The Tree of Beginning

Kanto Region. Near Rota. Afternoon.

The Tree of Beginning. Home to many Pokemon including the Mythical Pokemon Mew. Heading there were Ash and his friends. Pinkie Pies' Mew had become a Lugia to carry them all there, however, even with this legendary transformation and the sight of it in the far distance, the Tree of Beginning still took a long time to reach.

Upon soaring through the skies, they took the time to look at the scenery. Mew himself spotted the nearby hot springs that Ash and Pikachu were also familiar with. The sight of it captivated him as he let out a joyous cry.

"Oh. You want to go down there?" Pinkie Pie understood her partner.

"Oh yeah...Those hot springs." Ash reminisced about them. "Yeah. They're pretty relaxing. I could also get you that Time Flower you wanted, Rarity."

"Say no more." Rarity scooched over. "How about we all head down there to see just how good they are?"

"Aren't we supposed to be heading for the Tree of Beginning?" Starlight asked.

"We are, but we enjoy taking our time sometimes when adventuring," Twilight replied. "The tree's still far and we can still see it, so it'll be fine." And Mew agreed as he started descending with Lugia's massive body, carrying the wind with him. Getting close, they could already feel the warm embrace of the hot springs, making it a good sign already.

They all stopped for a moment to enjoy these hot springs while Ash and Pikachu were having a trip down memory lane at the moment. Upon reaching the hot springs and having Mew revert to his original form, they started taking in the heat. They would let all of their Pokemon feel the wonderful warmth and heat of the springs as well.

During the afternoon, the heat of these springs is increased by the sun as some of the Pokemon living around here found great leisure by either sitting in the spring for hours on end or just being near the heat. Truly, an amazing feeling for any species. Pokemon, human, pony or dragon.

"Ahh...Just as great as it was before." Ash said with a relaxed voice. His clothes along with Goh were put to the side for the meanwhile to let the heat sink in.

"Pikachu..." Pikachu melted, laying on his back along with Spike and Applejack. Applejack's hat was kept safely next to the clothes of Ash and Goh. Everyone's Mega Evolution accessories had been put aside as well. Pinkie Pie sprouted out of the spring, blowing out the water as if she was a fountain.

Noticeably, not every Pokemon was inside of the water. While each of them had been sent out, some stayed away from the water due to their weaknesses. Ninetales, The 10 Golett, Cinderace and Raboot respectively. This was a great time killer and frankly, something they all needed. They've been through their fair share of hyper-intense events. From invasions to Pokemon attacks, etc. They've always had time to relax but never in this way. It was a much-needed relief.

"Here, Absol!" Twilight and Starlight splashed some water on Absol, who was not amused. Absol stood there with a serious face as always whilst Twilight and Starlight simply giggled at his wet fur.

"Sol..." In response, Absol nudged his head in Espeon's direction, communicating with her as Espeon knew what to do next. By using Psychic, she ended up controlling the water molecules, splashing them onto Twilight and Starlight next. Payback for Absol.

Hatterene was twitching, trying to control herself from all these emotions flowing about. Mainly positive ones. Her claw was trembling, but she held herself back from doing anything irrational. Mewie also wanted to see another Mew as soon as possible but relaxing here wasn't so bad either.

"Mienfoo! Mienfoo!" Choosing not to partake in any leisure activities was Mienfoo, who'd much rather battle or train. Which is exactly what she was doing with Lucario and Sirfetch'd.

"Can you three take a break from all that battling and relax?" Rarity asked. "Pheromosa is a Fighting-Type and she knows how to take it easy."

"Mosa..." Pheromosa agreed, slumped on the back of a rock whilst in the hot spring.

"Lucario." Lucario and the other Fighting-Types weren't too keen on relaxing. They enjoyed it and it was definitely a satisfying feeling. However, they preferred getting stronger.

"That's their way of taking things easy. They wouldn't have it any other way." Rainbow Dash replied. "But they do know how to chill out a lot."

"Bay!" Catching the Fighting-Types off guard was Bayleef as she splashed water on them. Lucario, Mienfoo and Sirfetch'd flinched from the steamy water as Bayleef chuckled. "Bay-Bay!"

"Mienfoo...!" Mienfoo growled, only to get splashed in the face one more time by Bayleef. Bayleef snorted, puffing her cheeks so as to not laugh again, knowing that Mienfoo had a short temper.

