Reunion Under the Equestrian Moon

Pegalysium. Sky Monarch. Late Afternoon.

Just hours ago, Shooting Star had a breakthrough with his magic. And that breakthrough led to the birth of this wisp. The wisp first appeared large before then growing to carry Shooting Star as if he was on a magical carpet. The parents couldn't decide if this was the cause of his willpower or imagination. It could be either.

"So. Which is it?" Paramount needed to know as he asked his Royal Advisor Tip-off.

"Well, if it was imagination, he would've done it long ago. But if it was willpower, then right after he was saved and inspired by Windkiss, it would've also shown up sooner."

"So it's neither?" Luminary added. Judging by Tip-off's words, this wasn't the cause of Willpower of Imagination. It could be something different.

"I mean, it could be those two but it probably took him some time to manifest it. Each Destiny Pegasus had either one with each generation. If I had to take a guess, it might be willpower since he's inspired by his friends."

"Hm-hm. Good point." Luminary would then have the Unown bring her pictures of all the previous Destiny Pegasi creations. Each were made under certain circumstances. Good or bad. Sentient Items made by Willpower usually involved the flow of emotion while Imagination was the wonder of the mind.

"Doesn't matter. This little guy's adorable." Shooting Star said, trying to hold the wisp about. But interacting physically with this wisp also brought some mischief. Shooting Star's hooves phased through the wisp that was fittingly given the name 'Light'. The pegasus would then fall through the wisp, landing flat on his face as Light would mimic the sound of laughter by flickering and sparking.

"Well...I think I will go with both." Paramount brought on a soft smile. "What's stopping my son from having both the will to make this happen and the mind to think of it? He's different from the previous Destiny Pegasi. Even if he's on the slower side compared to them."

"But compared to the others, that means we have more time to see him grow with it. A wisp is a good starting point for his first creation. Just look at how playful it is."

"Oof!" Playful in the way that it could also get a bit rough, immediately tackling Shooting Star's chest once he got up. "Okay... Maybe let's dial it back a bit, okay?" Knowing that the wisp responded to his emotions, Shooting Star would make it calm down, lest he wished to be hit by surprisingly heavy blows from something so light.

"That Note Bird to Princess Celestia should reach her well. It was you that recommended we write letters to each other." Paramount turned to face Luminary.

"Actually, I got it from Kaleidoscope, who got it from Twilight. She would do it a lot by the end of something important. I figured I'd do the same for a change. And I'd love to get a letter back from her. Our letters to the other royals never come back after all. And I doubt Second Wind will write back to us."

"Speaking of which...how goes things with her, Tip-off? Unown? What have you all found out?" Paramount questioned.

"She's been silent. Surprisingly. Despite everything she did, Second Wind has yet to try and do something about our standard Pegalysium. All she's been doing is messing with metal. Should we be worried?"

"Very. No interaction means that something's coming. Something big." Luminary shook her head while shuddering. "No matter how long it takes we have to be ready. But I hope we aren't unprepared at all."

Equestria. Frenzy Forest. Nightfall.

Frenzy Forest. A perfect sister location to the Pokemon House where many Pokemon built their homes here. From Delphox's Hut to Queen Vespiquen's massive hive.

Speaking of Delphox, it was almost time. Time for her to bring a smile to yet another face. This time it wouldn't be a Pokemon. Instead, it was a pony who was worlds apart. Specifically, Snowdrop. Making a promise to the little pegasus and even the Legendary Pokemon Kyurem, Dephox would prepare something that, according to Kyurem, could only be done at night.

It would require her wand to make this work, of course. And a clear view of Snowdrop's drawings. She departed from her hut once the moon finally showed itself. As for where she would meet with Snowdrop, the closest gateway ended up being just near the outskirts of the forest and west of Deerling Forest. Frenzy Forest, Canterlot, Deerling Forest and the Pikachu Highlands all had the most gateways out of any distant locations due to how close most of them were.

This night was a special night for one reason. Snowdrop couldn't return to her world at all thanks to what the Rift had done. Not only was she exempt from reaching Equestria but she had been flung forward in time while having her age and even parts of her mind regressed. And yet, none of them was enough to prevent the wonderful moment that would come next. That would all change with the arrival of Ash, Twilight, Fluttershy and Luna.

"Made it!" Ash came to a screeching halt. In his hand, he still had his Xtransceiver out, using it to communicate with Spike. "Thanks for waiting, Delphox. You got everything from Spike, right?"

"Delphox." Delphox truly did. Thanks to how Kyurem and her cooperate, this was a breeze. After all, Delphox could pass through the gateways and meet with them despite being unable to bring both of them through. If anything, there was only one gateway that Kyurem knew the location of thanks to these frequent nightly visits.

Luna stood away from Ash and the others instead of getting close. Darkrai would notice how distant she was, wondering why this was the case. Since a gateway was involved, Aura was needed. Ash would hold out his other hand, summoning Sir Aaron's staff for safe measures. Twilight's magic would be added into the mix thanks to her knowledge of Rift Magic and even possessing Rift Magic as well. And for even safer measures, there would be one extra member who would guarantee a speedy process. Victini. Who else could give out such boundless energy?

