The Terrifying World of Pokemon

Author's Note:

Reading this will make you realize that maybe, just maybe, it's a good thing Pokemon don't exist in the real world because Yikes.

Nightmare Night is here once more in Ponyville. Or in this case for the Pokemon World, Halloween. Whichever you prefer.

And for both worlds, they were prepared to experience this event to the fullest since it comes once every year.

"Alright! Let's do it right this time." Twilight spoke, wearing an Espeon costume. She got it due to BigTime Ben selling Halloween Pokemon costumes a few weeks back. Just to prepare for this day.

"Do what right?" Spike replied wearing a Goodra outfit.

"This year's Nightmare Night is promised to be the best it's ever been thanks to BigTime Ben. He's apparently found a way to give everypony the best fear experience for us. Granted...it took a while for it to start, but it's ready."

"Even more than Nightmare Moon?"

"Even more than Nightmare Moon. Though...I'm not sure what he has planned for everypony? He did say it would be Pokemon-themed after all."

"Maybe its a bunch of Sharpedo and Cofagri...whatever that Coffin Pokemon was called."

"Cofagrigus. And maybe. We'll just have to see. I'm actually pretty excited." Twilight was getting a bit giddy about this. "Are you two excited as well?"

"Espeon." Eve was licking her paw as she was dressed up in a mini-Starswirl the Bearded costume while Minccy wore a gladiator costume. Of all things.

"So, did you manage to convince Fluttershy to enjoy Nightmare Night?"

"No. Fluttershy decided that it's not her cup of tea. She's made her decision to stay out of Nightmare Night and that's fine with us."

"Aw. I really wanted to see what she would do at a time like this."

Outside, everypony was wearing Pokemon-themed costumes since they blew up in popularity the moment they came to Equestria. One of the many appeals of Pokemon. Most were either wearing costumes based on the Pokemon they own or just what they found interesting.

Ash was wearing what he wore last Nightmare Night. That being the Aura Guardian costume worn by Sir Aaron. He got to keep it after the events that happened Cameran Palace with Lucario. Pikachu changed it up by wearing a costume based on the Ho-Oh.

"Oh! Pikachu. Your tail's kinda ripping the back of the costume a bit." Ash pointed out the tear in Pikachu's costume.

"Pika? Pika!" Pikachu adjusted his tail to make sure it doesn't cause any more damage to it.

"Neat costume choice, Pikachu!" Pinkie bounced over as she had on a Bewear costume, reminiscent of what she had when they all sucked into a board game once. "Have a look at Jade! Doesn't this fit her?!" Pinkie pulled Jade towards her. She was wearing a costume of a Pokemon that Pinkie believes fits her. A Lopunny.

"I like it. Bit tight though." Jade commented.

"So, Ash! Pikachu! You two here to check out the Poke-Shock attraction?"

"You know it! We arrived just in time. There's only...7 hours until Nightmare Night ends. So we've got plenty of time!"

"Pikachu!"

"All the time we need as well, Ash Ketchum." The voice of Princess Luna had responded to Ash. It was expected for her to show up since this is her favourite time of the year. But it was taken a step further. Because this time, Celestia was getting involved as well. Along with some students from Canterlot who had their parents drag Hollow here. He was not up for this since he was on the verge of falling asleep.

"Luna! And Celestia? You're joining this year?"

"Indeed I am. Pyrestar has everything under control back at Canterlot. And I'm personally excited about this!" Celestia clapped her hooves together.

"Yes, well. This is MY year. So be prepared to have an experience like no other, sister." Luna said with brash manner.

Inside the home of Sonata and Aria, however...

"I ain't going!" Aria exclaimed. She was currently being pushed out of the door by Sonata, struggling to escape back inside.

"Come on...! Stop resisting!" Sonata strained.

"You can't make me!" Aria turned around, grabbing Sonata and tossing her away. Sonata crashed into a pumpkin, getting her head stuck in it.

"What? You scared of spooky stuff?"

"I am NOT scared! I never get scared!"

"That's the biggest lie I've ever heard. When we were little you were terrified of being alone at night all the time. You'd always say stuff like 'Adagio I'm scared!' Sonata, where are you?!' And other stuff like that. And I was younger than you! Still am too."

"T-That was a long time ago! No matter what you do, you'll never get me to come out of this house!"

"...If you say so. Have fun being indoors for the rest of the night without me here." Sonata hummed, walking off in her bizarre alien outfit.

Aria looked around, noticing that she was indeed alone now that Sonata was gone. And the only company she could have at the moment was her Popplio. In that instance, she was starting to quake, holding her partner Pokemon close to her. "I don't get scared. I don't get scared. I don't get scared." She repeated to herself.

But after a few minutes of realizing that she was surrounded by total silence in the night, she rushed outside for Sonata whilst having Popplio beside her.

