The Royal Unova

The Royal Unova.

A wonderful ferry that sails in the Unova Region, usually from Castelia City's Cruise Dock every day, but this time it's in Nimbasa City. The ship set sails in the evening which starts when the day begins visually fading into night and ends when daylight is completely gone.

But, over the years, the ship has been getting upgrades that really benefit it in many ways. It has evolved so much to a point where it couldn't be considered a ferry. Now, it was a full-on cruise ship.

Today, Ash and the others were going on a premium cruise on the Royal Unova due to the ticket that was won when battling Kay and Ali back at Big Stadium. Obviously, only Ash could enter the premium cruise but he was allowed to bring some guests along. Aka his friends. The Cutie Mark Crusaders, who had just got here after exploring the route near Nimbsa City, were invited to join the cruise via Ash's will.

And the captain of this wonderful ferry was none other than one of the Elite 4 members and the esteemed Dragon-Type Trainer, Drake.

Currently, it was close to evening, so Ash and everyone had already arrived at the Nimbasa City Cruise Dock. Just in time for them to enter the Royal Unova.

"Alright, we're here," Ash said, looking at his premium ticket.

"A premium cruise...!" Rarity let out a long gasp. "Especially in the Pokemon World...!"

"It's certainly lucky, isn't it?" Fluttershy nodded.

"Lucky doesn't begin to describe it...!" Rarity squeed. "Well done on winning that battle for the ticket, Ash!"

"Uh...I helped in that battle too ya know." Rainbow Dash chimed in.

"What's on a premium cruise?" Apple Bloom asked.

"No idea. But we're gonna find out very soon. Hope it's as good as they say." Applejack replied.

"Let's not waste any time! I can't wait to see what'll happen!" Ash ran up the stairs of the ship as his friends followed by either walking or flying.

"Pikachu!"

"A premium cruise sounds..." Twilight was about to finish her sentence until Rarity finished it for her.

"Romantic? I know you'd love to take the chance to spend some quality time with Ash. Especially in this scenario."

"Ah!" Twilight squealed. "I-I wasn't gonna say that! It was totally going to be something different!"

"No need to worry. We'll make sure it's just you and him on whatever room you two end up in."

"Mrrgh..." Twilight covered her eyes with her saddle-bag as they had all entered the ship.

Inside the Royal Unova. 18:00

Despite this being a premium cruise, normal passengers were on the ship for a regular cruise. They would stay in the normal decks while Ash gets the premium deck all to himself.

Waiting inside of the ship to greet the premium ticket winner was Drake. Or Captain Drake as he'll be known as during this cruise. Drake saw a very familiar face walking into this suite in the form of Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu.

"Ash. Ah, it's good to see you again."

"Drake!" Ash came to a screeching halt. "Great to see you too!"

"Pikachu!"

"Here for the normal cruise, I assume?"

"Nah. Check this out." Ash held the premium ticket in his hand. "I won the premium ticket! So I'm here for the premium cruise!"

"Ah, congratulations. You have a lot to look forward too on this 5-day cruise."

"It's for 5 days?" Fluttershy said as her head poked out. "That will take up most of the second week of the Pokemon Festival."

"If you're hesitant to spend that much time on the ship, then you are free to leave." Drake offered.

"Oh, no. It's fine." Fluttershy shook her head. "I actually don't want to miss out on something this big."

"So, are we gonna just sail around Nimbasa City for like 5 days?" Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow.

"We'll be sailing across the seas of Unova and more. Travelling from city to city. And after that 5th day, when you've all finished your cruise, I'll be setting off on my own for a special Pokemon. So enjoy this while it lasts."

"Special Pokemon?" Ash was curious. "Which Pokemon?"

"Pika?"

"You see, just recently, there have been sightings of a Haxorus with a different colour. One that I aim to catch myself."

"Oh! A Shiny Haxorus?!" Spike shot up.

"Not at all." Drake shook his head. "I've seen a shiny Haxorus before. But this Haxorus is different. More special and rare than any other Haxorus so far."

"That sounds so cool!" Ash gawked. "Where is it?!"

"All the way over at Rainbow Valley," Drake answered. "Just close to Route 4."

"Rainbow Valley. That's where all the Cottonee are." Ash recalled his time at the Rainbow Valley. "I really wanna check this Special Haxorus for myself!"

"Pika!"

"You wish to stay a bit longer then?"

