Indigo Prince

Pegalysium. Lulolum Island. Late Afternoon.

Lulolum Island. Another one of the many sky islands and civilizations in Pegalysium being carried by the wind in any direction, never staying in one consistent area. Nearby, the Rocketship commanded by Team Rocket and joined by Rarity and Fluttershy soared.

This island held a town that was on the larger side than Feathercoast, almost close to a city. Its appearance was more akin to that of a port as well. The port itself looked graceful. With its copper rooftops, maple wood walls and rows upon rows of luscious trees. The main attraction was a massive fountain of a pegasus, spouting out cloud water as to be expected.

"I wish these islands didn't have to always move due to the wind but...this is a nice view." Rarity admired Lulolum from this perspective.

"It's getting late, don't you think, Rarity? Maybe we should've come at an earlier time," said Fluttershy.

"Hm. Probably should've picked the shell up sooner. Ah, well. It doesn't matter that much, to be honest." Rarity shrugged it off. "Team Rocket. Would you kindly stop close to that island for us? At least until morning."

"Ah...You said we were just coming up here to grab those rewards and maybe some treasure." Jessie groaned. "Now you're wanting us to stop here?"

"Sorry, Jessie." Fluttershy flew over. "If only we came earlier, then it wouldn't be so late."

"Audino."

"Who says nightfall needs to stop us? Team Rocket are nocturnal.." James laughed, hyping himself and his friends up as versatile in different times. "We'll go treasure hunting on foot too."

"Just try not to cause too much trouble please." pleaded Fluttershy. "You wouldn't want to get on the bad side of the entirety of Pegalysium, would you?"

"It'll be fine." Meowth flailed his arm. "We're on pretty good terms with Equestria so this place won't be so bad now, will it? They don't even mind that we took some of their treasure."

"More like they don't know. But then again, it is of an ancient past so...mmm." Rarity shrugged, not seeing much wrong with Team Rocket's treasure hoarding activities.

James steered the ship towards Lulolum Island for the night. Currently unknown if it would be welcoming to a giant ship that looked like it could crush their entire civilization when approaching, but Team Rocket went it with either way.

Speaking of which, all their attention had been turned towards the Rocketship as it was not that hard to miss. Especially the visible and vibrant 'R' painted on the side. The force of it departed the nearby clouds as James had parked it right near this port town. But they would just stop by it and nothing more They wouldn't want to make themselves seem suspicious. At least, not Fluttershy and Rarity. Team Rocket was another story.

Either way, ponies gathered around to see the ship, stunned and amazed by its sheer size. The hatch of the ship opened up, showing the silhouettes of Fluttershy, Rarity, Bayleef, Raboot and Audino.

And upon seeing these silhouettes and their visages becoming clear, instead of wondering who they were, the pegasi in Lulolum Island recognized Fluttershy, Rarity and Audino. Not so much Raboot and Bayleef due to their evolutions.

"Oh, it's them!" One pegasus pointed out, instantly drawing all attention to the unicorn, pegasus and Hearing Pokemon. Fluttershy aimed her hoof at herself, wondering if they were talking about her. But it was clear that they were. It wouldn't be anyone else but her, Rarity and Audino.

"That would be us, Fluttershy," said Rarity. "And I think I know why..."

"Oh Is it because of what happened with the Indigo Alliance?

"That would be it. Nothing as large as that would go unnoticed. And besides, with King Paramount labelling us as heroes after all that had happened with that event, it's only natural that our faces would be known. Much like back in Equestria."

"You've got a point there," Fluttershy replied as she had nothing else to say. She, Rarity and the Pokemon only walked off the hatch, fully entering the town of Lulolum Island. Many of the residents were asleep at this point, so not all of them would see Fluttershy and the others.

But they were only here to take a break for a bit and get to the Sky Monarch with their rewards. If they can find it with all these moving islands. Flying past them was one of Pegalysium's many glowing butterflies as always. This butterfly dashed through the late afternoon, moving through the gaps of each building located here.

The butterfly lit up the low-tone spaces of the thin gaps during this sombre and dim time. It had then passed through a chimney, instantly entering somepony's home without having to worry about any smoke or fire to threaten it. This radiant butterfly after entering the house of this pony passed through the back window.

Its journey eventually led it to a place only active during late hours. A place that this beautiful butterfly had phased through. A magical forcefield had rippled with the butterfly's entrance, revealing a secondary side to the town that was just as large as it, but completely hidden.

As if it were a mirror facing the other side, this secondary side to the town also had an alternate appearance to boot. [With its copper rooftops, ceramic tile walls and foggy fields, it all had a mythical atmosphere.