"Oh? Got scared of being alone?" Sonata taunted.

"Shut up! I just wanna make sure you don't do something stupid this late at night!"

"Sure...Now! Let's go grab some sweets!"

Everyone who was awake at the moment was making their way to this Poke-Shock Attraction to see what it was all about. Their expectations were set low for this. But little do they know, Pokemon can be much more terrifying than they can imagine. The appearance of the attraction was in the shape of your usual funhouse. Nothing too fancy. But inside is where all the flare happens.

"Welcome friends!" Ben slid in with his Gothitelle. "I can see a lot of you are interested in this! And I even see some of the Cantelort Students here. Evening Hollow."

"I can't believe I was dragged out here..." Hollow groaned, tired.

"Here is the Poke-Shock Attraction! This is a fairly popular attraction every time we celebrate Halloween in our world. I assume all of you have a good grasp on what to expect in here, right?"

"Probably a bunch of random jumpscares and big scary intimidating Pokemon," Sunrise commented, believing that it wasn't going to be that scary. He might jump from the jumpscare but that's about it.

"Can't be too scary. We've battled and seen some pretty fierce Pokemon." same for Rainbow Dash.

"You really think so? Okay then. Have a venture inside and see what you all may find." Ben let them head in but there were two things he had to mention first. "Oh! Two quick things! One, you'll all need this. An automatic Pokedex." He lent them a smaller version of their Pokedex as it was floating next to them all.

"But we already have our own Pokedexes." Sapphire Flash said.

"Yes. But these ones are necessary for this attraction. They'll give you some extra information about Pokemon you never knew."

"Automatic dexes do sound cool." Ash looked up at it.

"Pikachu."

They were all about to head until Ben had to mention the final thing on his mind. "Oh and uh one more thing...You see...some of the Pokemon inside aren't mine."

"What do you mean by that?" Twilight asked.

"Every Halloween, the guys who made this tend to add both Pokemon that I own and some random Pokemon. So some of the Pokemon in there are mine and some aren't. Just keep that in mind."

"H-How can we tell which is yours?" Rarity stuttered.

"...I don't know. I've never been in this before." Ben shrugged. "Anyways have fun!" He waved goodbye as he and Gothitelle took their leave.

"Pssh. Can't be that terrifying. Earlier, Fluttershy of all ponies managed to terrify us the most. This will be a walk in the park." Rainbow Dash grinned.

"I'm still expecting to get some shock out of it." Cold Colt commented. Each of them went inside, unaware of what was really waiting for them.

One particular group who were lurking in the shadows was Team Rocket. They figured that what better way to snatch Pikachu than to do it in the darkest night of the year. Besides, they'll just play it off as some Halloween trick, giving them enough time to make a clean getaway to the Pokemon World.

"I see a huge opportunity this late at night." Jessie poked her head out of the bush as she was going undercover in a Seviper costume.

"An opportunity that can be passed off as a trick!" James popped up wearing a Carnivine costume.

"But no treat left behind for the poor suckers!" Meowth giggled as he was wearing a costume based off his final evolution, Persian.

"What say we blend in and get into the spirit of this frightful night!" Jessie rubbed her hands together as Team Rocket were ready to take action.

"Wobbuffet!"

The Poke-Shock Attraction begins.

And like everything horrifying, it starts off small. In the case of Pokemon, the definition of small can vary from time to time. The first spot they came across was a location that mirrored the infamous Pinwheel Forest in Unova. Nothing wrong with it, in fact, it had normal trees that weren't wilted and the grass was perfectly soft. The complete opposite of terrifying.

"...Hm. This is the first spot? It feels...normal." Rainbow Dash was unimpressed.

"I'm sure it builds up the further we go. Let's see what happens, everypony," said Twilight. That's when they came across their first Pokemon. It was unknown if this Pokemon belonged to BigTime Ben or if it was wild since its impossible to tell what's owned and what's not.

This Pokemon was a Litwick. Small, a bit soft and just generally a simple-looking Pokemon. I mean, it's a candle after all.

"Aw...look at that Pokemon." Sapphire admired it.

"Is that Ben's or just some random Pokemon?" Applejack wondered.

"It's a Candle? There really is a Pokemon based on everything isn't there?" Pinkie Pie scratched her head.

"I kinda wanna catch it a bit. Look at the way it wiggles around."Sweetie Belle giggled.

"Meh. Not interested. I'm heading to the next spot." Rainbow Dash flew off with some other ponies. uninterested by this one. Some of them, mostly the foals of Ponyville and a few Canterlot students stayed behind for this Litwick since its cute appearance was too difficult to resist. And that's when the automatic dex played its part. It flew towards Litwick, scanning it and giving all the information the ponies need.

