The door in the sky
Ponyville. Twilight's Castle. Afternoon.
Right now, Twilight was gazing at the lineup of unicorns that had come from Pyrestar's world. They had just shown up yesterday after discovering the gateways. Now, they were walking among the streets of Ponyville with happiness on their faces.
This was all on the same day that Twilight had just returned from the meeting Princess Celestia had made as she entered her castle whilst looking at the unicorns with alicorn amulets.
"What's going on here? Why are there so many ponies with alicorn amulets?" Twilight asked Starlight and Nyx.
"Oh, about that. Those are the ponies from Pyrestar's Universe. They found our secret base and passed right through it." Starlight explained. "Now, they're just exploring Ponyville since their own home is a bit...ya know..."
"Oh..." Twilight nodded in understanding. "So much for a secret base being secret then. Are they going to be okay?"
"Yeah. After Ash saved them and their land being slowly restored, a ton of hope just came back to them. And I bet with Pyrestar back, things might be looking up more of them. I mean, look at how happy they are right now." Starlight showed Twilight just how much energy and excitement filled the faces of these otherworld unicorns.
And the reactions they gave off to Ponyvile were something to behold.
"Oh! How I've missed this!" One unicorn cried out whilst eating food from SugarCube Corner. The unicorn was also crying aggressively with Pinkie Pie patting him on the back.
"There, there. Eat as much as you want to get those taste buds back." Pinkie Pie comforted him.
"Mew!"
"How long has it been since I've felt the smoothness of silk before...?" Another unicorn was caressing a silk dress made by Rarity, treating it like it was its own child.
"Oh my. D-Do you no longer have silk in your world?" Rarity chuckled nervously.
"Oh, what is this!?" Some unicorns were just admiring the Pokemon. They have obviously seen Pokemon in their world thanks to Ghetsis and Team Plasma. But they've only seen Dark, Poison, Ghost, Steel and a single Dragon-Type overall. No more than that besides dual typings. And many of them are intimidating. But here, Pokemon of all varieties could be found. And most of them didn't look like they could end your life in an instant.
Even though they could.
"This one has an extra head as a tail!" A unicorn gawked at a Girafarig, flicking the secondary head which was actually its brain.
"Gira!" In response, Girafaring bucked the unicorn, sending her flying for flicking its tail. They are known for attacking anyone who dares approach from behind.
"Look at how fluffy this one is! Feels like actual cotton!" Another placed her hooves on a Cottonee, making the Cotton Puff Pokemon laugh as it was being tickled.
"C-C-Cottonee!"
"I haven't had Ice cream in so long...Time to dig in!" A pony said, holding a Vanillite in his hoof without knowing it was a Pokemon as he opened his mouth.
"V-Vanil?!"
"Ah! That's not ice cream, sir!" A pony cried out, warning the unicorn.
"What?" The moment he turned around, Vanillite instantly gave the unicorn a flash-freeze, encasing his body in ice. Except for the hoof that held Vanillite.
Overall, their reactions to various Pokemon were unique. And they have yet to even come across the Pokemon House which has a larger selection of Pokemon that can be found under Fluttershy's care.
However, that wasn't the real main attraction. While the unicorns could admire the Pokemon all day, and they certainly will, there was one other reason they came here. To see the one that freed them from most of Team Plasma. At least the ones in Canterlot.
Ash Ketchum.
Ash was indeed present here at the moment as he was eating with Applejack and Big Mac. Alongside their Pokemon of course. Little did Ash know, he was about to be flooded by unicorns. Then again, after having such high popularity in this world all over Equestria, it wasn't too unnatural for him as all of the unicorns flocked to Ash.
"There he is!" One unicorn pointed before they all started approaching Ash's direction while he was enjoying his lunchtime meal.
"Hm?" Ash turned around whilst having food in his mouth, spotting the group of unicorns coming his way along with Pikachu.
"Pi? Pika?"
"Ash Ketchum!" They all said before coming to a screeching halt in front of Ash. They were all here to give their due thanks. Even though a few of them did thank Ash back in their world.
