Unicorn Squabble and the Unstoppable Gelidity

Equestria. Appleloosa Contest Hall. Afternoon.

The Pokemon Contest over at Appleloosa was underway and nearing its end considering the current ongoings within. Sweetie Belle, Gelidity, Premium Polish and the other coordinators inside were shooting for that Appleloosa ribbon, but after the Appeal Stage, only eight of them made it. Sweetie Belle, Gelidity and Premium Polish were among those eight. The three of them are looking ahead. Getting that fifth ribbon meant getting closer to the Grand Festival.

Gelidity finished her matchup quickly by utilizing both her Ninetales and Nidoqueen to come out on top. The coordinators kept a close eye on Gelidity's performance to see how they could overcome her. But, Gelidity is one unpredictable pony, that's for certain. She won't stick to the same tricks at all.

After winning her match, the other two coordinators of the first bracket had gone against each other. And in the meanwhile, Sweetie Belle was going over her plan with Meowstic and Piplup again. But as she did so, Plusle and Minun emerged from their Poke Balls, begging Sweetie Belle for her to use them.

"Plus! Plusle!"

"Minun-Min!"

"Hm?" Sweetie Belle looked at the duo of Electric-Types and how they were flailing their arms about. You two wanna go next?"

"Minun-Minun!"

"Ah, sorry. I kinda already planned for Meowstic and Piplup to go next, ya know?"

"Plus..."

"Min..." They both lowered their ears in disappointment as Meowstic gave a sassy grin. That one grin made the two of them twitch. Before, she was practically emotionless and static as an Espurr. But as a Meowstic, her attitude had risen to the absolute max.

Plusle and Minun both growled as they knew Meowstic was rubbing it in their faces. And Sweetie Belle noticed this. Evolution really does make certain Pokemon change in personality from the looks of it.

"Now, now You'll get your chance in our sixth contest, okay?" Sweetie Belle tried to calm them down. "And Meowstic. I know you're different in this form but please try to be a bit nicer?"

"Meowstic."

"Okay. We're up in 5 minutes. I can't wait! My fifth Ribbon here I come!"

Those 5 minutes went by after a victor had been decided for the top bracket. After that, it was time for the bottom bracket to have a go at things. And first up was Sweetie Belle vs Premium Polish. The two unicorns immediately made their way to the stage with their selected Pokemon.

"Now, it's time for the bottom bracket of our coordinators to go at it!" Marian spoke. "To my right, Sweetie Belle! And to my left, Premium Polish!"

"Okay! She just has to win this one and she can move on!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed. "Go-go, Sweetie Belle!"

"She won by time against Premium last time. But I'm confident she can beat her without time at all in this one." Rarity nodded with confidence in her heart.

"Show them what you're made of, Sweetie Belle!" Scootaloo and Apple Bloom bellowed, cheering for their best friend in the crowd. Sweetie Belle could hear the sounds of her friends and sister cheering while Premium wishes her own mother could be here to cheer for her.

She never comes to her contests anyway. But even if she didn't have her mother here, Flurry Heart was there to support the young unicorn and even ponies who were fans of her. So she wasn't truly alone in all of this.

But even still, to have her own mother watch and cheer her on would be the best feeling for her without a doubt.

"5 minutes on the clock! Begin!" Marian announced.

"Okay! Meowstic and Piplup! Showtime!" Sweetie Belle went first, sending out her Pokemon as the symbols Psychic eyes and bubbles flew out of the Poke Balls.

"Meowstic!"

"Piplup!"

"I've been waiting for this! I'm better with two! Flareon, Steenee! Come out!" Premium then sent out her Flareon and Steenee with vicious flames and a spiral of leaves flying out.

"Flareon!"

"Steenee!"

"We'll go first! Now, Meowstic! Psybeam! And Piplup, Aerial Ace!"

"Meow...!" Meowstic went first by putting her arms together and shooting out a purple beam of Psychic Energy. She aimed the beam forward but didn't allow it to go the full distance. Instead, it stopped midway with Meowstic holding it in place.

"Pip!" And that was Piplup's cue. By coating his flippers in a white aura, the Penguin Pokemon moved at blistering speeds, bolting off the grounds and leaving a small trail of wind. He became a blur as he made one of his flippers connect with Psybeam.