"Litwick. The Candle Pokemon. Litwick utilizes its cuteness to draw trainers in. While shining a light and pretending to be a guide, it leeches off the life force of any who follow it. This Pokémon takes lost children by the hand to guide them to the spirit world. The younger the life this Pokémon absorbs, the brighter and eerier the flame on its head burns."

"...Okay. That's actually pretty creepy. But if we don't fall for it, it's no big deal, right guys?" Sunrise said to the others. However, they had all been drawn in by Litwick's cuteness already. The Candle Pokemon had easily lured the young ponies in, leading them to who knows where. "Hey! Wait! Didn't you hear what the dex said?!" Sunrise tried to stop them, but the grass underneath him suddenly rose up, creating a massive hedge that blocked him off. "Oh no...Guys!" Sunrise ran off, attempting to find the others to tell them about what happened.

With the others, some of them had ended up getting separated due to how massive the inside of the Fun-house was. The moment they set foot further inside, the larger it appeared and the more confusing everything was. As such, some of the ponies had their curiosity get the better of them when they saw something that caught their eye. Others got lost due to the Pokemon move Smokescreen being nearby. They seemed to have ended up on different sides of the Fun-house without any proper explanation.

"...Hm? Weren't we here with them earlier?" Pinkie looked back.

"I know what this is. This is probably one of those tricks where they split up the group. Easy pickings." Rainbow Dash scoffed as she bumped into something that felt like glass. "Ow! What the?" She and the others came across what appeared to be a fish tank. And inside the tank was the South Sea Pokemon Gorebyss. "Oh, just a Gorebyss. We already know about it so you don't have to say anything dex."

But the dex was going to do so anyway. Any new Pokemon it comes across, it must scan.

"Gorebyss. The South Sea Pokemon. Gorebyss lives in the southern seas at extreme depths. Its body is built to withstand the enormous pressure of water at incredible depths. Because of this, this Pokémon’s body is unharmed by ordinary attacks."

"Yeah..yeah...Moving on." Rainbow Dash flew forward, leaving this area that still had the appearance of Pinwheel Forest. But the dex wasn't finished yet. It still had more to say.

"Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey’s body and drains the prey of its body fluids. Its light pink body color turns vivid when it finishes feeding."

"I beg your pardon?" Rarity stood up from the dex entry, looking at the automatic Pokedex.

"That IS cruel! Why would a Pokemon ever-" Pinkie Pie's sentence was cut short when the South Sea Pokemon stabbed its mouth right through the dex and into Pinkie Pie's head.

"PINKIE PIE!" Rarity bellowed. Her yell could be heard from across the Fun-house as it was that vocal and bloodcurdling.

"That sounded like Rarity." Twilight stopped walking. "You think she found something that's actually terrifying?"

"Probably. But I bet it was just some jumpscare." Rainbow Dash shrugged it off as something minor. "Say, Ash. You know a lot about Pokemon. Can't you just-" Rainbow Dash noticed that Ash was gone as she and Twilight were the only two here in this new area that resembled a cave. "Ash? Oh, come on. We lost him too?"

"This place is pretty good at making us all split up, right Eve?"

"Espeon." The Sun Pokemon nodded.

"Let's keep going, Rainbow. We might run into everypony along the way." And so they did. Heading off further in the Fun-House they came across a familiar area in the form of Pokestar Studios and its prop room. There, the props were all laid out on the floor out of their boxes. Not only that but it seemed like something had bit into them.

"PokeStar Studios? What kind of Pokemon would be here?" Rainbow Dash landed down, grabbing a Druddigon head.

"No idea. I wonder if there's a Pokemon that's all about making movies? OH! Maybe there's a camera Pokemon out there!" Twilight theorized as she galloped towards the dressing room.

"Probably." Rainbow Dash replied. She turned around to notice that Twilight went off to the dressing room to venture more. But before she could go after her alicorn friend, the Druddigon head she was holding was starting to act up. "Hm? She dropped the head as it broke apart with something bursting out. The Pokemon that burst out of it was the Face Pokemon Glalie. One that Rainbow Dash was familiar with due to Ash. "Oh, just a Glalie. What's up with this fun-house? Nothing here's creepy at all."

But little did she know, the automatic dex had some information that can change that in a second.

"Glalie. The Face Pokemon. Glalie has the ability to freely control ice. For example, it can instantly freeze its prey solid. After immobilizing its prey in ice, this Pokémon enjoys eating it in a leisurely fashion. While they’re in that frozen state, it gobbles them up."

"Say what now?" Rainbow Dash was actually a bit blown back by that dex entry. The fact that this Pokemon just eats its victims when they're frozen is actually unnerving. And speaking of frozen, Glalie had frozen Rainbow Dash with an Ice Beam when she was still looking at the dex.