"Mm!" Ash swallowed his food before recognizing the unicorns and the Alicorn Amulets they all wore. "Oh, hey. You all showed up here?"
"Certainly!" A unicorn nodded.
"Ash. Who are they? And how come they've got those amulets with 'em?" Applejack asked with Golett on her shoulder.
"Oh. They're the unicorns from Pyrestar's world." Ash pointed his thumb at the unicorns while a Wingull came swooping by, snatching Ash's food from his hand. "Aw..."
"We wish to fully thank you for what you have done for our world. And we are hoping that you can continue to help from Team Plasma, as they have moved across Equestria ever since their arrival." A unicorn said.
"No problem. It won't be the last time I show up there. Plus, Pyrestar's back and ready to give it her all to keep you guys safe. Sorry about the castle by the way."
"It's fine. Your world's Discord came to our world and fixed it either way." Another unicorn answered. "We should also thank your magical creatures or Pokemon for helping to save us."
"Pikachu!"
"Let me see!" A younger unicorn went up to Pikachu, feeling drawn to the Electric Mouse Pokemon's cuteness as other younger alicorns went up to him.
"Pika?" Pikachu tilted his head before his red sacs were met with playful hooves from foals, mushing them about and making the Electric-Type's face pudgy. "Pi...?!"
"So cute!" The foals gushed while playing around with Pikachu and flicking his tail. Pikachu groaned as he was being flooded by all those Alicorn Amulet-wearing foals from all sides.
"Pika...Chuuuu!" In response, Pikachu shocked them all. He isn't fond of his tail and sacs being touched like that as everypony, even Ash, Applejack, Big Mac and Sceptile received a high voltage shock. But Golett was fine.
"Gaaah!" They all screamed out loud before the electricity faded away and Pikachu hopped back onto Ash's shoulder. Everyone was now smoking thanks to Pikachu.
"Pika."
"Such voltage...Teach us more about Pokemon!" A unicorn cried out whilst shaking all of the smoke off of her.
"Sure thing." Ash nodded as he got off the table. "There's a whole bunch of Pokemon that exist out there in both worlds. Some I've never even seen before. Sound pretty exciting?"
"Mhm!" The unicorns nodded in agreement. Especially the foals who were nodding their heads at high speeds. Ash would love to tour them around and teach them about Pokemon. Both in this world and his own world.
And Twilight watched him do so from outside her window.
"I think it's going pretty great so far," Twilight said to Starlight as the unicorn nodded.
"Right. By the way, we want to check something out over at Pyrestar's world. It's the Rarity from that world. Thanks to those Alicorn Amulets, they've been able to live longer than usual. Like actual alicorns. We wanna tell that world's Rarity about how everything's coming back."
"I gotcha." Twilight nodded in understanding. "That world's Rarity must be so lonely without Pinkie Pie or the others. But she's obviously made new friends along the way, right?"
"Only one way to find out." Starlight responded.
"Um. Before we leave, there's something I must tell you, T-Twilight." Nyx approached Twilight. The secret of her seeing Twilight as a mother figure was on the verge of being revealed.
"Hm? What is it?" Twilight turned to her fellow alicorn.
"Well...How do I put this? If you must know...in my world, the Twilight Sparkle there is an important figure in my life. Very important and close to me." Nyx was aiming to delay the announcement at this point as Starlight scrunched her face, waiting for Nyx to just say it.
"Uh-huh?"
"My world's Twilight was important to me in a more of a...maternal sense. A way that no other feeling could replace and such. Seeing her lose her magic made me distraught, which is why I came to care about other Twilight Sparkle's from otherworlds, minus the Empress."
"Uh...huh?" Twilight was going along with this as she was trying to see where Nyx was going with this. Nyx herself looked over at Starlight. Starlight nudged her head, encouraging Nyx to just say it loud and clear. Nyx closed her eyes, huffing her chest as she was going to let it out.
"I see you as a mother!" Nyx shouted, almost blowing Twilight and Starlight away from how much force she put into that shout. Her voice even reached past the castle, heading outside as a few ponies and Pokemon nearby looked at Twilight's Castle. "Maybe a calmer tone would've been a better option.
