Otherworldy Discovery

Equestria. Ponyville. The Pokemon Festival. Day.

After easing Celestia and Luna down, Ash would decide to spend some more time down here instead of heading back to Pegaysium and the Ethereal Pavilion. It was his decision to stay with them after what they went through. The Ethereal Pavilion would have to wait.

Right now, he got in touch with Shining Armor and Cadence, using his Xtransceiver to call them. This was to do one thing. Meet with Cobalion. And surprisingly, Ash had the method to do so.

"Cobalion? You want him now?" Shining Armor spoke with Ash through the Xtransceiver as he could currently be seen around a beach area.

"We just wanna meet with him, not let him come to us," Ash explained. "It's for Princess Celestia."

"It is for um...reasons!"

"Sure..." Cadence uttered, knowing exactly why Celestia would respond in such a way.

"How are you even going to meet with such a rare Pokemon? We are lucky that he's even allied with us in the first place." Luna wondered. How could they call for such a rare Legendary Pokemon? "Is it like how Ash has these Pokemon attracted to him?"

"Probably!" Hoopa was inclined to believe that along with Meloetta and Victini.

"Nope. Shining Armor, Aegislash and Cobalion came up with a pretty neat way to call for each other. Show 'em." Ash answered as there was another way.

"Right. Ready, Aegislash?"

"Aegis!" Right then and there, they showed the Royal Sisters exactly how to contact Cobalion without using any device. Instead, it was the clashing of metal. Shining Armor was given a helmet by one of the Crystal Empire guards before then holding it out to Aegislash, prompting the Royal Sword Pokemon to start hitting it. But not with the intent to destroy it, however, hard blows would be dealt to it.

Klang! Clang!

Those were the sound that came from this collision. But it was rather unique, unlike any other clanging sound. The sound reverberated across the skies, having a specific tune to it. It was done by Aegislash performing precise hits. Hits that were hard enough to break the helmet, yet it did not break.

This was then backed up by Cadence using her magic on it. By coating the helmet and the blade of Aegislash's body in her magical aura, she heightened the sound. This would elevate the already loud sound, making it reach farther than normal.

That's when there was a response.

A beam of light shot into the sky, becoming a beacon. It had a golden appearance with light particles emitting from it. This light was so bright that it was hard to know where it was coming from. Was it far or was it close?

"What's that?!" Ash and Hoopa collectively exclaimed.

"That right there is Cobalion's sword. It shines so brightly that you'd think he was close." Shining Armor explained. "But he's probably not. That's why we made this method to contact each other. We make the sounds and he gives us a beacon. And it looks like it points west."

"It was actually my idea." Cadence chimed in. "One time, when they were training, I insisted that they made up a way to find each other. Cobalion probably won't use an Xtransceiver. Or even bother with it. So a beacon was the best possible choice. All he has to do is make his sword glow enough to form that beacon. It works well in any weather at any time since it's so bright."

"Amazing! And yeah...their swords have always been bright," said Ash, recalling the times he's seen their swords in action. Each Sword of Justice can exude that beautiful golden glow. "Well, we'll be waiting for him here."

"Gotcha. Bye!" Cadence and Shining Armor would soon hang up. But before that, right as Shining Armor was about to turn it off, Cadence spotted Nightmare Moon casually standing next to Luna. "Wait, is that-"

"So, we'll wait for him. It's cool to hear how close Cobalion's getting to them too." Ash said as he passed the Xtransceiver to Meloetta who would soon place it in his bag.

"Together at the Pokemon Festival? Oh, I don't know what to do..." Celestia swayed from side to side, giggling as she imagined all the possibilities she could have with him here. This would far exceed anything they've done together.

"Please don't make it weird when gets here." Luna pleaded to her big sister. "I know how you get around him."

"Same to you, Luna." Celestia slid over, nudging her little sister before whispering to her. "I know how you get around him...So, it's all fair, really."

"You have a point there. But if something goes wrong, I'll intervene immediately. I'll probably even ask Hoopa for help. I mean, what could you two possibly do during this event?"

Pegalysium. Ethereal Pavilion. Day.