It was pretty obvious on why the automatic dexes were involved in this. One, so that they can give off disturbing and creepy facts about certain Pokemon. And two, because once everyone hears the fact, they'll be fixated on the dex by reading the words on the screen, giving the Pokemon enough time to take action. So Rainbow Dash was frozen solid by Glalie. Which meant it was time to eat.

"Nothing in there, Rainbow." Twilight came out of the dressing room. "But I did find-" Her words were cut off when she saw her friend frozen in place, being slowly eaten by Glalie who was biting the ice. "RAINBOW DASH?!"

"Glalie?"

Rainbow Dash's eyes were still able to move as she looked back at Twilight with a shocked expression. She couldn't do anything due to her frozen body. Glalie turned its attention to Twilight, finding a new prey to freeze and eat. The Face Pokemon hovered over to Twilight ready to freeze her, but the doors cut it off by shutting themselves. Now Rainbow Dash was trapped inside with Glalie.

"Okay! No need to panic! It's just apart of the attraction!" Twilight squeed as she held Eve and Minccy close to her. "This is just part of the attraction..." She took some deep breaths. But she still wanted to know if Rainbow Dash was okay. She attempted to open the door up by banging on it, but no good. She then tried teleporting inside, which worked actually. But when Twilight re-entered the prop room, she noticed that Glalie and Rainbow Dash were gone. All that was left was a piece of ice that had a bit of Rainbow Dash's mane in it. "Okay...maybe there's a lot of need to panic!"

The next group that was about to get a taste of how terrifying Pokemon can be were the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Applejack along with Cold Colt and Jade Skies.

"Lot of these places seem like just Unova." Scootaloo noticed.

"Maybe Unova's the one region with the scariest stuff!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed.

"Maybe." Scootaloo nodded.

"You feeling anything, Jade?" Applejack asked.

"Not really. I don't know if I can feel fear."

"B-But I sure can...Does it have to be so dark?" Cold Colt trembled since he was easily afraid of the dark.

"Come on now. You're with us so it's alright." Applejack pulled the young foal close to him. "Hold on. Do ya'll feel that?" Applejack could feel something ominous in the air. As if something familiar was hanging around them.

"Feel what? I don't feel anything." Apple Bloom shook her head.

"Feels familiar..." Applejack put her hoof on her chin, trying to remember what this feeling reminded her of. The others just stood by and looked around the area for anything of interest. That's when Sweetie Belle saw something that definitely caught her interest. Standing there was a Yamask. Just staring at her with its usual blank expression on its face with tiny little teardrop that blended in with its eye colour. Sweetie Belle gulped, turning around and pretending it wasn't there. But it was there alright.

She wasn't the only one who found something unnerving. Applejack's thought was quickly cut short when she and the others came across a room that had a throne on it. And on that throne sat a Snubull. A fairly cute Pokemon in its own right. But this Snubull had human women next to it. Almost as if they were drawn to this Pokemon. The automatic dex gave information on that too. One that the young ones shouldn't listen to probably.

"Snubbull. The Fairy Pokemon. It grows close to others easily and is also easily spoiled. The disparity between its face and its actions makes many young people wild about it. It has an active, playful nature. Many women like to frolic with it because of its affectionate ways. Snubbull gathers women and makes them a part of its serail, keeping the women for itself."

"...I-I think we're just going to leave now..." Applejack backed away with the young foals.

"I don't know if this is scary or just uncomfortable. What do you think, Sweetie Belle?" Scootaloo asked her fellow Crusader. However, she didn't respond to them at all. The reason being was revealed to Scootaloo when she turned around to see Sweetie Belle on the floor, struggling to get the mask of Yamask off her. "SWEETIE BELLE?!"

The young unicorn was trying her best but the mask was on tight like glue. They all tried to help out and get the mask off her, but it was no use. That mask wasn't coming off. And all Yamask did was just stand in the shadows, watching this go down.

But it got worse. Since Yamask's mask is meant to be the face of when it was a human, the memories of a human's past life and how they died were ingrained into Sweetie Belle's head. These memories were enough to make her suffer as she held her head, not wanting to experience any more of these haunting memories. Whatever they were.

"No good! It won't come off!" Applejack tried to use her lasso, but no good. As if things couldn't get worse. They did. The evolution of Cofagrigus decided to make an entrance, grabbing Apple Bloom from the shadows with its extremely long pitch-black arms, pulling her into its coffin body. A scream from Apple Bloom echoed throughout their ears as they turned around. But it was too late to see what happened. Cofagrigus had just up and vanished with Apple Bloom, leaving no trace or proof of its existence here. "APPLE BLOOM?!" Now it was getting to Applejack. The fear of losing her sister was kicking in her head.