"So. We gotta make this gateway work for Kyurem and...Snowdrop, right?" said Ash.

"Right. This is the only gateway location Kyurem can show up at but it disappears when he gets there. Spike says it's part of the Rift's plan. At least, Kyurem told him that. And I believe it. Phione, Jirachi and Hoopa are proof of that."

"Okay. Victini. You know what to do. Ash took a deep breath as Victini would share his Infinite Energy by touching Ash's back. Twilight's magic would also surround him, granting Ash Ketchum protection as he unleashed a stream of Aura out of the staff.

This aura would pierce the centre of the gateway, sending a vibrant flash. The gateway was enveloped by the Aura from all sides as if a hand was clutching onto it. The beautiful night was lit by a mixture of blue, purple and orange from these respective energies meeting with each other.

Ash felt less at risk thanks to Victini and Twilight who could make his Aura steady and less reactive. Thanks to this union of power, the gateway, for the most part, didn't look any different here. But in reality, it was for the other side.

Delphox moved through the gateway, entering the other side. She showed up on a Unovan Island. And waiting there as always would be Snowdrop and Kyurem. Snowdrop already had her drawings ready but to truly get the ultimate feel for them within her mind, Delphox's magic needed to be involved. But today, it would go beyond that. After being locked out of returning to her world for so long, today was the day that all changed.

Delphox was shown the image as it involved more characters than she expected. But it could work since Snowdrop had already heard the voices of Spike and everyone else, even though Iris wasn't added in. But now came the moment of truth. Getting through that gateway.

"Go." Kyurem encouraged her to move forward. There was already proof of this working. The fact that Kyurem could still see the gateway and it hadn't vanished from his sight was a sign. Snowdrop would leave her drawings in the care of Delphox before soaring towards the gateway.

There it was. With her expectations being met, Snowdrop effortlessly passed through the gateway. For the first time in three years, Snowdrop could finally return to her world after so long. And when she could feel the cosmic energies flow around her, she let out a cry of glee.

"Ow!" Although, she didn't think of who would be in front of her as she accidentally bumped into Ash's head the moment she flew through at the best speed she could muster. Ash found himself being tackled in the head by Snowdrop, dropping Sir Aaron's staff. Snowdrop would feel the same pain as just a second in her original world and already something rather painful occurred.

"Pika?!"

"Ohh! Sorry about that!" Snowdrop apologized before almost tumbling. However, the claw of Kyurem was there to catch her, phasing through the gateway. "But...I think it worked. Did it work?"

"Sure did." Twilight could confirm. After all, she was standing right here. "Welcome back!"

"Great! I'm back!" It felt great to be back home. Snowdrop had a triumphant hoof raise. Hearing this, Kyurem leaned his head through the gateway, jump-scaring Victini, Hoopa and Meloetta equally. Fluttershy would also get a slight scare by Kyurem's appearance as his entire head was almost as large as the gateway itself.

Passing through the gateway was some more company. Lance, Drake, Drayden, Iris and Spike respectively. They previously had a battle with Kyurem before learning about Snowdrop and the gateway limitations. The only one who had yet to pass through was Delphox. She was occupied with the drawing.

"Ash. I'm not even gonna ask why you have both Victini and Meloetta by your side." Iris said, noticing the two Mythicals that were next to Ash. Two of which she had bonded with as well. "But...hey."

"Hey, hey. How'd the whole thing with Kyurem go? Spike said you didn't join in on the battle?"

"I wanted to see it for myself. But...now that it's over...I kinda regret it." Iris sighed. "I could've actually battled against the World's Strongest Dragon and I blew it."

Luna watched as Snowdrop gleefully moved around, celebrating her return. She wasn't much involved with all the cosmic ongoings that went on for three years apart from being flung forward in time and having an age regression, but she could thank this cosmic power and those who could control it for bringing her home.

At that moment, Nightmare Moon, who was lurking within the shadows, spoke out to Luna, knowing exactly why she was standing away from everypony else.

"Look at you standing around as if you've never socialised before. Where's all of this coming from? You should go to her." The alter-ego insisted. "What's the harm? Are you not happy to see her again after all these years?"

"I know that," Luna growled before then stepping forward. She'd rather get close to Snowdrop than listen to Nightmare Moon berate her. Nightmare Moon wished she could get a few more words in but she could settle for what could come next. "Snowdrop."

That voice. It rang in Snowdrop's ear, prompting her to stop. Where had she heard that voice before? Though her age and mind may have regressed, not everything was gone. Memories of her home still remained. She knew she came from Equestria as she wasn't that regressed. The voice of Luna was familiar to her to the point where she froze for a bit. Luna hoped Snowdrop recognized her voice and indeed she did. With just one turnaround, the colours and shapes of Luna were instantly recognizable to Snowdrop.

The night-sky colours that perfectly resembled tonight and that iconic alicorn stature with a combination of wings and horns. Why wait to wonder who this was when it was obvious? "Princess Luna?"

"H-Hello, Snowdrop." She stammered for a bit. "How have you been?"