"Lu." Lucario grabbed Mienfoo, knowing that she would let out her anger on Bayleef. She held the Martial Arts Pokemon back casually with just one arm whilst Mienfoo furiously flailed her arms and legs around.

"Ninetales." Ninetales, despite being a FIre-Type, did enjoy the heat of the hot springs. He placed his paw on the water, feeling it out. He couldn't fully enter but he could get a few molecules in there. Raboot tried the same thing, dipping his feet into the water.

"Gengar!" Attempting to scare Ninetales was Gengar, who had popped his face out of the water with his signature grin. However, Ninetales didn't even flinch or jump back. He simply laughed at Gengar's tomfoolery. "Gen?" Gengar uttered, surprised that Ninetales was unphased. But he certainly startled Raboot, who fell on his back, breathing in and out. "R-Raboot!"

"Cinccino!" Cinccino along with Delta Riolu jumped on the stomach of Dragonite who didn't seem to care. Dragonite was too entranced by the water.

"Tari." Altaria, under the influence and effect of the hot springs, ended up getting her fluffy cloud-like wings wet. She looked both adorable and hilarious with her feathers and drooping, causing Sceptile and Audino to chuckle at this.

"Axew? Axew!" Just then, whilst sitting on the head of Goodra, Axew spotted something of interest just on the cliffs. Ash and a few others looked over to see what caught Axew's eye.

A Time Flower.

"Oh, hey a Time Flower!" Ash stood up. "So it regrows in the same spot they're usually found in, huh. Here's a good time for me to give you one, Rarity."

"Ah, right! I did say I wanted some of those for personal reasons." Rarity commented.

"Personal reasons?" Twilight asked as Gengar went over to grab the Time Flower, levitating towards the cliff.

"Sometimes, you forget something crucial that you wish you could recall. And it ends up coming back to you far too late." The fashionista explained. "With that Time Flower, anything that slips my mind will be recalled in an instant."

"True that! But don't you need Aura to make that work? Only Ash and Applejack have something that good."

"That means it's perfect for me. I need something like that in case Granny Smith forgets something. Like she does a lot." Applejack scrunched her face, realizing how useful the Time Flower would be for Granny Smith.

"Bah, I can ask them both for help to activate it," said Rarity, slumping on Milotic. Gengar passed the flower to Ash who had then given it to Rarity. The Time Flower would only be used when needed. Granted, all it would take was Ash and Applejack's Aura to go off at the same time.

Eventually, after spending some more time at the hot springs, they would all eventually make their way back to the Tree of Beginning. The Time Flower was placed inside of Ash's bag for safety as Mew immediately turned himself into Lugia once more. While their hot springs moment had ended, it was something they wouldn't forget. And certainly a place they could come back to anytime.

The Tree of Beginning.

Finally. They had arrived. The Tree of Beginning was what they stood before. The group were near a beautiful patch of flowers while approaching the rest of the tree with most of them unaware of what was to come. Except for Ash and Pikachu.

They admired the scenery that the tree gave them before going through the entrance. And at the entrance, they were met with a cave that had an abundance of blue glowing crystals that were protruding out of this system. Spike felt the need to grab a bite from these crystals, licking his lips upon seeing them. But perhaps later as they were leaving the entrance of the cave with a bright light being seen at the end.

Once they passed through, they saw the tree at its fullest. They were starstruck by the massive lake of enigmatic aura that radiated a similar light to the crystals as this pristine environment held multiple waterfalls from an abundance of cliffs. At the top of this area, a large crystal could be seen, illuminating the area with its azure glow from the water to even the cliff the group was standing on.

Living here were multiple rare Pokemon. Such as Fossil Pokemon that were once extinct. Omanyte, Omastar, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Cradily and Armaldo respectively. This was truly a tree that was old enough to hold these rare Pokemon from so long ago.

Flying across the air of the tree were a flock of Swablu joined by some Yanma and Yanmega. Some Ledyba and Ledian could be spotted too, making Twilight flinch a bit from the sight of these Pokemon. But Ledian was less of a terror to her considering Aria owned one. Even Ash noticed some new rare Pokemon that he didn't see when he first came here years ago.

"We're here, gang. We're right under the Tree of Beginning." Ash said. "Be careful. This tree won't take too kindly to any visitors. It's got bodyguards here. Regirock. Registeel and Regice. Best not to get hostile with them or things could get ugly fast. But don't be afraid to defend yourself from whatever tries to hurt you."