"A mother?" Twilight held her head after the shout. "Nyx. Is that why...?"
"I stutter when mentioning your name? Yes." Nyx lowered her head. "It shouldn't have been this difficult to reveal it. How could I have been so weak?"
"Well, it was sorta like how the older Flurry Heart was nervous to tell Princess Cadence." Starlight explained whilst patting Nyx.
"It took less time for her to say it." Nyx sighed.
"Nyx. You don't have to worry about something that small." Twilight walked up to Nyx. "It's great that you finally got it out. But uh...really?"
"Really. The Twilight in my world took me up as her own daughter. She loves me unconditionally despite my relation to a certain figure. Because of her, I have tended to love other Twilight's I come across. I always thought they were the same as her. Thanks to the Empress, that has changed drastically..."
"Well..." Twilight scrunched her face whilst rubbing the back of her mane. "You barely have to worry about her anymore. Daughter. Oh, should I call you that?"
"Nyx is fine." She responded as they all collectively chuckled. That went smoother than they thought. A bit of awkwardness and delay here and there. But overall, good stuff. "Right. Checking on the other world's Rarity. Perhaps with all of the land being restored, the seal is weakening."
"We'll head there as soon as we can. First, some afternoon food for the Pokemon. Eve! Everyone! Come in here!" Twilight shouted for her Pokemon.
"Espeon!" Barging through the doors were Espeon, Ninetales Cinccino, a slow walking Absol and Togekiss. Twilight had already set the food down for them. Even though Togekiss wasn't Twilight's Pokemon, she was still a major part of her friend group in every way.
The Pokemon began snacking down on their lunch, eating their personal favourites while Twilight brought over a box with her magic, setting it down on the floor.
"I also have to set things out at my lab for tomorrow. Since everything's back to normal after the invasion, the Pokemon Trainers are ready to continue their goals." Twilight opened the box, revealing an assortment of Pokemon Trainer Starter Gear Essentials. Ranging from the Pokedex, a group of Poke Balls, a map and the newly added Xtransceiver. The Xtransceiver was now considered a highly important and necessary item to have around at all times. Not just for your trainers, but everyone in Equestria.
It was mostly the parents who requested this since they wanted to keep their children safe and contact them, no matter how far away they may be. The Xtransceiver could benefit Equestria in many ways.
"You know, BigTime Ben said there were other Pokemon from other regions that he wanted to bring over here for starters." Twilight twirled the Poke Ball around with her magic. Togekiss was mimicking that twirling by flying around. "Shame it hasn't happened yet. I really want to see the other ones!"
"Isn't there this one region he mentioned called Holon? What Pokemon are there?" Starlight asked.
"The Holon Region? Uh...I'm pretty sure he said that the Pokemon that exist there are all Pokemon we've seen before, but they have something about them known as Delta."
"Delta?" Starlight and Nyx asked.
"Right. Delta. Holon is mostly known for the unusual species of Delta Pokemon. I was given a book about it just next to the other regions that came from Canalave Library." Twilight nodded while continuing to twirl the Poke Ball.
"Toge! Toge! Togek-" Togekiss was twirling about whilst also eating her food, performing a sort of trick in the process that Eve and the others found to be impressive. But as she was twirling around, mimicking the Poke Ball, Togekiss' wing actually came in contact with the button that exists on every Poke Ball. "To?"
And one touch of that button resulted in the Poke Ball opening up without Twilight's own control. Once it opened, the red light from within pulled the Jubilee Pokemon inside before closing entirely.
"Eh?" Twilight and the others took notice of this as they each collectively snapped their heads towards the Poke Ball, hearing the traditional sound it made. And whilst in midair, it started to shake.

2...
3...
Gotcha! Togekiss was caught.
"Oh!" Twilight and everyone gasped as their hairs and tails stood up, gazing at the stars that emanated out of the Poke Ball. Just like that, Togekiss had been officially caught like any ordinary Pokemon.
By accident.
Twilight's jaw dropped as her magic concentration fell. The Poke Ball also fell, hitting the floor as Togekiss emerged from the Poke Ball, smiling as if nothing important had just happened.
