In the background

Ash, Twilight and the others get into so many various situations and events in Ponyville. But what about the everypony else's point of view. What do they think about all of this?

The one pony who sees most of this go down is Amethyst Star. The only pony in Ponyville without her own Pokemon. She'd rather not bother with them. To her, they're too destructive and are most likely a handful. And she isn't wrong. Pokemon are destructive without a doubt.

She woke up in her bed, happy to embrace the morning sun that Luna now raises.

"Ah. Morning bliss." She took it all in, thinking this was going to be a normal day. But it wasn't. It never is.

Outside, she heard a huge fuss going on. It was Rainbow Dash's birthday. And Pinkie Pie was planning a Birthday Bash for her. Decorations had already been set up, meaning the party was closing to starting.

"Ugh. Why does peace ignore so much?" Amethyst groaned. "I'll just ignore it." She closed her windows, shutting herself from the noise as she would go with her day indoors. But before she closed those windows, a Pokemon had managed to get in.

A Skitty.

"What the-? How'd you get in here?!"

"Skitty!"

"Leave. I don't want any Pokemon right now. So shoo." Amethyst tried to get the kitten Pokemon out but Skitty was too playful to leave. Skitty jumped around her room, wanting to have some fun. But Amethyst Star wasn't up for it. "Ugh." She picked up the KItten Pokemon with her magic, sending it outside.

"Skitty?"

"Look. You're cute and everything. But I already said I don't want any Pokemon. Too much trouble. Too much of a hassle. Bye." Amethyst closed her doors but Skitty was inside once more, chasing its own tail. Amethyst groaned as she slumped on her.

"Skitt! Skitty!"

"Alright fine! You can stay for a bit. But no longer got it?"

"Skitty!" Skitty jumped onto her bed.

"Are you even listening?" Amethyst sighed. She sat back down on her bed, hoping for the day to pass.

Rainbow Dash's party went down outside, with the inclusion of a new party pony named Cheese Sandwich. That only made the noise even worse. It didn't help that Pinkie Pie was apart of it. They were having a goof-off to see who the best party pony was.

This went on for hours until the party had finally ended. Cheese Sandwich left and Rainbow Dash had the best Birthday Bash she's had yet. Amethyst felt like there was enough peace now. So she finally decided to go out.

"Ah. Much better." She felt the calm wind blowing in her face.

"Amethyst? There you are." Lyra called out as she was with Bon Bon. "Where were you? We didn't see you anywhere at Rainbow Dash's birthday."

"Yeah. Did you have something important to do today?"

"No. I just didn't want to come out today. It was a nice break from all the noise."

"But Ponyville's naturally noisy though. There's always something going on. Never a dull moment." said Bon Bon.

"Yeah but like. Ever since Pokemon were added into the mix, things have been 10x more disruptive. I can't even go one minute without some Pokemon moves flying all over the place or a bunch of battles happening left and right."

"Sounds to me that you don't like Pokemon," Lyra replied.

"It's not that I don't like Pokemon. I just think they're a handful and a potential distraction. That's why I'm the only pony without one of my own."

"Really? Then what's that?" Bon Bon aimed her hoof at the Skitty who was next to Amethyst Star.

"Skitty!"

"Aww. It's cute!" Both of them gushed at the Kitten Pokemon.

"Oh no, no. This isn't my Pokemon. It just kinda came to me." Amethyst denied it. But Skitty was purring up against her hoof.

"Well, I think it likes you," Lyra said. "Maybe you should keep it as your own."

"Nope. I ain't keeping one. Not a single Pokemon." Amethyst shook her head as Skitten jumped on her mane, resting on it. She sighed, knowing that this Pokemon would not leave her alone.

"Well okay. If you say so. But are you at least coming to the Pokemon Festival at Canterlot in a few days?" Lyra asked.

"Pokemon Festival?"

"It's this fun event where trainers get to catch as many Pokemon as they want to. And even see some new ones or even get eggs and more. It's gonna be such a treat! And it's the first one ever in our world." Bon Bon followed.

"Yeah no. Like I already said. I don't wanna involve myself with Pokemon. I'll sit it out when it comes around."

"Okay. We'll see you around then." The two of them left, leaving Amethyst and Skitty. Amethyst started to take a stroll as she sighed.