"We shouldn't have come in here!" Cold got on the floor, holding his head out of pure fear. Their struggles only got worse once more. This time, those same hedges from the Pinwheel area popped back up, separating Applejack, Cold Colt and Scootaloo. The floor underneath Scootaloo was actually a trap door that would be activated once the hedges rise up. So the result ended up being her falling down through the hatch, screaming.

"Scootaloo?! Cold?!" Applejack called for their names. However, the hedges were so thick that they were practically soundproof. So no matter what, they couldn't hear each other. "Treecko! Dragonbreath!" Applejack was getting a bit desperate as she commanded her Treecko to blast the hedges down. But, to their surprise, the Dragonbreath just vanished into thin air. As it was water evaporating. All Applejack could do was gulp. But she wasn't alone for long. The Pokemon that came to greet her was Muk. A walking Biohazard. Applejack had unfortunately been enveloped by Muk.

Moving away from the group who came here for the attraction, Team Rocket had made their way inside by sneaking. They had no idea what was going on. But they would find out in their own way.

"This place gives me the heebie-jeebies. And not the good kind." Meowth groaned. Currently, they were in a hidden area that had a ton of honey made by Combee and Vespiqueen. Jessie could feel all the honey get in her boots, making her irritated.

"We just had to find the bonus area, didn't we?" Jessie shook the honey off her boots. "Where's the twerp anyways?! He's always around when we're after him! Why now he decides to be invisible!" Jessie kicked the honey, slipping on it as she fell on her back.

"Bit rough of the kicks there, Jess," James commented.

"Shut up and help me up!" Jessie snapped back. They tried to help Jessie up but this honey was unnaturally sticky. Stickier than normal. So sticky that Jessie felt like she was stuck on the ground. "I'm stuck?! Not like this!"

"This honey's pure! There's no way we're gonna get you out by just pulling!" Meowth exclaimed.

"That doesn't help, Meowth!" Jessie kicked around. And just like everyone else in here, things started to get worse for them. From above the ceiling, a bundle of honey poured down on Team Rocket, making them yelp. Soon, they were all enveloped in honey. Every corner. On the bright side, the honey was starting to lose its stickiness so they could move around now. But now they were apart of the funhouse's chaos.

Moving back to the normal group, Twilight's panic levels were rising and rising. She galloped around the area but it felt like she was making zero progress. This place was too gigantic so it was easy to get lost. "Where is everypony?! She cried out." She was tiring herself out from all the running as she took some time to break with her Pokemon comforting her. "This isn't what I was expecting." Twilight breathed in and out, walking slowly to restore her stamina.

And that's when she came across something that was more disturbing than it was scary. Actually, it was still scary to her. It was a Cubone laying on the floor. But it wasn't just laying on the floor. It was using the skeleton of its own dead mother as a blanket and its skull as a pillow. This alone was enough to disturb Twilight. It got worse as she turned around to see an Eevee standing around. She didn't think it was that bad due to it being a simple Eevee.

Little did Twilight know that sometimes, Eevee's genes are easily influenced by its surroundings. Meaning, even its face starts to look like that of its trainer. So, this Eevee turned around and had an unidentified human face on it.

"Eevee." The Evolution Pokemon spoke with the face of a human who had a very defined chin. This was enough to make Twilight scream in fear. It was a bit disturbing to see that on something as cute as Eevee.

Her Pokemon weren't safe from any of this either. It didn't take long until they experienced what this place has to offer. Twilight and her Pokemon turned around to see a newcomer in the mix. A Dusclops. If a Ghost-Type is involved, that's already a bad sign. And in the case of Dusclops, it was capable of doing something much worse than what the rest of the Pokemon in here.

Dusclops's body is entirely hollow with only a spectral ball of fire inside. But that wasn't the horrifying part. Not at all. What was the actual horror of Dusclops was the fact that its body is like a black hole. Meaning that it can pull victims inside of it, trapping them forever, with no chance of escaping.

So that's what it did.

The Beckon Pokemon began pulling in Eve and Minccy by opening its hidden mouth. Soon, they each felt the pull of a black hole pulling them in. Twilight was apart of this as well. She held onto the walls, attempting to break free of the pull. Her Pokemon were already sucked in, becoming apart of Dusclops hollow body, victims to an endless space with no end in sight whilst being near a never-ending fire that constantly burns on and on.

"EVE! MINCCY!" Twilight cried out for her Pokemon. It wasn't long until the pull got her as well. It looked like Twilight was about to be trapped inside of Dusclops as well, but she was saved by a rising hedge of all things. They seemed to be the most prominent trigger in this funhouse. Twilight was breathing rapidly, unable to take in all that just happened. She just saw her Pokemon fall into some sort of black hole. She was shaken up by it to the core. Twilight ran off, looking for somepony else until she came across something unfortunate.