"Toge-Toge!" Togekiss clapped her wings together.
"That wasn't supposed to happen..." Twilight uttered as Togekiss picked up her Poke Ball with her wings, playing around with it and spinning it around her face.
"Kiss!"
"Are we gonna explain this to Delphox?" Starlight said.
"Uh..." Twilight looked at Togekiss, seeing her play around with the Poke Ball without a care in the world. She then dropped the Poke Ball after losing some balance with it. She wanted a second go at the spinning trick. Twilight could see that Togekiss had no issue with being caught. If anything, she was fine with it. Being friends with Twilight and everyone is what made it possible. And Twilight could see it in her eyes. "I'll handle it. Togekiss."
"To?" The Jubilee Pokemon turned to face the Princess of Friendship.
"Would you like to be my Pokemon?"
"Togekiss!" Answering immediately, Togekiss flew forward, granting Twilight a powerful hug with her wings as she pinned the alicorn down. That was a confirmed yes.
"Ow! Okay, Togekiss! I get it!" Twilight cried out whilst being hugged. "Cut it out!"
Diamond Tiara's Home.
"It's settled!" Scootaloo exclaimed as she, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon sat on a table at Diamond Tiara's own home. "Kalos it is!"
"Kalos? You sure?" Diamond Tiara asked.
"Yeah, positive." Scootaloo nodded. "We'll be there for...five days. That sounds good enough."
"Five days sounds pretty long though...My contest is in five days." Sweetie Belle said.
"Then uh...four days!"
"Okay. So where in Kalos are we gonna go?" Silver Spoon questioned.
"Well...there's this place called Ninja Village. Ash told me he went there once and that's when he found out about the Bond Phenomenon. Special Greninja and everything. That place sounds fun to be at! It's just between Anistar City and Snowbelle City. There isn't a gateway nearby for them but we're going all the way. The best gateway we can take is the one that goes to Couramine City. Just near Appleloosa."
"A full-on journey sounds like something!" Apple Bloom sat up. "Wait till we get back and tell everypony everything! Uh...i-if we make it back before Sweetie Belle's contest."
"Rarity's already packed a lot of stuff for us." Sweetie Belle explained. "We'll have all the food we need for the days. And some other stuff."
"My daddy also gave us a ton of bits and Pokedollars. So we won't run out of anything anytime soon." Diamond Tiara crossed her hooves in confidence. "He's pretty good friends with BigTime Ben if you must know."
"Yeah but...what are we even gonna do?" Silver Spoon scratched her mane. "I mean...Spike had a reason to go on his short quest. He even learned a neat trick along the way. What are we gonna do at Ninja Village and on our entire journey?"
"We uh...We're gonna..." Scootaloo thought about it for a moment. They had certainly planned to go on a Pokemon Journey but what they'd do exactly was unknown. Especially during Summer. "We'll uh...learn some neat ninja tricks?"
"I think it's best that we just have some fun, right? Who cares about learning something!" Apple Bloom dragged all of her friends together with her hooves, putting them in one big group hug.
Afterwards, they had all made their collective decisions. Coming up was a trip to the Ninja Village and parts of Kalos. Some fun was about to be made along the way.
They were set to go. They had bags that were almost as large as them with various items inside. Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and their parents had made sure to give them their essentials, similar to how Twilight does for upstart Pokemon Trainers. Cold bottles of water, a plethora of food, money, Pokemon essentials and more.
Ash also assisted while a large group of unicorns were following him since he offered to be their tour guide. He knew a lot about NInja Village for obvious reasons, so he gave the foals some advice when they would eventually get there.
"Remember. It's a super isolated settlement." Ash spoke to the foals. "It's got perfect defences from the inside and outside so getting there is gonna be tough. The main entrance in and out of Ninja Village is through a hidden tunnel, where a secret password is needed to enter. Luckily, I remember it. When you know knock, a voice will say Mountain, and you'll respond with River.
"Got it! Mountain and River!" Silver Spoon recited.
