Nightmare-Influence

Unova. Out in the seas. Near Virbank City. Day.

The Grand Equestria continued on its way with Manaphy being the guide towards the Sea Temple. As for the Grand Equestria, repairs were needed after last night's attack. Even with the parts returned, the ship still needed some proper repairs.

Luckily, stopping by Virbank City was the way to go. It was always shown to be a port city with many hangars, docks and waterways. The Grand Equestria had stopped by her for repairs. And in the meanwhile, it would also be a way for everyone to take their mind of the intense night they had defending the ship, saving some Scrafty etc.

"The first sail with this ship in Equestria's history and it has already suffered some damage," said Luna, looking up at the Grand Equestria. "It's not the worst outcome at least."

"The Golurk and everyone did a great job protecting it even still," Ash replied. "If it wasn't for them, we'd all be swimming at sea and being messed with the blockade thanks to that attack."

"I say we find them and make them pay." Adagio hissed, already having revenge on her mind. "Big-time!" Her eyes then flashed red after emphasizing her last word.

"Uh, before we do that, let's find the Sea Temple first?" Flash stammered. "And repairing the ship before any of that too."

"We can't slow down, either." Shining Armor went to the pegasus. "Now that we know they're on an equal pace as us, getting there without any interrupts is out of the question."

"Everypony lounge around here until the ship is repaired," Luna ordered before facing Ash. "And um...Ahem. Ash. You've been here before, haven't you?"

"Yep. A lot. Man some good times come from this town." A nostalgic Ash thought back to all the times he's shown up to Virbank City. Each memory of it was just pleasant overall.

"In that case. You wouldn't mind if we took a stroll around the city, would you?" Luna tried navigating her words, trying her very best not to show her burning affection for Ash by bringing up mundane things.

"Oh, sure." But exciting or mundane, Ash will partake in it."We'll have a great time while the ship's being repaired. Come on, I'll show you all of Virbank." Ash would give Luna a tour of what Driftveil had to offer.

Luna then turned around, gazing at the guards before having a victory grin on her face. She then hovered over the ground before pumping her hooves and letting out a quiet "Yes!"

The guards just shrugged, unaware as to why Princess Luna would say a silent yes while also pumping her hoof. Confused, they just pumped their hooves too to try and play along. Adagio already had something on her mind.

PokeStar Studios. Virbank City was home to this entertaining location. And during her first time there with her sisters, Adagio truly enjoyed herself, unable to resist going back. And now was a good time as any to try it out while the ship was being repaired.

"Excellent. I can shoot another one today in the meanwhile. But I'll need a cast..." Adagio pondered before turning around to face the guards. The siren then pointed her hoof at them all with vigour. "All of you! Come with me. We, mostly me, are going to make movie history."

"Huh?" Flash Sentry and all the guards spoke, unaware of what Adagio had planned for them all. Their poor souls were now bound to something they could not escape until Adagio was satisfied.

While walking through the streets of Virbank, Ash decided to also show Luna PokeStar Studios. She had never seen it for herself and what it had to offer. So far, a few ponies have visited this fun location.

However, while they went off to have fun, extra assistance was coming their way. Right after they had reported to Princess Celestia about the attack last night, the Princess of the Sun decided to send help. And recalling Ash's story about the Sea Temple, she knew exactly who to send.

The Human World. Canterlot. Day.

"So it's back to the Sea Temple, is it?" Jackie. Jackie was the one who would give out assistance as he had his experience with the Sea Temple. He was speaking through a phone that connected to the Ranger Union, receiving this information.

"That's right, Jackie. Sorry if it's sudden and getting in the way of your current mission."

"No, it's fine. Makes me feel nostalgic anyway. I'll just finish off the problem happening over here in this world and be on my way." Jackie then hung up as he was currently on a tree.

Jackie came here after receiving reports of trouble ongoing in this parallel world. Mainly due to when one of the few gateways to it had been found. Jackie then jumped off the tree, continuing on his mission.

Meanwhile, just around Canterlot, Rarity was currently with Applejack and Fluttershy as each of them were preparing for Christmas. Both worlds in separate universes were perfectly in sync for the approaching holidays. The same day and the same time as well.