Piplup ended up sliding his flipper along the beam of Psybeam, merging it with the aura of Aerial Ace. He then pulled his flipper back, revealing that he now had a white and purple aura. The purple aura from Psybeam was even formed to make that of a sword on Piplup's flipper.

"Oho! Using two moves to make one isn't uncommon, but that's certainly a new way to do it!" Marian exclaimed.

"We're not done yet! Again Piplup! And coat him Meowstic!"

"Pip...Lup!" Piplup then used her other flipper to borrow some of Psybeam's energy. Not only that, but Meowstic had focused her amazing and new Psychic power, causing it to flow around the Little Penguin Pokemon. Piplup closed his eyes as his entire body was receiving some special treatment.

He now had an armour made out of Psychic-Type energy while also having Psychic weapons merged with a Flying-Type move.

"Look at that! Piplup's been given his own armour made completely out of Psybeam!" Marian gawked. "I bet that defence is hard to get through!"

"Oh, nice! That's like Dawn's Mamoswine and Ic Shard Armor!" Ash recognized the style choice of Piplup.

"Pika-Pika!"

"Sweetie Belle sure can learn a lot in just one night, can't she? Although I worry for her sleep schedule to be honest..." Rarity chuckled nervously.

"An armour of Pokemon moves is something I never thought of!" Twilight started writing this down, feeling as if this type of knowledge could be useful in the future. Especially for any future threats.

"Here we come! Give them an Aerial Ace and Psybeam combo, Piplup!"

"Lup!" Piplup once again bolted off the floor, this time with double the power on her side. The aura of Psybeam trailed out of her flipper and body as he went for both Flareon and Steenee.

"Hmph. That's no big deal. We'll break right through that armour eventually, just watch! Steenee, Triple Axel! And Flareon use Flare Blitz to soar up!"

"Flareon!" Just like what he did before, Flareon coated himself in a burst of flames, using the speed of Flare Blitz to leap into the air and gaining some airtime.

"Steen!" As for Steenee, her legs lit up with an icy cold exterior. The Fruit Pokemon placed her foot forward before spinning around like a ballet dancer. By spinning around on the stage, she used the ice to form a circular blockade of ice. This blockade erupted from the floor as the height was fairly impressive, towering over Steenee, Piplup, Flareon and Meowstic.

"Lup!" Piplup then smashed the Aerial Ace and Psybeam combination onto the ice. One hit and the ice didn't shatter, unfortunately. But it did leave some cracks.

"Flareon!" Flareon then increased the aura of Flare Blitz, causing the glow to grow. The scarlet glow of Flare Blitz lit up the room while also giving the ice a beautiful red tint. Half of the ice on the top was given a red tint while the bottom kept its light blue colouring.

"Now come crashing down, Flareon! Steenee, now use Aromatic Mist!"

"Stee-Steenee!" The Fruit Pokemon put both her arms out as she once again spun around. But this time, she did by emanating a pink mist with a delectable fragrance. This pink mist covered the ice blockade, giving it a third colour whilst Flareon came crashing down. The Flame Pokemon smashed into the floor, causing an eruption of flames.

Pillars of flames shot up, rising near the ice blockade, but not quite melting. However, the pink mist from Aromatic Mist had given the pillar of flames a beautiful coating. The combination of red and pink made a dazzling rose pink.

Eventually, the flames intensified, further erupting as they blew the blockade of ice back. But they also covered the ice in a flame aura, making them both hot and cold.

"A combination of Fire and Ice makes a beautiful barrage of rose pink shards! Is that hot or cold, I wonder?" said Marian.

Multiple flaming ice shards came flying out, pelting Piplup who was the closest to it with sharp flame ice. "P-Piplup!" Piplup cried out as the shards also flew over to Meowstic too.

"M-Meow?!" Meowstic gasped as she put her arms up to try and block the shards. Both Piplup and Meowstic were punished with flaming ice shards. Not only were they receiving hot damage to their body, but they were also feeling the cold too as they were both blown back.

Piplup's Psybeam armour even had parts of it shattering. Half of the armour had been blown off of his body as he tumbled on the floor.

"Piplup! Meowsitc!" Sweetie Belle gasped.

"That armour didn't last." Scootaloo dropped her ears. "She was gonna use it to try and bypass any major damage."