"Pokemon this, Pokemon that. Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon. That's all everypony thinks about now. This entire town's practically been overpopulated with Pokemon. What even is the appeal of them?" Amethyst sat down on a bench as she looked up at Skitty, who looked down at her, constantly having that smile. "I mean. They are kinda cute." She let out a smile for Skitty.

Skitty started to win over Amethyst's heart by purring on her. It had taken a huge liking to her. And so did Amethyst, albeit much smaller.

"Alright. Since you're so persistent... I guess I can keep you."

"Skitty!" Skitty licked her face with joy.

Amethyst Star would continue to be the one pony who was bothered by Pokemon. But slowly but surely, she was warming up to them all.

As Twilight and her friends continue their adventures, especially with some of them having rainbows shine out of their eyes. Rarity and Pinkie Pie being the first to experience this. Amethyst and everypony else continued their normal routines.

But what about Canterlot? Well for them, it was Dew Drops who was mostly in the background. She is the shyest of Hollow's class and she is too timid to speak up.

Today they were learning about certain abilities that go with or negate other moves.

"If a Pokemon has the ability Soundproof, then sound-based moves are practically useless against them. Moves like Hyper Voice, Boomburst, Metal Sound, Supersonic and many more are examples of sound-based moves." Hollow explained to them. "But there are also moves that can prevent sound. Like Throat Chop. It is a bit on the brutal side though."

"Awesome! That moves sounds so cool!" Sunrise said, slamming his hooves on the table.

"I wish I could use throat chop on you to keep you quiet forever," Sapphire replied. These two had a usual banter that always went on.

"Alright you two, simmer down. Now let me talk to you about the ability Trace. Now this one is a real game-changer of an ability because-" Hollow chattered on about abilities as Dew Drops, who always sat in the corner, looked at her Pokeball. She was thinking about catching Pokemon of her own one day. But she was way too shy. Pokemon still scare her. And her watching the Rapidash Rush with those Sharpedo didn't help at all.

But she wanted to get out there in the world someday. And hopefully, one day overcome her timid nature. She started thinking of which Pokemon she could catch that wouldn't scare her.

Even the cute Pokemon made her all shaky. But there were three Pokemon that she felt fine being around. Ash's Pikachu, Celestia's Kirlia and Fluttershy's Audino. If anything, she wanted a Pikachu of her own. Thinking about this made her zone out.

"Dew Drops?" Hollow called her name out as she snapped back into reality, gasping. "Are you okay? You zoned out there for a bit."

"S-Sorry." She quietly responded.

"Don't worry about it. It's not a bad thing to zone out from time to time, ya know. Now. Let me tell you all about signature abilities. Now the ability Gulp Missle belongs only to Cramorant. It's an ability only meant for it."

The lesson went on for hours until it was time to head home. Dew Drops would always see everypony leave and she'd end up being the last one to go. Hollow watched Dew Drops sit in the corner, waiting for them all to exit.

"Dew Drops. Are you not going?"

"Oh. I'm just waiting for everypony to leave. Then I'll go."

"You really are shy huh? Wonder why?"

"Well.. it's a very long story that I don't want to talk about, Mr Hollow."

"Alright. But good luck overcoming it. I'll see you tomorrow. And hopefully, we can get you your first Pokemon." He petted her head, leaving the room. Dew Drops followed him, feeling safer around him.

Dew Drops had returned to her home as her parents were waiting for her.

"Oh, Dew Drops, sweetie! You came back home safely!" Her mother went to hug her. "You're not hurt are you?"

"No, mom..."

"Did anypony try and take advantage of you?!" Her father came zooming downstairs, holding a broom in his mouth. "Tell me who they are!"

"No, dad. I'm fine."

"Oh good. Phew. Another day with my sweet Dew Drop coming home unharmed."

"So sweetie. Did you manage to catch your own Pokemon yet?" Her mom asked.

"No. Not yet."

"That's a shame. But have you decided which one you want?"

"Well... I want a Pikachu."

"Oh! A Pikachu! Like the one that Ash fellow has. Excellent choice, sweetie." She patted her daughter's head.

"So where do we find this Pikachu?" The dad asked.

"I don't know actually." Dew Drops lowered her head.