"Do you think it'll be safe to have the Pokemon around for Christmas?" Rarity asked. "I mean, personally speaking, I can already sense a mess coming along."

"I'm sure it'll be a good idea," Fluttershy replied. "The few ones I have back home are so well behaved. Especially that Audino. They'd be great at Christmas. Not sure about everyone else though..."

"Sunset's Pokemon might make it. But that Snorlax Pinkie Pie caught might eat everything...Probably faster than what she did last Christmas." Applejack sighed, recalling an unfavourable scenario on that one Christmas day.

As they were discussing, Jackie came along, reaching a lower ground as he had some questions to ask the locals of this town. And they were the first he spotted as he noticed how they resembled their Equestria counterparts. Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack were startled, but soon calmed down for a bit once they saw Jackie's arrival.

"Oh my!" Fluttershy's heart skipped a beat.

"Sorry for the shock." Jackie stood up tall. "You remind me of certain ponies so I thought being all stylish would be nice to show off."

"It was stylish I guess. And uh...who are you?" Applejack asked with squinted eyes.

"Jack Walker." Jackie looked down at them with his signature cocky yet capable smirk. "Call me Jackie please."

And instantly, at the first glance, while Fluttershy and Applejack would greet him back casually, there was something different with Rarity's approach. She saw Jackie's fairly clean-cut face and how unusually pulchritudinous he looked. But that was to be expected. Jackie keeps himself clean at all times.

Always having a slick blonde hairstyle with him, followed by a dazzling grin with his teeth. Just the type of things that attracted Rarity as she was instantly smitten.

"W-Well, hello Jackie~." Rarity swooned, trying to keep her composure. She put her arms behind her back afterwards before stealthily making eyes at Jackie. "What can we do for you, darling?"

"Well, I was hoping you all have seen a runaway Pokemon by here. See I'm a Pokemon Ranger and I'm currently on a small mission. A few of the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys have had their Pokemon go rouge and flee all of a sudden. I was tracking some of them down and it led me to here. Now I've lost their trail."

"Sorry. But we haven't seen any." Fluttershy shook her head in response.

"Nothing from me." So did Applejack. "But I did hear some pretty weird footsteps nearby. Sounded like a bunch of squeaking. Is that something?"

"Pokemon have pretty distinct footsteps. Some squeaky, some heavy and some don't exist. Thanks for the tip." Jacke gave a thumbs up. "Now I know I came to the right place."

"Well, you certainly found yourself in the right place today." Rarity smiled, trying to be smooth with her words. "Is this your first time? And you said we reminded you of certain ponies, right?"

"Oh, yeah. My first time in this world. Bit freaky but I'll get used to it. Plus, I remember your names. You're the counterparts to Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack, correct?" He asked as they each nodded in confirmation. "Knew it."

"Are you a friend of Ash as well?" questioned Fluttershy.

"That just makes it better." An intrigued Rarity went close to him. "How about after your little Pokemon chase, you stay here and we can tour you around this freaky world."

"Love to but I have another mission to get to after this one. Ash and everyone need my help for the Sea Temple." Jackie shut it down, making Rarity upset, but still optimistic. "Maybe another time when I'm not busy."

"Oh, that's fine." Rarity shrugged while watching Jackie walk away to find the missing Pokemon. Rarity could only smile before nudging Applejack.

"Hm? What?" But Applejack was unaware of Rarity's hints, making the fashionista pout.

"A real catch, isn't he? Ash certainly has some handsome friends." Rarity giggled as Applejack finally got what she meant. All Applejack could do was shake her head and sigh.

"Yeah. Sure, Rarity."

Equestria. Pie Family Rock Farm. Day.

At the Pie Family Rock Farm, there was currently a guest over there. But not a guest who was aware of the current location they were in. That guest was Emerald Aura, who had just passed out two days ago after a fairly intense conflict against the Rift.

For the first time ever, Emerald Aura felt tired as the Rift had removed the infinite stamina that resides in all Rift Creations, resulting in her feeling fatigued. But, this was not Emerald's first time fainting. A similar situation like this happened back at Sweet Apple Acres.