"Piplup's still fragile and hasn't evolved yet," said Fluttershy. "Any strong hit won't make that Psybeam armour last a long time, unfortunately.

"It's fine! Here, get a load of this! Meowstic use Disarming Voice! Piplup, Feather Dance!"

"Meowstic...!" Meowstic opened her mouth, aiming it at the air as Piplup's body became surrounded in gold, waving his flippers around in a dance-like motion as his whole body begins to glow gold.

Then, a golden powder appeared above Steenee and Flareon as a pink soundwave purple hearts came echoing out of Meowstic's mouth. The hearts mixed with the golden light of Feather Dance, turning them orange.

"Whatever you have, we'll throw it right back! Steenee, Nature Power! Flareon charge up with Flare Blitz and use Swift!"

"Steen!" The Fruit Pokemon raised both her arms, drawing on the power of nature. Since she was in Appleloosa, Nature Power responded to the power of Grass-Type in this scenario. The floor was given a circular green glow as green tendrils suddenly sprouted out from the glow, flying upwards.

"Flare!" And speaking of upwards, once, Flareon used Flare Blitz to rocket himself into the air. But this time, he used the flames of Flare Blit to move around, writing some words.

In the span of just 5 seconds, with his great speed, Flareon had written Appleloosa in the air for everyone to see. And he did this all while flying towards the hearts. Premium Polish was definitely playing to the crowd with that trick. After doing so, Flareon then fired Swift, shooting star-shaped rays over at the orange hearts.

The stars and hearts had clashed as Swift was starting to replace the hearts from Disarming Voice and show its already golden appearance with some more gold. The tendrils of Nature Power were also going to replace Feather Dance's glow.

"I don't so! Bubble Beam, Piplup! And Meowstic, carry him there and use Magical Leaf!"

"Meow!" Meowstic used her Psychic ability to hold Piplup and to levitate as well, carrying the Penguin Pokemon with her. They zoomed towards the air as the two of them unleashed a barrage of bubbles and glowing leaves from their mouths.

The leaves from Magical Leaf scattered as they had cut the stars of Swift in half, causing them to explode and drop beautiful gold sparkles from their destruction, filling the floor with a nice golden glitter. Bubble Beam also scattered, combining with the hearts of Disarming Voice.

The bubbles acted as protective shields around the hearts, giving them protection from the tendrils. The tendrils ended up connecting with the bubbles but ended up being pushed back by their bounciness.

"Oh!" Premium Polish gasped.

"Nice- nice! Now get a load of this! Secret Power, Piplup! And Meowstic, Wonder Room!"

"Pip...!" Piplup covered himself in a white aura as Meowstic launched the Penguin Pokemon up with her Psychic mind, allowing him to reach a high height.

Piplup then went into the golden light at the top of the stage, merging the white light with it. Everyone squinted their eyes as the brightness was incredible. And to add it on top, Meowstic then summoned a boxed room of purple energy around Steeenee and Flareon.

"Stee?"

"Flareon?"

"Here it comes! Go Piplup! Aerial Ace! Meowstic rain those hearts down!"

"Lup!" Piplup then spread the golden light of Feather Dance, overpowering it with something else. Piplup's body was now covered in pure white from Secret Power and the aura of Aerial Ace. The Water-Type then dashed downwards, leaving a white trail as he looked like a shooting star now.

Not only that, but with her command, Meowstic made the bubble protected hearts of Disarming Voice come flying down as they flew next to Piplup. The white aura around Piplup gave the bubbles some shine too.

"Take a gander! Piplup's whole body is nothing but a white light as it shoots down like a shooting star onto the world! And those falling bubble hearts gained a nice shine with the light!"

"Sweet Celestia!" Premium was actually intimidated by that. "Flareon, Shadow Ball! Steenee, Solar Beam!"

"Flareon!" Flareon opened his mouth, summoning a blob of shadows. He then threw that blob of shadows towards the boxed Wonder Room while Steeenee gathered power from the sun.

Since it was summer, Solar Beam's charge time was minimum. The Fruit Pokemon unleashed an orange beam from her hands as it soared onwards, merging with Shadow Ball and breaking through the Wonder Room box.

Shadow Ball's purple and black colouring gave Solar Beam a devious but beautiful appearance. Piplup then struck his flippers onto the beam, using the strength of Secret Power and Aerial Ace. The bubbles and hearts also connected, pelting down on the beam of solar power.