"Pika-Pika."

"Another Regice is here?" Goh replied, surprised that there was another Regice lurking around the Tree of Beginning.

"We just got done meeting one yesterday." Starlight sighed.

"Mewie. The Mew living here is right at the top, okay?" Ash raised his hand, letting Mewie know where exactly to find the Mew that lives here.

"Mew-Mew? Mew!" Hearing that, the second Mew did not wait for a second. She immediately flew off to find the other Mew without hesitation.

"Mew!" Pinkie Pie's Mew promptly followed her.

"Hey, you two! Wait up!" And the third to follow was Pinkie Pie herself.

"I gotta check out all of these Pokemon!" Goh also rushed off to witness all the rare Pokemon that could be found in the Tree of Beginning.

"What do we do?" Fluttershy asked. "Besides looking around."

"We came here to see Mew, did we not? I say that should be our next move." Rarity pranced along. "Besides, this place is too beautiful to just keep standing around."

"Yeah and uh...you think it would be okay for me to grab a bite of these crystals?" Spike asked as everyone started exploring. But Ash was making sure to stay alert in all of this. He knew the dangers that the tree could give out. It saw humans as a threat. And the same could potentially be said for ponies and dragons.

"Remember, guys! Be careful!" Ash warned them, shouting out. He and Pikachu ended up following after Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, keeping an eye out for the tree's defences.

It was off to the very top. That was where Mew would reside. Mewie and Pinkie Pie's Mew rushed to the top as well, searching for any pathways that led to it. At the same time, they would admire the scenery.

Rarity looked through the various caves in this tree that housed so many crystals that it was almost intoxicating to look at. She entered one of the caves, seeing how it had an upper pathway. That could potentially lead to the top as Rarity went straight for it with Applejack joining her.

"All of these crystals. Do you suppose they're related to Aura?" Rarity asked. "That blue glow looks far too familiar."

"Might be." Applejack replied. "Aura's been there from the start, right? So this Tree of Beginning would have some of it."

"Oh, I wonder what it would be like if I take some home with me? Do you think I could make a necklace out of Aura? Oh! How about an earring out of Aura? A bracelet perhaps? The possibilities are endless!"

"Yeah, that'd be..." But just as Applejack was about to finish off Rarity's sentence, her Aura kicked in, sensing some imminent danger. Applejack gasped, turning to the upper pathway of the cave. "Hold on! Something's coming!"

"Hm? What is it?" Rarity asked. Not a second sooner and that feeling that Applejack sense came into fruition via a burst through the walls of the cave. Starling them and their Pokemon, the crystals on the walls had been blown away with a massive hole being made.

And the one responsible for that hole was Regirock.

"R-R-REGIROCK!"

"What is that?!" Rarity gasped as the crystals shards flew past her. Their first time witnessing a Regi and it was not a pleasant or friendly one as RegirocK was instantly targeting the two ponies.

"It's one of those Regis!"

"ÜN ÜN ÜN!" Regirock saw Applejack and Rarity as a threat. Ash's bad feeling came into fruition as the Rock Peak Pokemon went straight for Hyperbeam. A destructive orange ball of Infinity Energy was forming in front of its face, ready t be unleashed.

"Duck!" Applejack cried out, grabbing Rarity and forcing her to duck along with her as the raging beam of Hyper Beam had been unleashed. Sceptile and Delta Riolu ducked as well. The beam obliterated parts of the walls with shards of these crystals dropping from above and the side along with some rubble. Regirock now needed some time to recharge before attacking once more. "What's up with this one?!"

"Ash did mention the hostility of one of these Regi-Pokemon! It seems that was true!" Rarity replied as she stood up. She immediately used her magic to summon a Poke Ball.

"R-R-R-ROCK!" Regirock had recovered surprisingly quickly from using Hyperbeam. With that recovery, it went straight for Stone Edge next, unleashing massive blue crystals from the ground by simply stepping forward.

"Sceptile! Leaf Blade!"

"Pheromosa! Come out and use Triple Kick!" Rarity unleashed Pheromosa into the fray as Sceptile extended his bladed arms to counter against the approaching crystals.

"Scep...Tile!" Sceptile slashed some of the crystals apart with his blades whilst Pheromosa dashed past him in a second.