This was now the second Earth Pony family she was in without her knowing. Only this time, she woke up earlier than expected. Emerald groaned, opening her eyes to see two ponies and two Pokemon staring at her.

Three of them had stern faces while one had a shy face. These were Limestone Pie with her partner Tyranitar, who currently had a Larvitar being held. And the other was Marble Pie.

"Aaah!" Emerald gasped, backing up on the bed before having her head smashed into a nearby rock that acted as a pillow for the bed. "Ow...!" She cried out.

"Good, you're awake." Limestone said with her usual aggressive tone.

"Huh? What?" Emerald breathed in and out, taking in the scene around her. She then realized that she had gone through her second awakening inside of a farm. "Oh...not again..." She sighed. But she then remembered how this had happened.

The clash between the Rift led to this. And trying to warn Cold Colt as well. But that went poorly as shown by her current predicament. "Did you two bring me in?"

"Mhm." Marble nodded in confirmation whilst hiding behind Tyranitar.

"You just showed up out of nowhere. And near Houlder's Bouler too." Limestone nudged her head at the window, showing Emeral the infamous boulder that Limestone holds so dear to her. "You were lucky that you were passed out when you appeared next to it."

"Uh, T-Thanks..." Emerald pulled back after being given a narrowed stare from Limestone. "I appreciate the hospitality, but I should get going right now."

"Was waiting for you to say that. Tyranitar and Larvitar here need that bed after all."

"Huh? No way a Tyranitar can sleep on this!" Emerald aimed her hoof at the bed. Larvitar then hopped off of Tyrantirar's grasp, landing on the bed. Due to Larvitar being able to casually cause earthquakes by just walking, once she jumped on the bed, she made Emerald bounce.

"Larvitar!"

"Woah!" Emerald cried out before having her head hit the ceiling. She then fell back down, landing flat on the floor instead of the bed. "Ow..." Cosmic magic slightly sparked from her horn.

"Hm?" Limestone then looked ahead, noticing the cosmic sparks emanating from her horn. The magic seemed familiar to her, reminding her of a certain pony. "Hang on...You're a Rift Pony?"

"Yeah..." Emerald groaned, raising her head while still laying on the floor. "What of it?"

"So you know Cold Colt, right?"

"Yeah, a good friend of mine. Why?"

"Well, why didn't you say so?" Limestone walked over, helping Emerald off the floor. "Any friend of Cold is a friend of mine. He's a good kid after all."

"Really?" Emerald blinked for a moment, collecting her thoughts. "I mean...I guess that makes sense. You're close to the Apple Family, aren't you?"

"Sure are. Cold and them come here often with Pinkie Pie. Aside from Pinkie, that kid knows how to make some fun with that magic of his. Being able to do almost anything has its perks."

"That's good. Wish I could say the same about me." Emerald sighed, looking up at her horn. "My magic's been weakened thanks to the Rift. I'm not sure how much I can do now."

"Not that bad, right?"

"Uh..."To test it out, Emerald would use her magic to think of anything she could. With cosmic lights flaring out and Limestone backing up, the group watched this cosmic force play out.

And what happened was that Emerald could conjure up a nice sofa, table, bookshelf, furnace for the winter, some delicious food, hot coffee, warm scarves around the necks of Limestone and the others with the perfect sizes and everything fit for winter relaxation.

"Hah..." Emerald sighed, surprised that it took that much energy for her to do this. Limestone, Marble, Tyranitar and Larvitar looked at their scarves, finding their comfiness pleasurable. "Worked like a charm."

"This is nice and all but...Can you turn it back?" Limestone requested, preferring how the room looked before. "But you can keep the scarves."

"Right." Emerald used her magic once more but soon came to realize a shocking revelation. Everything she had summoned stayed. Nothing had left. "W-What the?"

"Hey. I said get rid of it." Limestone was expecting the creations to vanish right about now.

"I'm trying but...!" Emerald's horn flashed as she had another attempt, but with no success. "It's not working."

"Not working?!" Limestone roared.