"P-Pip...lup!" Piplup groaned as he was trying to break through the beams with the hearts and bubbles by his side.

"Come on, Piplup! Go through!" Sweetie Belle cheered for her partner.

"Lup...!" Piplup's eyes were closing as the remaining hearts and bubbles had been destroyed after coming into contact with Solar Beam. After they blew up, they left sparklers of purple, pink and blue around.

Unfortunately, Piplup couldn't break through the Solar Beam and Shadow Ball combination even with his own combination of moves. The bam broke through, engulfing the Penguin Pokemon in its orange-black-purple light. However, due to the protective light of Secret Power also having the Grass-Type with it considering the location, the full damage was nullified. But Piplup still felt some heavy damage.

"Piplup!"

"Piplup, no!"

"Had me worried there for a second! Okay, you two! Iron Tail, Flareon! And Steenee, Triple Axel! Up close and personal!"

"Steenee-Steene!" Steenee ran forward, lighting her feet up as she summoned ice. But instead of creating a blockade, she used the ice to skate along the floor. She even made a trail of ice on the floor while also performing stylist tricks on it. Flareon ran behind her, using the ice she made to shake as well as his tail lit up with Iron Tail.

Flareon had actually used the falling sparkles from the previous moves to coat his tail with Iron Tail, giving it some shine and bedazzled.

"Not yet! Piplup, Aerial Ace! Meowstic, Disarming Voice on Piplup!"

"Pip!" Piplup stomped his feet on the floor as Meowstic fired Disarming towards Piplup. This time, Piplup was receiving an armour of Fairy-Type magic His whole body had been clad in a light pink armour with hearts swivelling around, acting as extra defence.

The Penguin Pokemon then bolted forward with his flippers glowing white. And just like that, he was about to come into contact with both Steenee and Flareon. It looked like it was about to be a direct hit as Steenee and Flareon were both grouped up.

"Is it gonna work?!" Rainbow Dash leaned forward as the anticipation was building up.

"Hehe..." But then, Sweetie Belle pulled off a cheeky little grin. She knew something that Premium Polish didn't.

And the moment Piplup got close to the two Pokemon, all of a sudden, Piplup's body had vanished out of thin air and had been replaced by a heart.

"Flare?"

"Steenee?" Flareon and Steeenee blinked as they wondered where Piplup went. He had just vanished unexpectedly without warning. They crashed through the heart that Piplup left behind as they were still going for Meowstic.

"What the?! Where'd he go?!" Premium moved her head around.

"Piplup!" And to everyone's surprise with collective gasps, Piplup was suddenly in the air of all places, raising his arm for one heavy Aerial Ace.

"How in the?!" Premium gasped.

"Oh! It's the Body Swap Technique!" Ash exclaimed.

"Amazing! One second he's there and the other second he's not there! It's like Substitution!" Marian said.

"There's the ninja trick she was waiting to use! Using a heart was a great call!" Rarity stood up, flailing her hooves around.

"This is the end! Now, Piplup, go! Meowstic, use Psybeam!"

"No, it isn't! Start ascending Steenee! Flareon, go for Meowstic!"

"Steenee!" Steenee then changed the direction of Triple Axel, using the ice to create a swirling platform of ice that allowed her to ascend. She skated across the carousel pillar of ice, heading for Piplup.

"Meowstic!" As for Meowstic, She put her hand out for Psybeam, putting all of her strength into it as she shot a purple bam out.

"Take that Psybeam for yourself, Flareon!"

"Flare!" But, by utilising Iron Tail, he used Steel's resistance to Psychic to his advantage. The Psybeam had instead been pulled into Iron Tail with a pink energy now matching the sparklers around it.

"Meow?!"

"Flareon!" After taking the light of Psybeam, Flareon whacked Meowstic in the face with a hard Iron Tail, sending the Constraint Pokemon flying.

"Nature Power! Flareon get in position!"

"Steene!" While ascending, Steenee used Nature Power on the ice instead of the floor. By using it on the ice, Nature Power drew upon the power of Ice-Type. And not only did the ice pillar expand in size, but Steenee had manipulated the ice with her tube.

"Lup?!" Piplup suddenly entered the tube due to how it was positioned. By entering it, he then slid through the tube as if he was a child on a playground slide. And waiting at the end was a hard surprise.