She saw the bodies of Pinkie Pie and Rarity drained as Gorebyss was still sucking on their fluids. Twilight gasped, seeing her friends as dehydrated vessels of themselves. She made a quick turn, running from Gorebyss as her fears were building up even further. She believed that there was no way this was happening."

With Scootaloo, she ended up falling down a new area in this funhouse. Whatever was here would have the same effect as the previous rooms.

"W-Where am I?! Girls?! Applejack?!" Scootaloo did her best to try and call her friends. But it was no use. There was no way they were going to hear her due to how deep she was under the funhouse. But she wasn't alone. Not at all. She saw some Spoink bounce over to her in their usual cheery fashion. "Oh! Thank Celestia..." She let out a sigh of relief. "Some Spoink."

But unfortunately, even a Pokemon as cute and go-lucky as Spoink had something horrible behind it as well. Spoink shared a tragedy similar to that of Cubone and its deceased mother almost.

The reason why Spoink constantly bounces without break is due to the fact that it keeps their heart pumping by shock. If a Spoink was to stop bouncing, it's heart will stop, causing it to die completely. And that was happening to the Spoink here. All of them had stopped bouncing due to the heavy gravity in this room.

Scootaloo watched as she witnessed all the Spoink here suddenly fall with their lifeless body now on the floor. "W-What's going on?" More and more Spoink kept falling with their hearts coming to a sudden stop. And Scootaloo could actually tell that they were lifeless. She didn't think that they had just fainted. Because no Pokemon faints like that. "I don't like this...I don't like this!" Scootaloo sat in a corner, holding her head as she was genuinely terrified of this. The thought of seeing something just fall to its demise in front of you was horrible enough.

If Fluttershy were here, who knows what her reaction would be honestly.

And it was only going to get worse from here on.

Hollow's group was up next. They have yet to really experience what this funhouse holds. The others sure have. Hollow was too tired to move on. All this walking was just exhausting and he just wanted to sleep. So he did. He sat down near a fallen chair, dozing off on it.

"Mr Hollow?" Sapphire Flash turned around to see her teacher asleep. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep. "Maybe we shouldn't wake him up..."

"Mhm." A colt nodded.

"GUYS!" Sunrise had actually managed to find his fellow classmates with all the running he was doing.

"What? What is it?" A filly asked him.

"Big news! Bad news! The others have been foalnapped!"

"Foalnapped?! By who?!" Sapphire leaned forward.

"The-" Sunrise's sentence was cut short due to him activating a trap by stepping on a tile when he galloped. This trap caused Cofagrigus to show up once more, dragging the young unicorn down into what seemed to be an abyss. Everypony gasped as they saw Sunrise get dragged into this abyss with the hatch closing up.

"...Sunrise?!" Sapphire ran to the hatch, trying to open it up with her magic, but it was no use. Every last one of these traps were made to make sure that no one could just simply free whoever was caught by it. Not even a Pokemon.

But now...the class was about to get an experience from possibly the second most terrifying Pokemon in this funhouse. What made this particular Pokemon terrifying wasn't its appearance, even though it was a bit intimidating.

This Pokemon didn't have a hollow body that could suck you in like a black hole. It didn't sleep with its mother's skeleton.

It didn't use to be a human in a past life with a mask carrying all its memories especially when it dies.

It doesn't lure others by tricking itself as a guide just to steal their spirit.

It doesn't stab its victims and drain their fluids.

It doesn't have the ability to freeze its prey and eat them alive.

No.

This Pokemon has the ability to cause neverending pain. A pain that no matter what you do. No matter what you try. It will never go away. No matter what. A flame that burns on forever with deadly toxins that cannot be exterminated.

This belonged to the Dark Pokemon Houndoom.

The Dark Pokemon snarled at the foals, intimidating them. Houndoom is already an intimidating Pokemon and some ponies are terrified of larger dogs so it was the perfect scare-tactic in a way.

"Nice doggie..." Sapphire Flash gulped as her and the class backed up into a wall. The automatic dex made this worse for the students actually by giving out Houndoom's entry.

"Houndoom. The Dark Pokemon. Long ago, people imagined its eerie howls to be the call of the grim reaper. The flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. If they cause a burn, it will hurt forever, with a 0% chance of getting rid of the eternal burn. Thus, giving this Pokemon the nickname of 'The Grim Reaper'."

"Houndoom!" The Dark Pokemon saw them as prey as it was ready to attack them all. It didn't hesitate running towards the foals and what didn't help was that if you run, Houndoom will persist and chase you down without showing any signs of stopping. Which is what they all did. They ran for their lives.

Unfortunately, the area around them was so small and encased that it was impossible to run anywhere else, giving Houndoom the opportunity to chase them in this one secluded spot for as long as it wants. The foals were doing their very best to avoid the Dark Pokemon, dodging the Flamethrowers that were being fired at them.