"I swear I didn't plan this!" Emerald put her hooves out, knowing that Limestone can get fairly aggressive over small things. She then had another go, but nothing happened. "It's my magic! It's all screwy now! If I wanted to get rid of all of this I would but I can't right now."

Limestone then took a deep breath, keeping her composure and retaining her anger. "It's fine. There's more than one way to get rid of this stuff."

The obvious and best way. Utter destruction. And no Pokemon resembled this better than Tyranitar. Right through the window, startling a nearby Vullaby with how loud the window crash was, Tyranitar, Larvitar and even Limestone threw the objects out with full force.

But it wasn't over yet. "Dark Pulse!" She ordered them both. The Mother and Daughter combined their powers together, sending out a double Dark Pulse that eventually merged to create a bigger Dark Pulse. All of the objects outside had been eradicated by the combined Dark Pulses as Emerald watched in intimidated astonishment.

"There. Problem solved." Limestone dusted her hooves.

"Talk about excessive..." Emerald said to herself before realizing how stumped she was. "But this isn't good. How am I gonna get around now? Does my teleport even work anymore? What if I end up someplace else?" Panic was starting to overtake her. "No. I can just walk there...But it'll take so long..."

"What are you complaining about? Just use your magic to make something that'll take you there." Limestone shrugged. "You can at least do that too, right?"

"Oh." Emerald made a poker face. "R-Right. I can do that." With full concentration, Emerald was ready to see if her magic extended towards transportation. The best she could create was a scooter. A rocket-powered scooter for extra speed.

Marble and the others gawked at it as Emerald was glad she could at least make something capable and useful. The Rift didn't weaken her too drastically. "Alright!" She hopped onto the scooter. "I'll be off now. Thanks for keeping me around for a bit. I'll say hello to Cold for you."

"You do that. Thanks for the scarf by the way." Limestone and the others showed off their scarves. But in an instant, Limestone's smile transformed back into a frown with lowered eyes. "Just don't teleport near my boulder again next time."

"Uh...I-I'll try and be careful next time." A nervous Emerald Aura said before moving with her scooter. She jumped through the broken window for style points. After that, she was off to Ponyville. And it would be a long way there.

Virbank City. PokeStar Studios.

"Okay, listen up and listen closely," Adagio spoke to the guards in the Dressing Room. "This movie, featuring me..." She stopped to pose for some glamour points. "Needs all the help it can get for it to be perfect. And we don't have all the time in the world because of the whole Sea Temple thing. So, let's make it quick and precise. All of you are going to help make this film for me."

"Do we have to?" A guard sighed.

"I don't know it sounds kinda fun." Flash Sentry and a few other guards agreed to try this out. They rarely get to have fun most of the time.

"Good. Now we practised this a few months back." Adagio hopped onto a chair with her hooves crossed. "I told you we'd be here eventually. You all know your roles, so get to it."

"Yes ma'am!" The Canterlot Guards saluted as since Adagio had them all under her control plus the perk of being Celestia's student, made it so that they listened to her every word. Minus Flash Sentry since he was a Crystal Empire guard. He watched as all the Canterlot Guards scattered, bringing objects to Adagio at rapid speeds.

Adagio had her non-existent nails that she once had as a human adjusted with a nail filer. AKA her hoof. Her mane had been freshened up as a box of clothes fit for ponies was brought over. Adagio then opened her mouth as a mouth freshener was sprayed at her.

"Uh...W-What about me? What do I do?" Flash asked, feeling left out.

"You're the odd-one-out." Adagio referred to how Flash Sentry looked strikingly different from every other guard by a margin. "If I'm going to make a great movie, I suppose I should have someone else to accompany me. With how much you stand out, you're perfect um..." Adagio paused, trying to remember Flash's name. "Crash, right?"

"It's Flash."

"Yeah, sure, that. I'll make you the moping sidekick. How does that sound?"

"That sounds horrible!" Flash exclaimed.

"Fine. Cocky sidekick then. Those get great comedic moments. As for me, I will play the role of the graceful, opportunistic, generous queen with divine blood."

"W-What kind of movie are you even planning on making?" Flash stammered, confused by this character theme.

"It's creativity. Don't question, okay?" Adagio chuckled with a pompous laugh, already fitting the role of a queen perfectly.