"Mosa!" Pheromosa kicked one crystal, which ended up transitioning into a second kick that shattered the next and finally, the third kick obliterated the last crystal. They did not attack Regirock, remembering Ash's advice of defending themselves. They could protect themselves from whatever attacks came their way instead of rumbling with the Rock Peak Pokemon or any other of the Regis.

"ÜN ÜN ÜN!" Regirock didn't stop there. It had then slammed its arms into the ground, using Earthquake. This part of the cave started trembling, throwing Sceptile, Pheromosa and their trainers off-balance with this sudden tremor. Large amounts of rubble were starting to fall from this impact, threatening to crush them all.

"Phero!" Seeing the threat of the collapsing area, Pheromosa grabbed onto Applejack, Rarity, Sceptile and even Delta Riolu to immediately leave before it all comes crashing down. By holding onto them, Pheromosa used her amazing speed to rush forward. She leapt over the golden shockwaves of Earthquake before then putting her leg out to kick Regirock out of the way.

"REGI! REGIROCK!" However, thanks to its absurdly gigantic defence, Regirock not only took the hit, but it had also used pushed Pheromosa back by flexing parts of its body. Pheromosa's leg felt this pushback as she was prevented from going any further. Thanks to her fragile body, Regirock simply exerting energy from its body was enough to knock her over.

"P-Phe!" She dropped Applejack and the others too in the process of it. Applejack and Rarity grunted before getting back up. They felt some rubble on their backs as it had fallen off.

"ÜN ÜN ÜN!" Regirock would not let them go. It approached the group with Hammer Arm being prepared.

"Ash said we shouldn't try and be hostile with it but...I'm having second thoughts here." Applejack growled, adjusting her hat.

"I agree." Rarity nodded. With Regirock in their way, standing at the entrance of all places, it was hard not to do something about it. RRegirock would not target the Pokemon but considering they were helping Rarity and Applejack, the Rock Peak Pokemon saw that they needed to be subdued first before reaching the Pokemon Trainers.

But it wasn't the only Regi on high alert.

Elsewhere, Goh, Starlight and Spike were on a bridge made out of vines. It was surprisingly stable despite the way it was built as it looked like they were walking on a tightrope. Just slightly thicker than normal. Goh had his Rotomphone out, recording everything here at the Tree of Beginning for not just his Pokemon Research, but also for Project Mew.

"This place. If I'm right, we could use this for Project Mew. It could also give out answers for the origin of Pokemon. I mean, Beginning is in the name right?" Goh commented.

"It could be where most Pokemon came from." Starlight theorized. "Or at least one of the many places. Those Fossil Pokemon might not know of some of their own species being extinct for a long time or even being brought back."

"It's probably been here from the start. Maybe." Spike added.

"Maybe all of this could get me a lot of tokens for Project Mew." Goh giggled before facing the Rotomphone north. The second he did, the next Regi had already appeared, coming into view of his phone and standing near the vine bridge.

Regice.

"Huh?!" Goh gasped, recognizing that Pokemon as he had just seen it yesterday.

"REGICE! RE-REGICE!"

"Regice again?!" Starlight bellowed as Regice had used Ice Beam on the vine bridge. Immediately, it had caused a flash-freeze that spread across the bridge in seconds. The trio were aghast as the bridge was now fragile in this state, covered in ice. It was worse for Spike and Axew, who were sensitive to the cold being cold-blooded creatures.

The weight of them each was already starting to break the now transformed ice bridge with their balance being disrupted. They could already feel their feet becoming cold from this chilling aura.

"C-Cold!" Goh could feel it through his shoes and socks, almost falling over. Starlight shuddered before using her magic to hold everyone and the bridge in place from falling.

"I-I g-g-gotcha!" Starlight shudder. However, there was the threat of Regice still present.

"REGIIIIICE!" After freezing the bridge, to make matters worse, Regice had used Flash Cannon on the bridge, immediately shattering it. The intent to make them fall was very clear as the bridge had been obliterated thanks to its fragility.

However, they were still safe thanks to Starlight, who held them all up with her magic. They were now levitating as the bridge beneath them had shattered with ice shards dropping. Now all they needed to do was find a safe spot to land at.

"REGICE!" The Iceberg Pokemon continued attacking, using Flash Cannon once more while they were in the air.

"Axew! Transform and use block it!" Spike commanded.