"Sure thing! If it means seeing that Haxorus, ya know." Ash nodded.

"Your thirst for adventure is undeniable. You're welcome to come along with me to Rainbow Valley. And I'll catch that Haxorus without a doubt."

"Oh...a Special Haxorus..." Spike looked up, imagining what this Special Haxorus might look like.

"Enjoy yourself. We'll start sailing in just 3 minutes. Your Premium Room is just up ahead." Drake walked off, heading back to the control room to get this cruise started.

"Alright Thanks, Drake. I wonder if they've got something tasty in that premium room." Ash rubbed his hands together.

"Oh, by the way, Ash." Twilight walked up to Ash. "I was wondering if I could come with you to the premium room. If you want, that is?"

"Oh sure. I wanna check it out with you guys as well. Sounds good to me!"

"Actually, Ash, darling. We'll stay here in the normal deck instead." Rarity said.

"What?! But what about all the tasty stuff that's in-" Pinkie was about to finish her sentence until Rarity shoved her hoof in her mouth to keep Pinkie quiet.

"You three go on ahead and enjoy yourself. 5 days after all. And technically 6." Rarity squeed. Pinkie then noticed why Rarity stopped her from finishing her full sentence as she nodded in understanding. "But if you feel the need to spend time with all of us, we'll be waiting here."

"Oh. Okay then. Let's go, Twilight!" Ash dashed off.

"Pika!"

"Do you always have to run?" Twilight sighed as she flew after him. "I'll catch up with you all later." She waved goodbye to her friends.

Now it was just the rest of Twilight's friends in the normal deck. But the normal deck had a lot to offer as well so they weren't missing out. The Royal Unova was the best place to be if they wanted some rest.

Before the ship was about to set off, on the outside, Team Rocket were currently bolting towards the Royal Unova, while disguised as tourists this time, as Jessie yearned to go on a cruise ship.

"I can't miss out on this!" Jessie screeched. "No matter what!"

"S-Slow down!" James breathed in and out. "She's lucky to have such long legs...!"

"You two are lucky to even have long legs!" said Meowth with his short legs.

"W-Wobbu...Wobbuffet...!" And poor Wobbuffet was lagging behind.

"Almost there! Just need that extra boost!" Jessie was booking it as she was going as fast as she could. Time was running short as the Royal Unova was about to leave. The stairs were being pulled back into the ship. Jessie found her potential boost in the form of a trainer's Tangela. "Aha!"

Spotting the Tangela, Jessie grabbed James, Meowth and Wobbuffet at the same time as she used her unnaturally superhuman strength to pick them all up.

"A-Ah!" James, Meowth and Wobbuffet gasped. "Jess, wait!"

"Wobbuffet!"

"Tange?" Tangela looked over to see Jessie and Team Rocket approaching at lightning speeds. "Gela?!"

"That cruise...is mine!" Jessie, with all her might, jumped onto the Vine Pokemon's head, using Tangela as a pedestal and an extra boost.

"Tangela!" Tangela's head was being squished as Jessie used that squish as a means of getting some height. Jessie then jumped off of Tangela's head, causing the Vine Pokemon's head to wobble around as Team Rocket had gotten a great boost in height.

James, Meowth and Wobbuffet were screaming through the air while Jessie had the widest grin on her face. Tangela and its trainer looked up, witnessing Team Rocket in the air as they themselves were wondering if they would make the jump before the stairs vanish.

And to their surprise, they did make the jump as Jessie landed safely on the stairs while still holding onto her friends. She didn't even feel the recoil of her legs landing from that height.

"Made it!" She laughed as she quickly bolted inside of the ship, succeeding in her mission to enter the cruise.

"Hm. Impressive." The trainer said.

"Tangela."

The Royal Unova was finally about to set sail. All passengers were ready to get this started. Since the ship was apart of the Pokemon Festival, there's a lot to look forward to. And there's even a little something for everyone. From kids to adults. The Royal Unova has changed over the years and has gotten major upgraded to really give it its own flair and pizazz.

Ash and Twilight entered the premium cabin room as they were gifted with the sight of an entire luxury living room fit for royalty. It matched your traditional cruise ship room but with major advantages and perks over the normal rooms. It was larger than the other cabins and was big enough to throw a party in here.

Huge picture windows plastered everywhere and a gigantic balcony with a personal jacuzzi, all located on the top floor, which was also where the premium cabin was located. Anyone could get an amazing view because of this height advantage.