That's when Houndoom noticed one particular trainer who wasn't moving. Hollow. He was still asleep. Easy prey to damage. Houndoom went up to the resting trainer, using the move Fire Fang to bite onto his arm.

"Mr Hollow!" Sapphire Flash and the other foals cried out. They just saw their teacher get bitten by a Fire Fang. And it was enough to wake him up. The moment Houndoom's fangs dug into his hand, he could feel the intense pain swell up in him. Hollow was about to let out a horrifying scream but the thick hedge walls rose up once more, blocking out the sound.

So now the foals were all alone, trapped in a secluded space with only the corner and hedge around them. And there seemed to be no way out.

This overwhelming fear was getting to them, causing the little ponies. This was worse than they could ever imagine. And of course, it got worse. Because look who came to join in on the fun.

Drifloon. A Pokemon infamous for kidnapping children, causing them to vanish forever.

"Drif..."

Strangely enough, they got somewhat lucky that it was Drifloon that got them and not Houndoom. Because if Houndoom could Mega Evolve, its fearsome fiery breath can turn its opponents into ash.

And speaking of Ash. He and Pikachu were unaware of what was happening with the others. Due to the thick hedge walls around the funhouse, sounds were blocked from all sides.

"We really got split up with everyone, didn't we buddy?"

"Pika..."

The area they were in was considered to be the final area of the funhouse. If you were somehow lucky to make it through all of that, you would be introduced to this area. A hall of all the possible terrors and fears in the Pokemon world. Ranging from the horrifying cries of a Phantump when it used to be a child that got lost in the forest to Banette being a vengeful doll that was thrown and only wants to cause endless torture to whoever threw it away.

Thankfully, Ash already knows a lot about these Pokemon and has had his experiences with him so he wasn't terrified by this. The exit to the funhouse was right there and he could exit at any time, but he felt like going back to see if everyone was okay. Ash knows that funhouses tend to get pretty chaotic when someone gets lost in them. But he had no idea what was actually going on at this moment.

Twilight felt like going home already. She couldn't take much more of this. She felt like she was going to pass out from all this running. That's when she came across the final Pokemon of this funhouse. And it was in a room full of mirrors. Mirrors were it showed all of her friends being taken and attacked by the Pokemon they've encountered. She got to witness all of it, leaving her speechless. And there was one final mirror that hadn't been used and it was for this room. They saved the best for last.

A Mimikyu.

Twilight had very little knowledge about Mimkyu. But one knowledge she's heard about them is that underneath that dirty cloth...lies an unthinkable horror that can cause anyone to die of shock if they see it. It wasn't a good idea to be here in the same room with Mimikyu. Twilight was ready to make a run for it, pronto, but she was held in place by Glalie's ice beam freezing her hoof in place!

"Hey! Let me go!" She tried to break free but the ice was too hard for her. Cofagrigus came along to grab a hold of Twilight's face, making her keep her eyes open for this. They were each planning to have Twilight look at Mimikyu's true form.

The Disguise Pokemon used its secret black claw to slowly take off its cloth, ready to terrify Twilight with something unthinkable. The young alicorn tried free herself but it was no use. Cofagrigus's hands were making sure that she didn't get the chance to break free. Glalie added insult to injury by freezing her horn to prevent any magic.

It looked like it was about to be the end as Mimikyu was halfway done removing its cloth until...

A honey infested hand grabbed on Mimkyu, causing the Disguise Pokemon to faint. Team Rocket had shown up, camouflaged in sticky honey. They couldn't take it anymore. Having all this honey over them. It was even blocking their vision.

"W-What are those things?" Twilight stammered. Even Cofagrigus and Glalie had no idea what they were looking at. The honey-clad Team Rocket were walking towards Twilight like some sort of infected zombie horde. Cofagrigus and Glalie weren't up for this as they flew off, leaving Twilight behind.

Jessie grabbed onto Twilight's face, getting the honey on her as well. Twilight squirmed as the rest of Team Rocket grabbed onto her. Not even on purpose. They just couldn't see and the honey was burning their eyes a bit. Twilight felt like this was the inevitable end as the last thing she saw was the golden honey drip on her eye and the viewing of everypony inside of the funhouse meeting their doom via the Pokemon they've met by the mirrors of this area and that was that.

"Psst. Hey. Twilight. Wake up." A voice called for Twilight to open her eyes. The young alicorn had gasped, sitting up as she was just remembering everything that happened.

"W-Wha-Where-" Twilight was fumbling with her words, unable to finish her sentences properly. She looked around to see she was outside Ponyville. It was still nighttime with everypony walking about meaning Nightmare Night wasn't over yet.

"Pika?"

"You recovering okay?" Ash helped her up.

"Yeah...I think...What happened?" Twilight held her chest with her heart taking its time to recover.