"Axew!" Axew was brought to the front by Starlight, immediately taking on his superior form. The golden light enveloped him, altering his size. Right on time as Flash Cannon threatened to hit Starlight's head. Starlight closed her eyes before being shielded. "Haxorus!" Emerging out of the light and blocking the blast of Flash Cannon was Equestrian Haxorus.

Starlight searched for somewhere to land. The best place to be right now was one of the cliffs. She brought her friends there as the cliff was also high up away from Regice which was one advantage they could certainly use. They all descended on the cliff with Regice being below.

"That got too close!" Goh exclaimed, sitting on the cliff. Regice watched, still not letting up its assault on them. "We've dealt with Regice already but..."

"Ash told us not to be hostile or we'll make things worse. I say we leave." Starlight suggested the safer option."

"REGICE!" However, as soon as they started having a conversation, Regice found a truly clever way to get up to the cliff. It ended up using Ice Beam on the ground, forming a rising ice platform with an abundance of shards sticking out. With the strength of its Ice Beam, it made the platform massive in a matter of seconds. It even spread out to the spot where the bridge was, essentially making a backup bridge for the tree.

"Awesome!" Spike and Goh were both terrified and amazed by Regice's skill to perform such an act.

"Not the time to be impressed!" Starlight bellowed as Regice jumped from the platform it had made, having the necessary height to reach Goh and the others. It landed right on the edge of the cliff, making it tremble.

"REGICE!" Regice had come face to face with them once more. Haxorus stepped forward, ready to defend his friends from Regice, even if it meant getting hostile. This was the second Regi that had found some of Ash's friends, unaware of who they were with.

Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie and the duo of Mews kept going nowhere else but up. Any pathway that led to the top was within their sights. They went through various cave systems and upwards paths, admiring the scenery. And upon venturing through the systems, they ran into Twilight and Espeon.

"There you are!" Pinkie Pie waved at them. "Did you find a shortcut?"

"No. This place is too massive to have easy shortcuts." The Princess of Friendship shook her head. "But I heard some tremors somewhere. You don't think the Regis found the others, do you?"

"Mew..."

"Maybe. But they can handle themselves. I just hope the tree's not out for us. It's gotta recognize Mew, right?"

"Hopefully. But the crystals have me just as curious." Twilight held one of the glowing crystals in her hoof. "It's definitely related to Aura in some way."

"It's got that blue glow for sure. Ooh! I say we try it on those Time Flowers!" Pinkie Pie pranced past Twilight as the group continued on their way to the top.

They left this cave system before entering another one. This time, the next cave had some flair compared to the others. It had a dark blue and green ambience and lighting, unlike the other caves. More of those crystals could be found but they were much longer than the previous ones. The lake here was also on a large scale with rare Water-Types swimming about.

It was hard to tell if they were close to Mew at this point. But all they could do was go up. To do that, they would have to cross the massive cliff gap that was on the other side with the lake in between. Another cave entrance could be seen with an upwards path being spotted.

But as soon as Twilight went to spread her wings out, emerging from the cave was the third and final Regi that guarded the Tree of Beginning. Twilight halted her wings with Espeon assuming a stance that showed she was ready for whatever would threaten her friends.

Registeel.

"∙∙·▫▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ яＥģ丨𝓈ᵗ𝔼ᵉᒪ ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫▫·∙∙!" Registeel cried out with a cry that was harder to understand than the other Regis.

"Who's that Pokemon?!" Pinkie Pie pulled out her Pokedex, reading the entry for Registeel.

"Registeel." Twilight already knew about Registeel thanks to the books of the Pokemon World she owned.

"Registeel. The Iron Pokemon. Registeel has a body that is harder than any kind of metal. Its body is apparently hollow. No one has any idea what this Pokémon eats. Registeel was imprisoned by people in ancient times. The metal composing its body is thought to be a curious substance that is not of this earth. Tempered by pressure underground over tens of thousands of years, its body cannot be scratched."

Standing before them and threatening to rid Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie from the tree's presence was the last Regi. Most of them were now dealing with their own Regis. For the sake of the Tree of Beginning, all threats must be eliminated. That drive never faded away even after Ash and his previous friends were here and it certainly wouldn't be ignored by individuals from another world as the journey continues.

I hope those White Blood Cells don't get the group. Those scenes freaked me out when I saw the 8th movie.
