Princess.

A beautiful day. The sun shines brighter than normal now. Today is a special day. A day that nopony can predict, except for Celestia herself.

It's morning in Ponyville. It shimmers and shines like always. Twilight Sparkle had just awoken from a nice sleep. She felt like today that everything was going to be just fine. She stepped out of her library home, taking in the nice air. The air and the land were filled with beautiful Pokemon. The wonderful creatures that have crossed over with her world.

Everypony was headed to what they usually do, now with Pokemon to help. Pokemon like Floette make blooming plants even more beautiful, Pelliper's help Derpy deliver mail, The mayor heads to her office with her little Lillipup on her side. You could see Spoink's bounce around, heading who knows where. Ponyville has become a favorite landmark for all Pokemon. And with both of them combined, they give off a beautiful, calm, still yet exciting energy. Everything is just fine.

Until a raincloud drops rain on Twilight, killing her mood.

"Rainbow Dash. That's not funny." She immediately assumed it was Rainbow Dash since she'd most likely do that.

"Terribly sorry darling. I'm afraid I'm not good with the thundery ones." It wasn't Rainbow Dash. It was Rarity, using magic to control the clouds and weather. Then it was revealed with great shock. She had Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark. Twilight had a bad feeling about this. Her face says it all as she gasped.

"Something tells me everything is not going to be fine." She walked over to Rarity who was controlling so many rainclouds at the moment. "What are you doing? What happened to your Cutie Mark?"

"Whatever do you mean Twilight? I'm simply doing what I've done since the day it first appeared. Does my sky look fabulous or what." Rarity's rainclouds were bothering everypony else. They were pouring all over the place.

"Where is Rainbow Dash? Why isn't she handling this?" Twilight wondered.

The Pokemon House. Where Ash and Pikachu were asleep next to a pack of Snubulls. They were unaware of the mishap going on in Fluttershy's Cottage. Dawn and Brock had gone off to get some food for the Pokemon really early, so they were unaware of what was happening right now. Pikachu had woken up, spotting Twilight and Spike headed here.

Spike yawned as they had arrived to Fluttershy's cottage.

"I still don't know what you had to wake me up for. I love sleeping in the rain."

"It's not about the weather, Spike. Rarity had Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark and said this was Rainbow Dash's cottage. Something strange is going on." Twilight knocked on the door, seeing Rainbow Dash open it.

"Hey, guys." Rainbow said with a worried look on her face.

"Rainbow Dash. Why is Rarity doing your job?" Twilight asked her. A crash sound was heard inside as Rainbow's eyes widened. She rushed back into the chaos happening inside. "And what in Equestria is going on in-"

Inside, the animals were all over the place. They weren't listening to Rainbow Dash in the slightest. Pikachu had entered, seeing the carnage that was happening.

"Pika?!"

"Pikachu! Do you see this?" Twilight said. Pikachu saw that it was a mess. What happened while he and the other Pokemon were asleep in the Pokemon House. Pikachu, Twilight and Spike had noticed Rainbow Dash with Fluttershy's Cutie Mark. "She has her Cutie Mark? What is going on?!"

The Electric Mouse Pokemon rushed to his trainer, waking him up to alert him.

"Hm? What is it Pikachu?" Ash said, rubbing his eyes.

"Pika-Pi! Pika!" Pikachu pointed over at the scene. Rainbow Dash doing Fluttershy's job. Ash got up, walking over to get a good look. He saw what he saw.

"What is going on?"

"Ash! Thank goodness you're here. It's so weird! Rarity has Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark and Rainbow Dash has Fluttershy's. Their jobs have been switched somehow."

"Huh? For real?! Can that happen?!"

"I don't know! This is a first for me. Rainbow Dash. Where's Fluttershy?"

"She's at SugarCube Corner! Hey! Put Rufflet down!" Rainbow Dash was occupied right now. So now was not the best time. Actually, no time right now was the best time.

At SugarCube Corner, Fluttershy was inside, doing her best to try and make everypony laugh. But it was going poorly. Nopony got a single chuckle out of anything she does. Pinkie Pie's Cutie Mark was now hers.