"Pikachu and I came to see where everyone else went and we found you getting dogpiled by these weird yellow things which turned out to be Team Rocket. So Pikachu ended up blasting them away."

"Pika-Pikachu." Pikachu nodded.

"What about everypony else?"

"They're alright. Safe and sound, right over here," spoke Ben. And it was true. Everyone who was in the Funhouse was okay. As if nothing happened to them at all. Their costumes were clean without a single tatter on them at all. But...they were confused about what actually happened fully. Each of them fainted at the last second, but they still had memories of what happened but not how it happened.

"I'm still a bit shaken up...what happened?" Rainbow Dash sat down, scratching her mane.

"I saw Rainbow Dash being eaten by a Glalie!" Twilight leaned forward. "Pinkie Pie! Rarity! Your bodies were sucked dry! Sweetie Belle! You were squirming on the floor! Applejack you-"

"Slow down there, my little pony. You'll faint again." Ben calmed her down. All of that you experienced wasn't real."

"...It wasn't?"

"Well...most of it. You see...I did say that some of the Pokemon here aren't mine. But that doesn't mean they aren't tamed as well."

"R-Really?"

"Really. Some of these actually belong to Hollow."

"Mhm. Worked like a charm. Good job, Houndoom." Hollow petted his Houndoom who loved a good old head pat.

"Houndoom."

"Y-You were in on this, Mr Hollow?" Sunrise asked.

"That's right. Houndoom, Mimikyu and Dusclops were my Pokemon."

"And that Glalie was mine." Ash pointed at himself.

"Pikachu!"

"But...I saw everypony end up in horrible situations! It was horrifying!"

"That? Those were courtesy of Gothitelle over here." Ben turned to his partner Pokemon.

"Gothitelle."

"Gothitelle's psychic abilities can go so far to the point where they can create perfect illusions. Making it hard to separate fantasy from reality."

"Goth."

"...So...all of it was just illusions? Oh thank Celestia."

"Actually...not all of them. Some of them were real."

"...Which ones were real?"

"...I don't know. Never been in there." Ben shrugged.

"I'm glad you're all okay." Fluttershy was here as she was more worried than anypony else. "It must've been horrifying."

"Speaking of which...Sorry if it scared you all too much. Guess I went a bit too far." Ben felt guilty.

"Are you kidding? That was amazing!" Pinkie Pie bellowed.

"Yeah! That was the most fear I've ever felt before!" Sapphire Flash exclaimed, jumping up. Surprisingly, they all enjoyed it. Even Twilight to some extent. It exceeded their expectations to a ginormous degree.

"I gotta say...I'll never underestimate anything ever again after that." Applejack nodded.

"That was truly the best Nightmare Night experience yet," said Rarity. "I wouldn't mind experiencing it again next year"

"Mhm! Nothing's gonna scare me more than that." Scootaloo grinned.

"Well. Glad you all enjoyed it. Now...I'm a bit tired from all this standing around." Ben yawned. "I think I'd better leave now. See you all next time."

"I'm heading back too...Come on Houndoom." Hollow returned Houndoom to his Pokeball.

"It's crazy...To think Pokemon can be that terrifying. Well...at least it's mostly Pokemon that are meant to be terrifying like Ghost and Dark Types." Rainbow Dash sighed. Hearing this made both Hollow, Ben and Ash burst out with laughter. "What?"

"Hate to break it to you, Rainbow Dash. But the Dark-Types and Ghost-Types are the least terrifying Pokemon." Hollow grinned at her. What hollow said made everypony gulp.

"You mean...the other types are much worse?" Twilight shuddered as everypony was trembling in fear.

"Much, much worse." Ben nodded. "But! I'm sure that you won't end up having too many problems with them in the future considering how well you make friends! Have a great night, you all!" Ben waved goodbye, leaving with Hollow as they were off to have a rest.

"...Pokemon are terrifying." Applejack finally realized the truth of it all.

"I'm starving. Got any candy?" Jade asked.

"Jade. You weren't scared at all?" Pinkie turned to her.

"No. I can't really feel fear actually. Not yet anyways."

"Lucky! It'd be so awesome to be fearless!" Scootaloo shouted. They all had their chats as Nightmare Night continued.

The two Siren Sisters got their candy, but Sonata ended up eating it all, causing her stomach to ache.

"Ooogh..." She grumbled.

"Good going. You're gonna experience stomach pain for a week now."

"Ow..."

As for Team Rocket, they ended up back in Zecora's hut thanks to the Thunderbolt earlier. Zecora shook her head, knowing what Team Rocket gets to on a daily basis. But she had something planned for them in the near future.

Needless to say, this will be a night nopony will ever forget. This was just their first taste into how terrifying the Pokemon world can be. There is a guarantee that the more Pokemon they find, the more terrifying they'll become as the journey continues.