Meanwhile, back at the Ethereal Pavilion, the viewing experience continued. The tiara was still there, waiting to be seen but that wouldn't detract everyone from just enjoying what else the Pavilion had to offer, especially all the touchstones here.

It wouldn't take long for most of them to meet up with each other again. Different groups reunited on the outer parts of the Pavilion which were still part of the attraction. Hilbert would meet up with Hilda while Twilight and her friends would reunite with the majority of Ponyville.

"So. How goes your experience so far? Did you look into her history too?" Twilight asked.

"We did. But it was out of order."Lyra replied. "Some memories didn't add up. But even so....we got to see a lot."

"And learned a lot. Some of it was pretty heavy though." Roseluck commented. "What about you?"

"It's all been heavy for us. But there's a sunny side up to it apparently." Rainbow Dash answered. "We just have to find it. That's all. So what's next?"

"The arrow told us to come outside. Maybe there's a touchstone somewhere." Twilight held out the diary, using it to try and expose more touchstones that would tap into Windkiss' past. "Hmm...Nothing so far."

"The only place left would be that tower up there." Fluttershy aimed her hoof upwards. "But we haven't even finished exploring the rest of the pavilion yet."

"I really wanna know what's up with that crown though..." Rainbow Dash scrunched her face. "It sounds tempting."

"Speaking of tempting...where is Garnet?" Rarity would soon realize that everyone but Garnet was absent from here. She was the one pony who couldn't be seen in the crowd. Everyone navigated their heads, only to find out that she was gone from their sight. "Ah...She's probably gone ahead, hasn't she?"

"She might put on the tiara first. What do you think it'll show her?" Sweetie Belle wandered.

"Whatever it is...I wanted to get there first." Diamond Tiara grumbled. "I think it would fit me since I've already got a tiara."

"Were you born with that thing or something?" Hilbert pointed out, curious about the names of these ponies and how they worked throughout their entire life.

"Oh! The diary sees something!" Twilight would soon discover something with the diary. She aimed it upwards, moving past the beautiful flowers and trees as something was resting near them. Thanks to the light from the book, it revealed some sort of object that was invisible without Windkiss' magical diary. Once it was revealed, it had a strange shape to it. It was dome-shaped on the top but the bottom seemed to end with a point. Everyone else would marvel as the diary revealed this massive object that looked to be made of metal.

"What is that thing...?" Applejack squinted, trying to figure out what she was looking at. Everyone else wanted to know what exactly it was once the full appearance was shown. Only a few of them recognized this kind of shape. Hilbert, Hilda, Cynthia and Bertha did.

"That...That's a UFO! A spaceship!" Cynthia gasped as lying next to the trees and flowers was a massive ship.

"UFO?!" Everypony collectively yelled. Despite not recognizing what this object was, everyone here knew of UFOs. But their existence was another story.

Right in front of them, they were met with a vehicle from beyond this world. The stars themselves. Covered in moss, it was clear that this spaceship was ancient. Extremely ancient. More so than the Ethereal Pavilion and the first Destiny Pegasus. What exactly could it be doing here? And why at the Ethereal Pavilion?

Equestria. Ponyville. Afternoon.

Only two hours had passed and Cobalion had shown up. And the second he showed up, all eyes were on him, mainly from other ponies here. Cobalion could be seen drenched in water before shaking it all off. Clearly, he went through something.

Ash would grab the attention of the Iron Wil Pokemon, waving at him. But while Cobalion eyed down Ash and the others, he was unaware that he was being eyed down himself. By everypony here. Much like how Celestia shows vast attraction to him, everypony else, while on a smaller scale, felt the same. But more along the lines of being fans.

"I'm here. What seems to be the issue?" Cobalion questioned, immediately thinking that this was a matter of urgency that needed to be solved.

"Oh, um! Nothing urgent! I just wanted to see you again, Cobalion. It's been a while, don't you think?" Celestia grinned.

"That so? Is this another one of these 'dates'?" He asked.

"Right, right. I'd love to go on another one. What better moment than the Pokemon Festival? But...were you doing something important? You were all wet after all."