Over at Sweet Apple Acres, Pinkie Pie was the one gathering the apples. However, there was no bucking involved. Her hoof strength wasn't as a potent as Applejack's. So gathering them was tough. Ploughing the fields or even repairing was a struggle. It was not her forte. So many chores to do, her body doesn't have the same power AJ's packs. Applejack's Cutie Mark belonged to her.

And speaking of Applejack, she was at Carousel Boutique, Rarity's workplace. She was doing a horrible job of making dresses. They had patches in them and you could still see which part was sown in poorly. Every single one of them looked rugged and crumpled up. Normally, with the Sewaddle's there it wouldn't be too much of a problem. But they were out of energy, starving. And Applejack couldn't rush out to get food because she had a deadline to attend. Rarity's Cutie Mark was on her.

Rarity was still having trouble with the weather, causing sunburns and sudden frostbites constantly. It was a mess. They all had their Cutie Marks swapped. But why and how?

"Pika..."

"You said it, buddy." Ash replied.

"How? When? Why?!" Twilight said. That's when she realised how this could've happened. "We have to get to the library."

At Golden Oaks, Twilight had headed in as fast as she could.

"Why is this happening? Did something weird happen overnight or something?"

"Pika-pika."

"I think I may know Ash. You see... last night, I got a special delivery from the princess."

Flashback Sequence.

"Dear Twilight Sparkle. The spell contained on the last page of this book is Starswirl the Bearded's secret unfinished masterpiece. He was never able to get it right and thus abandoned it. I believe you are the only pony who can understand and rewrite it. 'Princess Celestia.'" Twilight had read. She flipped the book to turn to the page of the spell, reading it.

"From one to another, another to one, a mark of one's destiny, singled out alone fulfilled." As she was reading, the Elements of Harmony that were being kept in her library, started to glow and shine, specifically the Element of Magic only. It zapped 5 magic rays onto the other elements, rapidly changing their colors. "That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't even rhyme."

Flashback Sequence over.

"I cast the spell so I could find out what it was. but nothing seemed to happen." She walked over to the Elements, seeing the other 5 having different colors. "But now I know something did happen. The spell has changed the Elements of Harmony. That must be why their Cutie Marks are all wrong."

"So just cast a counterspell to switch em back." Spike said.

"There is no counterspell!"

"So their destinies are all changed? Just like that?" Ash scratched his head.

"Pika."

"Yes. And it's all my fault." Twilight walked up to her room, feeling guilt upon her.

"Minccino." Minccy felt that sadness as well, along with the others.

It all looked downhill from here. A simple spell ended up turning everything upside down. Faster than Darkrai, faster than Malamar, faster than Chrysalis and even the Lord of Chaos Discord.

Ash and the others went upstairs to see the saddened Unicorn.

"What have I done...?"

"No need to worry." Ash had suddenly said, using Dawn's catchphrase.

"What?" Twilight looked up at him.

"Don't give up on your friends so easily. It looks tough, but where there's a will there's a way. Your friends wouldn't want you giving up so easily now would they?"

"Pikachu!"

"You're right Ash. And they mean more to me than anything." She looked at the picture of her and her friends. "My friends." Suddenly, a purple glow had appeared around her. This glow was extra bright.

"Oh, man." Ash said as the light was reaching him and the others.

"P-Pika.."

"Minccino."

"Twilight? Are you alright?" Spike said. Twilight's eyes suddenly had her Cutie Mark in them. Her brain jumpstarted once more.

"I got it! I know what to do!"

"You do?" Spike replied.

"I may not be able to remind them of who they are, but I can show them what they mean to each other. They'll find the part of themselves that's been lost so that they can help the friend they care about so much." She used her magic to place her Element on her head whilst placing the others in the chest they are usually in.

"Come on, boys." Twilight ran out to fix this problem quickly as the others followed suit.

"Ugh. What's up with all this rain?" Dawn said while holding a basket of Poffins. She was trying to protect the poffins from the excessive rain.

"No idea. But this weather is uncanny all of a sudden." Brock was using his frying pan to protect himself from the rain. "Not to mention all the ponies are feeling pretty down and gloom."