And the main attraction that many on the other side would not see was an out-in-the-open Indigo Alliance building. Similarly to the one hidden in the capital. This building was free to be out in the open due to the magic protection that shielded this secondary town.

In fact, ponies also lived here, casually walking by or even exiting the building of the Indigo Alliance. This secret society was still active and alive even after the event that occurred months ago. Here, the Indigo Alliance had their own town to reside in without any worry.

Inside of the building, a similar courtroom to the one at the capital could be found but it seemed to have some changes here and there. It had far more luxury than just a giant room with a lot of seats.

The butterfly had entered this building before coming to a screeching halt, stopping in front of one of the pegasi nearby. It landed on her nose, flying off as this pegasi and three others were speaking to a certain somepony on a communication shell.

Second Wind.

"Thanks to the power of the Unown, altering the memories of Shooting Star was a success. Now, he works for us, just as intended from the start. I even made it so that he lost his status as a Prince. I can guarantee nopony even say the word prince now." She chuckled. "But, trouble is soon to follow. That's why I called you four for this."

"Are the Unown really that good?" A pegasus by the name of Roseshy spoke, holding a container of Unown. The four of them had received Unown of their own, all placed within these containers. "I haven't used them yet..."

"I assure you, they are the best thing we could ever ask for. With Shooting Star now a member, no doubt his parents and the rest of the nation will search for him. But that is where the Unown come into play. With their power, any future conflict can be resolved. Which is what I propose we do next."

"Hm. Just stop any conflict like that? Okay then." Another pegasus by the name of Waverush said, lifting the container. Once she did, the Unown ascended, hovering around the area. "Y-You have them under control, don't you?" Waverush stammered, looking up at the Symbol Pokemon, having an ominous feeling about them.

"They will follow your orders and any member of the Indigo Alliance. As for me, I'm expecting King Paramount and Queen Luminary to take action."

"What do we do then, Grand Judge?" A pegasus by the name of Chicane who was lounging around asked.

"Do whatever you do best. And deal with anypony that would stop us." Second Wind ordered, leaving the call.

"You heard her. We've got work to do." Waverush placed the shell away. She then turned to the fourth pegasus of the group who was bigger than them. "Thunder Stamp. You're on the lookout as always."

"Mmm." Thunder Stamp nodded in response.

"And let's have these Unown-" Cut off from her sentence, Waverush had then seen the Unown fly off away from this building. They had sensed something crucial to them. Rift Energy. Straight from Bayleef. "Hey! Where are you going?!"

Chicane and Thunderstamp didn't go along with Waverush but Roseshy did. Both of them managed to keep their Unown with them in the containers. Waverush and Roseshy followed the Unown out of the building, running past fellow Indigo Alliance members.

"Roseshy! You learned how to speak with those weird letter Pokemon! How come they're flying off?!" Waverush asked.

"Oh, okay!" Roseshy fluttered up to one of the Unown with the shape of an S. "Excuse me, Unown. What's wrong? You and the others seem to be in a hurry."

Unown, was a Pokemon that couldn't cry out their names much like most Legendary Pokemon. They were fairly silent. But thanks to their latent powers, telepathy through someone's mind was one way to communicate or form other Unown to spell something. In this case, the single Unown used telepathy on Roseshy.

"It said that they sensed some Rift Energy that showed up Lulolum Island. So they're going to try and get rid of it." Roseshy translated, showing a talent for speaking with Pokemon.

"Did they have to go off in a rush? What could it even be that they'd want to get rid of it?" Waverush wondered, passing through the magical forcefield that hid this town, entering the other side. "The Grand Judge has some but it can't be her..."

"Um...Maybe it's them!" Roseshy gasped, coming to a screeching halt and vigorously holding her hoof out. Waverush raised an eyebrow, looking to where Roseshy pointed. Soon, she had a similar shocked expression to her.

They had both seen Fluttershy, Rarity, Audino, Bayleef and Raboot appear, moving through Lulolum Island as the sun was starting to set. They recognized them instantly. Raboot and Bayleef were difficult to recognize thanks to their evolutions but some similarities to their first stage evolutions remained.

"Oh..." Waverush uttered before holding the Unown back, not wanting to give too much attention to themselves. Waverush was almost pulled off with the Unown as they were dedicated to attacking Bayleef at the moment.

She then descended with the Unown, holding them all together with her impressive hoof strength. Waverush and Roseshy then backed up slowly, re-entering the other hidden side of the island.