"I finished up. Nothing to worry about. But I was planning on heading to Hearthome City soon for investigation. I can wait though. You may speak what you wish to do today, princess."

"Oh, don't call me that." Celestia nudged. "Call me Celestia. It's better that way. You know that."

"Fine. Celestia."

"Well...I was thinking of somewhere great. Anywhere will do but...Manehattan sounds amazing. But so does Kalos since romance can be found there. You know a bit about Kalos, don't you?"

"Surprisingly...not much." Cobalion shook his head. "I've rarely been to Kalos despite my interactions with Kalosian Pokemon."

"Ooh! Let Hoopa do it! Hoopa will choose a place for you two!" Hoopa flew in between them, offering to transport them to somewhere fitting. If he could find that fitting place.

"Hm? Wait...you're-" Cobalion pulled back, gasping after he saw Hoopa. The Mischief Pokemon was fairly recognizable to many Legendary Pokemon for obvious and chaotic reasons.

"Were you surprised to see me again?" Hoopa giggled, hiding behind Ash with that signature cheeky grin.

"You two have already met?" Luna looked at both sides.

"We have...when he randomly summoned me and the other swords out of nowhere. Apparently, it was to challenge us and to prove his strength." Cobalion explained. "I'll never forget that mischievous ay."

"Hoopa did great on that day! Hoopa won that battle too." Hoop stuck his chest out proudly, boasting yet again.

"Sending us away is not victory, Hoopa." He facehoofed. "You were too terrified to lose so you quickly sent us back to where we were originally."

"Mmm...That's not how Hoopa remembers it." Hoopa stuck by his outcome, puckering his lips while looking to the sky and whistling. If he had a visible nose, it would be growing by now.

"Nevermind." Cobalion groaned. "Anyway. Since you're here, I have to keep my eye on you. Apologies, Celestia."

"Oh no, it's fine! Hoopa's actually tame." Celestia said otherwise. "He's been quite an interesting character with an amusing power. He hasn't caused us any major troubles, Cobalion."

"Really now?"

"Hoopa can confirm that!" Hoopa gave a thumbs-up. "Goat Pokemon doesn't have to worry about anything. It's just like Ashkan says. No need to worry."

"My name is Cobalion. Please say that." Cobalion corrected him.

"Cobalion!" His name was spouted out. But not by Hoopa. Instead, it came from the ponies who had eyes on him. "Hey~!" They waved at the Iron Will Pokemon who then glared back at them. Much like enthusiastic fans, they squealed at this reaction.

"Hm. You've gathered yourself a fanbase much like Ash and Rainbow Dash. Must be wonderful, correct?" Luna asked, only for Cobalion to shake his head. "He was not all for this but certainly didn't have the power to prevent it from happening. "Oh."

"Maybe somewhere that isn't Equestria..." Cobalion's voice lowered. "Wherever else would be nice."

"It's the Pokemon Festival. You're bound to run into some ponies, sadly." Celestia replied. "But, Hoopa here says he knows of a good place. Go ahead, Hoopa."

"Okay! Alehooparing!" Hoopa held out one of his rings, stretching it wide enough to fit everyone. He thought of one place in particular before then absorbing himself and everyone inside of the ring, exiting Ponyville and the potential crowding of massive Cobalion fans.

2 hours earlier. Pegalysium. Ethereal Pavilion. Day.

Back up at Pegalysium, an amazing discovery had been found. A UFO. A spaceship. Lying next to the trees and flowers was this massive vessel from the stars. Once again, Twilight and her friends found themselves coming back to the concept of space in one way or another.

It was still amazing to see. Compared to what they've seen, they've all certainly witnessed flying ships before. Team Rocket's Frigate and blimps, the Empress' various battleships and so on. But this one was different. This one belonged to the most well-known extraterrestrial force in existence.

Aliens.

And it was impossible for anyone to doubt this. Ultra Beasts and Beheyeem exist. They've seen their fair share of otherworldly forces before. Rarity was even the trainer of one of them. Technically two.