Flareon had got into position, standing at the end of the tube with Iron Tail ready. The Flame Pokemon had the power of Psybeam added onto his Iron Tail so this was going to sting if it even lands.

"I don't think so! Strike the tail and take it all for yourself Piplup!"

"Piplup!" Piplup maintained his composure when sliding down on the tube. He still had Aerial Ace ready and set. The Penguin Pokemon then came flying out of the tube, hitting the hearts with Aerial Ace and sending them to the Flame Pokemon.

Flareon used Iron Tail to absorb more of the hearts of Disarming Voice, adding to his strength. He then started swinging his tail about, creating a beautiful spiralling hurricane of energies as everyone gawked. The hurricane even reached the top of the concert hall.

"Pip...!" Piplup then rolled in the air a few times, ready to use Aerial Ace at the right moment. Flareon was also ready to swing his tail until...

"Time! That's it!"

Those 5 minutes were up. Piplup and Flareon both came to a halt with Piplup's flipper close to Flareon's tail. The ice tube from Steenee had shattered as the Fruit Pokemon descended.

Meowstic got back up, seeing that time ran out. She also looked over at the scoreboard with everyone else, hoping for a better outcome in her eyes.

"And the winner of the bottom brocket's first round is..." Marian built up the suspense on who won this round. "Premium Polish!"

It was Premium Polish who succeeded. But barely. She had just edged things out by a smidge. Her bar was almost lower than Sweetie Belle's by one point. But that smidge carried her to victory. She really did get her rematch win over Sweetie Belle.

"I won? Oh yes!" Premium jumped for joy before teleporting over to Steenee and Flareon. "You two, we did it! Ah, you were amazing! I was worried there for a second!"

"Steenee!"

"Flare!"

"It's mostly time that it comes down to, huh?" Sweetie Belle sighed before smiling. "Oh, well. Better luck next time. Piplup. Meowstic. You two were great. Sorry that you couldn't fully win with your new evolution Meowstic."

"Pip-Piplup."

"Meow..." Meowstic snarled as she turned away, crossing her arms and tapping her feet ferociously. She clearly wasn't so happy about this.

"Aw, come on. Don't feel too sour. This is only the second time we've lost. We've got two wins and two losses. We just have to beat out the score with our third win next time, alright?"

"Piplup!"

"Meowstic..."

"Phooey..." Rarity pouted with her ears lowering. "Just when she looked like she would be on a roll this time."

"Yeah. That's a shame. But she did really good to make things edge out at the end, huh?" Ash said.

"Pikachu."

"Still wanted her to win." Scootaloo, Diamond Tiara, Apple Bloom and Silver Spoon each said along with Pinkie Pie.

"Thanks for the great match, Sweetie Belle." Premium went over.

"Oh gee, you're welcome. I got a bit too greedy there with the whole armour thing. Guess I should really train Piplup up so that next time, he'll be strong enough to hold it."

"Pip."

"Well now that we're even, I'll break that even score the next time we meet in another contest," Premium smirked.

"I don't think so. I beat you once. You beat me once now. And I'll beat you the second time. That's a promise." Sweetie Belle held her hoof out.

"Hmph. We'll see." Premium also did the same as they both shook hooves by curling them. They now made a vow to challenge each other again and break the even score. They were now 1-1. They truly were rivals.

And the next time they meet, the outcome could be altered as they were both shooting for the spot of the Grand Festival and Top Coordinator as applause filled the stage.

Waiting room.

"Sorry I let you all down. But I feel pretty good about myself." Sweetie Belle spoke to Rarity and the others.

"It's fine, darling. You'll get the edge next time. Or even better. Total domination!" Rarity exclaimed while putting her hoof around Sweetie Belle's neck.

"Uh sure...But ya know! This calls for two big things!" She sat up on the couch. "First! I'm gonna evolve my Pokemon! I'm shooting straight for Empoleon! But uh...I don't think Teddiursa wants to evolve so...Ursaring. Next, I'll catch some new Pokemon to better my skills! The more Pokemon I have, the more I can learn, right?"

"That's the spirit." Ash gave a thumbs up.

"You can come by the Pokemon House at any time if you want," Fluttershy suggested. "We have new Pokemon showing up every day there so you'll have plenty of options."

"Oh. I need to do some evolving myself." Scootaloo bit her hoof.