"The Grand Judge didn't anticipate them arriving, did she?" Waverush said. "They're part of that group that stopped her months ago..."

"Why did they have to show up now?" Roseshy hushed, scrunching her face.

"I don't know. But if they're here, then things can get ugly for us. Can you help keep these Unown under control?" She held out the Unown to Roseshy. "You're the only one that's got a good grasp on them."

"Uh, okay." Roseshy nodded as she went up to the Symbol Pokemon. "Unown, it's best to keep it down and secretive right now. I know you sensed it from either one of them, but now might not be the best way."

With her skills of speaking with Pokemon, the Unown had calmed down. They then circled the pegasus afterwards, sharing their gratitude for her charitable nature.

"Let's think about this for a moment." Waverush poked her head. "Thunder Stamp's probably seen them already. But...the king and queen might already know about their missing son so..."

"Maybe we should try and take them in," Roseshy suggested. "The Grand Judge would love that, wouldn't she? They're probably coming here to rest. So when their guards are down, we can capture them, make sure they stay silent without having the chance to call for any help out there. Especially with that Pokemon with the big ears. Um, maybe."

"Genius!" Waverush put her hoof around Roseshy, startling her and almost causing her eyes to pop out. "You're simple but you think ahead of us well, Roseshy!"

"T-Thanks...!" She said with a weakened voice. They quickly rushed back into the building to alert the rest of the Indigo Alliance, including Chicane and Thunder Stamp.

Chicane was currently annoying Thunder Stamp, waving around a hypnotical string of glowing feathers in his face while he was busy focusing on Lookout. Thunder Stamp showed signs of agitation and Chicane giggled, enjoying it greatly.

"Stop what you're doing!" Waverush slid into the room. "We have a problem!"

"Oh, we saw." Chicane shrugged. "Those ponies from months ago showed up again. Talk about bad timing just when the Grand Judge is getting somewhere. Guess bad luck is gonna keep coming her way."

"Not if we don't do anything about it. Roseshy already had something in mind. We all know how good we are with capturing, right? Well...mainly you, Chicane."

"I do it best." Chicane nodded, appreciating the praise.

"But you probably won't do well with...ya know. That big yellow and pink thing with the huge ears." Waverush referred to Audino. Chicane's eyes expanded with her tone and mood changing seriously.

"Huh?!" She then hopped onto a nearby table, trotting furiously at Waverush, getting up close to her face. "Are you saying I can't get it done because of some...bear" She found it hard to describe what kind of creature Audino resembled. "...cow...rabbit...angel? Whatever it is!"

"I'm just saying it could be tough! That thing can hear a lot, don't you know?! Prince Shooting Star and that thing that names Pokemon got shared with everypony else by the King. So they know a lot about some of those Pokemon that stopped the Grand Judge. And that Audino's hearing is too good to ignore."

"Tch. Whatever." Chicane scoffed, hopping back onto a couch. "Super hearing or not, that Pokemon won't stop us. We also have the Unown to help out, don't we?"

"Good point. These little letters can do a lot. Alright, we know how we'll do it. But here's how we'll deal with that Audino Pokemon." Waverush gathered her allies together, going through the plan. The objective was to capture Rarity and Fluttershy and also silence Audino in the process. All the while, the Unown were thinking about Bayleef more than anything.

Pegalysium Capital. Sky Monarch. Nightfall.

"Our son...?" Naturally, Luminary and Paramount received the news from Garnet and Kaleidoscope as Luminary dropped to the floor, almost fainting until Paramount caught her. "Captured again..."

"Second Wind. Even after everything that had happened, she would still try and meddle with my family." Frustrated by Second Wind and her actions returning, Paramount was trying his best not to shout. "But...thank you for trying to cheer my son up, Garnet. You are a good friend to him."

"Y-You're welcome, your majesty," Garnet replied. "Good to know I didn't mess up..."

"Those Unown sounded serious from the Pokedex over there." Cloudflare aimed her hoof at the Pokedex. "They did this. And I guess when they're together, nothing's stopping them from doing...whatever."

"I've already tried using Rift Magic to search for him." Paramount showed an orb of Rift Magic. "All I need is a few more pushes and I can use more of this magic and-"

"Forget about that right now!" Luminary stood back up, starting Paramount. "We'll send a nation-wide search for my son! No questions!"

"T-That works too..." Paramount nodded in agreement. But he would use the Rift Magic just in case. Guards from Pegalysium had been ordered to search for Shooting Star in every city or town there is.