But perhaps the best part of this was that there was a special courtyard on the outside of the premium cabin. For more relaxation with an even larger swimming pool, daybeds, loungers and a glass dome overhead that can be slid closed if it was raining during the cruise. And of course, there was a TV and computer for the Pokemon Trainer.

None of this would be possible if the Royal Unova was never upgraded. But the upgrade really helped to make this ship stand out from other regional ships.

Because of its premium status, it is never overcrowded. So Ash and Twilight have all the freedom in this place right now. That is until Ash decides to invite his friends.

"Oh. Nice!" Ash nodded as he walked inside, immediately sitting on the couch.

"Pikachu!" Pikachu hopped off Ash's shoulder, also laying his back on the couch.

"Premium is right." Twilight gawked. "This is amazing! The Pokemon World really is on a league of its own."

"Espeon."

"All this for 5 days? Sweet. Come out all of you." Ash sent out the rest of his Pokemon to enjoy this cruise.

"You all have to see this for yourself." Twilight did the same with the rest of her Pokemon as she sent them out.

"Okay. We've got this cabin all to ourselves right now. I can just rest up now without no need to worry." Ash put his arms behind his head.

"Pika-Pikachu..." Pikachu rolled onto Ash's stomach.

"You're going to sleep now?" Twilight flew over.

"Yeah. The double battle really took some energy out of me. Plus this couch is super comfortable. What are you gonna do, Twilight?"

"Well, I didn't really plan ahead for a cruise. Especially on a premium one. I'm not sure what I want to do now? What haven't we done during the Pokemon Festival?"

"There's a bunch." Ash sat up. "We've still got some days left until it's all over and there's still a whole lot of stuff we haven't done yet. The Royal Unova's probably got some amazing stuff other than this premium room too!"

"Yeah. You're correct on that, Ash." Twilight nodded. "I think that's another reason why I'm so interested in your world. The possibilities are just endless."

"They sure are. Great you've got a lab to learn about it a lot more too." Ash rubbed Pikachu's belly.

"Pika..."

"Mhm. But there's probably a lot more I've yet to discover. Pokemon are unpredictable after all. But I guess that's not a problem for you since you've been involved with Pokemon the most."

"Oh yeah. But my journey's just beginning, Twilight. There's still a lot more I've yet to really discover. And I guess I can thank Alola for that. It's just like what Mewtwo said." Ash began remembering Mewtwo's words to him and his friends.

"The world is vast. There exist many Pokemon you cannot even begin to imagine. Pokemon that far transcend your expectations and reality.

"Mewtwo, Alola and even our worlds crossing over helped me see that my journey's still not at an end. The road to a Pokemon Master's a long one. But it's one I'm super pumped and ready to reach. No matter how long it takes."

"Think you're gonna at least grow some more hair in the future?" Twilight giggled.

"Man, I wish! It'd be so cool if I had a beard!" Ash crossed his arms as he looked up at the ceiling. "But at least I'm getting taller! What about you, Twilight?"

"I wouldn't mind being tall. I mean, now that I'm an alicorn, I'm sure to grow some height without a doubt."

"As tall as Princess Celestia?"

"I wouldn't go that far, Ash. Although..." Twilight let out a grin with a cocky look on her face.

"It'd be pretty neat, right?" Ash slid over, also having a grin on his face.

"Ah! it'd be too convenient! What if my horn grows too long as well? I might not be able to fit in my lab or castle anymore!"

"Then all you gotta do is just bend, slide or use a spell to fix that!" Ash raised a finger. "Easy."

"It's not that easy, Ash!" Twilight nudged Ash which caused him to laugh. The two of them had their banter, exchanging discussions over the smallest things. And yet, they were entertained either way.

It's the small things that really make them bond, even if it's insignificant and barely lasts long. Their Pokemon are affected by this as well. They get on with their own chitchat that can be considered small as well.

Normal deck.

The normal deck, while not as fancy as the premium cabin was still enjoyable in its own right as seen by the many passengers who were all deciding on what to do on the ship.

The Royal Unova had an entire sports deck. For those who tend to be competitive or just enjoy some thrill. There was a zipline, flow riders, a large water slide known as the Gyarados stream which is also a great travel alternative for those who don't want to use the elevator, a tennis court like in little Stadium, a dodgeball court and of course, the most popular sport, Pokemon Battling.