They both saw Twilight, Ash, Spike and Pikachu running off somewhere.

"Where are they going?"

"Piplup."

At SugarCube Corner, Fluttershy was exiting the building.

"Fluttershy! Where are you going?" Twilight asked.

"I'm moving back to Cloudsdale. I don't know what's wrong but, I can't seem to make anypony laugh." She looked down with sadness like everypony else.

"Before you go, I was wondering if you might be willing to help out Rainbow Dash. She's really struggling with her animals."

"Pikachu!"

"But. I don't really know anything about animals."

"But you do know something about Rainbow Dash."

"I know that she's a true friend. And I'll do anything I can to help her." She said with a smile returning to her face.

Returning to the Cottage, they could hear a bang on the door and Rainbow Dash yelling. Outside of the Cottage came Rufflet who had a dizzy look on his face.

"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight called out.

"I'm in here! Help! I'm trapped!"

Inside, the animals were revolting. They had placed Rainbow Dash in a pot, ready to cook her up. Whirlipede and Swablu were tied up as well inside the pot with her. Rufflet managed to escape though.

"Hurry Twilight! Can't you do some sort of spell to get her out?" Fluttershy asked.

"No. Fluttershy. You're the only one who can help. Rainbow Dash needs YOU." Fluttershy nodded her head, ready to try her best.

"Um. Hello. Little woodland creatures. I know that you're all very upset, and you like giving Rainbow Dash a hard time. But you'd all really appreciate it if you calm down and maybe... rest for a bit." Her voice was reassuring to the animals. They hadn't forgotten who she was and how much she cared for them. "Oh uh, look!" She zipped over to grab a bowl of vegetables. "Here's some nice juicy leaves for you to munch on. And some crunchy, munchy acorns too." The smaller animals had begun digging in. "Wouldn't you like to take a little break and have a snack?"

All the animals chose to eat the food, rather than resorting to devouring Rainbow Dash instead. Disaster averted.

"Aw. Look at that. I guess you were all just cranky because you were hungry." Angel Bunny hopped up to her as the other animals gathered around Fluttershy, welcoming her back home. "Aw. You are very welcome little friends."

Fluttershy's body began glowing as well. Matching her true element.

"Goodness. It's like I can understand them." The Element of Kindness was taking out of the chest that Ash was holding by Twilight. "I...I feel strange like, like this is what I was meant to do. But this is who I am... My Destiny!" She had flown up with Twilight placing the element on her. Suddenly, she had seen everything that she had been through. All of her experiences with her friends flashed before her eyes. Her kindness element glowing as it was all coming back. That wasn't the only thing that came back.

"W-Wha...What happened?"

"Fluttershy, look! Your Cutie Mark!" Twilight said. "It worked! It worked!" Her mark did come back. The idea that Twilight had planned was a success. "Oh I'm so happy you're back to normal! Now we need your help." The mission to restore everypony to their true selves was a go. Ash had untied Rainbow Dash and her Pokemon from the pot, freeing them of their demise.

Next was Rarity. Managing the weather was going poorly for her. Rainclouds were chasing after ponies, and the Grass-Type Pokemon were getting annoyed by all this constant rain with no sunshine. They had encouraged Rainbow to try and clear the skies. She flew up, gently kicking a cloud as it poofed away. Then, she flew about, clearing up all the clouds that were blocking the sky. Sunshine had returned, making all the Grass-Type Pokemon happy. Rainbow Dash's loyalty element had returned to her next. All of her friendship experiences had flashed before her eyes, restoring her Cutie Mark.

"Uhh... what just happened." She was very confused.

"There's no time to explain. But we need your help, Applejack's trying to make dresses." Twilight said.

"Say no more."

"Ash. What's going on?" Dawn asked.

"Well..."

Following up was Applejack. Her dresses were awful. Even the Sewaddle couldn't fix the damage that she caused. Mostly because she forgot to feed them like Rarity does so they have no energy. Rarity was encouraged by her friends to help Applejack. She used her magic to get the essential tools she needed to really make a good dress. Ash and Pikachu sent the bad dresses out as Dawn and Brock fed the Sewaddle's who were starving. They had regained their energy as Rarity was regaining her true skills. The Sewaddle's pitched in to help as they had made a beautiful dress. Rarity's Element returned to her. All that she has learned about generosity came back to her. bringing her Cutie Mark back.