More than that, the police were involved too as they already occupied certain cities so they would get a head start over the royal guards. Garnet would head home, but she couldn't help but wonder about Shooting Star and how he was doing at the moment. She hoped that the worst hadn't come yet.

Everywhere else, Shooting Star was being searched for. Whether it'd be at Big Sky, Feathercoast, Lulolum and more that were out there in this nation in the skies. Homes were also being searched for potential substitute Indigo Alliance headquarters after the previous one had been exposed.

Returning to Feathercoast, Garnet found that it was flooded with guards left and right, searching high and low. Whether it would be at the school when it was past closing hours or the Pegalysium Gallery Museum, going through the exhibits for any secret rooms, they were on high alert.

"Garnet." Kaleidoscope flew over. "Did you hear the news? Shooting Star's been taken. Again. This time it's bigger than before since he's on their side."

"Yeah. I heard. But you should call him by his status, Kaleidoscope."

"What's... his status again?" Much like Cloudflare, Kaleidoscope had begun forgetting Shooting Star's status as a prince. It seemed that it wasn't just Shooting Star who had parts of his memories altered.

"It's. Nevermind." Garnet sighed as she couldn't say it either. "I hope he's doing well. I mean, he should be since he's working with them now."

"How'd that happen anyway?" Kaleidoscope asked. "What made him go over?"

"It wasn't him. It was those Unown. The Pokedex said that they could do amazing things when it's multiple of them together. And it wasn't kidding. I don't know what those weird letter things did, but they changed him without any problems."

"Unown? Some sort of Pokemon." Kaleidoscope twirled her hair. "In any case, I've been thinking of a way to help. Why don't we just get Twilight and the others to help out like they did before?"

"Asking them to help? Are we sure we should be asking favours for them for something like this?"

"Why not? They love helping others, is what Twilight told me." Kaleidoscope explained. "Plus, Shooting Star's their friend so they wouldn't ignore this would they?"

"You've got a point. But now that I think about it..he's my friend too." Garnet being one of Shooting Star's closest friends, still felt that she had to make it up to him due to everything that had transpired from it.

"Uh, yeah. But no offence, Garnet, but I don't think you're hero material..." Kaleidoscope hushed, poking Garnet. Garnet pouted, giving a lowered-eyed look to her friend. "Just saying."

"I may not be hero material, but I have to try." Garnet looked to the ground, thinking of anything she could do. She didn't have high amounts of magic such as royalty or even access to reality-defying power such as Rift Energy or the Unown. She was average at best.

That is until she remembered something crucial. Right before Shooting Star's reality had been altered, Garnet recalled the Pokemon at the Grotto. Mainly Charizard and many others. If anything, the greatest source of help could originate from the Flame Pokemon who she had befriended and possibly the other Pokemon living there. Those Pocket Monsters can be helpful in any scenario after all.

"That's it! Kaleidoscope! We're going back to the Drifting Peaks! It's been a while since you've been there!" Garnet sprung an idea. "We're going for Charizard and whoever else is there!"

"Oh, really? Great! What about Clear? She hasn't been there in a while too."

"We're not hanging out. This is way bigger than that." Garnet spread her wings out. "Clear's probably asleep by now."

"No, she's awake." Kaleidoscope turned to Clear View who was out of her home due to the search being conducted by the guards. "She'd probably just follow us either way if she saw us."

"Whatever! It doesn't matter! Let's go!" Wanting to hurry before things are too late, Garnet dashed off with Kaleidoscope promptly following. Clear View noticed her friends flying off in a hurry as it caught her attention.

The mute pony couldn't help but be interested as was expected from her curiosity with many things. Whether they be adventures, Pokemon, ghosts, etc. She took the skies, pursuing her friends. Clear used her wings as sign language as always, asking where they going.

"Told you she'd follow anyway."

Far south of Pegalysium. Nightfall.

Over at the far east of Pegalysium, one of the many Ilse Monsters could be found. This was where a majority if not all of them resided, disguised as islands. However, deep within one Isle Monster and its crevice mouth, a familiar golden light that soon turned red had glistened out of it. Deep within the crevice, a room could be found. A room for the Indigo Alliance, built within an Isle Monster. And not without some adjusting.

"Ah, these Unown are amazing!" Second Wind chuckled with the Unown floating about. "To think I could just tame an Isle Monster and place a new hideout here. Perhaps I judged these Pokemon too harshly. Now then, Shooting Star. How do you like your robe?"

Shooting Star was dressed in an Indigo Alliance robe that was fitting to what he wished for when he was first kidnapped by them, but it never came to fruition. Now it did, but the cheery personality of Shooting star didn't radiate out to admire the garb. "It's nice."