"Dodgeball? I kinda want to try that again, it's pretty addicting." Rainbow Dash said while looking down at the sports deck.

"Good thing I'm small so I'm not a big target. But those things hurt at full-speed..." Spike laughed nervously.

This was Rainbow Dash and to an extent, Spike's forte and preference. But there were many options for everyone else. There was, of course, a banquet deck that had foods of all sorts. From fruits, grains, meat, vegetables and pastry. There was something for everyone and Pinkie Pie was one of those as she was interested in the pastry part. And the food here wasn't just the traditional looking food. All of the food options here had their own distinct look. Mostly Pokemon-themed.

"Hehe..." Pinkie's tongue was sticking out as Applejack closed her mouth. "The Pokemon World's something else, huh?"

"Sure is. Kinda..." Applejack's stomach growled. "Kinda getting to me too."

There was something for Fluttershy, and of course, it involved Pokemon. Similar to the Relief Zone, there was a small park where a ton of Pokemon were all gathered here, having the time of their life. A majority of them were actually Shiny Pokemon and regional Pokemon, which Fluttershy hadn't seen yet.

"Oh!" Fluttershy pressed her face on the glass, wanting to enter the park. But it was only open from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Not just Fluttershy, but James was a fan of this as well as he also had his face pressed on the glass, admiring the Pokemon as he wished to enter too. Even though Twilight was with Ash, there was a library deck as well.

There was also a Vitality Deck, AKA, a spa for those who want absolute relief and comfort with their tension being wiped away as well as an extra salon. The three individuals who had entered here were Jessie, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, but Sweetie Belle got the children's spa treatment because of her age.

"Eek!" Rarity winced as her back was being massaged by a Machamp. "T-That hit the spot...but...can you be a bit gentle?"

"Champ?"

"What's wrong? Can't handle a Machamp massage?" Jessie taunted as she laughed. But the moment she did so, Machamp ended up giving her the same sensation Rarity was given. "Gyaha!"

"Lucky...that looks like it feels way better." Sweetie Belle pouted as a Tyrogue was giving her a small massage.

Overall, there was a lot that everyone on this ship could enjoy. And it was all free until the Pokemon Festival comes to a close. Granted, it was night so many of the options here were closed until the morning. But when the morning does arrive, there's a lot to look forward to as Drake was mostly set on getting himself that Special Haxorus as the ship was finally moving.

The Bridge. 20:10.

On the ship's main control room where Drake, the helmsman, the watchkeeper aided by an able seaman, the captain was staring in the vast ocean, seemingly anticipating something.

"These remaining days will be worth it for our passengers." Drake crossed his arms. "Especially when it shows itself."

"For what to show, captain?" The helmsman asked him.

"Why...The magic that lives in the seas of Unova. Or rather the rest of the Pokemon World."

"Magic? Where?" The helmsman looked outside.

"You're not seeing it because we haven't reached it yet. You see, the other world may have been affected by ours the most with the large and vast number of Pokemon now inhabiting it. But we've gotten ourselves a fair trade in all of this world crossing debacle."

"A fair trade? What do you mean captain?"

"Magic from Equestria has been passed over to this world. The seas are filled with Equestrian Magic, mainly the seas of Unova and Hoenn. While the other world was given a popularity increase in Pokemon, we've been given Equestrian Magic."

"And you can sense it, captain?"

"Of course, I can. We Dragon Trainers can sense magic, after all. And the seas we're sailing in are brimming with Equestrian Magic. Once we reach a certain point, it'll show itself and put on an amazing show for the passengers. What all the Equestrian magic will show them, I have no idea. But that's what makes it exciting."

"Oh, I see." The helmsman nodded. "Wait. Is this the reason for this Special Haxorus and why we're searching for it?"

"You catch on quick. That Haxorus is more than just a different colour as you'll soon find out. Keep heading North. We'll be coming across a heavy magic area soon. In fact, I think that Special Haxorus is closer than we thought..."

Drake already knew what was coming. What he said was true. Equestrian Magic had ended up in the Pokemon World. A fair trade between both worlds ever since the worlds crossed.

Twilight's world receives Pokemon while Ash's world receives Equestrian Magic. What the magic looks like in the Pokemon World and how it acts is unknown, which is exactly why Drake is eager to see and show it off to the passengers as well. The Royal Unova Cruise was just beginning as an exciting new adventure was being experienced as the journey continues.