"But this time, can you please manage your sleep schedule and train only during the day? Your bags might be receiving bags." Rarity said.

"I'll try." Sweetie Belle chuckled as she wasn't going to give a promise to that.

After that was said and done, the other rounds went by. Eventually, with enough rounds ending, only two coordinators were left to face off against each other.

Gelidity and Premium Polish.

Premium was a bit intimidated considering that Gelidity was the most threatening coordinator here and always kept that same innocent smile on her face. But after beating Sweetie Belle, her confidence was boosted as she had Steenee and Flareon out once more. As for Gelidity, it was her Nidoqueen and Alolan Ninetales.

"5 minutes on the clock girls! Begin!" Marian exclaimed.

"We'll make it sweet and short! Flareon, Swift! Steenee used Solar Beam plus Nature Power and ascend!"

"Steene!" Steenee gathered energy from the summer sun, charging Solar Beam up at a faster rate. She then aimed the beam downwards to the floor, firing it as she used its force to propel her upwards. She then used Nature Power to manipulate the beam of solar energy, causing it to change shape.

"Flareon!" As for Flareon, he swung his tail around, sending out star-shaped rays. The rays began swirling around the beam of Solar Beam while Nature Power had transformed the attack into a giant orange star. It even went well with the stars of swift.

The star then started spinning around, dropping solar energy everywhere. It was as if the sun itself had appeared on the earth at a smaller size.

"Hm..." Gelidity pondered for a moment. "Venoshock into Dragon Pulse. Aurora Veil and Moonblast." And she said it with such a calm demeanour too.

"Nido...! Nidoqueen opened her mouth summoning a dragon-shaped shockwave and shooting it into the air. It had the face and length of a dragon but that was about to change. Afterwards, Nidoqueen seeped poisoned through the energy of Dragon Pulse, not only adding the purple colour to the blue colour but altering the appearance of the dragon.

"Ninetales!" Alolan Ninetales then gathered power from the moon itself, summoning multiple Moonblasts, firing them towards the dragon. The moons flew beside the dragon-shaped blasts as Ninetales made them line up.

The multiple moons went on both sides of Dragon Pulse, giving it what seemed to be arms of some sort. But it wasn't done yet. She then used Aurora Beam, unleashing a multicoloured aura from her body.

The beautiful aurora gently flowed through the air, covering the moons. And what they did was give an illusionary appearance. From how Aurora Veil interacted with Moonblast, it looked like the Dragon Pulse was becoming an actual dragon as it now had claws.

There was now a multi-coloured dragon with poison oozing out of its body as it was larger than half of the whole stage itself.

"Oh my..." Premium's jaw dropped. She had done something similar to this before, but not on this scale.

"Go! Go forth, my dragon! And then use Superpower and Extrasensory!"

The dragon then dived down, heading straight for both Nidoqeen and Ninetales. Ninetales hopped on Nidoqueen's back, allowing her to give the Fox Pokemon a piggyback ride. The dragon then consumed the two of them as Ninetales was immune to it thanks to her being a Fairy-Type. And Nidoqueen's great defence just helped her power through it.

"Nido!" Nidoqueen then charged forward like a freight train, moving at a surprisingly swift speed considering her size and build. As she ran, she used the aura of Superpower to cover her whole body, making the already dazzling dragon glisten more.

The dragon was moving through the floor, letting out a roar as Ninetales used Extrasensory to boost its speed. The floor was being covered with various lights, mainly from the aura from Aurora Beam. Even the crowd were met with these lights as it complimented some of their hairstyles.

"Oh! This really makes my hair stand out, doesn't it?!" Marian noticed the beautiful glow her hair had received due to what the dragon was giving off.

"Holy moly! Fire!" Premium ordered.

The giant star then unleashed the full force of the Solar Beam as a giant orange beam came flying out, heading for the giant dragon. The dragon opened its mouth as Ninetales then continued to use Extrasensory. She used her Psychic mind to coat Solar Beam in a pink aura.

And then, with a twist, she had manipulated Solar Beam, allowing it to become a part of the dragon. After doing so, the dragon absorbed the solar energy of Solar Beam. Now the dragon was complete.