"I can't believe it! An actual spaceship!" Twilight looked into the diary as even if it confirmed it. She turned the page, ignoring chronological order just for this discovery. "Owned by aliens! But this time, they aren't Pokemon Aliens...but aliens from our world!"

"I knew we had aliens!" Derpy raised her hoof. "Never doubted if for a moment."

"So...all this time, there's been something beyond us?" Roseluck shuddered. "I thought that tower was the highest we'd ever get after what we went through...but this is amazing."

"This means that life from another planet came to your world long ago," Cynthia spoke. "Far before this pavilion and Windkiss judging by the age of it."

Pokemon that lingered around the Pavilion could be seen roaming around the spaceship on the outside. Not on the inside though. For the most part, it remained undamaged despite how much moss was on it. It didn't even rust for a moment. Twilight now had to wonder if Windkiss knew of its existence. She had to. After all, the diary revealed its appearance.

"I'll read the diary when I get in there." Twilight approached the UFO before anyone else, standing before the sheer size of it. It was already splendid on the outside. She couldn't wait to see what it was like on the inside. This amazed her the most. Ultra Beasts were already confirmation of other life from another world. But it was only the Pokemon World. Now, the same went for her world.

"We've been focusing on space a lot, huh?" Apple Bloom noticed the consistent theme.

"How'd you know it was a spaceship though?" Scootaloo asked Cynthia.

"We've seen and heard of spaceships that almost describe this one's appearance. Though it does look different from what we know. Either way, this is a fantastic find. Who's willing to go in?"

"PASS." Some of them would rather avoid that. They felt some familiarity with it. AKA, the Galaxy Tower and not many of them wanted to be reminded of it, especially from the inside. But Twilight's closest friends wouldn't mind at all.

"How do we open this thing? It has to be complex since aliens piloted this." Twilight pondered, looking at the entrance. She tapped on it a few times, trigging the sound. This wasn't like the Galaxy Tower at all. This one would require extra steps to enter. "Hmm...Is there a button or something?"

"No sign of a keypad or anything like that anywhere," Hilda observed. "Maybe it's automatic? But if it was, it would've opened by now."

"Since it's old, I doubt it's functioning still." Mayor Mare walked up, showing interest in this cosmic vessel "It's also abandoned by the way the Pokemon now roam around it. That confirms its finality. There is only one logical way to enter this place."

"I'm way ahead of you!" Hilbert exclaimed as both he and Rainbow Dash had the same idea. In the blink of an eye, they had their strongest Pokemon out. Emboar and Braviary. "Step aside! We'll make a new entrance for it!"

"Emboar!"

"Braviary!"

"Absolutely not! Surprisingly, Twilight stopped them, using her magic to force Emboar and Braviary back into their Poke Balls. "This is too precious to damage! It could be part of the pavilion you two! I won't let you muscle through it!"

"Aww..." Hilbert and Rainbow Dash sighed before sitting down. "Sorry."

"Phew..." Twilight sighed. "Now...the only ones who can enter this thing are Ghost-Types. That much is easy to explain. But I doubt they can let us in since the door won't open right now. Maybe the diary has something..."

Twilight would look at the diary, focusing on the UFO Page. The voice of Windkiss would speak once more, spilling what she found on that day.

"Dear Diary. This one's a bit different from the rest. It's not part of the Pavilion at all and was here before I even had it built. But this whole time, it was invisible to everypony except for me. Only I could see it. I guessed that helped since that meant they would've accidentally built around it without knowing. But anyway...I wanted to keep this thing a secret too, even if it's not one of my creations. What I found on this beautiful garden island was otherworldly. I managed to get inside and glance at what it could share with me. It was out of this world. Literally. There was a strange language in there that I doubt anypony else could read. But I'm moving too fast. This ship comes from another world. More importantly..."

"It comes from the past." Twilight finished Windkiss's sentence herself. This UFO that sat before them, despite how advanced it looked minus all the moss and even after what Windkiss said about the inside, it was apparently ancient. Not in its state. But in its appearance when in reality, it looked like it would fit in perfectly with the Pokemon World. The question was now; which world did it come from?