"Oh my. What a terrible dream I had. Or, maybe I'm still having it."

"Rarity. Pinkie Pie's about to lose the Apple Farm. We need Applejack's help." Twilight explained.

"Lose the Apple Farm? Well can't let that happen now can we?"

The next one. Pinkie Pie, who was having major trouble. With all the Applin's moving around and having to fix the place was frustrating. That is until Applejack and the others came to help. Applejack bucked the trees, bringing all those apples down to those barrels. The others picked up the barrels with apples to carry them. AJ tossed corn seeds on the dirt to make them grow. Applejack had regained her loyal Element. All of her happy memories with her friends returning to her head. Her family's Cutie Mark had returned.

"Yeehaw! Now that's more like it! What's next?"

"The townspeople are furious. We need the old Pinkie Pie back."

"I'm on it. I know just the thing."

And the final one. They had all bought Pinkie Pie to the town which was now full of sad and down ponies. No smiles in sight.
And for Pinkie Pie, her memories kicked back in fast. Instantly, she put on those universally known goofy glasses with the big nose. Her downed hair puffed back up to its wild and fluffy texture. Her contagious laughter had sprung back along with her Cutie Mark.

"Come on ponies! I wanna see you smile!"

"PINKIE!" They all called out in joy.

All Elements returned, finally. All of them being friends helped each other out. A march happened in the town as all the ponies and Pokemon were feeling Pinkie's positive energy. Twilight had pulled them all in, giving a group hug as the same purple light shined around them all. That's when the words that the spell had clicked to her. What they really meant.

"Wait a second that's it! I understand now! I know how to fix the spell!"

Returning back to the library, Twilight picked up the book and a quill. She began writing down the missing words from the spell that Starswirl couldn't figure out.

"From all of us together, together we are friends. With the marks of our destiny made one, there is magic without end." She said while writing it.

Once that final word was written and that full stop at the end, her crown started to glow, creating a strong pulse that had made the other elements shine as well. They all fired a beam with their respected colors. Twilight was inside a ball of light as she had suddenly vanished, leaving both a bright flash of light that came out of the windows and a puff of smoke on the ground.

"W-WHat just happened?" Dawn said in shock like everyone else.

"Pi-Pika?!"

"What was that...?" Brock said.

Inside an unknown area. Where there was nothing but blue ethereal colors and white sparkles everywhere. This is where Twilight was.

"Hello? Where am I? What is this place?" Her voice echoed. In the far distance, she could see a familiar figure walk up close to her. It was Princess Celestia.

"Congratulations Twilight. I knew you could do it."

"Princess. I don't understand... What did I do?"

"You did something today that's never been done before. Something even a great unicorn like Starswirl the Bearded was not able to do." She had shown the spellbook, opening to the last page. "Because he did not understand friendship like you do. The lessons you've learned here in Ponyville have taught you well. You have proven that you're ready Twilight."

"Ready? Ready for what?"

There was a reason why today was a special day. And why only Celestia knew it was coming. Projections of all of Twilight's accomplishments and moments in Ponyville appeared beside her. From when she first arrived in Ponyville, to when she made friends with the others. When she helped Luna gain everypony's trust back, to when she passed her seemingly impossible test. When she got her first Pokemon, Minccino who is now apart of her family essentially. And when she first met with Ash and Pikachu once both worlds crossed. She has come a long way. Celestia had watched her ever since.

All the adventures she's been on. She laughed and cried with her friends. Helped others get through moments. Even getting help from her friends and others as well. It wasn't easy, but she managed to pull through just like she always has. It has all made Celestia proud. Very proud. Like a mother.

The time has come. For her to start her new life. Going beyond what she normally is. It was time for her to really live up to her Cutie Mark. It was time for her to fulfil her destiny. A purple light surrounded her, whizzing about as she was floating up in the air. A light had engulfed her as she felt a change in her.