"Bring us back some neat ninja clothes that we can wear!" Rainbow Dash squeed. "I-If they make some for ponies."
"Be careful out there, Diamond Tiara. The Pokemon World is far more dangerous than ours with the larger abundance of them." Filthy Rich spoke to her daughter. "And don't go too insane with the money. It's plentiful but absorbent."
"I won't!" Diamond Tiara shook her head.
"Just do what I did and take it easy, alright?" Spike pointed at himself. "And catch some awesome Pokemon along the way too. Just uh...maybe don't fight a Legendary Pokemon."
"Meeting a Legendary Pokemon would sound great though!" Scootaloo's eyes lit up.
"Make sure to call back frequently with your Xtransceiver, alright?" Rarity leaned in on Sweetie Belle.
"Don't talk to too many strangers." So did Applejack. "If anything happens, you've got our Trainer Number and Officer Jenny's everywhere."
"We got it." Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle collectively said.
"Yeah. You're all set now." Ash nodded, crossing his arms as the five of them were definitely ready for one fun adventure throughout some of Kalos.
"Sure are! Let's get rolling!" Scootaloo exclaimed, raising her hoof as her friends each did the same in unison. The time was now to leave as they were making their way towards the closest gateway to Kalos. Lumiose City. Just over at Saddle Lake and near White Tail Wood.
"Bye! Make sure you say hello to Sanpei and the others for us!" Ash and everyone waved goodbye.
"Pika-Pika!"
"We will! Bye!" And those were the last words heard from the five foals before they had left the vicinity of Ponyville. Applejack and Rarity scrunched their faces, feeling a bit shot in the heart, but they could endure it.
For just four days.
High above the skies.
Some work was being done by the pegasi and the Flying-Type Pokemon as usual. Their job to govern and take care of the skies was crucial. It was like any normal day with nothing too out of the ordinary at all aside from some new Flying-Type Pokemon being seeing the skies.
But one pegasus went higher up to take care of the clouds there, unaware of what he was coming across. As he ascended, he noticed that the air around him felt a bit chunky and off.
"Hm." He wondered as his ear twitched. And speaking of his ear, he then heard an off sound high above. It sounded like something metallic was being pushed. Metallic in the sense of a hand from a clock tower moving. Ticking sound and everything. And he noticed this when he reached the highest point that he could reach.
Not only that but a large shadow had been cast over him. A shadow of a circular shape. The pegasus scrunched his face as he realized that something gigantic was definitely within his vicinity. But he also noticed that this large shadow started moving away, no longer casting a shade over him.
Having some curiosity, the pegasus couldn't help but look up beyond the clouds. At least, what he could see. He could only go so high up. And what he managed to see struck him beyond belief.
There was a humongous door in the sky.
This door had something surrounding it, probably a building but it was hard to see with all of these clouds. The view of this door was in the shape of a clock. It even had the hands as the door handle. Afterwards, it flew away, leaving the sight of the pegasus as his jaw had dropped.
After seeing this, there was one logical thing to do. Speak to Princess Celestia and inform his fellow pegasi. Then again, it would be hard for his pegasi to believe him, but Princess Celestia might know something about this As the journey continues.

Well, they originated from the Pokemon Trading Card Game but Pokemon Insurgence built upon them with Holon included. They have different types and abilities from their original counterparts. I'll reveal more of their history in the next chapter.

Good to know and also very creative about the fan made forms. Wonder what fun events will the Ponies do that Empress Twilight has temporary retreated; Bug Catching Contest? Pokémon Musical? Luna travel to different Regions to catch more Pokémon because she kind of stopped doing that and maybe more different types will help her in the future and the guards as well

Are you going to add anything from fan made Pokemon regions, or are you just going to stick to this simple fan expansion to something canon? Because if you are going to go into the realm of fan Pokemon the Kascade fan region is a pretty interesting one. It was designed by the Youtuber Lockstin, the same guy who made the massive series about Pokemon's connections to the symbolism and myths of alchemy. A really simple example of that one is the fact that the correct pronunciation for Arceus is the same as archeus, which is the alchemic name for the material souls are said to be composed of.