"How'd I get roped into this...?" Flash sighed, knowing there was no escaping from this scenario. The other guards were in the same boat as him.

The Grand Equestria. Day.

And speaking of the Grand Equestria, some of the troops from the attack last night were still inside the ship's prison cells. While it was being repaired, Shining Armor and some Crystal Empire guards were there to interrogate the troops. But so far, none of them spoke the truth or anything valuable.

"It's impossible, captain." A guard spoke to Shining Armor. "No matter what we say, they won't reveal anything useful to us."

"There's not a crack in our heads." A troop tapped smirked, tapping her head with her hoof. "Try all you want, but we're as loyal to Empress Daybreaker as we can possibly be." The other imprisoned troops agreed with them as none of them could expose anything.

Except for Empress Twilight's troops. They had already revealed their fair share of things as they were seemingly weak-willed compared to Daybreaker's troops.

"Hmm...What to do, what to do?" Shining Armor pondered for a moment. That was when he recalled something about Aegislash. "Hang on a minute...Who here has a Pokedex with them?"

"Uh...I have one, captain." A guard revealed the Pokedex to Shining Armor. The Captain of the Royal Guard then used her magic to take the Pokedex, aiming at the Royal Sword Pokemon.

"Alright. Pokedex. Tell me some fun facts about Aegislash." He requested.

"Aegislash. The Royal Sword Pokemon. Generations of kings were attended by these Pokémon, which used their potent spectral power to manipulate and control people and Pokémon. It once used its powers to force people and Pokémon to build a kingdom to its liking."

"All that I needed to hear." The unicorn smirked before facing the prisoners. But they still look unaffected, not worried about this potential manipulation. "Okay, Aegislash. Go for it."

"Aegis. Aeigslash." The Royal Sword Pokemon stood before the ponies. By using his Ghostly abilities, he emanated an enigmatic aura that surrounded the opposing ponies. The goal was to manipulate them to tell the truth.

They didn't look worried at first, believing in their strong resilience against manipulation. Unfortunately, their world only accounted for manipulation via magic. Not manipulation via Ghosts. Thus, Aegislash was able to get through to them.

"Uh oh." They said before soon realizing how the Royal Sword Pokemon had them right where he wanted them.

"Let's try this again. First question. How is it that you managed to know about our departure to the Sea Temple on this very day?" Shining Armor questioned.

"I-It... It...!" The troop and the others tried resisting, but it was no use. Aegislash had them blocked off from fully resisting it. They couldn't help but reveal what they could. "It's because of our brilliant ruler's Grand Eye Spell!"

"Grand Eye Spell?"

"It's what Empress Twilight had used during the invasion. That giant eye in the sky. But Empress Daybreaker's extends not just to one universe, but multiple and on a smaller scale!"

"So that's how she did it. Hers is vaster across more worlds yet smaller? That's pretty scary actually." Shining Armor shuddered, looking around as he was wondering if Daybreaker was watching right now. "So is she watching us now?!"

"Only when she wants to."

"That still doesn't make me feel safe. Next question. What's over at Samiya? Why does she need power from the Sea Temple and what is it for?"

"For Necrozma. The Sea Temple is said to have tremendous amounts of light within it. Necrozma needs light. More than anything. The crystals there are said to give off astronomical amounts. C-Can I be free now?!" She cried out, trying to break free from Aegislash's' control.

"That's it? Thought there'd be more to it." Shining Armor shrugged. "How much light does Necrozma need."

"A-Apparently...Oh, this hurts..." She groaned for a bit. "Apparently, this Necrozma requires more light than other Necrozma. The universe it originally came from lacked all the light in the world. Something else beat Necrozma to it. Because of that, Necrozma's light intake is so great that not even the light of a whole planet could satisfy it. So it's looking for more."

"So those crystals have that much light in them do they? Enough for this entire world? Somehow I'm not surprised." At this point, Shining Armor had come to expect ludicrous feats and possibilities when it comes to the Pokemon World. Even the items were absurd. "Those are the questions I have for now. You can stop now, Aegislash."