Back in Ponyville, nighttime had come as up in the sky, that same light had appeared above. It was Twilight's Cutie Mark. High above and huge. Ash and the others looked up to see this unexpected event. Down came the Cutie Mark, landing softly on the ground. And as the light started to dim down, Twilight's figure could be seen in it.

"Pika..." Pikachu said in awe.

"Twilight. Is that you?" Applejack said. Twilight stood up firm with her eyes closed. Until all of a sudden, she had spread out wings.

She had become an Alicorn.

"Woah. This is different. She has wings now!" Ash awed at the sight.

"A horn and wings.. doesn't that mean.." Dawn began thinking.

"She's just like Celestia and Luna now." Brock replied.

"Twilight, darling. You've become an Alicorn. I didn't even know that was possible." Rarity said.

"Alicorn PARTY!" Pinkie Pie yelled, swinging about.

"No way! Now she's like... A Princess!" Dawn just loved the thought of that.

"That's because she is a princess." Celestia had come flying down with Passion teleporting by her side.

"HUH?!" They all said in unison.

"I'm...A Princess?"

"Since you've come to Ponyville, you've displayed the charity, compassion, devotion, integrity, optimism, hope. And of course, the leadership of a true princess." Celestia was referring to Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Ash and Pikachu.

"But. Does this mean I won't be your student anymore?"

"Not in the same way as before. I'll still be here to help and guide you, but we're all your students now too. You are an inspiration to us all Twilight." They had all bowed as they would bow to a princess, even Celestia was bowing.

"W-What do I do now? Is there a book about being a princess I should read?" This was still a lot to take in for her. Celestia laughed a bit at that.

"There will be time for all of that later."

"Ralts!"

The next day had arrived. It was a special day for Twilight once more. At Canterlot Castle, everypony, human and Pokemon were inside for this special celebration. Celestia was ready to speak.

"We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. My most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle has done many extraordinary things since she's lived in Ponyville. She even helped reunite me with my sister, Princess Luna. But today, Twilight Sparkle did something extraordinary. She created new magic. Proving without a doubt that she is ready to be crowned Equestria's newest princess. Fillies and Gentlecolts. Pokemon and Humans. May I present for the very first time..." Through those doors came Twilight Sparkle herself.

"Princess Twilight Sparkle."

A song was sung for this memorable day. Spike had walked up, handing her crown over. Celestia had placed the crown on Twilight, officially making her a Princess.

Outside, Twilight, Celestia and Luna looked out at all the ponies, people and Pokemon cheering and applauding Twilight for achieving this great rank.

"Say, something Princess." Celestia said to Twilight.

"Oh um... ahem. A little while ago, my teacher and mentor Princess Celestia sent me to live in Ponyville. She sent me to study friendship. Which is something I didn't really care much about." She looked back at her friends when she said that, turning to face them.

"But now, on a day like today, I can honestly say I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the friendships I've made with all of you. Each one of you taught me something about friendship. And for that, I will always be grateful. Today, I consider myself the luckiest pony in Equestria. Thank you, friends. Thank you everypony." One more applause and cheering from them all. Minccino jumped towards Twilight, giving her a hug. Down at the crowd, Dawn and Brock were watching as well as Dawn wiped a tear from her eye along with Piplup. Darkrai was watching from the shadows, nodding silently.

Arceus was watching from above, feeling the positive energy that had been given today.

"Twilight! I'm so proud of you." Shining Armor said to his little sister as he started to tear up too.

"Are you crying?"

"Of course not. It's... it's liquid pride. Totally different thing."

"Boy, talk about a feat. Good job Twilight." Ash congratulated her.

"Pikachu!"

"Way to go Princess!" Applejack said.

"Best Coronation day ever!" Pinkie bellowed.

"We love you Twilight." Fluttershy said as they all huddled together to hug her once more.

"I love you too girls. All of you.

And so it all came to a close. A wonderful event had happened today. And it's only going to get bigger from here on. Twilight flew up, knowing that everything is going to be just fine.

Where the Rift lies.

"As expected. Princess Twilight Sparkle. She has finally transcended to Alicorn status. Now the fun can REALLY begin...."