"Oh, it is you!" Snowdrop flew over, elated by the Moon Princess' presence. This isn't the first time they have met. Not at all. Much like how she hugged Kyurem's leg, she would hug Luna's leg upon coming to contact with her. There was a moment of silence between the two. Memories of Princess Luna remained and this wasn't just because she was Celestia's sister. "I'm so glad to see you again."

"Snowdrop...You shouldn't be here." Luna said, having something different to utter. This confused Snowdrop greatly. It was the response she was expecting. She looked up at Luna with confusion on her face.

"W-What?"

"I mean...it's been thousands of years. And you're here right now. Because of the Rift." Luna explained. "But you're younger than what you should originally be."

"A-Aren't you happy to see me?" A frown was made. Snowdrop wasn't too fond of this response. Though she was happy to see Luna, it sounded like Luna didn't share the same feeling.

"I am happy to see you. Very much. When I finally returned from the moon, I was devastated to know that I missed out on all the things we could have done together had I been back on Earth. I'm just...surprised, that's all. And confused a bit."

"Don't be. I was pretty confused from the start." Snowdrop would pat Luna's hoof. "I mean, I don't know why I was sent forward in time but...I'm not complaining!"

"I suppose so. Throwing my confusion aside...welcome back!" Luna finally expressed her full reaction, picking up the little pegasus. "Time isn't an issue for us, is it?!"

"Not at all!" Snowdrop laughed as their reunion, albeit on the slower side from the start, was exactly how they envisioned it. As far as everything goes, this was a rousing success that brought smiles to everyone's faces. Even if it was impossible to see Kyurem smile thanks to the way his face was built.

As for Kyurem, he would allow Snowdrop to experience this pure form of happiness while he spoke to everyone else about a different topic that would still relate to this.

"I thank you for doing this for Snowdrop. But there's something important you all need to hear."

"Yeah. What's up?" Ash asked as he was all ears. Him and everyone else that were facing the Boundary Pokemon.

"I said that this was part of the Rift's plan. Whatever it may be. But after giving it some time and thinking it through, I believe I've discovered what that plan might be. The Rift intentionally sent her forward in time because it probably wanted something like this to happen. Everything that happened right as I found Snowdrop was played out perfectly."

"Seriously? This is was all intended?" Twilight gasped. "How and why?"

"I didn't think it would do something like this. Doesn't it hate you, Ash? It's the reason for most of our problems, right?" said Iris.

"It would do something like this. Cosmic Entities are always fluctuating and changing their decisions. Especially when it comes to something that can entertain them, they will most likely go for an option that looks the most promising. Snowdrop is close to your princess. I can tell that. But since she comes from the far past and your princess lives as long as I do, it's clear that the Rift wanted them to reunite. However which way it would've been done, this outcome would've happened somehow and someway."

"You deduced this quickly, Kyurem," Drayden replied. "Is this something we should think about a lot? If the Rift would do something this sweet..."

"It is. I've met entities like the Rift before and know what they think. The Rift chose to send her near me so that I would find her. It wasn't a coincidence at all. It specifically chose Snowdrop of all ponies who had a disability. And I must admit...it worked out. I love that little girl as if she was my own daughter."

"Aww, isn't that sweet?" Fluttershy gushed. Hearing a Pokemon see a pony as their own child was rather warming to the heart from such a giant and chilling Pokemon

"Do you think it's all part of a greater plan then?" Lance questioned. "Did the Rift plan something ahead?"

"Definitely. It sent her to me three years ago and only three days after our worlds crossed over. Most definitely, the Rift pre-planned various things for the future."

"It did!" Twilight exclaimed. "BigTime Ben's an example of that. I already learned who he was and why he was here. He's the reason why our world got access to so many items in such a short time. If it were anything else, it would've probably taken us months or a year to get the essentials for a completely different world."

"It kept Hoopa from remembering Ashkan for a bit." Hoopa flew forward. "And Hoopa can't get a Jirachi."

"And it went for the Phione too," Fluttershy added. "All the Jirachi in existence are currently trapped somewhere that we can't reach yet. It planned so many things, didn't it?"

"Yeah...but it did it because it would all come together." Ash knew exactly why the Rift would do this. The Rift didn't want to make things easy for them from the start. Months of events led up to other larger events that came together. Whether it was by meeting new people, ponies and Pokemon and forming bonds with them or even the enemies they make. "It's all for fun. And for what would be the best thing to watch."

"All that for entertainment? I'd call it twisted but..." Lance growled.

"Speaking of which...we should get to Canterlot right now. You remember what Princess Celestia said, right? Now that Shooting Star's found a breakthrough, it's high time we return to the golden stairway that'll lead us to Jirachi.

"Lead you to Jirachi?" Lance and Iris repeated as they had no idea of this stairway's existence. But indeed. Tonight, the reunion between Snowdrop and Luna wasn't the only important thing to go down.

Something far larger was soon. The Golden Stairway. It had yet to be completed. But when it does get what it needs, how will it lead them to Jirachi? There was only one way to find out when they get to Canterlot as the journey continues.