"Aegis." Aegislash ended his control on them. But the aftermath made their heads spin as well as befuddling them. Some of the prisoners even went to sleep after that trip.

"Alright. Send everything we've heard to Princess Celestia." He said to his group as the guards saluted. And get something to eat too. We might leave by the afternoon. That moon's starting to come up fairly quickly because of winter."

"Yes sir!"

9 hours later.

9 hours had passed. The ship had been repaired and was ready to go. But Ash and the others were still over at Virbank's popular attraction. They would return soon. In fact, just now, Ash and Luna were just leaving PokeStar Studios.

"I quite enjoyed that, Ash. We even obtained some memorable pictures in the meanwhile." Luna spoke as she and Ash took pictures together in a photo booth. Most of them were silly faces. One of which involved Darkrai getting a sneaky photobomb without him knowing.

"Sure was. Do you wanna show that movie to Celestia when we get back?" He asked. The movie they made involved all of their Pokemon, resulting in a massive cast.

"Pikachu?"

"Of course! Oh, where did Manaphy go exactly? I've rarely seen her as recently besides last night leading to today."

"Manaphy decided to stay on the ship. She felt a bit weird after last night." He replied. "Kinda worried. Do you think she's ill?"

"Not sure. Hopefully, it had nothing to do with the island or even the seas themselves."

What of Manaphy exactly? She was certainly at the location of the Grand Equestria. Just not within it. Instead, Manaphy was outside the ship, just in the seas near the port. Due to the appearance of the moon, the Seafaring Pokemon felt off. She felt compelled to come outside and stare at the moon.

"Phy...Mana..." She uttered. That was when Nightmare Rarity's magic started responding to her and the moon itself. The effect does work best during the night. But it wasn't just that.

With the wisp of the Nightmare magic flying out of her, something was materializing out of thin air. The visage and silhouette of a pony were forming. A fairly tall one. This was the pony of the night herself. A Fashionista now turned to another side, unleashing the full capabilities of her magic.

Nightmare Rarity.

She had shown up to the scene due to this wisp. The magic installed within Manaphy, at night, allowed Nightmare Rarity to appear at any location as long as her magic was active.

"Thank you for summoning me, little one." Nightmare Rarity said. "Ooh, you're so cute too. But I would've preferred you to do it earlier. I was just about to freshen myself up, darling."

"Manaphy..."

"We'll need you to get to the Sea Temple without them. Daybreaker won't mind if I make a little shortcut." Indeed, what Nightmare Rarity was about to do was not under Daybreaker's request. But she didn't care at all. "You will come with us to the Sea Temple and guide us instead of them. But those friends of yours are persistent. I'm positive that distractions won't matter much to them. Especially that Darkrai. But hey...let's give it a shot."

Nightmare Rarity knew of the best possible distraction. She looked at the city of Virbank while hovering over the water, choosing the citizens there. Out of her horn, a nightmare wisp came zooming out. It instantly went for the first individual it would target.

A worker bringing cargo to Vibrank was the first to be hit at the back of his head unbeknownst to him. "Ow!" He cried out, holding the back of his head.

"You okay?" His fellow worker asked.

"Fine. Something sharp stung though." He groaned. But right after that wisp hit him, it multiplied, seeping out of the back of his head. The wisps then scattered, moving across the floor rapidly.

The worker then placed the cargo down, no longer feeling that sharp sting. Instead, he was feeling something else. Right before the eyes of his fellow workers, his body colour was transforming. Transforming into the colour of the night sky.

"Oh! What the?!" They gasped before seeing their fellow worker gain a night-sky body. But as the wisps multiplied, they started hitting the other workers plus their Pokemon.

They all felt something different each time the wisps passed them by. They didn't even need to touch their heads. All they needed to do was graze their feet for the effect to take place. Soon, all of them were feeling changes.

"W-What's happening?" The first worker said as they were all perplexed, unaware of what was happening to them.

"Hm?" Luna stopped for a moment as she felt a familiar presence. So did Ash, wondering what Luna's senses had picked up on. "This magic..." A familiar feeling that Luna once had but cast aside long ago. And now it belongs to a familiar pony. "It's Nightmare Rarity!"

As the journey continues.