"Hm. Underwhelming." Second Wind's eyes moved from side to side, expecting a larger response. "Oh, well. I should've known anyway. Altering your reality has even changed how you act. So calm and composed. Completely serene. Now that I think about it..."

"What do I do now?" Shooting Star asked.

"Well, now that you ask me, something's come up in my mind." She walked up to the young prince. "You remember today, didn't you? How the previous Pegasi of Destiny told you that you would never fulfil the legacy and become the 10th. Unable to hold the Destiny Magic at all."

"I remember." That was one memory that wasn't altered from Shooting Star. That humiliating display back at the Pegalysium capital for all to see. "I can't believe it. I thought I was the 10th one."

"Ah, but it isn't over yet. Because remember, you need to be serene of mind and everything to hold it, as they said." Second Wind smirked, circling Shooting Star. "And now, you are...."

"I am." Soon, Shooting Star realized this. All he needed was for Second Wind to bring it up. While he was denied the fulfilment, him being born and prophesized as the 10th hadn't faded away.

"So for once, I'd say take the advice of those previous pegasi. Let that serene nature appear and harness that Destiny Magic. It's somewhere in you. You just need to let it out." Second Wind backed away, allowing for Shooting Star to try and bring out the Destiny Magic now that everything about him was calm and collected.

Second Wind knew that she would have more resources to pull from. Unown's power and the Destiny Magic that essentially acts as one half of Pegalysium as a whole. Second Wind closed his eyes, allowing himself to become truly peace of mind. The excited part of himself was out of the picture, locked behind memories from an altered reality.

In truth, this was Second Wind's plan all along. And she was having it all go her way. Out of Shooting Star's body, a blinding silver aura with gold sparks on the fringe showed itself around him. Second Wind loved what she was seeing as the Aura resembled shooting stars. Fitting for who the wielder was.

Shooting Star opened his eyes, realizing what he was surrounded by. Thanks to the power of the Unown, he could bring out this magic that was always inside of him, but his other self never had the serenity to do.

"Is this it?" Shooting Star gawked.

"It most certainly is!" Second Wind cackled. "Destiny Magic! Oh, this is perfect! Magic that is only exclusive to one kind of Pegasus. But now, it's all tailored to us."

"What happens now?"

"Now? Hm-hm-hm." A plotting Second Wind wasn't done with her plans. "Just you wait, Shooting Star. With your magic, you change how all of Pegalysium functions. "But first, let the Unown take things from here." The Grand Judge then turned to the Unown, who were waiting for their next command. "Go."

The Unown had suddenly taken off. They already had a set destination to go to. Under Second Wind's command, the Unown had flown out of the Isle Monster, ready to cause some chaos in the name of the Indigo Alliance. Second Wind's many objectives were to take back the control that she had in secrecy even after it had been foiled and exposed.

And with the power of the Unown, that would be easy for her. The night skies were covered with black letters and enigmatic white eyes. The Symbol Pokemon could already sense multiple traces of Rift Energy. One coming from the Sky Monarch and the other coming from Lulolum Island. Two groups of Unown split up, going for the dual civilizations. Only chaos can come from this. And a kind of chaos that could spread.

Only from the Unown.

Equestria. Canterlot. Nightfall.

As always, during nightfall, the most active pony was Princess Luna. Whether she was in the dream realm or sometimes training with her Pokemon, she would be there.

With the night still being somewhat early, Luna aimed to get her Pokemon's strength up a bit before patrolling the dreams of many. And of course, prevent Musharna from eating any.

"Xatu." But in the midst of training, Xatu felt something. The Mystic Pokemon's ability to see into the past and the future were kicking in as his eyes started flashing. "Xatu."

"What is it, Xatu?!" Luna rushed over. "I know this look!"

By now, Luna knows her Pokemon well. And Xatu's eyes flashing meant that something from the future was coming, no doubt. Xatu had already been aware of the events taking place in Pegalysium. But the vision of the Mystic Pokemon allowed it to see more than that.

It surpassed Pegalysium. He could see Equestria.

Ponyville. Twilight's Castle.

"Absol!" It wasn't just Xatu. Absol felt it too. Being the Disaster Pokemon, he could sense upcoming disasters. And jumping out of the window, his horn sensed trouble from above.

"Absol!" Twilight cried out as she was setting the bed for her Pokemon. She looked out of the broken window, seeing Absol rush off. Twilight and her Pokemon soon followed their teammate without hesitation. "Where are you going?!"

As the journey continues.