"Well, we're going to find a Pikachu! As your loving parents, we promise to get you your own Pokemon!" Her father bellowed.

The three of them had set out with gear packed. Dew Drops had a ton of protective equipment all over her. They took a train all the way to the one place where they know a bunch of Pokemon can be found. Ponyville. It is practically the Pokemon Capital of Equestria now.

Right now in Ponyville, the usual was going on. Ash, Twilight and the gang have come across a problem and they're working together to solve it. Basic stuff.

"Alright. We're sure to find a Pikachu here. Let's start looking." The dad said, holding a magnifying glass. "Now. They are yellow aren't they?"

Dew Drops walked around Ponyville, looking around. She and her parents couldn't really spot a Pokemon at all.

"Oh! That lady might know." The mother walked over to Vinyl Scratch for some help. "Excuse me. Do you know where we can find a Pikachu?"

Vinyl turned to the mother, but she couldn't hear her due to the music she was listening to. The mother awkwardly shifted her eyes.

"Um. I said. Do you know where we can find a Pikachu?" Vinyl read her lips and could understand her this time. She nodded her head, aiming her hoof over at Ash and Pikachu. "No no. I want to find a wild Pikachu. Not one that's already owned."

Vinyl read her lips once more and nodded again. She then shrugged not knowing where else to find one.

"Ugh. Nevermind." The mother sighed as she ducked her head, avoiding the thunderbolt that Pikachu had fired. "I'll just keep asking." She walked over to the next pony, Mrs Cake. "Excuse me. But do you know where we can find a Pikachu?"

"Oh, a Pikachu? Hm. I haven't really seen too many other than Ash's." Mrs Cake responded. "But, you can ask Ash himself. I'm sure he knows where you can find one."

"Of course. Why didn't I think of that?" The mother went over to Ash, ready to ask him. "Excuse me. Ash Ketchum."

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Pika?"

"Your Pikachu here. Where did you get it? Our daughter Dew Drops would LOVE one of her own. It'll be her first Pokemon as well."

"Oh, you're Dew Drop's mother. Well, finding a Pikachu? There's one place I know that's loaded with them. Pikachu Valley."

"Yes?! Where can I find it?!"

"It's all the way in the Alola Region. But the gateway to Alola isn't around Ponyville anymore so it might take a long time to get there."

"How long?"

"Well first you gotta take a boat from Kanto all the way to Alola, then you gotta go through so many islands and towns and cities and eventually you'll reach it. But an easy route is that it's located at Akala Island."

"Sounds like too much of a journey for one Pokemon. Is there possibly a shorter way to find one?"

"Hm. Well, you can just go to Kanto. They have Pikachu's in the wild. The gateway is right over there." Ash pointed at the gateway rift.

"Oh. Perfect. Dew Drops, dear! Come along. We're going to the other world."

"O-O-Other world?" Dew Drops was shaking. Going to the Pokemon world was her biggest fear since that's where most of the Pokemon can be found. And the thought of going through a rift was worse since she thought that her body wouldn't be able to take dimensional travel.

"Don't worry dear. We're here so we'll keep you safe. Now come on. We promised you we'd get you the Pokemon you wanted, and you're going to get that Pikachu! No matter what!" Her father exclaimed.

As the two entered the other world, they were met with Pallet Town first as usual.

"So. Where is this wild that Ash spoke of?" The mother asked.

"I believe it may that pile of tall grass over there." The father pointed his hoof at the first route.

"In there? Oh, Dew Drops, sweetie. Will you be able to handle this?"

"I'm too scared to go in there." She cowered on the ground.

"Don't worry, sweetie. I'll protect you." The father said, holding the broom in his mouth. "Any Pokemon tries to get too close, I'll send them flying!"

"You don't always have to bring the broom dear."

The family went towards the wild, entering it for the first time. There they were met with Pokemon of all sorts. All of them Kanto native. From the Pidgeys to the Dodrio's and the Rattata's. All of them were here, frolicking and just enjoying themselves.

"Woah." The father dropped the broom. "That is a lot of them. But where's a Pikachu?"

"Hmm..." The mother scanned their area, hoping to find a Pikachu. But they were pretty hard to find actually. They may be native to Kanto but they're not common like the ones here. "WHERE ARE ALL THE PIKACHU'S?!" She bellowed.

