna win this because you've got the most number of Pokemon that are right for the job. I, Hilbert Blair, the number one Trainer and his subordinates are gonna win this!"

"Subordinates?" Hilda, Twilight and Rainbow Dash repeated. They didn't expect to be called that.

"Oh, right. You're my student, Rainbow Dash." Hilbert added.

"That doesn't make it any better...And I'm still not your student!"

"You talk big. But can you win within a best of three?" One of the opponents replied.

"Best of three?" Hilbert repeated.

"That's right. If either side wins twice, it'll be over. This way, it gives everyone a second try if they feel they haven't done their best." The employee explained.

"Hmm...They could bust out some new Pokemon right afterwards." Hilbert pondered before snapping his fingers. "Alright. Game plan! I'll sit this one out! Hilda. You're gonna have to try and win this one. Rainbow Dash, Twilights, try and lose the next one and I'll swoop in and win the third one and finish it. Easy."

"Hang on! Is that even a real strategy?! Why do I have to take the fall?!" Rainbow Dash roared.

"That sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me." Twilight shook her head.

"Of course, you'd come up with that..." Hilda sighed, facepalming with visible veins appearing on her head.

"Ash, try and back me up," Hilbert asked.

"Uh, sure. Not sure about the second one though." Ash nodded.

"There isn't gonna be a fall-out in the second one! Hilbert, you're playing through it all!" Hilda grabbed Hilbert's shoulder, gripping it with immense strength that made Hilbert shudder. "Got that?!"

"Ow-ow-ow! G-Got it! But it'd be cooler if I was last..."

After that discussion, they sent out their Pokemon as assistance. Hilbert brought out both his Emboar and his Hydreigon. Hydreigon had used all three of its head to grip onto the robe while Emboar's brute strength was self-explanatory. Ash would use Lucario, Dragonite and Dracovish. He was betting on Dracovish's fangs.

Hilda had shown her Pokemon. Which turned out to be Serperior, Simisage and Haxorus. An impressive lineup indeed as Haxorus had the physical strength to match up with Fighting-Types.

"Ah. Just one last thing to add." The employee raised her finger. "On both sides, you'll have a powerful Pokemon at the very end of the rope helping you out. Over at Route 7 for the left side, there's a Conkeldurr and on the outskirts of Mistralton, there's a Throh for the right side. Just so you know. Is everyone ready?"

"Dracovish's fangs are gonna do it for us, no doubt," Ash said. "Those apex predator fangs are no joke."

"That's a Pokemon...?" Hilda wasn't sure what she was looking at as the appearance of Dracovish made her uneasy.

"Ready...Go!" The game had begun. The biggest Tug of War game with the most contestants. They each put their full strength into this with noises flooding the area. The sheer force of the Fighting-Types were already being shown off as one side had more Fighting-Types and physically stronger Pokemon. The left side was beginning to win, but the right side wasn't making it easy.

"Draco...Dracovish!" Dracovish's expression had changed to a serious one as it ended up digging its fans through the rope, pulling it back from the left side. Emboar had grunted, helping to bring it back as well. However, with this intense struggle, some of them would obviously give out and were unable to continue.

Some Pokemon Trainers and their Pokemon had fallen over from this intense struggle, diminishing the numbers. Meanwhile, from the very ends of each side, Throh and Conkeldurr were also giving it their all, barely able to see what was happening up ahead thanks to the comically long rope. Hydreigon had also dug its teeth into the rope, much like Dracovish.

"My hands are burning! Ow!" Sci-Twi moved her hands away, giving up as they were smoking. She blew on them before shaking them. She was out of here. Serperior had constricted the rope with her body while both Pikachus were gritting their teeth in this fierce struggle.

"Come on...!" Ash and Hilbert growled. Zoroark had transformed into Emboar to try and replicate that strength, giving the right side an advantage.

"Dravo...Vish!" But then, with a surprising turnout, one Pokemon managed to beat them all out. Everyone except one Pokemon had fallen over. Both sides fell over but the rope mainly leaned to the right side.

Dracovish had won it for them. But not only did Dracovish win the entire thing, but it had also snapped the rope in half from its bite, showing off how mighty its jaws were. Not even Pokemon with powerful arms could beat it out. But the force of Dracovish's fangs left a messy outcome. Others went flying once Dracovish pulled the rope back.

"Gaaah!" Ash and Hilbert went rolling down a hill thanks to Dracovish whilst Twilight and Hilda landed facefirst.

"Oh my..." The employee said as the rope had been split in half. That essentially ended the entire game since the bulk of it was gone, making its length non-existent. "T-The winner is the right side. The rest of the rope is gone so...I guess that's it."

"Great job, Dracovish!" Ash cried out while rolling away. His voice was fading away.

"What about my cool finish?!" Hilbert also cried out, rolling with Ash. They were most definitely going to crash in the massive acres of plants nearby, ruining such a wonderful lineup.

But that didn't happen. An invisible force had knocked Hibert out of the way, causing him to be sent flying. On the bright side, the plants would be fine. "Oh come on!" Hilbert shouted as Hydreigon quickly flew after him whilst Emboar was still recovering.

As for Ash, he had been stopped abruptly before his body could even touch the plants. Another invisible force had outlined him in a pink aura, stopping him from going any further.

"Oooh...Nice save, Twilight." Ash said to Twilight, believing that this was her aura. But Twilight's aura was purple.

"Uh, Ash. That's not me." Twilight shook her head.

"Oh? Yeah, it's pink actually. Then who's this?" Ash wondered before standing up. The outline had vanished right afterwards.

"Tini!"

"Melo!"

Just then, two voices had cried out to Ash with echoes. These voices were gentle and familiar, kicking up some memories in Ash's head. He froze for a bit, remembering these voices as he turned around. "Hang on...Is that?"

Victini and Meloetta.

They had made their second appearance at the third annual Pokemon Festival. This time, both of them were in the same area as it was Meloetta who had caught Ash while Vicitni had blown Hilbert away. Two Mythical Pokemon had revealed themselves, just for Ash, hiding behind the plants.

"Hang on...is that-" Hilbert recognized them before landing in the nearby lake. Victini and Meloetta had greeted their close friend once more while Hilda was just as starstruck as Hilbert.

Now that both of them were here, this Pokemon Festival was certainly shaping up to be not just longer than the previous two, but now far more interesting. With Galaxy Master, the vampires and now Meloetta and Victini present, anything could happen as the journey continues.