Instead of it having a similar body type to a Pokemon like Rayquaza, now it looked like a Salamence. Four legs and everything. It was hard to tell if this was just another illusion or not. But even if it was or wasn't the impact was certainly real as the giant dragon bit its energy teeth onto Steenee and Flareon.

"S-Steen!"

"Flare!" The two of them cried out as the dragon had vanished afterwards. But after Ninetales jumped off Nidoqueen's back, lunging into the air.

"Now for Dark Pulse and Moonblast!"

"Tales!" Ninetales opened her mouth, a wave of purple circles come out of her body. But as she did so, she also spun around in the air, making the wave surround her whole body. She then added one more in the form of Moonblast. The circles spread out a tad bit as a pink moon emerged with Ninetales' body being engulfed by it. After that, the circles then started circling the sphere like an atom.

The Fox Pokemon then descended, landing on top of Nidoqueen's head.

"Wow! All of those purple circles surrounding Ninetales looks like a planet with a gravitational orbit!"

"Not yet! Steenee! Triple Axel and Flareon, Shadow Ball!"

"Flareon ran backwards suddenly, shooting out multiple Shadow Balls in a straight line. There was now a row of at 10 Shadow Balls just laying there.

"Nee! Steenee!" Steenee then lit her legs up as she did consecutive backflips. With those backflips, she had landed on one shadow ball, covering it with a sharp ice armour. She then did the same for the other 9 shadow balls by continuously backflipping. Now every Shadow Ball had an ice coating around it. "Steen!"

After shielding them with ice, Steenee delivered one final kick, smashing her foot onto the back Shadow Ball. By hitting that one Shadow Ball, that created a chain reaction or domino effect. The other Shadow Balls then raced forward.

"Fire Punch please, Nidoqueen."

"Nidoqueen!" Nidoqueen roared as she surrounded her fist in blazing flames. With one mighty swing, she struck her flaming fist onto the sphere of Moonblast, launching Ninetales. The flames had also been added to the sphere, showcasing a trail of flames as Ninetales moved.

And from the superior strength and speed, Ninetales' Moonblast and Dark Pulse protected ball had absolutely ripped through the Shadow Balls with little effort. It was like they were just glass before her.

And after moving at breakneck speeds, the Fox Pokemon's whole aura smashed into Steenee and Flareon, engulfing them in an explosion of Fairy magic, Fire and Darkness. Those three colours went well with each other as some of the ice and shadows from Triple Axel and Shadow Ball could be seen in the mix.

After the smoke cleared, both Steenee and Flareon had tumbled on the floor. But they weren't getting up after that as Ninetales then slid on the floor before coming to a halt. They had both fainted.

"Steenee..."

"Flareon..."

"Oh! That's it! Both Flareon and Steenee are unable to continue!" Marian exclaimed. "Which means the winner of the Appleloosa contest is none other than Gelidity!"

"Oh, wonderful. Victory. That is ours today." Gelidity smiled as Nidoqueen ran over, picking up the earth pony and hugging her

"Nido! Nidoqueen!" Nidoqueen cheered along with the crowd as Ninetales ran over.

"Just two hits..." Premium's jaw dropped. "My she's terrifying...I can see why Sweetie Belle had such a hard time with her. Oh well... Thanks, you two. We almost made it there."

"Steen."

"Flare."

"Gelidity sure is a powerhouse for being so calm, isn't she?" Rainbow Dash's eye twitched.

"Yeah...it's pretty scary." Pinkie Pie laughed nervously.

"Hmph. Just you all wait." Diamond Tiara suddenly gave off a smug look whilst cackling. "Soon, everypony's gonna fear me and my contest moves when I'll really ready and at my best. That's gonna be nothing! Hahaha!"

The ribbon had been handed out to Gelidity by the Head Judge Mr Contesta as everything was coming to a close for the Appleloosa Contest.

"Here. The Appleloosa Ribbon. It's yours, my little pony." Mr Contesta said gifting the earth pony her ribbon.

"Many thank you's." Gelidity bowed as she took the ribbon. Once more, she proves to be a skilled and high-level coordinator despite her age.

"That's all we have for today folks!" Marian waved. "We can bring the Appleloosa Pokemon Contest to a close now! Thanks for coming! Until next time!"

Thanks to Gelidity being so strong and talented, this drove other coordinators to try their best and surpass her in every way. If anything, Gelidity is the biggest inspiration for those who want to improve as the journey continues.