Dew Drops wanted to go home since she wasn't comfortable being around so many Pokemon. But that's when she was greeted with a Growlithe who walked up to her. She turned around, looking at the Puppy Pokemon as she was about to scream. But she didn't' want to alert the Pokemon, fearing that it may attack her.

Growlithe looked at her in confusion, not aware of her fear of it. Dew Drops froze for a bit as she noticed that Growlithe wasn't acting aggressively or even planning to attack. She stopped quivering, seeing that Growlithe still didn't do anything. She was at ease as she kept looking at the Puppy Pokemon, smiling a bit.

"H-Hello." She gently said to it.

"Growl." The Fire-Type replied.

"M-M-My name is Dew Drops. What's your name?"

"Growlithe."

"Growlithe? I like that name." Dew Drops thought for a moment and decided that she could make this her first Pokemon. It didn't scare her and it was friendly to her. "Um. Would you like to be my Pokemon?"

"Growl? Lithe." The Puppy Pokemon nodded in response, gladly accepting to be caught.

"R-R-Really?" A wide smile appeared on Dew Drops face. Her parents turned around to see this smile. She had never had a smile this large before. Ever. "Okay. Here goes." She gently tossed the Pokeball at Growlithe as it tapped its nose. The ball pulled Growlithe in as it began to shake.

1...2...3... Get!

"I-I caught a Pokemon..."

"She caught a Pokemon!" Her parents both said.

"Y-Y-Y-Y-Yay!" She let out a tiny yay as she picked up her Pokeball, releasing Growlithe from it.

"Honey, I'm so proud of you!" Her mother hugged her, tearing up a bit.

"But what about Pikachu? I thought you wanted one?" Her father asked.

"I did... But I think I also like Growlithe. It seems really friendly and nice. And I kind of feel safe around it."

"Growlithe." Growlithe nodded its head.

"Look at you. Gaining confidence. That's my girl. She gets it from me you know." The father proudly said, petting her daughter.

"Why don't we all head back to Canterlot for a nice dinner?"

"Okay!"

"Growlithe!"

On this day, Dew Drops became less shy. She was still very timid, but as time goes on she'll learn to gain more confidence and step out of the shadows.

The day was coming to an end. The night was almost here. For both sides.

Back in Ponyville, Amethyst Star went into her home after a long day of planning. She laid back on her bed as Skitty jumped on her stomach, resting there.

"Are you seriously gonna rest on my gut?"

"Skitty."

"Ugh. I don't get Pokemon. Oh well. I'll see you in the morning Skitty."

"Skitty..."

The two of the clocked out as the sun was setting. Outside Berry Punch had a huge cart of Pokemon Berries that she bought. She had recently taken a huge liking to them, incorporating them into her regular berry drinks. Although she was pulling a huge load.

"So many berries. But I need them. All of them!"

"Uh. Do you need any help with those?" A pony asked.

"HAH! No way! I know what you're planning. You're gonna nab my berries without me noticing. Well, nice try. These are mine. MINE!" She had become a bit too addicted to them, scaring the pony a bit.

She eventually returned to her home, ready to make a nice berry drink for the night.

"Perfect. Alright! Get in here!" She called for her own Pokemon. A Skwovet. "Now then. Do you have the rest of the berries? You better not have put them in your mouth again?"

"Skwo!" Skwovet revealed the berries in mint condition.

"Excellent. Let's make the best drink so far." So Berry Punch got the work. She started mixing all the berries that she had.

Magost, Oran, Kelpsy, Figy, Lansat, all of them. She wanted to make the best drink so far.

After tons of mixing, she had created her drink. Its foam was full of different colors from each berry. She picked up the mug, looking at the multi-colored drink. It was even fizzing a bit.

"Here goes nothing." She took one drink and immediately face-planted on the table, knocking herself out and going to sleep. Skwovet didn't mind this, so it took the remaining berries, placing them intis cheeks as it walked off upstairs.

Overall, what the others go through whilst Ash and others do other things are a different story. Wherever you are, there's always something going in the world. After all, there's never a dull moment for Equestria and the World of Pokemon, as the journey continues.
